The Flash Armageddon Part 14 San Francisco
Natasha took the Quinjet along with Yelena, Kate, Carol, Marc and Ray en route to find Scott Lang and Hope Van Dynne in hopes of reinforcements.
"I've activated their Avengers pagers. It should track their exact location. We find them, we find a solution to temporarily take Barry away from the Speed Force. Ray, this is also your expertise. Maybe you and Hope can design some Nano shrinking...thingy or whatever to cut Barry off. " said Natasha.
"Oh you mean like a nullifier that can not exactly sever his connection to the Speed Force, but possibly just make is lag like a bad internet connection. That's brilliant!" said Ray.
"Uh..yeah that's exactly what I was thinking. Sure." said Natasha.
Natasha hits the afterburner as the Quinjet goes into overdrive.
Pym Labs, Training room.
Scott Lang was watching his daughter Cassie Lang engage in a sparring session with Hope Van Dynne learning the ropes of being a superhero.
"Remember peanut. Left hand button is for growth. Right is for shrinking." Explained Scott.
"You heard your dad. Remember to keep your enemies off balance with unpredictability. Some cases its better to flight rather than flight. But others, it's better to have them not see you coming by shrinking and them hitting them square in the face. Whether it be doing it small, or growing back to normal size and knocking them on their asses. Scott! Can you come over here?" Asked Hope.
"Alright" Scott replied as he activates his helmet.
"First well start off with the basics. *activates helmet* Shrink down for me Cassie." said Hope.
"*takes deep breath* Left to grow, right to shrink" said Cassie as she closes her eyes nervously as she hits the shrink button.
"Getting a visual on you Aaaaand got you. Okay now grow back to normal size" said Hope.
Cassie goes to hit the grow button as she returned to normal size.
"See? Easy! Just a little more practicing and it'll be Instinct to you Cass." said Hope.
"So why do you need me again?" Asked Scott.
"To teach her the basics of fighting. Cass. Hit a roundhouse kick" said Hope.
"Sorry Dad." Cassie hits her own father with a roundhouse kick with perfect precision.
Scott stumbles as he sits on the ground.
"You're teaching my daughter martial arts?" Asked Scott still reeling.
"Sooner or later she's gonna have to learn how to defend herself Scott. Who better than her future Step-Mom?" Asked Hope winking at Cassie.
"Okay fine. Just, ow that really hurt. Proud of you Cass." said Scott.
Then nearby, Scott and Hope's Avengers pagers went off.
"Scott?" Asked Hope.
Scott removes his helmet as he goes to pick up his pager. It was blinking bright with the Avengers A on it.
"Wait. You don't think..." said Scott.
"I hate to be the one to intrude on teaching young Cassie but we have some visitors" said Hank Pym as behind him were Natasha and the rest of her team.
"Doctor Pym. Scott. Hope. Good to see you both. I assume this is Cassie?" Asked Natasha.
"Hi Nat. Uh. What's going on?" Scott asked confused.
"We need your help" said Ray.
"Palmer?" Asked Scott.
"Barry is in deep danger and we need your help to essentially take away his powers for a little while" Explained Ray.
"I'm gonna go make some tea. This sounds interesting." said Hank.
Upstairs as Hank and Janet Van Dynne were preparing tea, Natasha gave Scott and Hope the rundown of what's been going on.
"So an alien from another planet and the furture came to Central City because in ten years time, Barry is supposed to cause Armageddon?" Asked Hope.
"And a series of tragedies cause him to go insane and snap?"
"It's already happened Scott." said Hank.
"Wait. What do you mean?" Asked Scott.
"While you were training, the news broadcast showed The Flash attacking and injuring people in his own city" Explained Janet.
"Barry said he's been dealing with blackouts. He can't remember anything from attacking and destroying his own apartment to what just happened on the news. Carol believes there is a bigger force at play behind all this. That even Despero is a pawn." Explained Marc.
"S.W.O.R.D was originally supposed to have Spider-Man be the one to take Barry in when it happened but, the kid doesn't think this is Barry on his own accord." Explained Kate.
"Which is why he's currently with Barry at the Hall of Justice to keep him hidden. Barry wants his powers taken away because I guess no powers, no Armageddon" said Yelena.
"So why do you need us?" Asked Scott.
"Well as Natasha pitched the idea, we need to design a sort of nullifier to temporary cut him off from the speed force until we find a way to combat Despero and buy us some time to figure out who's really behind all of this." Explained Ray.
"Hmm. That would require Nano technology that would vibrate as the same frequency as your speedster friend that could essentially block his signal connection to this Speed Force." said Hank.
"That would however require a remote activation that way the effects won't become permanent." Added Janet.
"Let's get to work" said Hank.
"Dr. Palmer, Hope, let's go design a contingency plan against a Speedster." said Janet.
"Give us a few hours. We will have something whipped up so you can be on your way" said Hank.
"So. It's been a while since there's been an Avengers-Level threat. Kinda thought you forgot about us." said Scott.
"Scott you helped us fight against Nazis from another earth(Read Avengers:Crisis On Earth X)and you went toe to toe against a giant sized Anti Monitor.(Read Secret Crisis:War on Infinite Earths)Why would we forget about you?" Asked Natasha.
"I mean. I just didn't think that we would be your first choice to contact." Explained Scott.
"Everyone else was out of town. You were one of the only ones left who we can get our hands on. So technically in a way, you were my first choice." Explained Natasha.
"Oh. That's nice to know I guess." said Scott.
"Dad? Does this mean I'm an Avenger now?" Asked Cassie.
Scott looks at Natasha and the others.
"Yeah technically you are now"
"Welcome aboard kid" said Natasha.
