Over the next 2 days, Marcella is turning into quite a horse already. She's just too easy to train, though she still finches over gunshots after a while, when Arthur fired his own round of bullets into the air, she doesn't flinch this time. Plus, she's pretty fast enough to bring the dead Whitetail Buck carcass back to camp like clockwork, Pearson didn't expect him with the meat too soon but still gratefully nonetheless.
His bonding with the Thoroughbred is becoming stronger so quick, he even loved that horse so soon. It's almost 3:50 P.M and Arthur was currently brushing Marcella, she was hitched next to The Count. The camp was low on medicine, but Arthur brought two dead dears and the two rabbits for Pearson to cook, so that should feed everyone for a while, and then, Arthur gave her another peppermint and she happily accepted it as she took it with her mouth. Susan walks over to him as Arthur stops grooming her as notices her walking to him.
"I see you've been taking good care of that horse, Mr. Morgan," Susan told him.
Arthur smiled, "So far, so good, she's behaving herself lately," Arthur replied.
"Well that's good," Susan said. "I'm glad that you're very happy with your new horse. Like since you first got Boadicea."
Arthur's smiled dropped as the mention of his old steed hit him, "I know," he sighs sadly. "I just missed her so much. I blamed Micah most of it for stringing in Dutch to rob that ferry."
Susan lands a hand on his shoulder for comfort, "I know you do, Mr. Morgan," she told him softly. "But I do know what Boadicea wants you to do is to continue riding with a horse that can help you what she can't do. That's her last wishes for you, Mr. Morgan."
Feeling better, Arthur smiled again knowing she's right, Marcella can finish what Boadicea started. "You're right, Miss Grimshaw. I'll do it, for her."
"Good," she lets him go. "Now go on, go on out on your adventures and see what you can find, I bet you start with finding the boys at Valentine,"
Arthur nodded, "I'll get on with that, miss,"
As she went back on supervising the others, Arthur untethered Marcella and mount her up, and head through the trees and to Valentine. It took him than 30 seconds to get there, the town was crawling with busy people, so he rides into the main street, apologizing to a few strangers for getting in their way, and hitched Marcella in front of the hotel.
He went into the saloon, and find many patrons around, they were either taking drinks at the counter, eating food on the table, they also play poker. The saloon even offered a haircut as well, Arthur turned to his left to find Charles and Javier talking to a pair of working girls by the counter, he walked to them, they noticed Arthur coming by.
"Oh, Arthur," Javier called to him and introducing him to the working girls. "Come over here, I want you to meet our friends."
"Pleased to meet you," Arthur greeted them.
"Well, ain't you just tough as teak mountain man?" The woman with red-haired asked him.
"Oh, you be quiet, Anastasia," the woman with brown skin and black hair told her. "anyone can tell this one is a pussycat."
"Exactly, yes," Javier agreed. "he's a pussy... cat. Ain't that so, Arthur?"
"Whatever you say," Arthur replied. "How much you cost, anyway?" He asked.
"Well ain't a nice way to talk to a lady?" The woman with hair asked him, a bit creeped out.
"Oh, I didn't know I was talking to a lady," Arthur told them."
Being creeped out by him, the working girls walked away, continuing with their jobs at the saloon. Arthur went closer to the counter next to Javier and Charles.
"Well, I must say," Javier said. "you got a find way with the women, amigo."
"Yeah, a regular dandy and charmer," Arthur replied. "Where's Bill?" He asked as they took a drink on their bottles.
"Oh, man," Javier answered. "I dread to think about it."
So then, Bill enters the saloon and bumps into another patron, knowing Bill, he always gets angry but he is still stupid. The three turned around to find Bill, doing what he was about to do with the patron.
"He about to kill that guy or punch him?" Arthur asked, however, instead of both, Bill headbutts the patron, knocking him out.
"Oh, and we have our answer!" Javier boasted, knocking out another patron with a bottle and Charles whacking another person with a chair, thus instigating a bar fight.
And everyone in the saloon started fighting each other, Arthur founds himself fighting another patron. He dodged a few punches and land an uppercut punch on his chin, the patron punched him in the face and he was about to land another punch on him but Arthur quickly blocks that punch and landed a few punches on his face, and then smack his head to the wall.
Arthur looks around and sees Javier and Charles doing well in the fight, but when he saw Bill, he quickly got pinned to the wall by three patrons. So quickly went over there and knocked out the patron who was kicking Bill with a bottle, and Bill takes this as an opportunity to free himself and land a hard punch on one of them, the fight was looking pretty well for the outlaws. Until a competition showed up.
"What the hell is going on down there?!"
Arthur looks to the stairs as he sees a big, muscular fat man scaling down the stairs, looking so angry with the commotion.
"No, Tommy, stay outta this!" The bartender begged him.
But Tommy ignored him as Javier decided to take him down on his own.
"Come here you little greaser," Tommy taunted Javier.
Javier punched him in the face but Tommy was hard, so he hit him back way harder than Javier ever could, then suddenly, another patron smacks Arthur on the back with a chair and begins to hold him down.
"I'll kill you, you son of a bitch!" Arthur growled to the patron holding him, as he uses his elbow to him hard until he finally had enough and Arthur successfully knocked him out.
"Javier could use some help, Morgan!" Bill told him as he knocked out another patron.
So Arthur quickly saved Javier who was being shoved into the table by Tommy, Arthur landed a punch on his back, thus provoking Tommy, making him let Javier go, and dragged his shoulder to make him turn to him so he can punch him on the gut, but Tommy was too strong and punched Arthur in the face, and throw him over the table.
