For the second time in my life, I felt such fear. It was like the core that had been calmed down was once again shaken by such presence. When was the first time I felt like this? I can't remember. But I have felt it before, like a shape blade within my neck reach. One small mistake and the monster would kill us... It was like a terror itself.
Its applause felt like a thunderous clap, and a cold voice that could freeze the entire soul. We all slowly looked toward the being on the tree despite its presence installing fear inside us. Completely white being it was, standing tall on top of the tree branch watching us with its piercing purple eyes. Though its build was slender feminine, the aura it was emitting was something that could bring us to our knees. Truth be told, I was barely left hanging. It wasn't something we could fight. And without a doubt, I recognized the creature. It wasn't mutation but the being from another world. The Ultra Beast of Beauty: Code 02: Pheromosa.
Since it wasn't using its monstrous speed, I could clearly see the being in front of us. No doubt about it. It was an Ultra Beast. Also, there were no visible body changes, I could say it hasn't been mutated yet. But that point was weird itself. The air itself contains a massive amount of aetheric energy and despite that, it managed to regain its form. It's not like aether doesn't affect Ultra beast. With a mother like mine, I have a lot of knowledge regarding the UB. Ahh... Geez~ I don't even know what's going on anymore... Like all the knowledge I gained over the years is proving wrong within a matter of an hour. First Anabel, despite humans' resistance toward Aether, was affected by it. And the Pheromosa in front of us was completely unharmed by the Aether despite the quantity in the air.
Why the hell is all of this happening. Por qué...

Ah! With such status, I couldn't even run away. I mean I am not really appraising but if I did have the ability to do so, then the end result wouldn't be much better anyway... Despite its attitude, it doesn't change the fact that it was correct. Honestly, I don't know what to call it, a mutation, a monster, or simply pokemon. Normally, Pheromosa(s) are really fast but this one's speed even crosses that building. Did Aether only affect its speed? It was hard to tell but not impossible. But I can't accept why it decided to show up now of all time. Does that mean we proved weak when it tested us? But the reason it pulled us away from the veil was that it was wary of us, right? If that's the case, it would have been much better to just utilize its speed to attack us. Just when I thought of getting close to how it thinks, it just pulls another card... I wonder though... if Aether has any hand on this. In fact, it wouldn't be weird considering its mysterious nature.
"Then are you trying to stop us here?"
"Indeed. You guys are a nuisance to my plan. You are nothing but a plaything in my eyes but you would pose a danger for what was about to happen. So~ Be a good girl and stay hair. a girl with Aether energy." Saying that it made the gesture like it was thinking of something. "Hmm~ calling you 'a girl with Aether energy' is kinda long and stupid... What to do? What to do? Ah! I know... Purlie..."
"Pu-Purlie... You gotta be kiddin' me." Anabel said no to the monster.
"You don't like it. I think it was kinda cute."
"It doesn't matter. I don't mind if it was my friend. I would be happy if Lillie was to call me but you are a no-go." Eh! Was it really necessary to call my name? Ahh-hah~ it is looking at me like it wants me to die. Well, I am happy to hear her feeling but not in front of the monster who was makin' a puppy dog eyes like it really wanted to call Anabel 'Purlie.' But calling her 'Purlie' 'cause of her purple hair was kinda...
During the stupid conversation with the monster, Mamane picked in. "What what? Does someone care to explain me? It's like I am inside the conversation of two aliens."
I don't know how that was hard to intercept, in fact, they were literally going to n' forth while making fun of each other. But well, that was to be expected. We were keeping quiet because we didn't want to cause any panic but now that the monster was in front of us, the situation demands different. So, I explained the situation to Mamane and everyone. I told them everything that Anabel managed to intercept the situation without leaving a single thing. And of course, the reaction was, how to say it, as expected.
"Eh! Wait wait wait. Slow down a bit, would ya?" Kiawe asked, scratching his head, trying to process all the information I forwarded them.
"No, you aren't the only one, Kiawe. I am in the same boat." Mallow jumped in. "Just what was all that? The plan the monster prepared? We were brought out here by that monster? The mutant horde? Seriously, that was just... a lot to take, y'know." It wasn't just my friends, even the members of UG were visibly confused by what I said. Only Lana was calmly listening. I don't know if she had figured it out prior to this or not. As always, she is expressionless.
Honestly, it was confusing. But one shall know that the true identity, the amount of energy called Aether is still unknown. While properly utilizing, the energy can be really helpful but for human civilization right now, Aether energy has more cons than pros. Unless we could say what is Aether, I doubt we could make the true use of this energy. But we do know that Aether is really harmful if we look at how the world is. We saw Pokemons evolving furthermore than their evolutionary line when the world was under attack by Aether. We didn't know how the earth was enveloped with this energy but that was the major turning point for the earth.
Within a single month, the earth lost the majority of the world population. The amount dropped from billions to millions. Never was the same, neither land nor sea. Through various survival, with the willing hands of people, they took the amount and created the barrier called the veil. Of course, inside the veil wasn't exactly the safe either but somehow relatively safer than outside the veil. As thus, the inside became either to hunt or be hunted. It took years to settle, and in a meanwhile, because we managed to find some uses of the Aether energy, thus speeding our development process. Just the sheer amount of progress was heaven-defying. And we managed to climb up that much just by scratching the surface of Aether.
Taking all this into account, it wouldn't be a weird situation but honestly, getting sudden revelation could be confusing. First, we came to the conclusion that the pokemons affect by Aether would lose their capacity to think properly. Then, by helping, they could indeed think things through. And now, this monster defied all the logic and went beyond what we could think of. Naturally, I wouldn't say it has been mutant considering there were no visible changes to its body but if we look into its speed and others, I would say it has been affected, albeit the less amount, I guess.
Well, I don't have time to leisurely think all this, do I? While we are being halted here, our city is in more danger as the hordes of mutants are going to trample over it. If we don't do anythin' soon, our place, we call home could be lost. While I doubt we could outrun this monster, I do wonder how the villagers are going to comfort the trouble heading their way. No matter how I look at it, the current placement is extremely discomfort.
