Friday had come around and Kim wasn't sure where she stood with Bonnie on a friendly level. The brunette had not been at all hostile towards her which in Kim's eyes was a good thing but it bothered her that the brunette had not acknowledged their time at her house on Wednesday. Kim felt confused. She thought she and Bonnie were bonding but maybe Bonnie had only opened up to Kim because she was heartbroken and vulnerable and Kim happened to be there but now that she was okay, she didn't need Kim anymore.
That thought made Kim sad but she didn't want to push Bonnie at the risk of getting into another fight with her.
When lunchtime came around, Kim couldn't help but frown as she watched Bonnie at the senior table, laughing with Amelia and Amelia's two best friends, whose names Kim didn't know.
"Kim? Kim? What's wrong? Did you and Miss Thing get into a fight again?" Monique asked as she watched her best friend staring at Bonnie.
"Huh? What?" "Okay what's going on Kim? Talk to us," Ron jumped in. "Nothing. I just- I'm not hungry guys. I'm gonna go work on my routine," Kim said and left.
"What do you think is going on with her?" Monique asked Ron. "I don't know but I'm willing to bet it has everything to do with Bonnie," he said.

Kim stretched and pressed play on her phone and started doing the dance routine. Halfway into the routine, Kim heard a familiar voice. "You never take a break do you?" Kim stopped dancing and turned around to see one Bonnie Rockwaller.
Kim stopped the music. "You can never be too perfect. What are you doing here? You still have a few minutes left of lunch. Shouldn't you be with Amelia and her cronies?"
Bonnie chuckled. "Cronies?" Kim shrugged. "They're her friends. Anyway I noticed you left the cafeteria and you didn't seem yourself today so I figured I'd come look for you."
"Didn't know you cared," Kim said as she took a seat in the stands. Bonnie walked over and sat next to her. "You helped me so I figured maybe I would return the favour."
"So tell me. What's troubling that red head of yours?"
"Honestly? You B! I mean we talked and I thought maybe we were getting to a point of maybe becoming friends but then you avoided me all day yesterday and you haven't said a word to me today up until now."
"That's what this is about?" Bonnie asked in an unamused tone. "You wanna know where we stand?" Kim nodded. "Okay. This is where we stand." Without warning, Bonnie held Kim's face and pecked her on the lips. "We're friends." Afterwards, Bonnie simply walked away, leaving a stunned and flushed Kim.

Lunch was almost up when Bonnie left Amelia and her friends for a second time to go to the restroom. Bonnie didn't really have to go. She just wanted to reapply her lipgloss.
The door opened but Bonnie paid no mind to whoever it was that entered. That was until the person cleared their throat.
Bonnie turned around to see Monique. "Ah. Monique. To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"What did you do to Kim?" "What do you mean?" "I mean she's been in a funk all day and she was staring at you so obviously you did something to upset her."
"Well I haven't spoken to Kim since cheer practice on Wednesday so if she's in a funk that has nothing to do with me and if she was staring, I mean who wouldn't? I'm gorgeous," Bonnie said, flipping her hair while walking out of the bathroom.

