Everyone in the Student Council Room is silent. They didn't know what just happened. First, everything was going great. Then…Boom! Sona lost the chess game. Saji was the most shocked and jealous because he knew what beating Sona in chess entails.
"Kaichou? Please tell me this doesn't count," Saji said. He didn't want the woman he has been pining for to end up with one of the biggest perverts in the school.
"Unfortunately, it does. It was the deal I made when I broke off my engagement. If there is anyone smarter than me, then he or she is the one I'll marry," Sona said. She has her face between her interlocked fingers.
"Then that means…." Tsubaki said. She was afraid to complete her sentence.
"That's right. From here on out, Issei Hyoudou is my fiancé," Sona said.
"But he's just a pervert!" Tomoe shouted.
"That may be. But he did beat me, and I don't mind Hyoudou being my fiancé. At least the Hyoudou in the last few weeks. I haven't heard of any report about him in a while," Sona said.
"Maybe he's using magic to hide, and that's why people aren't noticing him," Reya said. She is one of Sona's Bishop. Her full name is Reya Kusaka. She is a slim girl with long brown hair that ends in two short braids and matching eyes. She also wears a blue headband. Normally soft-spoken.
"That's doubtful. I can see it in his eyes. He's like a new person, not possessed by some entity, but he's like a changed man," Sona said. She then thought about the last few weeks. She remembers all the changes that happened, from Issei's after school activities being non-existent to no longer being interested in porno magazine. Many things have changed in between.
Back to me, Issei. Anyway, when I headed home, I felt a certain cat watching. I was not too fond of that, so I sent her to the Mirror Dimension. I don't want people spying on me. That should teach her a lesson.
Fuck! That's not a good idea! I remembered that Koneko has an abandonment issue. If she returned to the ORC, she wouldn't be able to interact with Rias and the others, and her trauma might worsen. Just because I don't like them doesn't mean I have to be that cruel. So, I entered the Mirror Dimension and searched for her. Luckily, she wasn't that far. As soon as I found her, I sent her out of the Mirror Dimension.
I can't believe I nearly did something stupid! As much as I don't like them, making the trauma of some just following an order worse than it already is, is truly cruel and would break a person. I don't plan on doing something that bad. Unless they are willing to go overboard, then I don't care.
When I got home, Asia and my mother were already cooking dinner. When my mother heard me return, she told me to take a bath. I did as she told me since dinner was going to be ready shortly.
After dinner, Asia, Raynare and I went up to my room to do the homework that we received. It was easy and only took thirty minutes to complete. Then Raynare and I started to teach Asia Japanese. And she's a quick learner. It can be attributed to her wanting to hold a conversation with all the friends she made today.
After all the studying, it was finally time to head to bed. Asia headed to her room. Raynare and I weren't tired yet as we are used to staying up late. So, Raynare wanted to have some fun before we headed to bed. She went to the bathroom that I created in my room. When she came out, she was wearing mesmerizing lingerie. Oh! My! The night was young, and we ended up doing it until three in the morning, and it wasn't even midnight!
When I arrived at school the following day, Sona and Tsubaki waited for me at the front gate. Sona told me that she wanted to have a talk with me about what happened yesterday. I just went with her. When we arrived at the Student Council Room, there wasn't anyone there. Sona even asked Tsubaki to leave her with me, as she wanted to talk in private. Tsubaki just nodded and left, but not before glaring at me.
"Now, I just wanted to talk to you about our chess game," Sona said. I was confused why she would want to talk about it. It was then I remembered something. Well, shit. I remembered how important a chess match is to Sona.
"O-Okay. What about it? Are you suspecting that I cheated in the game? Because I didn't," I said. I was feigning ignorance about the situation.
"Don't worry. I know you didn't, because we had a lot of witnesses. Ahem! Anyway, I just wanted to tell you what it means to beat me at a chess match," Sona said with a serious tone.
'Please don't be the same as the show! Please don't be the same as the show! Please be a Raynare situation!' I thought to myself.
'What's wrong with her being your fiancé? Don't you want to have a Harem and become the Harem King? So, what's the matter?' Ddraig said.
'Because I haven't told Raynare! What if she finds out that I suddenly have a fiancé? She might break up with me! And I don't want that!' I told Ddraig.
'Then speak to her after this. It's not like you slept with someone else and cheated on her. You didn't know about the importance of the chess match until now,' Ddraig said.
'Your right! I shouldn't just jump to the conclusion that Raynare would break up with me. Just like that time, I thought she would kill me at the end of the date," I said. I felt a sense of relief.
"I made a deal with my parents a long time ago when I broke my arranged marriage. I told them that I wouldn't marry anyone that isn't smarter than me. For anyone to be a candidate for my hand in marriage, they need to beat me at a game of chess. It didn't matter if the person beat me was a male or a female. Devil or otherwise. That was the deal I made; therefore, I am obligated to follow through," Sona said.
"You're a Devil, right? Then can't you back out of the deal. I mean, you're a Devil," I said.
"That's a preconceived notion about us Devil breaks deals, but that's not true. When we make a deal, we honour it. Only a few would break their deal," Sona said. Hah? I Devil not breaking their deal. That's new.
"That means that you're going to be my fiancé," I said with a sigh. Then I saw Sona looked down.
"Is it so bad to be engaged to me?" Sona said.
"It's not that. Look, you're beautiful. You may have a strict personality, but it doesn't take away your charm. I find it quite alluring. But I already have a girlfriend. If she was to find out that I suddenly have a fiancé, that's not going to be good," I explained.
"I see. Then why don't I speak to her and explain everything?" Sona said. That's weird.
"No! I'll be the one to talk to her," I said.
With our talk done, I went to class just in time. I was nervous about talking to Raynare about such a subject. I hope that when we get home, she won't kill me for suddenly having a fiancé. And I hope she doesn't go and try to kill Sona because if a Fallen Angel were to kill the sister of a Satan, that wouldn't be good.
