The Flash Armageddon Part 23
Barry stood face to face with Eobard along with Spider-Man.
"Caitlin told me about your talk. Something I wanna know. Why did you create a Reverse Flashpoint to steal my life?" Asked Barry.
"Why? That was the best way to hurt you." Explained Eobard.
"Don't you have anything better to do than trying to destroy my life?" Asked Barry.
"Destroying you is my life." said Eobard as he felt the temporal fading worsen.
"That still doesn't mean explain why?" said Barry.
"Why? Why that!" said Eobard.
"What did I ever do to you?" Asked Barry.
"Almost two centuries from right now we meet for the very first time. For my part I finally discovered ways to possess speeds. Speeds faster than anyone alive. And just as I was about to present myself to the world, you showed up. Pursuit of some stupid case dazzled the crowd high you're dazzling and then, and then you saved the crowd. A crowd I was meant to save. A crowd that was meant to thank me, you STOLE my greatest moment. I admired you and you humiliated me. And it was in that moment that I knew I had to get faster than you" said Eobard.
"Only a sociopath would react to something so small with that kind of rage" said Barry.
"What you call rage, I call commitment." Explained Eobard.
"So if you won't stop hating me, what happens once I save you?" Asked Barry.
"I'll just go on with my life's work. Finding new ways to kill you." said Eobard.
"You know you really like to talk too much. Take it from a guy who's an expert on that field. Barry's trying to offer you a second chance at life and you're literally just throwing it away for petty revenge?" Asked Peter.
"Oh Peter Parker. If you think my feud with The Flash has very bad blood, it'll pale in comparison to what foe lies ahead of you. Someone just as cruel and calculated as I am. Someone who will take the one you love the most someday and you will fail to save them." Explained Eobard.
"What are you talking about?" Asked Peter.
"Oh you'll see. Your greatest foe, your greatest challenge, your greatest trial, has yet to come. When it does, I want you to remember this conversation. Then you'll see from my point of view." said Eobard.
"Pete. Let's go" said Barry.
Peter with rage in his eyes lets it go and leaves with Barry.
As they both walk down the hall, Peter's Spider-Sense went off.
"Oh great. Not him again. Not now." said Peter.
"You know what to do Flash!" said Despero.
"What are you doing here?" Asked Barry
"I went to the future to see for myself whether or not Armageddon had been prevented" said Despero.
"and you know that it was!" Barry cuts Despero off.
"Yes. But I also witnessed the return of your rival. You must know as long as Eobard Thawne lives, he can still bring about another Armageddon!" said Despero.
"So what do you want me to do?" Asked Barry.
"Listen to your friend. Let him die!" said Despero.
"If you want him dead so much, why don't you just kill him yourself?" Asked Barry
"I would. But he could come back as he did before. This is the only way to assure his absolute death. You know it's the right thing to do Flash!" said Despero as he dissappeared.
"Barry. I'll go talk with the others up at S.W.O.R.D. Let em know Despero is back in the picture. Look I'm not gonna tell you what to do in this situation other than this. Finish it. Once and for all. Don't make the same mistake last time by letting him go free again to get faster. Once I prep the team, I'll come back in case Despero shows up again. Okay?" said Peter
"Okay. I'll give you a call if anything happens." said Barry
"Strange. I need a ride!" said Peter.
A sling ring portal was conjured as Peter walks through.
S.W.O.R.D HQ.
"Everything okay?" Asked Natasha.
"Despero is back in play. He wants us to let Thawne die from his temporal fading." Explained Peter.
"What about the Barry and the others?" Asked Fury.
"That's all up to them. Frankly I'm sure they will make the right call." said Peter.
"But?" Asked Fury.
"But I don't think Despero will accept it. I think he's probably got a play in the works. So tonight. This all ends. This has to. Director Fury? Permission to use all avaliable assets to S.T.A.R Labs. Set up shop there and get every able hand we can." Asked Peter.
Fury looks at Peter as he knows he's right.
"Permission granted. I want all available units on Central City deployed immediately. Woo, Lewis, get me Agent Hill. Parker, assemble your team!" said Fury.
