The girl groaned and wiped the sweat off of her forehead, stopping her movements while taking deep breaths. She could hear shouts from behind her, begging her to just come back to the prison that was her home. She whipped her head around in different directions looking for a place to escape into.
She started running again, as quickly as her short legs could carry her, and dove behind the gate leading up to a nearby house, the place was gigantic. Her mind and body seemed to work on their own as she walked up to the big building. Walking around it while trailing her hand over the wall she ducks as a ball of snow comes at her. Standing back up, her eyes widen as she sees the three people in front of her. Scrambling back she stumbles over her own feet.
"What are you doing here?" a girl with mostly white hair and little red strands in some places.
"Yeah! What are you doing here!?" One of the guys asked excitedly and the youngest one knelt down in front of the girl, his hair split in half in color, red and white. Holding his hand out to the little girl, she takes it hesitantly and gets lifted up stumbling to her feet.
She grunts and remembers that she does not know these people, freezing for a moment before straightening her dress and standing up straight. "I ran here." She says plainly and all three sets of eyes widen in front of her. "How is that so shocking?" She asks, sending them a confused glance.
"Nothing! We gotta go show you to Touya!" The older girl yells and the younger one looks frightened.
"U-Um...I don't think that that's a good idea, I can't be found right now, if I get found they'll never let me out of the house again!" She yelled despite knowing that it wasn't polite. The older girl smiled, extending her hand.
"Well my name is Todoroki Fuyumi," The girl said with a smile.
The little girl nodded slightly, taking hold of her hand even though she didn't know anything about this girl. She shivered as soon as she took hold of Todoroki-san's (Am I doing this correctly? HELP I DON'T FRECK-IDLY-FRACK KNOW!) hand trailing behind her. They twisted down the walls, the hallways seeming to be getting larger, the further they went into the mansion the quieter it got. They're all getting tense, the girl figured out, making her face scrunch up in confusion.
"Why are you all so scared?" She asks quietly and Fuyumi and the two boys froze. Looking at the girl, Fuyumi smiled tensely and continued along the hallway, not answering the question the little girl had asked, successfully making her more confused. They reached a door and the older boy knocked on the door, silence filling the air afterward. Glancing around the hallway the girl felt her own fear grow, her hands tingling.
Fuyumi glanced down in confusion, feeling the small hand she was holding started to get warmer. She let go of her hand with a yelp and the little girl looked up at her sheepishly reaching into her dress pocket pulling out a pair of thin gloves slipping them over her hands.
Fuyumi looked up at her younger brother Natsuo, he glanced back at her confused at why she had yelped and she just shook her head, silently promising that she would tell him later, he nodded in agreement and turned towards the door, opening it she glanced around to see her older brother not in there.
"He must have snuck out to train again…" She mutters to herself and glances back at the girl standing at the doorway looking around her eyes, taking everything with an abundance of maturity that Fuyumi hadn't seen before. "So," She said and the girl's eyes snapped to hers, "What's your name?" She asks.
"You can call me Snow." She mutters glancing down at her gloved hands. Fuyumi nodded and sat down on the bed patting the spot next to her. The girl took a hesitant step towards the bed and smiled shyly before walking more confidently towards the bed when Fuyumi grinned at her.
"So Snow, how old are you?" Natsuo asked, sitting on the desk chair across from the bed spinning around.
"I'm already in three strangers' houses, I probably shouldn't tell you guys anything personal, for all I know you guys could be mass murderers." She said plainly looking straight into the older boy's eyes. Natsuo choked on his spit at the answer, that definitely wasn't something he was expecting from the little girl. The youngest boy did something that surprised all of them, he let out a loud laugh, tossing his head back as his cheeks flushed and he clutched onto his stomach. Snow tilted her head, obviously just as confused as the other two in the room. "What's so funny?" She asks and after a few minutes, the boy quiets down. Standing from the ground he walks up to the little girl holding his hand out.
