Before you read this, you might want to go back and reread Chapter 6 and Chapter 9, because I've done some rewriting to those two. The reason I did this was because I did a reread of it all and decided to fix somethings.
Now onto the Chapter.
Chapter 10 – Family
Harry stood outside his friends Hermione's house with her as well as his wife Kori and her Dick Grayson (Robin).
"I'm glad you all came with me," she said as she took a deep calming breath.
"I understand why you wanted Harry and by extension Kori, but why me?" Dick asked her.
"Because I believe you can help me by giving me a different perspective from myself after I learn the truth from my parents," she told him.
"She has a point there. You've been trained by one of the best in that regard, though we will still have to wait for her guests to get here," Harry said with a shrug.
Hermione then rang the bell of her house. It took a few seconds before the door was opened by a woman with short red hair who smiled when she saw her.
"Welcome home Hermione. How was your trip with your friends?" the woman asked.
"It was great Mum, but I got told something that I'm going to want to ask you about," she told her.
Her Mother's face had a look of sadness on it as she stepped back from the door, "Your Father and I will answer whatever questions you have, but before that why don't you and your friends come in."
"Mum there are going to be a couple of others showing up as well. I hope that's okay," she said after she stepped inside with her friends.
"Then we should probably head to the Dinning Room," her Mother said as she lead the way through the house and into a room with a large wooden table in it that had a blonde-haired man sitting at it.
When they entered the man looked up and smiled, "Welcome back Princess."
"Hi Dad. Umm…I guess some introductions are in order. This is Harry Potter, my friend from Hogwarts. Koriand'r Potter, his Wife. And Finally, Dick Grayson, a friend of Kori's," Hermione said as she indicated each person by pointing to them.
"It's nice to meet you. I'm Dr. Daniel Granger and this is my Wife Dr. Emma Granger," the man said as he got up and shook each of their hands.
At that moment the doorbell rang.
"I'll get that," her Mom said as she left the room.
Her Father looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
Hermione fidgeted while she said, "I'll explain in a moment Dad."
Just then her Mother walked into the room with a tall black-haired man with blue eyes wearing glasses, a white button up shirt, khaki pants, and dress shoes. Along with him was a blonde-haired woman with blue eyes, wearing a white shirt, knee length blue skirt, and black shoes.
When both people had entered the room, they were a little startled to see both Dick and Kori there.
The woman was the first to speak, "What are you both doing here?"
"We've come to help my Husbands friend, Hermione, find answers, friend Kara," Kori answered her.
Both of Hermione's parents glanced at each other when they heard her say this.
Then man looked at the others in the room, "Then we should probably introduce ourselves. I'm Clark Kent and this is my cousin Kara."
Hermione stares at him, "You mean the famous reporter from 'The Daily Planet' in Metropolis?"
"Yeah, that's my cousin," Kara said as she slapped him on the back.
Emma cleared her throat, "Please take a seat. Would any of you like something to drink or eat?"
"Just tea, please," Harry said as he held out a chair for Kori, before taking a seat himself.
The others nodded in agreement.
When Emma came back, she sat a cup in front of everyone while putting the pot in the center of the table.
"So, what's Batman's sidekick doing here?" Dan asked while looking right at Dick.
Everyone looked at him with astonishment.
"I-I don't know…" was all Dick was able to get out, before Emma interrupted him.
"You can't fool us. We know you're Robin. It's actually quite obvious. Bruce Wayne adopted you after your parents died, just after that Batman gets a sidekick named Robin, later Robin helped found the Teen Titans with Starfire, whose real name is Koriand'r, and she's sitting right there. Which means you are Robin," Emma said as she ticked off each point on her fingers.
"She has you there Dick," Kara said with a laugh.
"Umm…we're getting off task. I wanted to ask you both a very important question," Hermione said trying to get this over with.
Both of her parents sighed, before her Father said, "Go ahead."
Hermione swallowed before she asked, "Was I adopted?"
It was her Mother who answered, "Yes, but not in the normal sense."
"What do you mean?" she asked confused.
Dan grab his wife's hand under the table, "We should probably start in December of 1980. Your Mother and I were coming back from a Christmas Party that we had attended. We were passing by Rendlesham Forest when we saw a bright light appear, before it streaked past above us and crashed into the woods next to the road. I immediately stopped the car so that we could check to make sure no one was hurt. As we rushed into the woods, we came across a strange object. It looked like an escape capsule from a Sci-Fi show. As we got closer to it the top opened and inside, we saw a baby. To be accurate it was you no more than a year old. Your Mother picked you up out of that thing and fell in love with you immediately. A few minutes later we heard people coming in our direction from deeper in the woods. We made a split decision in that moment and took you with us as we drove off from there. A few weeks later we moved and through some connections were able to fill out the paperwork to adopt you."