"Yes sir!" said Peter
"What's the play?" Asked Natasha.
"Marc! You said this is all hands on deck right? Get on the phone. Call in Ryan Wilder, Alex Danvers and Jefferson Pierce. Natasha, Carol, Monica, Strange stay here and help with the deployment when it's time, I'll need you all to come a knocking. Yelena, Kate, Ray and the Ant Fam, you're with me. We're heading back to Central City. Oh and Ray, you know the new suit we've been working on? Bring it." ordered Peter.
"Hold on. You'll need a ride" said Strange opening a sling ring portal.
"Alright then. Avengers? Time to go to work" said Peter.
However back on earth, Peter's suspicion on Despero was proven correct.
"The heroes of this world have failed. But if they won't end Thawne's existence, then I Despero will take matters into my own hands. Mia Queen you're Gonna help me."
Despero's plan was in effect. He began to corrupt the mind of Mia Queen with his telepathic powers. Putting her under his control.
The sling ring portal opens in the middle of Barry's meeting with his team.
"Pete?" Asked Barry
"Please tell me you thought of a solution" said Peter.
"We have. We're gonna take away his speed. Permanently. Just like how we tried to do with mine." Explained Barry
"Okay. So what if it doesn't work?" Asked Frost.
"Well we still have the nullifier." Explained Ray.
"But no arrows" said Yelena
"Well think of something else." assured Kate.
"It'll work. Before the timeline was reset, Jefferson and Monica hit Barry with nearly enough voltage to sever his connection to the speed force permanently. Like nearly five percent left. So if we can blast him with the similar output at the right amount, he won't be able to run ever again." Explained Peter.
"Exactly." said Barry.
"Once it's done, A.R.G.U.S will take him into custody. We've already called Cisco." said Iris.
"Jail time won't make up for all the lives he destroyed." said Caitlin.
"Look you're right but, we can't let Thawne change who we are. There's always another way. Even when there isn't." said Barry as he looks at Peter remembering his words.
Despero then makes his appearance.
"You're a fool! Thawne must be erased from time itself. Why can't you see that?" he asked.
"Despero. Without his speed, Thawne won't be a threat to anyone ever again." assured Barry.
"Thawne recovered his powers before. This is your final warning Flash. Stand down and let Thawne die or suffer the consequences." Despero threatened.
Barry and Peter put on their masks.
"No" Barry said in defiance.
"This ends here and now Despero." said Peter.
Despero used his belt to take Barry and Peter elsewhere.
"Barry!" said Iris.
"Parker!" added Kate.
"We gotta go after em!" said Hope
"No. This is their fight. They'll see it finished. For now, help me with finishing Peter's suit" said Ray.
Barry and Peter are taken elsewhere in Central City as Despero talks them in their minds.
"It's not too late Flash! Let Thawne die so Armageddon can end! I was right about you all along Flash! You are humanity's enemy."
"Im choosing to save a life Despero not end one" said Barry.
"Because that's what heroes do!" Peter adds.
"But you've never been a hero have you?" Asked Barry.
"What are you implying?" Asked Despero.
"What you told me about your homeworld. That was all a lie wasn't it? You weren't the heroic rebel leader. You were the despot. The one who inflicted pain and suffering. Who killed to get what he wanted." said Barry.
"I did what was necessary!" shouts Despero.
"No you're wrong! Taking a life is never necessary! It doesn't make you any better than your enemies." said Peter.
"You've been wrong. This whole time about everything. You're no hero Despero. You're just like Thawne!" said Barry
"Only in your eyes Flash! Because I know what must be done! The greater good that must be embraced in order for this world to survive. All that remains, is for me to SHOW YOU!" shouts Despero as he finally appears.
Barry charges up his lightning and Peter gets into his signiture fighting pose with his web thwipping hands ready.
"Ready for one final round partner?" Asked Barry.
"Let's do this!" said Peter.
The three charge into each other as the fight then is taken to the streets.
Barry uses multiple speed mirages as they all took shots at Despero. The villian then uses his laser eye to blast them only for Peter to swing a punch into him. Despero knocks Barry away destroying all the mirages as he goes to fire another blast. But Barry uses the Speed Force to make a lightning shield.
