Ahahaha, almost a year since the last update, huh? Well, there are a couple of reasons. Firstly, I was busy completing my final year of university, which meant that I had little time to write. When I did, I chose to prioritise other stories. Secondly, much like with KOTM, I wanted to wait to see what crazy new powers they were going to gift Godzilla in this one.

Just a note before we begin: since the last chapter back in July, it was suggested I use different names to distinguish between the two Godzillas. I've settled on using Shin Godzilla to refer to, well, Shin Godzilla, and Titanus Gojira to refer to the Legendary incarnation.

A big thank you to those who reviewed since the last update: Metro (Dancou-Maryuu), x_uve, Cimar of Turalis Wildehopps, HPLurvkriff

Zootopia News Network report

"This is Zootopia News Network, live with Peter Moosebridge."

"Good afternoon. The previously-unidentified monster now called Shin Godzilla has emerged just off the shores of Zootopia and is currently en route towards the city again. David Koalabell is currently at the scene in Southern Savanna Central. David, can you tell us what is happening?"

Shin Godzilla was visible from the shore of Southern Savanna Central. Each step it took through the water was slow, causing massive water sprays. In the mid-ground was the Bunnyburrow Link, the train line that ran from Bunnyburrow to Zootopia's Grand Central Station. Much closer to the koala reporter, it was chaos. Mammals were running in a panic away from the looming creature.

"Thank you, Peter. I'm here in Southern Savanna Central, where the Mayor has issued an evacuation order. The ZPD has urged residents not to panic, but as you can see, that has not calmed fears, and mammals have started to stampede."

"What can you tell us, David?"

"It appears to be at least twice the size it was before. It's not moving fast, possibly because of its massive size. We have heard from the Mayor's office that they expect that if it continues on its current path, it will walk straight through the Bunnyburrow Link Line within the next fifteen minutes. I've been told that the Zootopia Transit Authority has already closed the tunnel to all rail traffic. Back to the studio."

"Thank you, David. We'll keep you informed as the story continues to unfold. In related news, pop star Gazelle has begun a fundraiser to help those displaced by the current Titan event occurring in Zootopia…"

Precinct One Evacuation Point

All available officers had been recalled to aid the evacuation efforts. Even Clawhauser was helping.

"Okay… yes, ma'am, you need to line up," Clawhauser told an ibex who had her fawns with her. "They'll get you out of the city as quickly as they can…"

Nick and Judy had joined the queue, but not with the intention of leaving the city. They were there because it was the only way they could get to the ZPD officers that they were there to help.

After a short wait, the pair reached Clawhauser.

"Hey, Judy! Nick!" Clawhauser piped up. He stopped to think for a moment, staring at them. "You're… not here to get out, are you?"

"Have you ever tried to get this one to run away from a situation?" Nick raised an eyebrow.

"Hah, I wouldn't even try it," Clawhauser chuckled. "I take it you wanna see the Chief?"

"Yep," Judy nodded.

Judy's affirmation changed Clawhauser's cheerful expression to a worried look.

"He won't be happy you're not doing as you were told," Clawhauser warned.

"But he has tried to get her to run from a situation, so…" Nick pointed out.

"Good point," Clawhauser laughed. "He's in the tent. How's your hearing, Judy?"

Judy rubbed at her ears before answering.

"Coming back, slowly," Judy replied. "I can hear you, but there's still ringing in my ears."

"Well, if you can hear me, you might want to take ear plugs in there with you, because Chief Bogo is not happy," Clawhauser warned.

"Hey, big monster stomping its way towards the city. Just another day in paradise, right?" Nick quipped.

With that, Nick and Judy left Clawhauser to deal with the fleeing citizens and headed for the tent Clawhauser had indicated to. They entered and found Bogo standing at a screen with an image of the creature, as well as a video feed to Lionheart.

"… Serizawa estimates that this thing is going to make its way through the Savanna Central District, and our projections put Little Rodentia right in its path!" Lionheart said. "Is there no way you can send any small officers to help there?"

"All of our officers are busy evacuating this District," Bogo replied. "We just don't have the mammalpower to spare at the moment, nor do we have a mammal of suitable size to assist. We have been in contact with Chief Shrewton, and she told me that they have everything under control right now. The last thing they need is a mammal unsuitable for that District inciting a scurry during a tense time."

Judy knew that Bogo was talking about the first time she had ever disobeyed orders in order to pursue a suspect. The chase had taken her through Little Rodentia, and as a consequence, she had unintentionally incited a scurry in the District. Bogo had reprimanded her for it. She suspected that Bogo wasn't bringing this up just to mitigate the chaos that might ensue should a larger officer be sent there. It seemed to be a pointed statement intended to let Judy know that Bogo knew she was there against his orders. As if to confirm her suspicions, Bogo's eyes turned to Nick and Judy, but he quickly returned his attention to the video feed.

"I won't pretend I'm happy about the plan to unleash a military force on the streets of Zootopia in response either," Bogo pointed out.

"What would you have me do, Akida?" Lionheart asked. "We can't exactly ask this monster politely to turn back around and go back to the ocean! Military force wasn't my first choice either, but the President has assessed the situation and the Animalian Senate agreed to it."

Bogo placed a hoof on his forehead in frustration.

"If it makes you any happier, I'm staying until the city is evacuated," Lionheart continued. "They need somebody with eyes down here to keep an eye on the situation. When the civilians have evacuated, get yourself and your officers out of there too."

"The ZPD will be needed here," Bogo retorted. "What about opportunists taking advantage of the situation?"

Lionheart laughed humourlessly.

"My friend, if this doesn't work, then there won't be anywhere to loot or commit crimes," Lionheart said. With that, the feed cut out and Bogo turned around to directly face Nick and Judy.

