Two months into the survival training and everyone is finally doing better. Ren and Nora were the first to build their base and complete a task. However, Ruby and Weiss caught up and made theirs as well. Blake and Yang were able to find a base location after a long struggle and have started to take on some of the tasks, which irritated them since they didn't know they could accept them already, meaning they could have built a base a while back. And finally, Pyrrha was able to get away from the Megalosaurus in the cave and find the exit. Unlike Yang and Blake, Pyrrha knew about the task list, but it was difficult for a single person to complete, especially without a weapon.

Ruby and Weiss have accepted a mission that would allow them to retrieve their weapons from Jaune. The task was difficult. For Ruby to receive her Crescent Rose, they must kill an Allosaurus. As for Weiss, to get her Myrtenaster, they must kill a Pulmonoscorpius. None of these creatures is easy to kill.

However, they were able to accomplish it within the month. The duo was so happy that they now had a weapon to protect themselves. Said weapons were delivered by Jaune personally to them, and they even got a well done from him. Both girls giggled and blushed at the praise, especially when Jaune petted them in the head.

"Finally!" Weiss said. "We can finally protect ourselves!".

"Oh, my baby! How I missed you!" Ruby said while kissing her scythe. "Finally! We can hunt bigger gains for better food".

"I told you that we should have concentrated on killing the Direwolves to get a fridge," Weiss said. "If we did that, then the meat that we had would not have gone bad".

"That's dumb, Weiss," Ruby said. "How would we defeat the Direwolves if we didn't have our weapon? We struggled with one Raptor without our weapon. We were lucky to get that dino stuck in a tree".

"You do make a great point," Weiss said. She then sighed. "Sorry. I'm just frustrated that we had to go back eating berries for a while".

"Hey, I did tell you to pick up the eggs we found abandoned," Ruby said. "But no…You didn't want to pick it up. There were no creatures around".

"I already explained to you that I'm too scared to pick up any egg, okay," Weiss said with a huff. "I…Every time I see an egg, I remember the time I picked up the Raptor egg and nearly got killed. It'll take time before I try and pick up eggs again".

"Look, I get it," Ruby said. "But if you don't adapt, we will die. You need to conquer your fear because you can only eat so many berries before it becomes bad for you. You need to have proper nutrients on your body to function properly".

"You don't need to lecture me about healthy eating, Ruby," Weiss said. "I know all about that. I'm just surprised that you're not going on a cookie withdrawal with how much you love the damn confectionary".

"Hey!" Ruby shouted. "I'm quite healthy, thank you very much. Just because I love cookies and eat them whenever I can doesn't mean I don't eat healthily".

"Anyway," Weiss said. "Now that we have our weapons, what do we do?".

"First of all," Ruby said. "If we want to take on the Direwolves, we need snow gear. According to the PDA, we can craft Fur Armour using Pelt, Hair, Wool and Hide. Then we need to smelt some of the metal that we get from mining using a furnace. The blueprint for it is already available and ready to be crafted. All we need to do is get the raw materials".

"What is the purpose of the metal?" Weiss asked. "How long do you think we need before we could craft the Fur Armour?".

"First, the purpose of the metal is for armour plating," Ruby said. "Second, it might take a week to gather all the resources".

"That's faster than I thought," Weiss said. She then saw a Dodo walk by. "Say, Ruby. DO you think those chicken looking things would taste like chicken?".

"I don't know," Ruby said. "But I'm guessing we're about to find out".

This was the first time Ruby and Weiss came across a Dodo since they aren't in a region where Dodoes is plentiful, like the beach. The Dodo never saw it coming. A hungry Weiss sliced its head off. Ruby cheered, and she gutted the bird. She no longer had the urge to vomit after butchering something for food. First, Ruby drained all the blood from the bird, removed all the organs, and finally de-feathered the bird. After prepping the bird, Ruby roasted it in the campfire she made. That day, Ruby and Weiss ate like kings.

Blake and Yang, who were quite far from Ruby and Weiss, felt like strangling their other teammates. They didn't know why, but they had the feeling that they were enjoying themselves.

"Blake, please tell me we have more than berries to eat," Yang said. "I'm getting sick of the berries. I think some of them are poisonous. I even passed out eating the black one".

"Yang, did you not use the scanner to see what the black berries are?" Blake said. Yang shook her head. "I can't believe you survived this long. According to the scanner, the black one is called a Narcoberry. It is bitter and has toxins in it that would cause the eater to fall asleep".

"Oh!" Yang said in realisation. "So, it's a narcotics".

"Pretty much," Blake said. "Next time, use the scanner to make sure that what you eat is safe. I can't save you if you suddenly fall asleep while I'm gathering food and materials".

"Enough of that," Yang said. "So, are we going to take on some of the tasks. Because it looks beneficial for us".

"Yes, Yang," Blake said. "We are going to pick a task. The question is, what task to take? There are quite a few. There is even a task we can do to retrieve our weapon from Jaune".