"That's fascinating, but what does that have to do with us?" Kara asked while sneaking peaks at Hermione.
"When I went to attend Harry and Kori's Wedding on Tamaran, they noticed that was stronger than what I should be. That led to them taking a sample of my blood and comparing it to their database. They found out that I was actually not Human, but a Kryptonian. In fact I'm related to someone named Jor-El," Hermione told them.
Clark was floored by the information that he just heard, but it was Kara who spoke up, "Do you have any birth marks?"
Hermione and her parents nodded while wondering why she asked such an odd question.
"Would it be in the shape of a crescent moon with a shooting star over it?" she asked with a slight bit of hope in her voice.
"Yes, but how did you…" Hermione started to ask when Kara moved to her side so fast that it looked like she apparated and picked her up in a hug so tight that she thought her ribs were going to break.
Everyone looked at Clark for some sort of explanation.
He gave a deep sigh realizing that he's going to have to reveal something that he's tried to secret from the public, "Kara and I are also both Kryptonians and Jor-El is my birth Father. Kara is my cousin from Krypton, but we didn't know anyone else might have survived. Most of those that We've found have been quite Evil. Trying to take over the World or destroy it. Though I don't really understand Hermione's connection to my Father or why Kara would be asking about a birthmark."
Kara let go of Hermione at that point and turned to look at everyone else with a smile on her face, "You wouldn't, cousin, because you were only a few months old when Krypton was destroyed. Our Fathers had a sister who married into a very prominent family that didn't work in the Science Branch of our Culture. They dealt with Magic. Researching it, studying it, and using it for the betterment our Society. She gave birth to a little girl just a few months before you were born. Our Aunt, Alyssa, named her Maillia. You two actually played together a lot for the few months before our Planets destruction. It was actually amusing seeing her summon toys out of you hand every time you tried to hoard them to yourself. You would get so frustrated. It was really cute," Kara finished with a chuckle.
"But why would you think I'm your cousin?" Hermione asked her.
"Simple, you being related to Jor-El by blood, the description of your birthmark, and the fact that you just survived a full Kryptonian force hug without wincing," she told her with a smile.
"Wait, you used your full strength on her," Clark asked her in horror.
Kara shrugged, "I had a feeling she would survive it."
"That's no excuse. You could've killed her," he said trying to reason with her.
"Excuse me, but does that mean you will be taking me from my Family?" Hermione asked with a slight bit of worry in her voice.
"No, cousin. It seems that your adopted parents have raised you right, just like the Kent's did with Clark. Though I hope you'll not have such a problem with learning to fly that he did," she told her while giving her shoulder a squeeze.
Hermione's eyes grew wide in fright when she heard this.
When Kara saw her reaction to the idea of flying, she realized that it might take some time to help her get over the possible fear she has of either flight or heights. Shen then asked, "So, have you found some way to learn about Magic?"
"Yes, she has. Both Hermione and I attend a School of Magic in Scotland," Harry answered for her.
Hermione then whipped her head in his direction, "Harry! You can't tell them that! What about the 'Statute of Secrecy'?"
"Friend Hermione, I think telling Kara and Clark wouldn't go against this Law you speak of. They are your Family," Kori told her.
"It's alright Hermione, Kara and I know about Magic. In fact we've got some Magic users as friends," Clark told her.
"I-I just don't want anyone to have their memories wiped or us be sent to Prison," she told them while wringing her hands.
Dick took her hand, "I don't think that's going to happen and even if it does, we have enough friends that they would regret it. Now, why don't you tell us about the classes you are taking at school."
She gave him a brief smile, which was noticed by everyone else, before she replied, "There are our basic classes: Charms, Transfiguration, Herbology, History of Magic, Potions, Astrology, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. I also take Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, and Care of Magical Creatures as electives. Harry also takes Divination along with Care of Magical Creatures as his electives."
"Aren't there any courses like Math, Science, or Social Studies?" Kara asked in confusion.
"No, once we started attending Hogwarts we stopped keeping up with our Non-Magical Education," Harry told her.
"That's not good. How are you supposed to function outside of the Magical Society?" Clark asked in surprise.
"I was thinking of going to collage after I graduated," she told him.
"It would be better if you kept up with your Non-Magical education before you graduate," Kara said with concern in her voice.
"I might be able to help with that. Just let me make a call," Dick said as he pulled out a device from his pocket, "Hey, Bruce. How are you doing? That's good. I was wondering if I could ask you for a favor for a," at that moment he took a quick look at both Hermione and Harry, "couple of acquaintances of mine? Huh? What do you mean you'll give me an answer in person?" After that Dick pulled the device away from himself and looked at it in confusion, "He hung up on me."
At that moment the doorbell rang.
Emma got up and went to answer it. When she got back, she was standing next to a black-haired man in a business suit.