"WOAH YOU CAN DO THAT? THAT IS AWESOME DUDE!" shouts Peter
Despero goes to throw a car door as Spider-Man dodges along with Flash as they both did a team up uppercut sending Despero back.
Then Barry speeds Despero elsewhere as he gets caught and grabbed. Despero then slammed Barry onto the streets.
"Hang on Barry! I'm coming!" shouts Peter as he thwipped a web to strike into Despero feet first and hits a flip kick.
Despero then slammed Peter next to Barry as Despero went to slam a car onto them.
But Peter with all his might holds it back.
"Little help here!" shouts Peter.
Barry uses lightning to blast the car onto Despero hitting him clear in the face.
"Oh hello" said Despero using his power.
Minutes earlier...
S.T.A.R Labs was under emergency lockdown as the backup power was online but dim in terms of lights.
"Guys we just lost power. The back up is online but it's for the forcefield generator." Explained Chester.
"No that can't be right unless..." said Cecile.
"It's Despero. We're under attack!" said Iris as she then gets hit with an arrow but dodges out of the way.
Then a storm of arrows flew as one hits Caitlin. And the rest head for cover.
"Caitlin! Are you okay?" Asked Bruce
Then the shooter made her presence known. Mia Queen under Despero's control.
Yelena quickly puts on her tactical night vision goggles and readies her handgun.
"Wooooah. You look like Splinter Cell!" said Chester.
Yelena then singles Kate to cover her.
"Iris West-Allen. You and Flash made this decision." said Despero using Mia as a vessel.
"It's Despero! He's using Mia under his control." said Kate.
"And now you'll die for making the wrong one!" said Despero using Mia having a bow and arrow locked on Team Flash.
"Iris, get the others to safety. Treat Caitlin by getting the arrow out of her. Yelena and I got this. This bitch is ours" said Kate.
"We're not gonna leave you both alone with her!" said Cecile.
"Find the science nerds that shrink. They should be in the other lab working on the suit for Parker. GO!" said Yelena as they all did what they were told.
"Yelena, take them to safety. Keep em protected if I can't beat her. K bestie?" Asked Kate.
"Fuck. Let's go!" said Yelena leading the way.
Kate then draws her bow out.
"Mia? This isn't you. You're being a puppet for Despero you got to try to fight this!" Kate pleaded.
"Now why would I leave this perfect vessel?" Asked Despero.
"Because if she wanted to kill me, she would've done it already. Mia please think about your brother William. This isn't what he wanted. Come one Queen. Fight him!" Kate encourages.
Mia then dropped her bow as she then grabbed her head to try to fight off Despero's influence.
"FIGHT IT MIA!" Shouts Kate.
"Oh no she won't. She'll fight you" said Despero using Mia to grab the bow.
"Okay. Gotta do this the old fashioned way. Just like what happened to Clint. Gotta literally beat some sense into her." said Kate.
Kate and Mia exchanged in a battle of arrows as they matched each other shot for shot.
Each of their arrows essentially crashed into each other as neither could get a beat on the other.
Mia then decided to take the fight close quarters.
"So that's how you wanna go? I gotta warn you, I've been training in martial arts since I was five." said Kate.
"And I trained with a member of the League of Assassins" said Mia.
"Doesn't mean I won't kick your ass!" said Kate
The fight was on as the two met blow for blow with their bows. Mia's recurve bow vs Kate's collapse able bow clashed as both used their fists to try to block each other's attacks as Mia hits Kate with knee thrusts and hits Kate with a kick sending her on the ground.
Kate then pulled out two arrows from her quiver and shoots Mia between her sticking on the wall.
Mia turns around and says,
"You missed."
To which Kate replied,
"No"
The arrows beeped as it was explosive knocking Mia face first in the ground.
Kate goes to head behind cover to pull out an arrow she's been dying to try.
Mia gets up to see where Kate went off too.
"SHOW YOURSELF!" she shouts.
Kate fired an arrow that missed Mia. But came back around to hit her on the back of the head.
"Boomerang Arrow. It always come back to you" said Kate.
Mia starts to get furious.
