The Flash: Armageddon Chapter 1 Earth-616 Prime, Central City 2031
The streets of Central City are in flames. Innocent people are running and fleeing in terror.
"Look at them. Praying for a miracle that isn't coming. Who knows? Maybe it's my curse to leave a betrayal behind only to find a greater one across the stars. They could have stopped this. None of them had the strength to do what must be done. But I do."
This was none other that the alien being Despero as he activates his belt and teleports away as the City continues to burn.
*Cues The Flash Armageddon title card*
The Present,
Barry Allen and Caitlin Snow are en route to the CC Jitters coffee shop.
"So what's it like walking to get coffee when you can run 4,000 miles an hour?" Asked Caitlin
"It's nice to slow down every once in a while. Even as The Flash. Is Frost joining us?" he asked.
"No. Last night I sent her on a two week Eat Pray Love tour because she's still pining over Mark Blaine." Explained Caitlin
"I thought she was mad at him ass summer" Barry wondered.
"And Fall but she still misses him even though I told her he's still a jerk who is never gonna change." said Caitlin.
"Let me guess she didn't care?" Asked Barry.
"Yep. The heart wants what the heart wants as she said" Explained Caitlin.
"She's always been such a romantic." Added Barry.
The two head inside, grab their coffee and take a seat.
"I have learned one thing from Frost going through all this. For the first time since Ronnie passed, I think I'm really ready to get back out there. I'm gonna start dating again." said Caitlin.
"Sounds awesome. I'm really happy for you" said Barry.
"Thank you. Now if only I can get some oat milk for my coffee" she said as an alert on Barry's phone went off.
"Two bullet trains on the Calvert railway are gonna collide." said Barry.
"That's 50 miles south of Keystone City" said Caitlin.
"Yeah" Barry then speeds off as he runs towards the incoming trains and effortlessly rescues every single passenger. From both trains in what appears to be a new record of speed.
The TV as the coffee shop plays a news broadcast of The Flash saving the day again.
"Ladies and gentlemen authorities are now saying that despite a massive explosion caused by today's railway accident, no lives were lost during this horrific event. It appears the city has The Flash to thank once more"
As the patrons applaud, Barry arrives back just in time.
"That was...amazing! You got everyone to safety in what? 20 seconds?" Asked Caitlin.
"12 actually. Try your coffee" said Barry as she also managed to put in the oat milk for Caitlin.
Caitlin takes a sip as she says
"Wow. You have seriously leveled up. If only you could teach Frost to do the same. I mean bypassing anyone who calls themselves Chill Blaine which I think would save her a lot of heartbreak" said Caitlin.
"I mean Frost dating anyone is a first for her right? And everyone you dated before Ronnie I'm guessing was you leveling up. You know it's a process. Maybe just give Frost space to do the same." said Barry as he speeds off.
Caitlin could only smile as she then pulls out her phone she goes to her contact list and scrolls down to one name she has labeled, "B. Banner".
She texted: Would you like to meet me for a cup of coffee?
B. Banner: Sure when?
Caitlin: How's tomorrow sound?
B. Banner: Perfect.
Caitlin smiled as she leaves for work.
Meanwhile a convoy of black vehicles with the S.W.O.R.D logo marked are en route to Central City with Nick Fury leading the convoy.
"Woo? Lewis? What have you got for me on this alien threat?" he asked.
"Satellites picked up it should arrive tomorrow in Central City. Don't know when exactly" said Darcy Lewis.
"Is there anything big planned for tomorrow?" Fury asked.
"Just some technology convention. Something Tony Stark would do but...more flashy" said Jimmy Woo.
"Alright. I'll give Romanoff and her team the heads up. Someone get me agents Danvers and Rambeu on the line" said Fury as his convoy continues their route.
The Quinjet
Natasha had the Quinjet set in auto pilot as she slept throughout the night after she Peter Parker, Yelena Belova and Kate Bishop flew off to Central City. She felt the sun ray on her face as she yawns and wakes up. She turned to see her three young teammates still fast asleep. She couldn't help but smile as she was reminded of seeing her kids asleep.
"Kids" she said to herself.
She then was receiving an incoming transmission from Fury.
"Go ahead" she said.
"Good morning Agent Romanoff. Get a good night's sleep?" Fury asked.
"More or less." she then looked back at the three.
"We've gotten an update from Intel. It appears we were slightly off course when we said the alien entity would enter earth some time today. Satellites are now picking up for a date for tomorrow." said Fury.
"Tomorrow where?" Natasha asked.
"CCTC" said Fury.
"Jesus the amount of acronyms. You mind being a bit more specific?" Asked Natasha
"Woo! What the hell does the CCTC stand for again?" Asked Fury.
"Central City Technology Convention" said Woo.
"Yeah uh that. So now your mission is to take the response team over to Central City and set up shop there while we make our way to you." said Fury.
"Copy that." said Natasha as Nick hangs up.
"Well thank God I came prepared" said Natasha as she looks at the duffle bags in the back of the Quinjet.
Natasha looks on the GPS as she was still a ways away from Central City. I mean it wasn't like it was across the street or anything from New York.
"Hang on kids. We'll be there soon."
Natasha hits the afterburner as she continues the course.
