A.N Hello everyone! I'm so glad you're enjoying my story! Aailyah is my favorite OC I've written so far, honestly I want to be her when I grow up! Thank you for all the following and reviews, they keep me writing! I've got this story written up to the end of season four, so I'm just trying to finish it so I can start it's sequel with the Originals!
Chapter Three
Elijah and Aailyah were curled up on the loveseat in the living room reading when they heard a knock on the door. Aailyah lit up and jumped out of Elijah's arms to race to the door. She threw it open and practically tackled Niklaus, much to Elijah's amusement. Klaus managed to catch her and started laughing.
"I missed you too, Alli." He chuckled, trying to move forward, only to be stopped by an invisible barrier. Klaus rolled his eyes."Really?"
"You might be comfortable with strangers wandering in and out of your home Niklaus but we are not." Elijah smirked."Especially since we plan to store some particularly valuable goods here."
"Aah yes, the Doppelganger." Niklaus mused, gently setting Aailyah down. "I assume you have a plan?" he asked his sister-in-law.
"Of course!" Aailyah smiled brightly, "But it is better discussed indoors. Sophie!" she called into the mansion, a young witch quickly rushing to the door. "Could you please invite Niklaus inside, and have someone get his bags? Oh, and please have someone show his friends to the guest house." she added, finally noticing the young woman and elderly man standing behind Nik.
"Of course." Sophie turned to the door. "Please come in, Niklaus."
"Thank you darling." Nik flashed his dimples at her as he stepped inside, embracing
Elijah before following his siblings to the living room, ignoring the companions he brought with him, much to the young girl's annoyance. Once they were all settled in the living room he turned to his sister once more. "Now, tell me about my doppelganger." he demanded. Aailyah simply raised an eyebrow and curled farther into Elijah's side. Nik rolled his eyes, knowing exactly what she was waiting for. As much as she enjoyed bossing others around, she did not take kindly to being given orders. "Please." he grumbled, sipping his scotch when she smiled beautifully at him.
"Her name is Elena Gilbert, she is seventeen years old and lives in Mystic Falls. She lives with her aunt, Jenna Sommers, and her half brother, Jeremy Gilbert, and attends Mystic High. Nothing very interesting about her beyond her bloodline. Oh, she is continuing the Doppelganger tradition of flitting between two brothers, the Salvatores, and has a witch friend, Bonnie Bennett, who could be a problem. Our best course of action is to take her right away."
"So what's the plan, love?" Niklaus drawled.
"First thing tomorrow we are going to take Dr. Montgomery to the hospital and compel him a room with everything he needs to operate on Miss Gilbert. As soon as we get him set up, we will retrieve the doppelganger and take her to the hospital for her testing. She'll stay with us until the surgery and then we'll perform your ritual."
"Of course, we will need to distract the bodyguards, Stefan and Damon." Elijah mused, playing with the ends of Aaliyah's hair, who froze and then slumped further into Elijah's side.
"I forgot about them." She grumbled, pout sticking out while Elijah and Niklaus laughed at her.
"Perhaps you should call that boy, Slater, was it? Ask him to call the boys and send them on a goose chase?"
"Like what?" she asked.
"The boy was asking if they could remove the curse from the moonstone, perhaps they can go after that."
"The moonstone is with Kathrine, I'm sure she won't mind playing along." Aailyah hummed.
"But what if they manage to get my moonstone?" Klaus cut in. Aailyah cocked her head to the side consideringly.
"According to our sources, the moonstone is with Katerina in a tomb underneath the old church; if a vampire goes in, they can't get out. They'll never risk going in and Katerina will never hand it over willingly. Just in case we can have Sophie make a fake and switch the stones." Nik and Elijah both nodded.
"Better safe than sorry." Elijah said. Aailyah nodded and rose from the couch, kissing both men on the cheek.
"I'm gonna go talk to Kathrine, I'll get Sophie started on the moonstone." She paused at the door and turned to smile at Klaus."It's good to see you Nik." He smiled at her. All of his siblings had been undaggered in 1715, when Aailyah finally tracked down the coffins and daggers and disposed of them. The Mikealsons had fought viscously but eventually calmed down. It took years but they eventually forgave each other while they built the city of New Orleans side by side. All except Finn, who had left immediately to find Sage and never returned. After they'd been chased out of New Orleans, they'd separated to hide from Mikael and very rarely came together after, and never for very long, though they all kept in touch. Rebekah stayed with Klaus, and Aailyah and Elijah stuck together. Kol flitted from sibling to sibling whenever the mood struck him, and occasionally struck out on his own. They all kept in touch, but Aailyah hadn't actually seen Nik in two years.
