When I arrived in the forest near the track and field, I saw Kiba fighting against Bülent, Marion and Shuriya. He was able to beat them with his speed and the mist obscuring the three pawns' vision. I noted from this fight that Kiba over relies on his speed, just like how Koneko over depends on her brute strength. Nonetheless, Kiba was able to best his opponent.
Not far from Kiba was Akeno going against Riser's Queen, Yubelluna. Kiba saw this and decided to aid Akeno, but he was intercepted by Karlamine, one of Riser's knights. Nearby and watching the fight was Isabella and Ravel. They didn't want to get in the way of the fight so, they watched.
Since Ravel and Isabel weren't paying attention to their surroundings, I decided to eliminate them. I know that I said that I was only going to play support, but they are just right there. I wasn't just going to let them be.
I cast Bolt of Balthakk. They didn't even see it coming. The only reason anyone was able to know that they were eliminated was through the announcement.
Yubelluna, who was fighting against Akeno, was distracted when she heard the announcement. This was enough for Akeno to blast her with a bolt of powerful lightning that eliminated her. Sad really. She couldn't use the Phoenix Tears. I wanted to see it in action.
When Riser heard the announcement of the elimination of Ravel and Isabella, he was about to get serious, but when he heard the elimination of his Queen, he got pissed. Not that I care anyway.
Riser then arrived on the rooftop of the school. Below him was his remaining pieces, Ni, Li, Siris and Mihae. When Karlamine saw this, she decided to disengage from combat and head to Riser's side along with the others.
Rias arrived as well with Koneko. Kiba and Akeno decided to stand beside Rias as this was the last stand. Everyone was going all out. I, on the other hand, continued watching the fight. It was brutal.
Kiba had no chance against Riser when he was attacked as Riser didn't give him a moment to use his speed. He was eliminated. Koneko, on the other hand, was able to eliminate Ni and Li at the cost of getting herself eliminated due to exhaustion. It was pretty sad. Koneko had the strength of a Rook while Ni and Li were only Pawns, but because Ni and Li have martial arts training, Koneko had a hard time dealing with them.
The only ones remaining on the battlefield were Rias, Akeno, Riser, Mihae and me. The four of them were duking it out, and they weren't even registering my presence, especially Riser.
Akeno was able to eliminate Mihae from the fight, but this pissed Riser off, and she was eliminated when Riser shot her with a powerful fireball. Rias was now panicking as she was the only one remaining. As I said earlier, no one was registering my presence. Rias didn't even know that I was still around. Until she was about to be eliminated, and I had to shield.
"Rias, you are to stand down and keep yourself from getting eliminated. I want to see what this so-called Phenex can do," I said. Rias was able to retort, but she forgot that she had a Master-Servant contract with me. Therefore she had to do as I say, or she feels immense pain. When she was far enough from the fight that she wouldn't be a hindrance, I faced Riser.
"Hmm! You are nothing but a Human! Who are you to give a Devil a command?!" Riser shouted. He was pissed that I made Rias do what I say, while Rias never listened to him.
"You may be a Devil, but you aren't much," I said. This pissed him off further. I was doing this on purpose because I wanted to see how resistant my scales were to fire. And the best way to test it is against someone that wields Hell-Fire.
Riser blasted me with his Hell Fire, but nothing. I didn't even feel the heat, nor did it cause damage to me. I was hoping that I would be able to see what my scales are capable of, but I was just disappointed.
"Is that all the mighty Phenex is capable of? If so, then you are quite disappointing," I said. In Riser's head, if his flames aren't going to eliminate me, then he would use his Demonic strength to beat the shit out of me. Ha-ha-ha! That was a mistake.
He tried to hit me, but I was able to dodge everything that he sent my way. That's because my instincts are warning me where I'm going to be hit. I avoided that place. The longer the fight went on, the more irritated Riser got. Then it hit him. He can fly. He could use that to his advantage.
"I will say, for a human, you're quite something. It's just too bad that you are incapable of flight," Riser said while flying towards me at high speed. I then jumped to my right to dodge him. He missed and looked back at me. He saw that a cloak appeared on me. To his shock, I was able to fly.
I chased Riser the moment I summoned the Cloak of Levitation. I grabbed the back of his head and smashed it to the ground…I didn't stop my flight. I continued and dragged Riser's face through the pavement. I could hear him scream at the top of his lungs as I dragged him and left chunks of his face on the ground. The pain that he was feeling was never-ending as he regenerated, and I continued dragging him.
Eventually, the pain was too much for Riser, and he passed out. He was then teleported out of the battlefield, and Rias Peerage was announced as the winner.
Rias and I were teleported out, but rather than celebrate, everyone was staring at me due to my brutality against Riser.
"What are you all staring at me for?" I asked.
"N-Nothing!" Kiba shouted. He remembered how he was yelled at me and tried to attack, now he was glad that he didn't, as he didn't want what happened to Riser to happen to him.
Sona was curious about the cloak I was wearing, and she approached me to have a closer look, but the moment she tried to touch it, her hands were smacked by the cloak.
"Ouch! Why did you hit?! I just wanted to feel it," Sona said.
"I didn't hit. The cloak did," I said. Sona looked at me with a glare that said she didn't believe me. I then asked the Cloak of Levitation to get off me.
"The cloak is sentient. It is capable of making its own decision, but it aids me during combat, especially when I need to fly," I said. Then the cloak went to everyone one by one and gave them a…handshake? I mean, it doesn't have a hand, but it's sort of a handshake.
"A sentient magic item. It's fascinating. I don't believe I've seen such an item before. I mean, Sacred Gears are sort of sentient, but that's because of the soul sealed within, not the Sacred Gear itself," Sona said.
"Well, since the Rating Game is over, I'm heading home. I don't have anything to do with Rias anymore," I said. Before I left, I saw Sona and Serafall give me a look, not a bad look, but a pity look. This stopped me in my tracks.
"About that. You know the contract that you signed with Rias, where she became your servant?" Sona said.
"Yeah, of course, I remember. It is the reason that I was allowed to participate in the Rating Game," I replied.
"Yes, that's the one. You see, we thought it would be removed within a month as that was the shortest the contract could function. Well, we used the wrong contract, and you will have Rias as your servant…permanently," Sona said.
"What?!" Rias and I shouted in unison. For the first time, we are actually in sync. I was not too fond of it, and neither is she.
