Yang and Blake have been looking for a place to make their base for over a week. None of the locations they went to was viable as there were too many hostile creatures. Yang was swooped by a Wyvern and nearly became food if it wasn't for Blake, who found a vine and tossed it to her to grab on.

"Yang! Grab hold!" Blake shouted. "Whatever you do, don't let go!".

"I know that much!" Yang shouted. She then started punching the Wyvern. "Let go of me! You stupid lizard!".

"Come on, think! Think Belladonna!" Blake shouted to herself. She then saw the improvised spear that she made. She threw the spear at the Wyvern's eye, and it affected it enough to drop Yang. However, the Wyvern was now aggro on her. "Oh crap! Come on, Yang! We need to run!".

"Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit!" Yang shouted while running. She then saw a cave and told Blake to head there since the Wyvern wouldn't fit. Yang and Blake sighed a sigh of relief when it worked. "That's a fucking Wyvern! This fucking place has a mythical creature!".

"Really?" Blake said. "I thought it was a Dragon".

"No," Yang said. "Dragons are different and much larger. They are also said to have either two legs and two arms or four legs, but both front legs can be used as a hand or something like that. At least those are the things I know from fairy tales".

"See! And you didn't want to believe about giant spiders a week or so ago," Blake said. "I'm glad I didn't go to that cave because I hate spiders".

Since then, Yang has been more alert and has taken the training more seriously. Glynda was panicked when she saw that Yang and Blake were attacked by a Wyvern, but Jaune calmed her down and showed her that Yang and Blake were fine. Qrow didn't see any of this because if he did, then he would have been more panicked than Glynda. Yang is his niece, after all.

Five miles away from Yang and Blake were Ren and Nora. The duo was able to complete tasks from the PDA left and right. Thanks to that, they were rewarded with different types of blueprints. One such blueprint was a thatch house and a bed.

With a good location as the one they found after leaving the spider-infested cave, they were cruising through the survival training. However, they never once let their guard down. They knew how important it is in a hostile environment. They learned that during their travel to Vale, they let their guard down and nearly got killed by a Beringel. On that day, they swore never to let their guard down in the wilds.

Ruby and Weiss were trying to complete their task. Once they do, they'll be able to make a temporary base and have a bed rather than the usual caves for a base and compacted leaves for a bed. However, the task they need to complete isn't easy.

Ruby and Weiss must take down a Raptor, and they were on the verge of completion as they were able to trap a Raptor between two thick trees, and Weiss had the idea of using the vines of the trees to lock it in place.

Ruby used an improvised knife that she made to kill the Raptor. With it dead, Weiss decided to skin it and take the meat. The task they completed was the same thing that Ren and Nora had to go through. The only difference is that Nora was able to tame the Raptor instead of killing it.

"Phew! That's great!" Ruby said. "We finally beat our first dino".

"And we got a lot of meat to eat for a while," Weiss said. "We need to figure out a way to store them. Look in the PDA. There might be a fridge or something that we can get as a reward".

"There is," Ruby said. "For us to get the fridge as a reward, we need to take down a Direwolf in the snowy region. However, it has a warning that Direwolves run in a pack, so we have to be careful".

"That seems easier than a Raptor. It's just a wolf," Weiss said. "But I'm not going to fall for any of the tricks of this world. I nearly died multiple times because I was careless and let my guard down".

"So, are we going to take down a Dire Wolf?" Ruby said. "Because I don't really want to at the moment since we don't have any gear for the cold".

"That's true," Weiss said. "Why don't we establish a good base first before we do anything else. By the way, what other rewards are there?".

"There is a lot to pick from," Ruby said. "There is even a special task list. I saw one of the specials, and let me tell you, it sounds difficult since we have to take down multiple different creatures for one task. However, the rewards are worth it. And then there is a special long-term mission. The reward for that is given after the survival training. And I'm aiming for it".

"Why? It wouldn't benefit us," Weiss said. "We need to think about now, rather than the future since we can die any moment if we aren't careful".

