You can't be serious.
The monster died just like that.
No, it would be better to say the weird black fog swallowed the monster as a whole.
Unless counting on the horde attacking the city, we won the battle against the monster, right?
Yipee! I tried to jump in excitement to celebrate the victory but, ouch! I completely forgot there is a big injury in my leg. That was a close call. If not for the black fog, we could have lost. But we won. Of course, our victory wasn't without any losses. In fact, except for one, we lost every member of the paradise. Faba lost his leg and Mamane, sigh* lost his ability to feel below his waist. Though other members are relatively in good condition than Mamane, not so much that I doubt they could hold against the horde attacking the town.
Well, I will leave the horde planning to everyone. Well, I know they are shocked to see my final attack but honestly, I have zero ideas on that matter. I went ahead as I picked the Pokeball from the ground. I don't know how I got so lucky. Wait... I just hope this luck is enough to count all the bad luck I had to suffer for the whole day. But I guess having taken care of the monster in one hit could be considered extremely lucky if taking all the accounts into consideration.
I picked the Pokeball in my hand and watched over it. Honestly, I don't know what is inside the Pokeball. But if not for the mutant I accidentally caught, I doubt we could have won. And even if we had, I figured the loss would be more gruesome than the current situation. Banzai for the victory. Also, have never been so glad to learn how to register the SKIN. But now, I have one more question within my mind.
This Pokeball was the same one that I gave Wicke to figure out. So, as you have guessed, the Pokeball can't catch a single pokemon or mutant. So, why now all of a sudden? Well, I am not really complaining after how it saved our asses but seriously, just what kind of mystery this Pokeball contains? I also want to see the mutant inside the Pokeball. One to say thank you for the help and another, why the Pokeball captured it. Does that mean, the mutant inside was the original or what? Anyway, I can't. After all, I don't know how dangerous it is. Mutants are non-intelligent, to begin with, so it would be bad if we are massacred by our savior.
"Why don't you look what kind of mutant it is, then?"
"Kyaa~" 'Cause my focus had been on the questioning Pokeball, the sudden interruption caused me to jump up. "Geez~ Anabel, you scared me there. But are you okay to move?"
"Well, thanks for worrying but I can pretty much move now." Anabel turned toward Mallow who was already up and healing, "But honestly, UG's suits are really amazing, aren't they? Those are some amazing mechanisms." Well, I would rather say that that only applies to Mallow's suit which was designed to heal the party. Though I won't say the same thing about Mamane, nonetheless it would be good if he can be healed. Well, given enough time and treatment, I think Mamane can be healed, at least I hope.
"So, can you hold against horde?" I asked Anabel who in return turn back to me. Though she was healed by Mallow, she was barely able to walk, I doubt she can go on with further fighting. That just proves how much she was injured during the battle. In fact, if not for her, just how many times would I have died? Just the simple thought can be scary.
"There is no helping it. We can't just sit here while the whole Melemele island is fighting, now can we?" She does have a point. Having Melemele island destroy means that we would lose our home. But to be honest, I don't want to further proceed from here. "Here." Anabel handed me a special pad. I can't believe she usually carries something like this around. But I guess, it naturally comes from being police and an investigator.
I turned a camera on while filtering the special effect. Usually, in anime and mangas, the boy always calls something like this 'all man's hope' or something. I honestly wouldn't understand why they become happy over something like this. Yes, the camera produces infrared rays that allow the individual to look through opaque objects. True, it even allows you to look through walls and whatnot.
Now coming back to the topic on hand, I looked through the monitor which displayed some fog-like being. It was black in color, the same as the attack I used through my wand. It wasn't moving around but simply staying there. Around the size of a Persian cat, while the whole matter was nothing but black fog, the only subtle changes were the red blood-like eyes. It was mesmerizing like staring at the thousand stars.
But something wavered inside my heart. My heart skipped the beat. It wasn't because I fell in love at first sight or anything, that's what I can vouch for. This entity, I have met before, somewhere somehow. I can't tell where neither I have full memory to prove how. More like running through instinct, I can somehow tell that I have met it. I guess it can be said that my mind has lost the portion of memory from the past. But well, that's for later to come.