Kim was glad when the final bell rang. She was glad she could go home. After the little stunt Bonnie pulled in the gynamsium, Kim had trouble concentrating. She swore her lips were still vibrating from when Bonnie kissed her.
As she was about to walk through the school doors, a voice stopped her. "Where are you going Miss Possible? Detention's this way," Miss Young said to her.
Damn it! I forgot I have stupid detention for an hour! With Bonnie! An hour more with that she devil! I know she just kissed me to screw with my head. Friends don't ignore each other. And they definitely don't kiss each other either.
Kim sighed as she sat in her usual seat in detention. She put her head on the desk. Hopefully she could just sleep the entire time.
When the scent of vanilla and cinnamon, filled Kim's nostrils, she knew Bonnie had entered and that she was seated near. Kim slowly raised her head to see Bonnie two seats away. "Hey K," Bonnie whispered. Kim gave her a nervous smile. This is gonna be a long detention. Kim thought.
••••••••
When detention was over, Kim practically bolted out the doors and to her car. She needed to get home. She couldn't be around the brunette any longer. She needed to get home and get that kiss out of her mind.
•••••••
When Bonnie got home, she was as confused as hell. She knew that these past few days she had not been acting like herself, yet she couldn't figure out why. It was as if her brain had been reprogrammed or something because for the life of her, she could not understand why she would choose to tell Kim about her and Brick or why she would show Kim her secret place or even worse. Why she kissed her? Bonnie and Kim were supposed to hate each other. That's how life was. That's how it's always supposed to be. So why wasn't it like that?
Bonnie needed answers. Maybe she should call a therapist. Bonnie dismissed the thought as soon as it crossed her mind. Spending two hours on a couch talking to an absolute stranger about her personal problems? Hard pass.
Bonnie decided she would go swimming. It always helped her clear her mind whenever she was feeling stressed or overwhelmed so she figured she would swim now. Bonnie changed into her white bikini , pulled her hair into a ponytail and dived in.
••••••••••
Kim on the other hand, did what she always did when she was distracted. She worked out. Kim exercised for an hour and a half before stopping and cooling off. Kim took a cool shower then changed into a white tank top with a pair of blue shorts.
She decided to invite Ron over to watch movies. It used to be their Friday after school ritual in middle school but then it became Bueno Nacho since they hit high school.
Ron happily agreed. By the time Ron came over, Kim had The Fault in Our Stars all set up.
"So what are we watching?" Ron asked. "The Fault in Our Stars."
"What's it about?" Ron asked. "These two teens battling cancer decide to visit a reclusive author in Amsterdam before their time is up and they fall in love."
"Cool," Ron said. "Popcorn?" Kim asked. Ron smiled and took a handful of popcorn and put it in his mouth.
•••••••••
As the credits rolled down the screen, Kim looked at Ron. "So you know how you and Monique think I've been acting weird?"
Ron nodded. "Well I've been acting weird because of Bonnie."
"Bonnie? Did she hit you again?!" Ron was getting worked up. "No no. She and I are actually friends now I think."
Ron choked on the soda he was drinking. "You what?!" "I'm about to tell you something but it's a secret. If Bonnie found out I told anyone especially you, she would maim both of us."
Ron made a zipping gesture. "She broke up with Brick. Apparently he cheated on her."
"Brick cheated on Bonnie?" Ron couldn't believe it. Sure Bonnie was a bitch but she was hella attractive and it was no secret that all the cheerleaders were sexually active. Ron bet having sex with Bonnie had to be quite an enjoyable experience. One he fantasized about a few times.
"Wait Bonnie actually told you that?" Kim nodded. "She was crying in the bathroom after detention and I convinced her that telling me would be better than spending the rest of the afternoon sobbing in the bathroom and she went for it."
"Wow!" Ron couldn't believe it. After a few minutes Ron realized that all of this information still didn't quite explain why she was weird earlier.
"What does Brick cheating on Bonnie have to do with you being weird earlier?" "Well I thought we were friends after she invited me to her house on Wednesday and we kind of bonded but then she ignored me all day yesterday and most of today."
"You went to her house?!" All of this was shocking to Ron. Bonnie actually wanted to hang out with Kim? It didn't make sense. Especially since Bonnie had made it her life's mission to make his best friend's life a living hell ever since kindergarten.
"I know. It surprised me too but so did she," Kim said smiling slightly. This didn't go unnoticed by Ron. "So? Why did this make you weird today again?"
Kim rolled her eyes and sighed. "Well after all our talking and friend like behaviour she hugged me but then she came to school as if nothing happened and I just needed to know if we were friends or not you know?"
"Why does Bonnie not being your friend bother you?" "Well because we're too old to be secret friends. We're either friends or not and if not then that's fine but I'm not gonna be her friend in secret and be her punching bag in public so I needed her to let me know what it was. I know how important her image and the food chain is to her so if she didn't want to be my friend I needed her to tell me that and not keep me in the dark."
Ron nodded. It was taking him a while to process all this information. Kim and her rival were friends? And this was because Brick cheated on Bonnie? One thing Ron knew for sure was that high school was so the drama.
•••••••
Kim didn't tell Ron about the kiss because she didn't need to. Right? This was what was keeping her up hours after her conversation with Ron.
It was just a friendly kiss right? Friends kissed right? They did it in France. But this wasn't France and Kim had never kissed Monique or Ron or any of her other friends. So why did Bonnie kiss her? Although was it really a kiss? It was just a two second peck on the lips so it probably meant nothing. Kim shook her head and rolled over in bed, trying to will her mind to shut off so she could get some sleep.
