75.
Burgundy dress. Matching lips.
I'm excited to go to work for once.
When I get here, Edward's office is empty. He doesn't stroll in until noon.
It's strange.
Part of me wants to head over, ask where he's been. Another part doesn't want to be obvious, especially not after he showed up at the bar last night for everyone to see.
Besides, I should stay away, not appear so eager; play it cool.
But I've been playing this game with him for far too long.
I am eager. I don't really care about playing it cool.
I call his office.
76.
"Edward Cullen, speaking."
"Hi."
I can hear his smile through the line. "Ms. Swan. To what do I owe this pleasure?"
Body tingles.
"I realized I don't have your number."
He chuckles. "You just called me."
"Your cell phone."
"What would you use it for?" he asks, sounding amused.
"Only bad things, I'm sure. Give it out to telemarketers. Stuff like that."
He laughs deeply. "And why might I give it to you now?"
"Because there's a chance I'll use it for other bad things. Of the⦠sexting sort."
He gives me his number, and I save it as "Dior."