"My names Todoroki Shoto, but you can call me Shoto." He said smiling, she grasped onto his cold hand giggling at the feeling. For some reason, the little girl felt as if she could trust this short dubble-colored hair boy. (I forgot what it is called when you have two colors for your hair like Shoto?)
"Tsukumo Misaki." She said, giving him a grin, missing her first front tooth. With that handshake, a new unbreakable bond was formed. Tsukumo could only hope that her father didn't find out about this like her relationship with her neighbor, and all the Todoroki silently prayed that their father wouldn't find out. Because if he did, they would never see the small girl again.
…..
Touya Todoroki sighed as he trudged down the path, he had just finished his training, by some force of control he had managed to stop before he got burnt too badly. He had felt that there was something important that needed to be done at his house. Opening the front door, confusion started to bubble up in his chest as he heard the laughter that he didn't recognize.
Twisting down the long hallways he froze at the sight of his youngest sibling holding onto a little girl about his age. Everyone's face was lit up, something he did not often see. The little girl opened her eyes and hazel eyes met his. Her laughter stopped and she stood up, tripping over his brother's hand before standing up, straightening her dress, and turning towards him putting her hands behind her back, the smile fading off her face.
"Hello." She said quietly looking at her bare feet before bowing slightly. His eyes grew wide at the little girl and he turned towards Fuyumi for an explanation. She nodded and put her hand on the little girl's shoulder telling her to follow Shoto to his room to play. She looked hesitant and was about to resist when Shoto grabbed her hand tugging her along, the little girl smiled knowing arguing was only going to make matters worse as she let the older boy drag her down the hallway to his room.
Fuyumi sighed plopping down on the couch next to Natsuo as Touya took his own seat, his finger stinging, he turned towards Satsuo, "Can you please go get me somethings to bandage me burns Natsuo?" He asked and the younger boy nodded dashing to retrieve the supplies his older brother asked for, "So," He started looking at his only sister.
"We found her in the backyard, she looked like she was running away from the people we saw yelling around here last night." She said, and Touya's eyes widened, What would those people want from her? Her quirk maybe? He thought to himself and nodded for Fuyumi to continue, "Her name is Tsukumo Misaki and Shoto really likes to play with her, you saw the smile on his face! How could I deny him the opportunity to play with someone his age!?" She asks to defend the little girl and her youngest brother. Touya sighed, running his hand through his hair.
"And what's going to happen when Endeavor finds out about her?" He asks standing up, to his surprise Fuyumi's eyes grow stern and she stands up also, pointing her hand against her chest.
"He won't find out about her." She says bitterly and Touya takes a step back from his younger normally peace-making sister. "Plus, I'm going to try and keep a close eye on them!" She yells but stops abruptly when she hears a scream coming from the direction of Shoto's room. Both of the teens' blood runs cold as they rush towards his room.
When they reach the room they see something unexpected. Shoto was crying hysterically, his back against the wall as Misaki clutched her arm, tears brimming her eyes. Touya rushed to his brother as Fuyumi rushed towards the girl, "What happened?" Fuyumi asks as she tries to grab hold of Misaki's arm for her to whimper and take a step back on her trembling legs.
"I-I burnt her! I-I didn't mean to, I swear! I'm s-sorry Misaki!" He yelled and Touya turned towards the trembling girl, he was surprised that she wasn't crying, only trembling. What she did next surprised all of them, she walked up towards the crying boy smiling softly and she put her hand of her unburnt arm against his cheek, smiling through the tears. Fuyumi and Touya's eyes widen at the little girl's burnt arm, she should be hysterical right now! A burn that bad, Touya knew that she was in immense pain, having experienced being burnt many times.
"Don't cry Shoto, I know you didn't mean to, i-it doesn't even hurt that much!" She says reassuringly and pulls off one of her gloves taking a deep breath as she concentrates enough to make a steady stream of water spill from her hand flowing onto the burn, the trio watched in awe as the girl bites her lip before looking around the room. Walking up to Touya she holds her uninjured arm. "C-Can you rip off some of your shirt so I can bandage my arm?" She asks and the older boy nods numbly, ripping some of his shirt, handing it to the girl, she nods in thanks and wraps her in with a precision that surpasses Touya's and smiles at the others in the room.
