"His name is Despero. While I was under his vision I was able to learn a bit about him. He claims to believe that Barry in ten years time will be the cause of this earth's destruction and he'll do it in a blink of an eye. It's his fate" Explained Strange.
Caitlin and Bruce Banner then enter the room after seeing the fight on the news at the coffee shop(read A Cup of Coffee).
"Hey. We just saw what happened. Everything okay?" Asked Caitlin.
"Yeah we're all fine Cai-, Bruce? What are you doing here in Central City?" Asked Barry.
"I was...invited for a cup of coffee when we saw a giant alien on the news" said Bruce.
"Back to this Despero. What do you mean Barry is destined to destroy the world?" Asked Peter.
"He never explained what was the exact moment in time that caused Barry to change.
"Barry. You know you're not destined to destroy the world right?" Asked Ray.
"Yeah I know but the visions Despero showed Strange which he then showed just seemed so real. And he said our world" said Barry.
"What does that even mean?" Asked Cecile.
"I don't know. Yet." said Barry
"What if he's mind bunking you? Like how he made you and Ray see an illusion during the fight." Asked Chester.
"I don't think he was. Every test you ran in Barry seems completely fine. Mentally and physically.
"While I scanned the residual feelings Despero left behind inside your mind, there was no doubt. Despero was telling the truth. He really did see those things." said Cecile.
"That means everyone is in danger." said Barry
"No. There's no way you're the bad guy in this situation. What we need to do right now is find out the truth." said Cecile.
"I have a bad feeling it's gonna find us. Once Despero gets back from whatever Ray sent him." said Barry.
"Yeah well, the tech inside his belt was so complex that I could barely recognize the navigation system. So instead of sending him to a specific location, I tried a random setting. Who knows where he went." Explained Ray.
"Or when he's coming back." said Barry.
"Barry. Who do we beat a ten foot red alien who thinks like Grodd and punches like Fuerza?" Asked Chester.
"By figuring out what kind of Alien he is. Find out that and you might have an idea on what his weaknesses are" Explained Ray.
"Like Kryptonians..."
".. And Kryptonite" said Chester and Ray.
"If I may, S.W.O.R.D can possibly figure that out. But we might need some help. Since the DEO is out of commission, we're gonna need to enlist Alex Danvers. Figure what's better that one Danvers than two?" Asked Fury.
"Great idea I'll call Alex in National City.
"Great so what do we do?" Asked Cecile.
"He took our best shots like they were nothing." said Ray.
"So we hit harder." said Yelena.
"We need to be ready" said Barry.
"For what?" asked Chester.
"The fight of our lives" said Barry
Later that night,
"Are you sure you don't need me to stick around? Nora can handle any supernatural emergenciea while I'm gone and you said Despero can come back any minute.
"It's okay we're on it and if Despero comes back again..." said Barry.
"The A.T.O.M will embiggen." said Ray.
"Actually...Doctor Palmer's help in this is more needed than you realize Mr. Allen." said Fury.
"What do you mean?" Asked Barry
"Doctor Palmer? How would you like to out your gifts to use with us at S.W.O.R.D for the time being. We got some of our top scientists on the clock working to help out in this situation however we can. This is an all hands on deck situation. We'll need every able hand we can get knowing the threat we face now." Explained Fury.
"That'd be, that would be great. When do I start?" Ray said excitedly
"You just did." Fury said while putting a hand on Ray's shoulder.
"Wait. Before I go. Chester, what you did back there, at jitters was the best gift possible. Between that and helping Barry again as The A.T.O.M, I have now realized that there is a middle ground to this whole balance thing. Which is why I want to return the favor. So, what if I funded a non-profit organization to help young scientists, like your jitters friends?" Ray offered.
"That would be awesome!" said Chester.
"Great! I was thinking I could call it the Quincy P. Runk Foundation. If that's okay? Barry told me about your father." said Ray.
Chester could only respond with a hug.
"Yeah uh, of you ever need like a consultant or anything like that.." Chester offers.
"I know who to call" said Ray.
"Oh and Barry. There's one sure fire way to prove to Despero that you won't destroy the world." said Ray.
"What's that?" Asked Barry.
"Just show him who you really are. Like what you do with this team each and every day" said Ray and he and Nick Fury take their leave.
"We'll be in touch soon." said Nick as the elevator door closes.
Meanwhile, Bruce finds Caitlin as he goes to check on her
*knock knock*
"Bruce? I'm surprised you're still here. I thought you'd already left with Fury and S.W.O.R.D?" said Caitlin.
