Legends of the Wayne Family

Chapter Fifteen – Visit to Central City P2 & Meeting Wally West

Wally West did not have problems talking to people; however, people did have problems being friends with him. This unfortunate fact worsened when Wally recreated Barry Allen's accident which gave him super-speed, which worked exactly as planned- sure it put him in a brief coma but he woke up and just like that had super speed- just like the Flash.

Now, since he'd been learning about his new powers for nearly half a year, he had started visiting and staying with his uncle Barry more and more often. Which was exactly how he found himself waking up at 11AM in the West-Allen household, ducking downstairs to make some breakfast and instead finding Bruce Wayne and his uncle about to leave.

Oh, and there were two kids there as well, one that looked a bit older than Wally and the other who looked like he was eight. Barry reacted first.

'Right Bruce, this is my nephew- Wally West. Wally this is Bruce Wayne.' Wally watched as his uncle looked confused between Mr Wayne and the two kids standing next to the stern looking billionaire. Then the two kids disappeared 'in a flash' just as his uncle did, before his uncle returned and spoke again. 'We're just heading to STAR labs, you okay here on your own Wally? Iris was called in for work today.' Wally absently nodded, shocked about a few things right now- but deciding he could ask Barry later at STAR labs [1].

With that Bruce- The Billionaire! With a capital 'B', and his uncle left the house, leaving behind the eleven-year-old who continued trying to get some breakfast.

It certainly wasn't the weirdest morning he'd ever had- but the morning wasn't over yet so he still had time to shake things up.

If you've ever been saved by the Flash, you know about that weird lightness in your body and the nauseous feeling when you move as fast as the fastest man alive. Normally people get these physical feelings, along with two other reactions.

'Holy shit, I'm gonna vomit.' Jason cried out as he stumbled down to the ground, trying to steady himself so the world would stop moving and he could breathe again. Or.

'Oh my gosh- that was amazing!' Dick also cried out, while he dropped down to the ground, wanting to throw up and ask for another trip from the Flash at the same time.

The two spent the next five minutes sitting or lying on the ground recovering, while they waited for Barry and Bruce to arrive. They both lasted that five minutes before starting to explore the supposed headquarters of the Flash.

It wasn't anywhere as big and dark as the Batcave, however, while the Flash's headquarters was both above ground and had windows, they still shared a few things. Technology and screens covered nearly every wall, glass screens/walls separated certain areas and there was a lot of scientific looking equipment.

'Jason don't touch it!' Called Dick as he noticed his older brother about to start fiddling with one of such scientific pieces of equipment. Jason merely raised an eyebrow in disbelief before noticing a white board and markers, except the white board was completely clear.

'Oh, we can play with this.' Jason announced and quickly made his way over to the white-board, starting to draw on it backwards before Dick realised what he was doing. From where Dick was standing- on the opposite side of the see-through white board, Jason looked like he had drawn devil horns of himself. 'So, much potential.' Jason cried before starting to draw something else.

When Bruce and Barry finally made it to the lab, they found both Jason and Dick drawing on separate white boards. Barry had burst out laughing, starting to help Jason while Bruce had sighed and gone over to Dick, asking him to erase the drawings. It had taken barely a second for Barry to disagree and claim he had to keep this around because "Wally will love this." Once more mentioning his red-headed eleven-year-old nephew.

'We need to talk Barry.' They left Dick and Jason to continue entertaining themselves in the main area of Barry's headquarters, while Bruce and Barry discussed Wally.

'He had an accident in my lab, got in touch with the speed force and now he's basically just like me- except he's eleven and has little control over his powers. But honestly Bruce, Wally's really good- he doesn't have many friends and I'm not sure what his parents are doing, but they aren't helping him. So, Wally stays with me, knows all about my hero job. He's met Supes and a few of the other Leaguers.' Barry explained, shockingly controlling his speed-talking and speaking slow enough that Batman could understand every word.

'Why are you telling me this?' Bruce knew exactly why Flash was explaining Wally's circumstances, Barry saw that Bruce had kids- had brought two of those kids and wow would you look at that, they both were close to Wally's age.

'Since we're going to be having this little meeting for most of the day, maybe Dick and Jason could hang out back at my place with Wally- or here if you'd prefer them to be close by. And they could just all… you know, hang out together.' Bruce considered it further, trying not to instantly shoot down the speedster's plan. His fifteen and nine-year-old son with Barry's eleven-year-old speedster nephew, it was asking for a disaster to happen.

Dick and Jason had honestly forgotten about the random kid that was apparently "kinda" living with the Flash, that was until said boy came running into the Flash's secret headquarters, wearing a pair of yellow converse with a red Flash logo on the side.

Both Dick and Jason had frozen at the random red-head who had just entered a hero's hideout, but ultimately forgot about it when the boy started laughing at what Dick and Jason had been drawing.

A collection of drawings was on the white boards, everything from the devil horns to a Batman mask wear you could hide your face.

'Wow! Uncle Barry has never let me do this!' Then had followed this up by super-speeding, as fast as the Flash, from drawing to drawing before running straight into a wall. Bruce and Barry came out, having heard the commotion and found the strange boy on the ground, blushing and stumbling over his words.