The smile was different, Fuyumi and Touya noticed though, this smile was tenser, a fake one. Turning towards Shoto she hugs him speaking softly at the trembling boy who clutches onto her like she would disappear if he didn't. "I'm all better now, see?" She says.
"Do you know what your quirk is?" Fuyumi asks anxiously and the girl nods, her hesitation showing in her eyes, "Can you tell me what it is?" She asks and the girl looks at Touya who is still in a daze, then to Shoto who is looking down at the shorter girl with a curious gaze.
"W-Well, I've had one since birth, i-it's high intelligence, and t-" Her voice cracks involuntarily and Touya is snapped out of his daze turning his attention towards the girl as she takes a deep breath her eyes filling with determination and her body going rigid, how it usually is when speaking to adults or anyone else really. "The other one is Elemental, I can create and affect all of the five elements. Fire, water, earth, air, and metal." She pauses, glancing down, "I can make ice, and do some other things manipulating the elements." She says and they all hug her, they hadn't expected this girl to be carrying such a big burden, knowing they didn't even know half of it.
Through this parade of sympathy and craziness, they didn't notice a large figure looking at them through the door smirking. Not only had he created the perfect thing to surpass him and take the number one hero spot, but it just so happens that another powerful child fell right into his grasp.
I will make those two powerful, make my Shoto the number one hero, and her well, she can be discarded later on. He promised himself and stepped away from the doorway smirking.
…..
Seeing his father leave the door frame of the room Touya excused himself following after the number two hero. "Don't touch her Endeavor," Touya said bitterly as they reached the end of the hallway. Smirking, the older hero turned towards his eldest son. Touya was struck with fear as he saw the bitterness and malice in his father's eyes. Not only did he see it he could...he could feel it. He could feel it flowing off the man in waves.
"You can't stop me, boy, with Shoto developing his perfect quirk, I'll have my successor, I will find a way for the girl's parents to agree with her living here from now on for some...training. Yeah, training." He says slowly and his eyes gleam brighter, the fire inside of them seeming to grow higher. "What's her name." He states, it's not a question, a question he had the option not to answer.
"Like I'd tell you." Touya spit out, flying back as the older man's hand connects with his cheek with a force Touya hadn't witnessed, even when he was beating his mother he didn't hit this hard. Looking up at Endeavor, his eyes full of fear as he looked up with more newfound hatred burning inside of him.
"What's her name!" He said again, his voice getting louder with each word. Fuyumi appeared out of nowhere and helped her older brother off the floor. Trying to push his sister back out of the monster's reach, she looked at Touya with a stern look, making him stop, taking a step behind her.
"You'll have to find that out yourself Father. Don't ask Shoto, Touya, or I though. We will not tell you what you want to know, if you want to know you'll have to find out on your own Father, now if you don't mind we have to go comfort the burnt girl and Shoto. Thank you and goodbye." She said turning around grabbing onto Touya's shirt dragging him away with her so he couldn't instigate any further.
"Tell Shoto to come to see me at Nine tomorrow morning." He calls back to them, frowning.
"He's your son! Not someone you can just make an appointment for and call it good!" He heard Touya. Turning towards his office doors he opened the door and slammed it behind him.
Endeavor found Misaki's family and bribed them to allow Misaki to stay with him to help train her. Shoto began his intense training, the duo almost never saw each other again beside the time Endeavor made them train against each other.
One day in training Misaki grew even more worried about Shoto when he came in with a bandage over his face. When Misaki and Shoto were Twelve Touya Todoroki was pronounced dead. A few years after that Shoto never saw Misaki Tsukumo again.
That day started it all. That day something inside all of them broke, and...they didn't know if it would ever heal.
