The Flash Armageddon Part 4
The day of the convention has finally arrived. It was in full swing as scientists all over the country gathered to show off inventions and their contributions to the science community.
Nick Fury was on comms as he had S.W.O.R.D agents around every corner of the convention center incognito as just your average security guards.
"Comm check" he said.
"Secure" said Jimmy Woo
"Safe and sound" said Darcy.
"Any particular reason why the alien would show up here of all places?" Asked Fury.
"No idea. Maybe just large gathering of people would be enough to draw The Flash out here or something?" Asked Darcy.
"Why the hell would he want The Flash?" Asked Fury.
"I mean he is the local superhero around these parts" said Jimmy.
As Nick Fury was checking the perimeter, he bumps into Ray Palmer.
"Whe the hell?" Asked Fury.
"Oh. Sorry my bad." apologized Ray.
"It's Palmer. Right?" Asked Fury
"Yes it is. Have we met?" Asked Ray.
"Aren't you being interviewed today. It's just that I've seen your face plastered on posters." said Nick.
"Indeed I am. Do you work here as security?" Asked Ray.
"As a matter of fact I do. It's my first day on the job" Explained Nick making a cover story.
"Well in that case, thanks for keeping all of us safe. Take care!" said Ray taking his leave.
"Who the hell was that?" Asked Darcy on comms.
"Doctor Raymond Palmer. Tech genius and The A.T.O.M." Explained Nick.
"Isn't he just a weird amalgamation of Iron Man and Ant Man?" Asked Darcy.
"Wait so Dr. Palmer has a shrinking suit too?" Asked Jimmy.
"Keep on eye on him. I want a visual on the man during this interview of his." said Nick.
"Copy that" said Jimmy.
"Any word on Danvers and Rambeau?" Asked Nick.
"No word yet sir" said Darcy.
"Keep me posted" said Fury.
Elsewhere,
As Natasha and Strange grab coffee and donuts, Peter and the others watch the news to see if there's anything big going on today.
"Marc we need to talk about last night" said Peter.
"I saved your life Parker." Marc argues
"BY THROWING A MOONERANG IN SOMEONE'S EYE?" shouts Peter.
"He lived didn't he?" Asked Marc
"*sigh* Look if we're all gonna work as a team, we need to be on the same page. First off, no killing. We're heroes not killers. Second, we watch each other's backs. No one gets left behind." Explained Peter.
"And you're saying this now because?" Asked Yelena.
"When I was younger and before my Uncle Ben died, he told me these words. With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility." Explained Peter.
"Well it's not like I have non lethal rounds" said Yelena pulling out her gun.
"But you can make non lethal shots. Same goes for you Kate." Explained Peter.
"Khonshu always did say how noble you are" said Marc.
"I'm just trying to do whats right. Not what has to be done" said Peter.
The hotel door opens as Strange and Natasha return with coffee and donuts.
"Yaayy donuts!" said Kate
"You kids getting along alright?" Natasha jokes.
"Just fine" said Peter as he webs over a cup of coffee.
Meanwhile at the Tech Convention,
"Director Fury, Ray Palmer is heading towards the interview room." said Jimmy
"Who's there with him?" Asked Fury.
"One Iris West-Allen. Wife of Barry Allen." Explained Jimmy.
"Wait.. Goddamn it. I need all available agents up there NOW!" shouted Fury
"Is everything okay sir?" Asked Jimmy.
"If this alien is going after The Flash, he's probably gonna use his wife to flush him out!" said Fury.
"You've already accomplished so much and not you're a CCTC Legacy honoree. What's next for you? Retirement?" Asked Iris.
"Uh, well. Honestly I. I'm not sure. That question has come up for me a lot today. You know I have been doing a ton of research lately but uh, I also don't want to repeat my previous achievements. So I guess uh, I'm having some conflicting thoughts about it. That's a tough decision. So you know what? Maybe, maybe we shall find out together. Next year." Ray answered as the crowd gave a round of applause.
"Okay so on that note, let's thank Ray Palmer for joining us today" said Iris.
But then out of nowhere, Despero makes his appearance.
"Oh shit! Director Fury! I have a visual!" said Darcy.
"GET YOUR ASSES UP THAT ROOM!" shouts Fury as he closes in.
"You all should run" said Despero.
"While you still can" said Despero telepathically.
Then all the attendees ran for their lives as luckily Nick Fury finally arrives. He moves the people out of the way as he holds his gun.
"FREEZE!"shouts Fury aiming his gun at Despero.