"You're only saying that because you don't know the rewards," Ruby said. "I want the thing called a God Arc. I saw one of them in a store called Arc Industries Online, and let me tell you, it is awesome! And I want one. Plus, the PDA says that the God Arc reward is special from the ones that can be bought from the store".

"I still don't think we should do the long-term mission," Weiss said. "It isn't worth it".

"That's not true," Ruby said. She was determined to do the long-term mission. However, it was a mission that would need to be approved by both team members. "If we complete the mission, we both get a special reward. I get the God Arc, and you can pick your reward".

"Wait, are you saying we both get one each," Weiss said. Now she was interested since she had long thought that they get one reward. "Let me see that. Hmm…Oh! This looks amazing. Lambent Light, a special weapon made of Vibranium. When wielded by a Schnee, there are special abilities. That's interesting. Fine! We'll do the long-term mission. What do we even have to do?".

"Let's see," Ruby said, and she started reading the requirements. "To complete the mission, the team must take down one of each creature. Direbear, Direwolf, Raptor, Deathworm, Giganotosaurus, Griffin, Manticore, Spinosaurus, Titanoboa, Wyvern and lastly, a Dragon".

"That's…" Weiss said. "How are we going to accomplish that?! That's near impossible without our weapons".

"True," Ruby said. "However, we can do two of the special mission to get our weapons".

"You seem to be quite knowledgeable about this," Weiss said. "How long have you been planning this?".

"For a while, "Ruby said with a smile. "I really want the God Arc: Variant Scythe".

"You, Miss Rose, are quite sneaky," Weiss said. "Tell me, did you also plan on me seeing Lambent Light?".

"Yup!" Ruby said with a pop on the p. "I knew you'd be interested. Not only is the weapon beautiful and elegant, but I knew you would be attracted to the Schnee special ability thingy".

Weiss just shook her head. She couldn't believe that she had fallen for Ruby's trap.

Now on to Pyrrha, she struggled the most. All the tasks that needed to be completed were difficult when done by a single person. But, she wasn't a person to give up. Thanks to that attitude, Pyrrha was being chased by a Megalosaurus.

Pyrrha explored a cave to see if it was a viable living space. However, she did not see a sleeping Megalosaurus on the ground, and she stepped on it, that was enough to wake it up and anger it. Pyrrha was lucky that it was daytime. Megalosaurus are slow and sluggish during the day.

In the mobile base, Jaune and Glynda watched Pyrrha running around to avoid the Megalosaurus in the cave.

"You know," Jaune said. "Pyrrha was lucky that it was daytime. Otherwise, Megalosaurus are fast at night and is a pest to deal with".

"Is there anything normal in this place?" Glynda asked. "First, dinosaurs are already unbelievable. Now, there was a Wyvern. What next? A dragon?".

"Yup," Jaune said, which caused Glynda's jaw to drop because she was only exaggerating. "Didn't think I would say yes, did you?".

"No, I did not," Glynda said while fixing her glasses. "By the way, the scanners were picking up machines moving around that isn't our camera. Do you know anything about that?".

"I do," Jaune said. "What the scanners are picking up is the Tek variant of the creatures here. They are tameable like the Raptor that Nora tamed. However, they are stronger than their biological counterpart".

"How much stronger?" Glynda said. "I hope they aren't too much for the students".

"Around twenty percent stronger," Jaune replied. "Not too much stronger, that it's something to worry about".

"By the way," Glynda said. "Where are Qrow and Amber?".

"Well, Qrow was being lazy, so I told him to go and hunt something for us to eat," Jaune said. "As for Amber, she's in the training room. She wanted to gain more control over her the Fall Maiden's power".

"I see…" Glynda said. Then her eyes grew wide. "S-So you do know about the Maiden's".

"I do," Jaune said. "However, I have no interest in it".

"I see," Glynda said. "But, why aren't you interested in it?".

Jaune didn't answer. He just smiled and continued watching the monitor. Glynda, on the other hand, was looking at Jaune. She was trying to figure out why Jaune didn't have an interest in the Maiden's power. After all, it was magic. Glynda then remembered all things Jaune can do and realised everything he's done is almost magic, or maybe it is. That's when she understood. Jaune was more than meets the eye.