"You want some too, huh?!" Tommy grabbed Arthur by the shoulders and throw him through the window, outside it was rainy, Arthur landed on the muddy ground. Everyone in town quickly gathered around to see the commotion as Tommy walked out of the saloon to fight Arthur.
"Come on, pretty boy," he taunted.
"Pretty boah?!"Arthur demanded as he stood up. "You're kidding me? PRETTY BOAH?!" He doesn't like to be called that way.
So then the fight was on! Arthur landed a few punches on Tommy but he blocked them with his strong arms, and punched him again in the face, knocking him over on the ground. Arthur quickly rolled over just as Tommy was about to stomp him hard with his right foot, Arthur quickly stood up and land a couple of punches on Tommy. Tommy grabbed his face and punched him there, knocking him down again, then grabbed his shoulders from behind and begins to choke him to death.
"You show him, Tommy!" One of the civilians cheered.
Arthur tries to break free by using his elbow, he keeps hitting him until he finally let's go and does an uppercut on his chin. Arthur land more blows on Tommy as he can, those few blows actually hit him but he managed to dodge/block some, Tommy grabbed his neck and shoved him into the ground, holding his head with his right hand into the mand as Arthur struggled to break free, until Artur eventually breaks free and punched him again, and kicked him in the groin, and drags Tommy into the muddy surface. He landed more and more punches on his face as quickly and strong as he can, he keeps landing more painful blows on his face as he was finally covered with blood, mud, and sweat.
Just as he was about to finish him, someone in the crowd quickly came and intervene.
"Stop!" The man cried, begging him to stop as Arthur stop what he was doing. "Stop! Please! Please, I beg you. Stop. Come, sir. You won the fight already, surely that's enough?"
So Arthur lets him go and confront the man who just intervened. "What business is it of yours?" He demanded.
"No business," the man replied. "But please, I beg you."
But Arthur ignored him as he walked away, ignoring the stares and glances the people are giving him as going to the general to take a seat, the pain in his jaw is still stung, but he'll recover eventually. He's covered with mud and he needed a quick bath in the hotel building soon. And also a new set of clothes.
"Making new friends again, I see, Arthur," a familiar voice called to him.
Arthur gazes up to see Dutch with someone whom they haven't seen for so long.
"Look who we found, sniffing about," Dutch told him.
"Josiah Trelawny," Arthur said as Josiah greeted him in his own way. Josiah Trelawny wears a black suit and a black top hat that makes him look like a magician, which he kind of is.
Josiah Trelawny is another man Dutch found and met, he provided good information in the past, and one time, when Arthur was captured by bounty hunters at Chicago after their bank robbery over there, he warned to Dutch about the bounty hunters caught Arthur and took him to the Illinois State Penitentiary. And thanks to him, Dutch knows this and he, Mac, Davey, and Bill stormed in their break him out. If it weren't for Trelawny, Arthur would've to rot in there for the rest of his life. Sometime after that, he left the gang and went to New York to find some other businesses there.
"I thought you'd gone to New York," Arthur told him.
"And miss all this glamour?" Josiah replied. "You must be joking.
"How are you?" He asked as he tries to take a seat.
"Well, quite well indeed," Josiah answered. "I went to Blackwater looking for you gentlemen. You're not very popular there it seems." He notices Javier, Bill and Charles came by. "Ah, Javier and Charles. I've missed you, and Bill looking as well as can be. Gentlemen, always a pleasure."
"You're right," Dutch told him. "we ain't too popular in Blackwater."
"We left a lot of money there," Arthur added.
"And young Sean it seems," Josiah told him.
The mention of Sean brings a little hope to Arthur. Was Sean still alive? If he is, how could they rescue him?
"Sean?" Dutch asked him. "You found him?"
"Yes, I have," Josiah confirmed. "He's being held by some bounty hunters, trying to see how much money the government will pay them. I know he's in Blackwater, but there's talk of moving him."
Blackwater, along with New Austin, they're heavily wanted there and no doubt being patrolled by Pinkertons and Bounty Hunters. The last thing they need is to get shot to death on sight the minute they set foot on Great Plains.
"Well, if we step foot in Blackwater," Arthur said as he stood up. "well, then we're dead men for sure."
"There'll be Pinkertons all over the place," Dutch told him. "but if he's alive, we gotta try."
Welp, what choice do they have anyway? None, of course.
"It's you they want, Dutch," Josiah told him.
"Always is," Dutch replied. "Charles, go find out what you can, carefully. Josiah, take Javier. Arthur, go get yourself cleaned up. Join them when you're ready."
"What about me?" Bill asked as the other three left to Blackwater.
"Well exactly," Dutch replied. "what about you?"
"W-What does that mean?" Bill asked again.
"Ah, Bill. Come on."
As everyone left, Arthur went to the nearby barrel filled with water and splashed his face with it. Yeah, he better go get himself cleaned up. So he went to the hotel, paid 25 cents for a bath, after 10 minutes of cleaning himself, Arthur gets off the bathtub and get dressed, and head out, he went back into the general store to get some new clothes. He bought a brown, jacket, new black pants, and a new black shirt, he also bought his hunting vest with him before going to the salon so he put that on as well.
Arthur went out, looking so clean and felt refresh, and with some new clothes, Arthur picked up his black hat in the salon and decided to do a little bit of work before heading back to camp.