"I mean I was about to head out but, I just thought it would be rude if I didn't say goodbye first." said Bruce.
"Listen uh, today didn't exactly go down how I wanted it planned." said Caitlin.
"Nothing we do in our line of work ever does. Besides I was thinking about sticking around for a little while. This is all hands on deck here. So I figured I'd stay and help out and hopefully not Hulk out." said Bruce.
"Look if you need a place to stay for the time being, I got a spare room in my place." Caitlin offers.
"I'll think about it. For now Doctor Strange offered a place at a hotel the others have been staying at. I'll give you a call if I change my mind." said Bruce with a smile.
"See you tomorrow?" Asked Caitlin.
"See you tomorrow" Bruce assured as he began to leave.
"Hey Bruce? Stay safe out there" said Caitlin.
"Yeah. You too" he answered back.
As he left he runs into Natasha as she was listening the whole time.
"How much of that did you hear?" Asked Bruce.
Natasha smiled and said,
"Walk with me Bruce."
"It's been a long time since we've caught up" said Bruce.
"Don't try to change the subject. Oh and you're taking her offer by the way." said Natasha.
"Right." said Bruce.
"Hey. You both deserve some happiness. You cute science nerds" said Natasha.
Back at the control center, the scanner was going off.
"Barry we got an alien signal coming in hot." said Chester.
"Where is it coming from?" Asked Peter as he looked at the scanner.
"Barry are you sure about this?" Asked Iris.
Elsewhere Barry was suited up ready and waiting.
"Yeah it's like Ray said. The only way to convince Despero I am not a threat is to show him who I really am" he answered.
"I'm on my way" said Peter as he puts his mask on and swings away.
Despero then appears behind Barry via his tech on his belt.
"Prepare to die Flash!" he said.
"I don't think so!" said Spider-Man as he swings in for a landing.
"Every life ends sooner or later" said Barry
"Wise words for a dead man" said Despero.
"No one's dying here tonight." said Spider-Man.
Behind Despero, well hidden, two sling ring portals as out came Kate and Yelena as the two took aim and gave Peter a nod ready for his word.
"We're not gonna fight you again" said Barry
"Really? I'm disappointed. Striking down a defenseless foe? Well there's no pleasure in that" said Despero.
"So you enjoy killing?" Asked Barry.
Despero then walks up closer to Flash and Spider-Man.
"Twist my words at your own risk" threatened Despero.
"You wanted to kill me. I'm not running anywhere." said Barry.
Despero then reverted to a human form to level with him.
"And neither am I. In another time in another world, we could've fought side by side you and I. There's great strength in you Flash. But I've seen your future. The lives you take. The betrayals you revel in. You're the most dangerous kind of killer. Because you hide in the body of a hero." said Despero.
"He's not a killer. Unlike you I have fought side by side with him. He'd rather give his life than take one. So I think your future isn't set in stone as you think it is" said Spider-Man.
"I'm not whatever you think I am. I can prove it to you if you let me show you the truth. Or are you gonna take an innocent life just to prove you're right?" Barry offered.
"You're either very stupid or very brave. I can't decide which." said Despero.
"Find out. Scan our minds. See for yourself then decide." said Barry.
Despero then used his third eye to scans Barry and Peter's minds.
"I see no deception in your minds. I do see truth and honor. That. You're asking me to risk the future I have already witnessed to unfold. I'm sorry. But there's too man lives at stake. Don't you see? This is why I came back. This is the purpose I swore to uphold." said Despero.
"What if you're wrong about me? I've spent my entire life protecting this world. All I'm asking for is a chance to prove that I'd never turn my back on it." said Barry.
"WHY SHOULD I BELIEVE YOU?!" asked Despero as his eeys turnes red.
Kate further drew back her bow as Yelena readied her gun by pulling back on its hammer.
Barry then unmasked himself.
"Because my name is Barry Allen and his is Peter Parker. We have nothing to hide."
Peter then at first reluctantly tries to pull off his mask but ultimately does.
"You and I are gonna have a long talk about this later" said Peter.
"You're boldness impresses me Flash. As does yours Spider-Man. And it's earned you a stay of execution. You now have seven earth days to prove to me that you won't become the monster I've witnessed in the future. If you can't convince me in that time or if I find any trace of a darker nature, I will end you're existence." said Despero.
"Yeah well, we'll see about that won't we?" said Peter.
"For a man who can do whatever a Spider can, you sure have some venom in you." said Despero.