"It's good to be back." He grinned. She gave one last blinding smile before leaving the room. Klaus immediately turned to his brother with a wicked smirk. "So brother, tell me how two vampires an eighth of your age managed to defeat you."
Kathrine wandered towards the entrance of the tomb, lighting up when she saw the woman leaning on the wall across from the barrier.
"Lyah!"
"Hello luv." Aailyah smiled, tossing her a blood bag. Kathrine tore into it hungrily and looked up at her hopefully.
"Thanks, got any more?"
"Not right now, but I'll bring you some later." Aailyah said, sitting down just before the border. Kathrine did the same on the other side. "So, was this your master plan?" She asked, glancing around the dreary chamber.
"Not exactly." Kathrine sighed. "Short version, I found out about the human doppelganger, Elena-'' Kathrine made a face making Aailyah chuckle- "And I changed a girl into a vampire and got a kid to trigger his werewolf gene. I was gonna hand them all over to Klaus in exchange for peace, but there was a complication with the moonstone. The Salvatores managed to knock me out and throw me in here with the moonstone." Kathrine grumbled.
"Kathrine Pierce played by her ex flames. That's a twist." Aailyah teased.
"Shut up." Kathrine huffed, biting back a grin. "They got lucky."
"Wanna screw with them?"
"Always."
"Perfect. First thing you should know, Klaus is here." Kathrine tensed but Aailyah shook her head. "I figured out your plan and convinced him to let you go." Kathrine gaped at her.
"Really?"
"Really. You're free, Katerina." Aailyah promised. A slow, blinding smile spread across Katherines face.
"Any chance you can get me out of here too?"
"My witch is working on it." Aailyah promised.
"Thank you, Lyah." Kathrine said sincerely.
"You're my friend, Kat. I wont see you hunted if I can stop it. Besides, I wasn't gonna see all your hard work go to waste."
"You know, her friends aren't gonna give her up without a fight. They practically worship her, especially Damon and Stefan." Kathrine warned.
"Can't imagine why. Speaking of, I'm gonna need you to distract them tomorrow."
"What's happening tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow Damon will get a tip from one of my vampires on how to remove the spell from the moonstone."
"Which will lead them here."
"Yep. Think you can keep them busy?"
"Of course." Kathrine said with a smirk.
"Perfect. Since they are so persistent, I do want to give you a fake moonstone, just in case." Aailyah said, showing off the replica. Kathrine hesitated for a second but tossed her the original. Aailyah smiled at her gratefully, she knew how hard it was for her to not be in control. "Thank you Kat."
"No problem, just get me out of here soon."
"I promise." Aailyah swore. "Now, tell me what you've been up to since you got to Mystic Falls." Kathrine grinned and launched into her story.
"Slater just called, Rose-Marie and Elena are coming to see him, apparently the doppelganger had some questions that she wanted answered. We can meet them there and grab the doppleganger." Aailyah announced as she strolled into their kitchen the next morning. "And Kathrine says the Salvatores came by this morning, they'll probably come by soon."
"Then what are we waiting for?" Nik jumped up from the couch, setting his sketchbook down. "Let's go." He walked towards the door determinedly. Elijah sighed and set his book down, carefully dog-eating his place.
"Never a dull moment with him." Elijah grumbled. Aailyah laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck to peck him on the corner of his lips.
"Leave him be darling, he's been waiting a thousand years for this. He's excited." Elijah smirked and pulled her closer by her belt loops, kissing her thoroughly.
"And whatever shall we do with ourselves when it's all over?" Elijah whispered. Aailyah smirked and brushed her nose against his own. Her lips had just brushed against Elijahs when Niklaus yelled from outside.
"Let's go! My doppelganger isn't getting any younger!" Aailyah chuckled and pulled away, much to Elijah's disappointment.
"We'd better go." Aailyah whispers, pecking his cheek before leading him towards the car.
Aailyah and Elijah sat on a couch in the Slaters' apartment talking quietly while Klaus snooped through his vast collection of books. Klaus, bored, finally broke the silence.
"How much longer til-" He paused, and they all listened to footsteps climbing the stairs and heading toward the apartment. They waited as someone pounded on the door.
"Slater! Slater, it's Rose open up!" Rose-Marie yelled through the door. "He's not home, sorry." She said to whoever was with her. Elijah, Aailyah, and Klaus perked up as the doppelganger chimed in.
"Mm-mm, no. We didn't come all the way out here for nothing." There was a pause before Rose-Marie forced the doors open.
"After you." She snapped at the doppleganger. They both walked in and froze at the sight of Aailyah lounging on the couch, scrolling through her phone.