"It's you!" said Ray.
"On behalf of Sentient World Observation Response Department, your alien ass is under arrest!" said Fury as S.W.O.R.D agents enter the room guns aimed at Despero.
"I'm here for The Flash. Don't make this difficult.
"Dr. Palmer, Mrs. West-Allen, get to safety" ordered Fury.
As they did just that, The Flash arrives on the scene.
"Fury?" Asked Barry.
"You mind telling me why his ass is after yours?" Asked Fury.
"I've come a long way to find you Flash. Now that I have, I've come to kill you" said Despero.
"Light his ass up!" ordered Fury.
"Cease fire" said Despero as he telepathically controls all the S.W.O.R.D agents to lower their guns. Including Fury.
"You're nothing like I expected. Not that it matters. Those who were once good. Dies just as easy." said Despero as he activated his belt and turns into his alien form.
And like that, the battle was on as Flash and Despero took the fight elsewhere.
"Damn it!" shouts Fury.
"Director Fury, what about the hostile alien?" Asked Jimmy Woo.
"All units get outside. Get the civilians to safety." ordered Fury.
"Barry is gonna need a helping hand" said Ray
"I guess it's a superhero team up with The A.T.O.M" said an excited Chester.
"You're not the only superheroes in town Dr. Palmer." said Fury.
"Wait what do you mean?" Asked Iris.
"I'm calling in my response team." Explained Fury as he calls in for reinforcements.
"We're live at the CCTC as it appears The Flash is battling some sort of alien." said the News Anchor.
Natasha gets the call on her phone.
"It's time. Go get em Tiger" said Natasha.
Peter Parker suits up as he opened the window and swings to the rescue.
Back at the convention center,
"Wait so you have response team of superheroes?" Asked Chester.
"You called in The Avengers?" Asked Iris.
"Not exactly" answered Fury.
"Doctor Palmer, suit up. It's time to go to work" he continued as Ray Palmer runs to go change into his A.T.O.M suit.
Barry runs around in circles around Despero as he remained in place until he slammed his fist onto the floor, knocking back Iris and Chester with Barry tossed out the window and onto the ground below.
As everyone else ran outside Despero lands on the ground.
The S.W.O.R.D agents took aim as Jimmy Woo gave the order.
"Open fire!"
He and the rest of the agents opened fire onto Despero as the bullets seem to do little to nothing. Despero then slammed his fist on the ground again knocking Jimmy and S.W.O.R.D away.
"I was born amongst the stars. This is pointless. Surrender and I promise you won't suffer." pleaded Despero.
Lucky for Barry, Ray flies in just in time.
"Hey it still fits! Have you been working out?" Asked Ray.
"Yeah thank you for noticing" Barry replied as he and Ray exchanged a fist bump.
"Alright you ready?" Asked Barry.
"Yeah" Ray replied.
Barry threw two lightning bolts as Ray fired an energy blast as they seem to go straight through Despero.
"Flash! A.T.O.M! Who are you firing at?" Asked Iris.
"Yeah he's right behind you!" shouts Chester.
Despero then prepares for his next attack as Nick Fury then arrives firing his handgun as a distraction.
"HEY YOU PINK LOOKING MOTHERFU-"
"Director Fury there's children present" said Jimmy.
Barry and Ray goes for another attack as Barry zooms around Despero as Ray fired more blasts at the villian.
"I need a sitrep!" said Fury
"Hang on Nick were on our way" said Natasha piloting the Quinjet.
Despero grab Ray and tossed him over as he then kicked Barry away.
But hope wasn't lost as some people in the crowd saw a certain webslinger.
"LOOK! UP IN THE SKY!
"It's a bird!"
"It's a plane!"
"IT'S SPIDER-MAN!"
*cues MCU Tom Holland Spider-Man theme song*
Spider-Man just in the nick of time finally arrives as Despero turns around, he gets hit square in the face with a swing kick.
He flips as he does his signature landing.
"Hey everyone!" said Peter.
"Pete? What the hell are you doing here?" Asked Barry.
"He's leading my response team." Explained Fury.
"You guys look like you could use a hand" said Peter.
"You bet" said Ray.
"Look out!" shouts Iris.
Despero goes to throw a taxi at the three as Peter's Spider Sense went off.
Ray quickly shrinks Barry as Peter grabs a hold onto the taxi while Ray and Barry flew through it and grew back.
"Now I know how Diggle feels." said Barry trying not to vomit.