"What were my orders, Hopps?" Bogo asked.

"I heard enough to know that 'go home' isn't an option, Chief," Judy replied. "At least let us help Little Rodentia out. You haven't got any officers smaller than me and I can supervise to make sure it goes smoothly."

Bogo ran his hoof down his face, though whether in contemplation or exasperation, Judy couldn't tell.

"Fine," Bogo relented. "Go and make sure that the Little Rodentia Precinct is evacuating smoothly. And once you're done, get out of the city. That's an order, you two…"

"Yes, sir!" Nick and Judy chimed in unison.

As Judy and Nick left the tent, Nick's phone began to ring. He fished it out of his pocket and glanced at the caller ID.

"It's Mom," Nick told Judy. He answered: "Hey, Mom!"

"Nick, are you and Judy safe?" Viola asked, fear lacing her voice.

"We're fine," Nick affirmed. "We're just going to help Little Rodentia evacuate, and then we'll be right out ourselves. Where are you?"

"I'm on the boat heading for West Tri-Burrow County," Viola replied. "Please, get out safely. Both of you."

"We'll see you on the other side, Mom," Nick said.

South Zootopian Shore

Shin Godzilla had reached the shallows, and with one lumbering step, it destroyed the Bunnyburrow Link line as it turned away from the city, towards Bayou Bay. Debris rained from the ruined train track into the water, but it seemed unbothered by the demolished obstacle – to Shin Godzilla, it was less than a mammal being caught in a single strand of spider-web. Its lengthy tail, tipped with a bloody and bony growth, whipped behind it like a cat's.

Boats moored at harbours and piers rocked as Shin Godzilla's steps caused tidal waves to crash against them. Some boats directly in Shin Godzilla's path were crushed underfoot, some were beached, and some were unceremoniously pushed into buildings lining the shore.

Within minutes, Shin Godzilla had reached the shore alongside Haymarket in Savanna Central. Mammals observing its movements would have been forgiven for assuming that it was headed towards the Marshlands, and thus the evacuations of the main Districts were rendered pointless.

Which is why they were dismayed when it stopped dead in its tracks and turned towards Haymarket. Each step slow and methodical, as if it knew where it needed to go.

Within minutes of its change of direction, Shin Godzilla had reached landfall. As it transitioned from the sandy shores of Haymarket to the asphalt of the roads, Shin Godzilla stopped. For a moment, observers thought it might have decided against going further.

Then it reared its head and let out a loud, bellowing roar.

GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOON!

Little Rodentia

Nick and Judy were not normally allowed into Little Rodentia, but Chiefs Bogo and Shrewton had given the okay for them to help guide the fleeing rodents out of their District before Shin Godzilla got there.

"No, you can't go back in to get something you've forgotten," Judy told a gerbil trying to re-enter the district.

"Follow the police signs, they'll get you far enough away," Nick added. "Please try not to scurry!"

The District had been almost been completely emptied, with the local police precinct leading the evacuation being one of the only presences left there. Given the fact that Shin Godzilla's advancing form was easily visible over the tops of the buildings leading away from Little Rodentia and towards the western coast of Zootopia, it was easy for fleeing mammals to become panicked, so Nick and Judy had counted their lucky stars that the panic had been kept relatively under control.

DOOOM… DOOOOM…. DOOOOOM… DOOOOOM…

The sounds of the titan's footsteps grew louder with each step.

"That's everyone!" Shrewton called as he left the District's gate.

"Okay, pull everyone back!" came the booming call of Officer McHorn. "Hopps! Wilde! Get out of here!"

"Let's go." Nick nodded to Judy, and the two retreated from Little Rodentia.

It was mere minutes after the evacuation was completed that Shin Godzilla arrived at the perimeter of Little Rodentia. Every careful step it took shook the ground – and as it came closer to the district, its steps acted as if they were a miniature earthquake, collapsing buildings within the district.

And with a single step, it flattened Little Rodentia completely.

Emergency Shelter, City Hall

"We have a second sonar signal."

Jack Savage sat at a computer, watching the sonar on screen as it blipped. Serizawa appeared behind him, with Sora following.

"{Is it Gojira?}" Serizawa asked.

"{The bio-acoustics match Gojira, yes,}" Jack replied in Hinodese. "{Look at his approach vector.}"

"{He's going to come ashore,}" Sora remarked. "{And according to the projection, that will be the south-eastern shore of Sahara Square.}"

"In Mammalian, please!" Lionheart said.

"Gojira is coming ashore," Jack repeated.

Lionheart placed a paw on his forehead.

"How long do we have?" he asked.

"Minutes."

"Sir, the city is evacuated," Mallory interjected. "We need to go."

As the remaining mammals filed out of the room, Lionheart stopped and stared one last time at the images on the screen showing Shin Godzilla in the aftermath of Little Rodentia's destruction.

South-East Shore, Sahara Square

The city had already been cleared, but had any mammals remained behind to witness it, they would have seen three rows of rocklike spikes breaching the ocean surface and growing closer to the shoreline. As Titanus Gojira approached, its massive size dragged water with it, causing a tsunami that would hit the shore just before Titanus Gojira reached it.

Within moments, Titanus Gojira made landfall, standing up in the shallows of Sahara Square's sealine. Several steps brought it in line with the Palm Hotel – the only building in the district that was taller than the Titan.

As it moved forward, its gaze scanned towards the City Centre, straight at Shin Godzilla.

A few more steps brought Titanus Gojira to the border of Savanna Central. It stopped there, growled, and then let out an almighty roar.

SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-oooonk!

Apologies for this taking so long! I wasn't 100% happy with this chapter for a really long time. Then life caught up to me. But… there's four chapters left, so we're approaching the endgame now.

I hope to update soon, so see you next time!
