The Flash Armageddon Part 9
Doctor Strange uses the Eye of Agamotto and the Time Stone within it to see into the future and all its possibilities.
He sees everything that Barry will endure tomorrow. The horrible chain of events set in motion. But most of all, how does Peter Parker factor in it. At first it was hard to believe but Strange had to power through to see it til the end. Once he did, he gasped as he breathed heavily as it took a lot out of him.
"The kid was right.." he said to himself.
The next morning, it was already time for work.
"Director Fury! I've been able to successfully link our satellites to track Barry Allen in all his usual duties today. Pulling up the live feed now" said Jimmy Woo.
"Kinda stalkerish and creepy having all our satellites one dude." said Darcy
"Welcome to working for the government" said Jimmy.
"Good work Woo. Danvers! Rambeau! Meet me by the central computer. We're supposed to be getting a call from Alex Danvers soon on what kind of alien bastard Despero is." said Fury.
Meanwhile in the science lab, Ray Palmer was working on Spider-Man's new magic webshooters with Doctor Strange.
"Oh hey guys. Didn't realize there was a lab here" said Peter.
"Ah good morning! Just making some additional adjustments to the webshooters so you won't end up teleporting to a random universe or point in time." said Ray as Peter picks up the web shooter.
"So how does this work exactly?" Peter asked.
"It's funny that you asked that question. Earlier Doctor Strange hit me up with an idea for a failsafe location destination in case things were to go awry. So whenever you activate this switch, you'll be taken to The Hall of Justice. I mean better safe than sorry right?" Asked Ray as Doctor Strange gives Peter a subtle wink.
"No Way that's awesome! So in a way you managed to perfect teleportation" said Peter.
"Huh. Never really began to thought of it that way but Whaddya know I did." said Ray.
"Thanks Mr. Palmer." said Peter.
"Please. Call me Ray. Mr. Palmer is my Father. Or Dr. Palmer works fine" said Ray.
Meanwhile elsewhere,
"Go!" said Natasha
Kate, Yelena and Marc were in the middle of a sparring session to help keep the team in tip top shape.
Kate fires a cluster arrow that splits into multiple arrows as Marc throws moonerangs to counter and destroy them.
Yelena throws flashbang disks as Marc raises his cape to protect his vision.
Yelena goes on for the attack as Marc side steps and blocks with ease as he then pulls out his bostaff and hits Yelena with it.
The younger Black Widow, take out her batons and splits them in two as Marc did the same with his staff.
Metal met metal as neither let the other get in a single hit from their weapons.
Kate fired more arrows as Marc leaped into the air and dodges by doing a backflip and throwing a moonerang to destroy the arrows.
Yelena does a hurricanrana as Marc rolls into recovery as Kate tried to sneak up on him by striking him with her bow. Marc does a sweep kick taking her down and throws Yelena over his shoulder taking her down.
"Time!" said Natasha.
"Can we take a break?" Asked Kate.
"We've been at this since 4 am" added Yelena.
"Whaddya say Specter. Wanna call it?" Asked Natasha.
"Yes. They've trained long enough for one session. Class dismissed" said Marc as Kate and Yelena go grab some breakfast.
"Hey. You said you fought Sara Lance in New York some time ago? What was she like?" Asked Natasha.
"Confident. Yet sloppy." said Marc.
"She and I took each other to the limit when we first met yet you had a better shot than I did. How?" Asked Natasha.
"I was pissed off that night. Dracula owed me money and her Legends got in the way. That and Khonshu grants me increased power under the full moon.(Read The Paragon Knights)" Explained Marc.
"Dracula? Right." said Natasha.
"Ask Spider-Man. He was there and helped defeat him once and for all." said Marc.
Natasha's eyes widened with shock.
"Poor kid. I can't imagine what other crazy shit that happens in New York on a nightly basis." she said to herself.
Jimmy Woo and Darcy Lewis were on watch duty as Barry Allen went on with his day.
"Remember when Wanda made the hex and we would watch what's going on like it was her sitcoms?" Asked Jimmy.
"Yeah?" Asked Darcy.
"Kinda takes you back doesn't it?" Asked Jimmy.
"Actually? Yeah. Just this time we're up in space and nowhere near a giant hex covering a town in New Jersey." said Darcy.
"Well let's see what's in this week's episode of The Flash" said Jimmy as the satellite kept its position on Barry.
"Wait! There! C.S.I Central City" said Darcy.
Barry Allen arrives at a crime scene as there were a lot of people gathered.
"What is he looking at?" Asked Jimmy as he zooms in using the satellite camera.
"Maybe it's that Despero dude" said Darcy.
"You think he's watching him?" Asked Jimmy.
"I don't know. I'm just guessing here!" said Darcy.
"Allen. I know this must be a shock" said his Captain
"Captain hold on what am I supposed to have done?" Asked Barry.
"Two years ago Joseph Carver had a mole manipulating evidence in CCPD" said the captain
"Yeah Millie Rollins aka, Sunshine we caught her" said Barry.
"And the D.A is reviewing the case as part of an internal audit. Now I don't know what exactly but he also found new evidence that points to Carver having a second inside man. You." said the Captain.
"Whaaaaaaat?" said Jimmy and Darcy at thr bombshell plot twist.