"You guys still there? I caught this cab and I was wondering if this guy needs a ride back to space" said Peter making a joke.
"He's...strong" said Barry in awe of Peter's Spider Strength.
"Not as strong as who were fighting. He seems to be messing with our minds." said Ray.
"Indeed. Leave A.T.O.M and Spider-Man this is neither of your fights" said Despero.
"Hey buddy! How about you catch this cab back to wherever you came from?" Asked Peter as he throws the taxi at Despero.
Despero knocked it out of the air as it crashes to the side.
"I'll keep him occupied." said Barry as he uses his speed to duplicate himself.
They speed around him and go for a punch.
But Despero figured out which one to hit ad he knocks Barry down onto a nearby cab.
"You can't fool me with your speed mirage Flash. My mind is too powerful" said Despero.
"Spidey I got an idea! Can you keep him occupied while I figure out how to short out his tech?" Asked Ray.
"I'm on it" said Peter as he swings into action.
He swings onto Despero as he webs up his eyes. All three.
"You have three eyes? How does glasses work with you? Do you buy three different contact lenses?" Asked Peter.
Despero throws Peter off as he web swings back around and webs up his arms.
"Little help here Barry!" said Peter as he slingshots himself onto Despero with a kick.
"Guys I could use some backup here!" said Spider-Man on the comms.
"Hang on kid!" said Doctor Strange as he conjured up a sling ring portal shortcut.
Spider-Man goes for the tossed taxi and used his webs to hurl it at him again as it makes full impact.
"Flash! Let's take him down!" shouts Peter as the two leaped in the air going for a double punch. But Despero grabbed their arms and throws them.
"You're quite admirable Spider-Man. Always willing to defend everyone no matter what. But know this child. This is a fight you cannot win. The Flash must die. Even if it means you must die as well." said Despero as he grabs Peter by the throat.
"Any last words?" he asked.
Peter struggled to get free then sees the Quinjet from the corner of his eye.
"Actually? Two. AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!"
"What?" asked Despero as he looked to the sky and saw the Quinjet.
Natasha gets on the intercom as she readied up the main gun.
"You! Drop the kid and stand down!"
"The light is green" Natasha tells the others.
Doctor Strange opens a sling ring portal as he, Moon Knight, Yelena and Kate arrive just in time.
"Glad to see you guys made it" said Peter as he blinds Despero with a web and kicks himself off.
"Took your ass long enough!" said Fury.
"Alright so what's the plan?" Barry.
"He attacks our minds so we need to keep him off balance. Doc? You you have a mind protecting spell or something?" Asked Peter.
"Nothing of this magnitude." he answered.
"Right. Okay new plan. Keep him blinded" said Peter as he swings into action.
Barry zooms around Despero again as Peter goes on for a swing and web blast to his face.
"Marc! Yelena! Kate! FLASHBANG!" shouts Peter.
Kate fired a Flashbang arrow, Yelena flashbang disks and Marc tossed a Flashbang grenade.
"Flash heads up!" shouts Peter as Barry got out of harms way.
"Let him have it!" Said Peter.
Barry goes for rapid punches. As Kate fired normal arrows. Despero goes for a punch ad Kate dodges out of the way and fired a quick explosive arrow.
"Wait you shoot arrows?" Asked Barry.
"Yeah?" said Kate.
"What are you supposed to be? Hawkeye?" Asked Barry.
"Actually yes!" Kate answered.
"Less talking more fighting!" shouts Yelena as she fired Widow's bite from her gauntlets.
Yelena knee slides under Despero as she goes onto his back and charges up her gauntlets for a zap attack on the head.
Despero then throws her off as Barry runs to catch her.
"Thanks" she said.
"Don't mention it" said Barry.
"Spider-Man! Titan formation!" shouts Doctor Strange referencing the famous fight with Thanos.
Doctor Strange conjured multiple sling ring portals as everyone went through to take a shot.
"Now what?" asked Moon Knight.
"Marc! Doc! We got to restrain him!" shouts Spider-Man.
Spider-Man and Moon Knight went for each arm of Despero as they try to hold him in place. Doctor Strange uses the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak on the legs. Kate fired a cable wire arrow that held the knees in place as she tugged and held on.
"Yelena! Use zap his head with the Widow's bite again and hold on!" said Spider-Man.
"Flash! Finish this!" shouts Peter.
Barry goes for his finishing speedster punch as it was enough to takedown Despero.
The crowd cheers as the heroes successfully defeated Despero.
Or so they thought.