"I told Clint it was a good idea for an arrow. But nooooooo. He never wanted to give it a try." said Kate to herself.
Mia rushes over to Kate as she again goes close quarters as they exchanged blows with their bows as they then striked each other in the face with them. Kate hits an elbow a knee strike and a heel kick onto Mia. But Mia hits back with a heel kick of her own as she knocks Kate's bow out of her hand.
Mia goes to strike with her bow as Kate kept dodging out of the way trying to grab it. Every time she couldn't, she lands a punch like she was boxing. Dodge, jab, hook repeat. Until Kate finally grabbed the bow as they both engaged in a tug of war.
Kate held onto the bow as Mia held the string. This gave Kate a quick idea of...giving back the bow as she lets go of it. The bow hits Mia square in her face as she covered it. She felt her nose bleed as she let out an angry nasal exhale with blood dripping down her face.
"I am so sorry..."said Kate trying to be remorseful.
Mia then throws the bow to the side as she puts up her fists.
"Oh God please don't tell me you were a cage fighter or something" said Kate.
"Yep!" Mia answered.
"Aw shit" said Kate.
Mia then goes for a flurry of punches and kicks onto Kate as she desperately tried to defend herself however she could. Every punch every kick Kate tries to block and lands on herself.
Mia hits Kate with a series of punches and a backhand as Kate hits back with a few gut punches and a head scissors takedown followed be a ground pound. Mia counters into a choke hold by turning Kate around enough to latch around her back, lock her legs on and apply the hold as Kate starts to fade.
Kate with no other option but to result to a dirty tactic. Biting Mia.
Mia screams with rage as she hammers on elbows on Kate's chest as Kate hits and a headbutt.
Both women were getting exhausted and very beaten. Mia had the raw combat advantage but Kate had the tactical awareness advantage. Mia goes for her bow as Kate was just about spent.
"Really?" Asked Kate.
However help arrives as Yelena fired her Widow's bite at Mia's back stunning her. Yelena then quickly followed it up with a hurricanrana takedown as she lands to do a Widow Pose.
"Who's the poser now!" said Kate
"Shut up!" shouts Yelena.
"I got an idea. Rip off that panel and I'll set is up." Explained Kate.
"I'm on it." said Yelena as she hits a sweep kick and a normal one sending Mia over to Kate.
As Yelena teared off a panel from the lab, Kate hits Mia with two knee thrust, a right hook and a backhand and then lifts her up legs first holding her on place.
"READY?" Asked Kate.
"Ready!" shouts Yelena.
Kate readies Mia into position as Yelena uses a panel as a quick shield. They both yell as Kate slammed Mia into Yelena's panel shield hitting Mia headfirst knocking them all down.
They were all catching their breaths as they were all physically spent
"Owwwww" said Mia.
Kate and Yelena out of Instinct grabbed their gun and bow and locked on Mia.
"That...reallt hurt. Ow" she groaned.
"Kate? Yelena? What happened?" Asked Mia.
"Oh thank God it worked." said Yelena as she collapsed on the floor.
Just then the others arrived.
"KATE! YELENA!" shouts Iris
A tired and exhausted Kate and Yelena simply replied with a thumbs up.
"We'll explain in a little bit just. Give us a little bit" said Kate.
Back to now
"My pawn failed. Your friend survived." said Despero.
"Mia?" Asked Barry.
"What's did you do?" Asked Peter
"Nothing compared to what I'm about to do now. I told you Thawne must die and he will. That's why I'm taking matters into my own hands. I'm going to be the hero this world needs Flash and Spider-Man. Not you both!" shouts Despero.
Peter and Despero go for another attack as Despero sent them back to S.T.A.R Labs.
"Barry! Peter! Are you both okay?" Asked Iris.
"Yeah I think so. What's going on?" Asked Barry.
"I've got the secondary power circuits up and running but I'm picking up insane energy readings out there like I'm talking atomic bomb level." Explained Chester.
"Despero. He must be willing to wipe out the whole city to get what he wants" said Barry.
"He's gonna kill us all" said Iris.
"No. He's gonna cause Armageddon." said Peter.
"Just so Thawne will die." said Barry.