"A- Aailyah!" The doppelganger stammered, stumbling backwards. Aailyah glanced up, bored.
"Miss Gilbert." she greeted dismissively, returning to texting Kol. Rose took off as soon as she laid eyes on the regal looking woman, only to be caught by Elijah.
"Rose-Marie." He greeted her, leading her back into the room. Elena whipped around at his voice, the color draining from her face.
"Elijah?" She nearly whimpered. Elijah gave a sarcastic smile.
"In the flesh." he drawled, forcing Rose down into a chair and giving her a stern look, clearly telling her to stay put, before strolling to the couch and wrapping his arm around his wife.
"Y-you were dead." Elena stuttered. Aaliyah's eyes snapped up, glaring at her mirror image, who flinched at the ice in her gaze.
"You'd do well not to remind me, little girl. You will be punished for your hand in it." she practically snarled.
"Calm yourself, darling." Elijah soothed, running his hand up and down her arm, before turning his gaze to her sub par copy. "Luckily for you, my demise is nothing but a minor setback in the grand scheme of things. My family would be very unhappy if you were more successful." Aailyah growled in rage at the very thought, and Elijah's arm tightened slightly.
"How could you survive that?" Elena asked.
"Come now love, it'll take more than that to kill an Original." A new voice drew from behind him. Rose whimpered and started to cry silently as her worst nightmare entered the room. Aailyah rolled his eyes at his dramatics and muttered 'drama queen' under her breath, only to be hushed by both boys. Elena starred as the man turned from the couple to face her. "Hello lovely, I'm Klaus." he smirked at her. Elena shivered in fear, the three vampires emitted so much power without even trying. Elena took a deep breath and straightened her shoulders.
"I want to make a deal." she said, wincing when her voice cracked. Identical smirks appeared on all three faces.
"Do you?" Elijah questioned, playing with Aaliyah's hair.
"Yes." Elena snapped. "My co-operation in exchange for my family's safety."
"Interesting offer." Klaus chuckled.
"So we have a deal?" Elena asked.
"We didn't say that." Aailyah snapped. "Sadly, doppelganger, you have nothing we can't get ourselves."
"But-"
"While your cooperation is prefered, it is not required, and even if it is, all we'd have to do is rip that pretty vervain necklace off of your neck and compel your silence."
"But I have the moonstone-"
"Do you?" Klaus purred. "Where?"
"Well…" Elena hesitated. "I don't have it, but Kathrine does-"
"Does she? And are you absolutely certain of that?" Their smirks widened into full on grins.
"What will it take?" Elena sighed, defeated.
"We wish to continue the doppelganger line." Aailyah said.
"You… You want me to have a baby?" Elena asked, aghast.
"Of course not, we'd never force anyone to bear a child unwillingly. We're not that kind of monster." Aailyah snorted, as if offended by the idea. "All we want is your DNA."
"You want my eggs." Elena breathed, piecing it together.
"That's right. If you donate your eggs we guarantee that not only will your family remain untouched, but you will survive the ritual."
"H-how?"
"We've had some of our contacts brew up a potion, it will essentially bring you back to life after you die." Elijah said.
"Why didn't you use that for Kathrine?"
"We had every intention to, unfortunately Katerina didn't stick around long enough to find out."
"What will happen with the- the eggs?"
"Essentially they are a backup plan, I must admit we were caught off guard with Katerinas escape. If something goes wrong, the children will be monitored but live in peace until the next doppelganger pops up." Aailyah mused.
"But they won't be hurt?" Elena checked.
"We are not monsters, Miss Gilbert, we would never go after a child." Elijah said firmly.
"So, if I did this, what would happen?"
"We flew in the best doctor in the business for you. Today we'll go to the hospital and run some tests, then we'll start you on medication for the next five weeks. Dr. Montgomery will put you under and extract the eggs. We'll give you some blood and you'll be good as new. Then you will stay with us for a week until it's time for the ritual." Aailyah explained.
"Can I see my friends?"
"Not in person, we'll be staying at our mansions for your safety, but you're welcome to call them. After we disable the tracking chip." Klaus agreed easily. It's not as if she could be tracked with magic, there was a rather impressive cloaking spell on the mansion, and Sophie was waiting in the car reading to place a spell on Elena as well. Elena thought quietly for a few minutes before making a choice.
"Deal."
"Wonderful. So long as no one interferes with the ritual, your family and friends will remain untouched." Klaus flashed over and pushed a pressure point on her neck, making her pass out instantly. He then turned to Rose, who paled even further, if possible.
"And now you." He smirked.