Anyway, I decided to trust the da-dumb of my heart.
I decided to-
Now, asking how we come to this, let's take our time back to when the monster and I were bickering whether NTR or Vanilla reigns supreme. Ah, no! I take that back, let's tell the tale from the moment of our's flirtation. Yes, when I, myself, and Anabel were subjected to the yuri genre. Alright fine, jokes aside, let's hop onto the battle that happened shortly after our own conversation.
The monster's best advantage over anything was its speed. Thus, just as the game commenced, the monster disappeared from our sight. Right now, as we are talking, the one who can be the easiest target will probably be me, the weakest even among the weeks. We can't even stay on formation. While mew formation can be accessed in a situation where we can protect a single target, otherwise such thing as the formation was useless against a single target. I wouldn't completely say it's useless but when the opposite possesses such might, it might as well be futile.
"Lillie, stay valiant," Anabel warned me and I nodded to her. Even I can't get careless when my life is literally on the line. All the other members also catch up to us after freeing themselves from the tentacles that the monster used. It wasn't to let us out of here so its next strike didn't take long to rain down. When I said rain down, it was literally raining the arrows purely made of arrows.
"Water veil." Lana moved her hand through the sky as a beautiful blue clock hover above us. As the fire arrows hit the clock, it vaporized. By the time the arrows ended up raining, the veil disappeared too. As expected of the best fighter within the Ultra Guardian, her timing was flawless. Along with Kiawe, she was another damage dealer, while Mamane specializes in scouting and Mallow healing. Me, of course, I am... Hehe~ currently extremely useless. Tee-hee~ Ah! my soul is hurting.
"Hmm~ someone who could hold their own against me? Then-" The monster who landed to the branch to say that suddenly disappeared from our sight as its next word echoed within our eardrum. "I would take you out first." That's what the monster said. The monster, true to his word appeared a bit distant from Lana, as its legs burned into a fire. With a leg that literally cries the hotness of magma, it moved toward Lana.
Lana hit the ground with the tilt of her fishing rod, as many ice walls formed in front of her. Oh, and on the side note, her weapon is that, fishing rod. When we asked her, how she can use it to battle, she just shrugged off saying it was far easier for her to use. Damn! how cool she looked when she said that. Well, anyway if it is okay for her, then we have no right to complain, though I personally think she looks kinda cool, and cutesy when fighting with a fishing rod. Along with the ice walls, Mallow created some leaves barrier too while Mamane put his all to create the electric terrain for scouting and giving us information about the monster's coordination. Even with all that, the magma-like leg of the monster passes through each barrier like child's play.
When the monster reached Lana, Kiawe got into action, holding his large shield in front destined to protect Lana. Too bad, his choice didn't come true as the monster was stopped in the mid-track. It was Anabel who was reaching her hand for the monster as her hand was glowing in pink. Psychic analytics, huh. That was the weapon that allows her to record her power inside the weapon and release it more times than she initially can. In another word, with the inner built Aether, her attacks through analytics just increase by fold, making it perfect for her.
Useless information: Are you guys seriously asking why Kiawe is considered a damage dealer? Are we really going to forget Naofume, Maple, and shielder? Alright, crossover aside, his shield is special in a way. You see, his shield contains a special crystallite that can be activated once per thirty minutes. Once ignited, it can create a powerful destructive power. Also, his suit's design has two horn-shaped ornaments on his shoulder side. And it's feature is to create spikes within his shield. And powerful and pointy one on top of that. Now think of him as he bashed through his enemy with pointed spikes along with a half an hour destructive weapon.
So, he can basically fill the role of fighter and defender unlike Lana, who is purely battle type. But countering Kiawe, Lana can go from melee to range in a heartbeat. They are totally different from one another but as valuable to the team that can't be replaced. And despite all that, we are still barely holding against the monster.