'Sorry uncle Barry.' Said the boy, raising eyebrows from Jason and Dick. A theory started in Dick's mind, wondering if this older boy was actually related to Barry and if so, was that why he had the same powers at the Flash. This idea was dismissed when Dick remembered that Barry's meta-abilities were a result from the particle accelerator and more likely not genetic. Dick and Jason turned to Bruce for answers, their guardian groaned while rubbing the bridge of his nose.

'Boys, this is Wally West- Barry's nephew.' Bruce announced, motioning to Wally who had since gotten back onto his feet and was now staring between Bruce- who knew who he was, and the two kids looking at him strangely.

'How did you get your meta powers? Because as far as I know, they aren't genetic. Unless you got them at the same time as Barry in the particle accelerator explosion? But then, I'm surprised you don't have better control over them.' Dick asked, Bruce smirked proudly at his son's developing deduction. Every one of his kids he tried to teach them detective techniques to, and as he found out, Dick was as natural at it as Damian and Tim had been.

'Um… I got my powers accidentally… I guess. I'm Wally by the way.' Wally stumbled, watching Dick warily before regaining his head and introducing himself to the younger boy. Then like a switch had been flipped, Wally was speeding to Dick's side and suddenly explaining in speedster talk about how he got his powers.

'Well, they're getting along; guess we can continue- did you want Supes in on this meeting to or was that a no?' Jason heard Barry's question as the hero and Bruce left the room, supposedly returning to their meeting. And leaving him and his little brother with some kid- who was apparently Flash's nephew.

'Wait hold up- Wally that's your name, right? You're the Flash's nephew and you just happen to have the same powers as him, what were you actually hit with the same lightning bolt.' Exclaimed Jason, grabbing the younger speedster's attention away from his little brother.

'Oh no, actually- as I was saying, it was a complete accident, kinda, no- well it was an accident- but a happy one. Catching on?' Jason and Dick shock their heads, Jason becoming more annoyed by the minute, suddenly understanding why Damian hadn't wanted to come to see the speedster- especially if the kid version was this much of a confused mess.

'How old are you?' Dick asked, Jason nodded along with the question, going to stand between Dick and Wally while the red-head answered. Maybe this Wally character was actually younger than Dick- that could explain the wondering mind and attention span of a toddler.

'Oh, I'm eleven- but my birthday is soon, in November, then I'm turning twelve. How old are you two?' Dick started to pick up on the eleven-year-old's nervous tendencies, some of which he even did. Fiddling with his fingers while thinking or talking, and he also seemed to tap his foot a lot, as though he had too much energy building up in him.

'I'm fifteen and he's nine, so watch yourself.' Dick gave Jason a kick to his shins for his attitude, then turned back to the interesting speedster kid.

'Do you wanna play?'

Four hours later Bruce and Barry returned for a break during their meeting, to say Flash's headquarters had been royally trashed would be correct. The white boards still covered in drawings, along with pieces of furniture moved around randomly and luckily expensive scientific equipment- untouched.

Barry sighed in relief, at less Cisco wouldn't be killing him this weekend for the damage. In the next second everything was back in its place. In the following minutes Bruce and Barry found where their kids had gone to.

Running through the empty STAR labs, shooting at each other with a modified and safe glimmer gun that Cisco had made as a "fun project". All it did was shoot glitter in a glue-like substance, it was difficult to get off clothes, but ultimately harmless, which saved Barry's life because Dick and Jason (along with Wally) were covered in the stuff.

'Hi uncle Barry!' Called Wally as he dodged a shot from Jason, who had one of two guns right now.

'Hey kiddo.' Barry answered, fearful of what Bruce might do to he and Wally.

Another few hours later, after sending the boys back to Barry's house for movies and to get them away from anymore of Cisco's toys, found the three munching away on popcorn and watching some movie. Bruce and Barry returned to Barry's house in civilian clothing, Bruce more than ready to return to the hotel and get rid of his headache after a say spent between his two kids, a speedster and his nephew.

Instead, Dick, Jason and Wally insisted they stay for dinner at Barry and Iris'. It was well past 9PM before the billionaire and his two kids made it back to the hotel. Both Jason and Dick changed and brushed their teeth without struggle and were in bed before Bruce had even locked all the windows and exterior doors.

'You boys have fun today?' Bruce wondered as he tucked Jason into bed before moving to Dick's bed. Jason nodded in response, eyes fluttering close before Bruce even made it to Dick's bed.

'Yeah, Wally's really fun.' Dick answered, Bruce smoothed his youngest's hair before starting to tuck in the nine-year-old.

'I'm glad you made a new friend.' Bruce absently looked out the window not far from Dick's bed, planning to close the blinds when he noticed the red streak running through Central City.

'I hope Wally will be my best friend.' Dick mumbled before falling asleep as Bruce closed the blinds.

'I'm sure he'd agree to that.' Bruce whispered, wondering at what point meeting and playing with the Flash's nephew had topped meeting the hero.

[1] I'm using STAR labs from the tv show The Flash, because I really don't know much about the Flash dynamics- apologies for die-hard Flash fans. Also, Cisco is from both comics and the show- and is basically Barry's close friend and partner(?), also sometimes a hero… he's awesome.