The man looked at everyone and smiled when he saw Clark, Kara, Dick, and Kori.
"What are you doing here, Bruce?" Clark asked, surprised to see him.
"I was intrigued when Dick here sent me a request a few weeks ago to look into the family tree of one Lily Potter nee Evans. When I found out that one of her Ancestors married a possible Tamaranian I did a little more digging, which made me look into the British Magical Society more than I have before. I'll want to talk to you more about that later, Mr. Boy-Who-Lived," he said as he looked at Harry. "Then when you and your friends went to Tamaran for a supposed Wedding and coming back wanting me to get ahold of Clark and Kara for a reason you wouldn't tell me. I figured I would follow and see what was going on. Congrates on finding another member of your family," he said while looking at Clark and then Kara, "Also, congrates on your Marriage," glancing at Harry and Kori, "Now what was this favor you wanted to ask of me?" finally looking at Dick.
All Dick did was raise an eyebrow before he answered, "It would seem that the Education of British Magicals lacks anything in the way of normal courses from the Non-Magical part of our World. I wanted to know if you had anyway of helping Hermione and Harry get caught up to and keep up with that?"
"Of course I do. I'll just send a computer with each of them and have them take courses with tutors using them," Bruce said with a small wave of his hand.
"Umm… Mr. Wayne, I don't think that will be possible. Magic prevents Muggle technology from working," Hermione spoke up, being slightly intimidated in his presence.
He looked at her, "Hermione, right?"
She nodded.
"How certain are you of that?" he asked her.
"It's in every book I've read that Magic interferes with Muggle devices to such a degree that they don't work properly or are unable to ever work again," she told him like she had memorized it from a book.
Bruce shook his head, "You've been lied to and misinformed. I Magic caused all of those types of problems then your 'Statute of Secrecy' would have failed along time ago. With Non-Magical technology advancing so quickly over the past hundred years and Non-Magicals living so close to Magicals now they should have been discovered due to the dead zones in technology, but they haven't. The reason for that is because those in power don't want to lose it as well as not letting Muggleborn's like Hermione trying to improve their Society in ways they don't want. Just think of some of the places that Magicals live and how close they are to Non-Magicals."
Harry and Hermione actually did start to think and realized that with both Diagon Alley and the Ministry of Magic being in the middle of London, people would have found those places and investigated them.
After Hermione realized this, she looked at Bruce, "I think I will accept your offer Mr. Wayne."
"Good. How about you Mr. Potter?" he answered while turning to Harry.
"I don't know if I really need a Non-Magical Education. After I graduate, I'm Probably going to live with Kori, where ever that's going to be, and help her as a Hero. After that, when her parents step down as the Rulers of Tamaran, we'll take over," he told him with a shrug of his shoulders.
"You'll need a better Education to live among Non-Magicals as well as needing more than just common knowledge and your Magical Education for Ruling over an entire Planets worth of people," Bruce told him with a slight frown.
"Friend Bruce is right, my Husband. You will need more knowledge so that you can become a great Ruler like my Father," Kori told Harry as she took and squeezed his hand.
"Excuse me, but what will this cost us?" Dan asked with a little concern.
"Nothing at all. I just want to help out, though after she graduates and has a good Collage Education, I would be more than willing to employ her at one of WayneTech's British Branches," Bruce answered him with a slight smirk on his face.
Harry sighed, "Alright, but don't expect me to be a genus when it come to my Muggle Educational learning."
"Well, now that that's settled. I'll be following you to this School so that I can help Hermione get a grip on her powers. Plus, it will give me a chance to reconnect with her," Kara said while giving Hermione a conspirital smile.
"How are you going to follow us? Our School isn't able to be found by Muggles," Harry replied to her with a little confusion.
"I'll just stick around her and go with her until you head off to School," she answered him while waving her hand.
"Alright, now that that's settled. Who wants to stay for Dinner?" Emma said as she got up from the table.
Hermione looked at Dick with a bit of pleading in her eyes, "I think I can."
Clark and Kara looked at each other, before Clark spoke up, "We can. I know I haven't had a home cooked meal in a while and I would love to try some British food."
"I'm with you Clark. A nice home cooked meal is definitely something I wouldn't turn down," Bruce said.
"Good. Come on Dan I'm going to need your help," Emma said as she led her husband into the kitchen.
-HmK-
A/N: I do apologize for the long wait on this one. I really hope that with this chapter I've been able to explain why Hermione is a Kryptonian. I've also set up something that I hope most people could see with regards to a relationship for her.
Now my reference to the 'Rendlesham Forest Incident' was something that came to me that I thought was perfect. It's an actual UFO sighting in England and happened during the time that I mentioned. I also didn't have to modify the date for it at all to have to fit it in for how old Hermione is.
Other than these couple of things, please read and review.