"Wait hold on. Barry is a CCPD mole?" Asked Jimmy.
"Dude pause it. I'm gonna get some popcorn cause this is too good." said Darcy.
Meanwhile Bruce hitched a ride with Caitlin on the way to S.T.A.R Labs as a response team was placing the building under quarantine.
"What the hell?" Asked Caitlin.
"Those guys aren't sent here without an order from the city about potential hazards." said Bruce.
"You can't just come in here and kick us out of our own offices." said Caitlin.
The lead response captain served Caitlin a document.
"Public Safety Act?" she asked.
"Passed four years ago after the Meta fallout nearly took out the city. Means we can do whatever we have to do for the greater good. Post teams at every entrance. No one come in without clearance." ordered the response captain.
"Excuse me I'm Barry Allen. I own this facility" said Barry making his entrance.
"Mr. Allen. We detected dangerous levels of radiation within your facility. This lab is a day away from a meltdown." said the Response Captain
"Don't you think we would have noticed if it was that bad?" Asked Bruce
"Uh maybe not. I just checked the safety logs and the radiation scanners haven't updated in over a week." said Chester as he goes to check the safety panel
"Doesn't make any sense" he said as sparks flew in his face.
"What happened?" Asked Barry.
"This was part of our early detection array that monitors radiation levels inside the place but it's corroded. Hasn't been functioning for a while. Sensors in the subterranean power core currently read over a thousand rads." said Chester.
"Consider yourselves lucky. Another day and you'd all be in ICU. SEAL OFF THAT POWER CORE! Get an external containment team stat!" ordered the response captain.
"What kind of containment?" Asked Caitlin.
"We need to construct a concrete and steel encasement around the entire facility in order to contain the radioactive material. Then we'll demolish S.T.A.R Labs and move the debris to a nuclear waste site. Safety board makes the final call. This looks pretty bad. Now gather your people and say goodbye. You got til nightfall to make like a banana and split." ordered the CCDBS response Captain as he takes his leave.
"Alright this place is already swarming with workers if they get into the inner levels," Barry began.
"They'll find Flash HQ." said Bruce.
"Grab whatever you all can, conceal the lab' critical areas and get out as fast as you can." said Barry.
Later as everyone regrouped to what was left in Flash HQ,
"I'll call Fury and let him know it's time" said Bruce.
S.W.O.R.D War Room,
"What's the good word Doctor Banner?"
"We've got Alex Danvers on the line. Patching her through" said Bruce.
Nick Fury joins the call as Alex is up in screen for Team S.W.O.R.D and Team Flash.
"Director Fury I presume?" Asked Alex.
"Alex Danvers. So good to finally meet you. These are my colleagues Monica Rambeau and..."
"Carol Danvers" Alex interrupts seeing Captain Marvel.
"One and only" said Carol.
"Kara told me a lot about you. Shame we never got to work together during the Crisis but from what I can tell you're kind of like a distant cousin. Weirdly enough you do remind me of Kara in some ways." said Alex.
"As much as we'd love to continue this family reunion, I believe we have an alien to identify" said Fury
"Right. Okay uplink to tower mainframe is secure. You now have access to our alien database including any Intel we have on this Despero." said Alex.
"We really appreciate you helping Alex." said Caitlin.
"How long will it take to download?" Asked Chester.
"Well this new algorithm works at lightspeed. In fact, Caitlin, that guy Marcus I connected you with, he designed it" said Alex.
"Well if he's still here in a week I'll make sure to give him a call" said Caitlin.
"Marcus huh?" said Bruce while Alex attempted to pull up anything on Despero.
"Oh it's nothing really..." said Caitlin.
Alex finishes up pulling anything she could find only to come up with no results.
"Oh. I'm sorry guys. I'll keep digging to see what I can find out. But if this Despero has managed to stay off of our grid, then he is a greater threat than any alien we've ever faced. Keep your guard up" said Alex as she hung up.
"We sure Parker and his team can keep Barry protected from this guy?" Asked Bruce.
"Faith Doctor Banner. He's fought Despero twice and he seems to walk away from it fine each time." said Fury.
"What if Despero is right?" Asked Frost.
"He's not. He never will be. You heard Alex, Despero is the bigger threat. Not Barry. Said Monica.
"If worst comes to worst we all need a contingency plan. I got Parker set to arrest him and placed under our protection until we can take down this Despero.
"And what makes you think we're just gonna allow you to arrest my husband?" Asked Iris.
"And what in the hell makes you think I need your permission?" Asked Fury.
"Lock it down. Both of you." Barry under S.W.O.R.D protection is at this point a last resort. Parker told me that Despero gave him a week to prove him wrong right? We just need to have Barry under constant surveillance for the time being" said Carol.
"Is that even necessary?" Asked Caitlin.
"It's already underway. Out satellites are orbiting the planet and are deadlocked on Barry in case anything happens. When it does, well, heres comes the Spider-Man" Explained Carol.
"Our job is to protect the whole damn planet from any and all threats. Space bound and Earthbound. And from what I understand, Barry has got himself some fancy new powers along with being faster. So like it or not, we will do what we have to. Fury out"
Nick hangs up his end of the call