"That mission would only be useful for you," Yang said. "Ember Celica relies heavily on Dust. We aren't on Remnant, no Dust usage for me".

"That's true," Blake said. "But if we take the mission to retrieve Gambol Shroud, we will have two weapons. A cleaver and a sword".

"One problem, Blake," Yang said. "I don't know how to use a sword or a cleaver".

"Maybe we can look for something in the PDA task list that can give you ammunition that works in this world," Blake said. "It seems like the PDA has everything we may need".

"Where do you think Jaune got all those things anyway?" Yang asked. "A lot of the things I saw there aren't available in any of the stores in Vale".

"Really?" Blake said in confusion. "A lot of the things in the PDA can be bought in Menagerie".

"Whaaaaaaaaat?!" Yang said. "How? I know Jaune made your people in Menagerie a city, but where did you get tech that even Atlas don't have?".

"Jaune, of course," Blake said. "He opened a company in Menagerie. It's called the Arc Industries. It sells things from kitchen appliances to Huntsman grade gear".

"Wait, did you say Arc Industries?" Yang said. Blake nodded. "I remember that name. I think Ruby was browsing their catalogue before we entered Beacon. She was so engrossed in it that she didn't react no matter what I did to her. She even tried to buy one of their weapons, but the price of one was astronomical".

"What kind of weapon did she want to buy?" Blake said. "I know that only a few weapons in the catalogue would be expensive like the God Arc or BFG 9000".

"That's the one!" Yang said. "The God Arc: Variant Scythe. That's the one that Ruby wanted to buy. But the price was in the hundreds of thousands. And what is the BFG 9000?".

"The BFG 9000 stands for Big Fucking Gun 9000," Blake said. "If you see it, you'll know why it was named that way".

"Because it was big?" Yang said.

"No, because it was Big," Blake said, stressing the word big. "But that's the name Jaune gave because it was big. Officially, the name is Bio Force Gun".

"I got to see it now," Yang said. "It would be worth it to go to Menagerie just to see it in person".

Blake didn't say anything. Instead, she looked at the PDA and searched for a task they could do with a good reward. Right now, they need to figure out a way to hunt for food. Unlike in their original location, Blake could swim in the water and catch a fish. However, they no longer have that luxury.

Near Viking Bay, you'd see Ren and Nora. Ren was fishing for food, and Nora was dealing with the taming. They've completed the most task and have the most blueprint to work with. That's why if you look around, you'd see their base is no longer made of thatch or wood. Instead, they have a stone base, and inside that stone base are generators, a fridge and other equipment.

"Ren! The Argentavis is tamed!" Nora shouted. "We can go further now to look for resources".

"That's great," Ren said. Then he caught a Salmon. "I guess we're having salmon for dinner later".

"Ugh…Fish again," Nora said. "Can't we catch one of the Dodo and eat it?".

"I don't know how to prep a Dodo, Nora," Ren said. "But if you can catch one and kill it, I can try and drain its blood, then remove its guts.".

"Cool!" I'll go and get one," Nora said. "We'll have fish and chicken today. I'll also check on the garden to see if the potatoes are done. That way, we can have fish and chips with a side of chicken".

"That'd be great," Ren said. "It would be better if I could also make some of my healthy smoothies".

Nora gagged at the notion of drinking Ren's drinks. Ren doesn't know that Nora has been slowly killing plants in their garden just enough that Ren can't make his 'Healthy Drink' but can still be used for other recipes. Nora would never allow Ren to make the drink because she would be forced to drink it.

In the mobile base, Jaune and Glynda monitored everyone's progress and safety. Glynda sighed at the sight of Pyrrha being alone and incapable of completing the tasks. She looked at Jaune but knew that he wouldn't budge since it was Pyrrha's punishment.

"You really won't change your mind about Pyrrha?" Glynda asked. "She's struggled enough".

"She has," Jaune said. "However, I believe in Pyrrha. I believe that she can get through the survival training alone. It's more than just a punishment. It's what I believe she is capable of".

"You really think that?" Glynda said. "If it was me, I would have stopped her participation or made her join another group".

"You've watched her actions long enough," Jaune said. "Haven't you noticed that she would struggle at every first encounter, but the next encounter, she would understand how the creatures think?".

"That's…" Glynda was about to say something, but she thought back, and Jaune was right. Pyrrha would struggle the first time, but when she meets the same creature, she would have enough understanding of it that she would be able to outmanoeuvre it. "That's true".

"Sometimes," Jaune said. "To bring one's potential out, you have to let them struggle. Pyrrha's been a winner for a long time. When she became a champion, she became complacent. During matches, she would hold back because she feared that her peers would ignore her. That's why she held back during her spar with me. However, here, she understands that her strength isn't enough. So, she's pushing herself further than she ever has. Her observational skills and instincts are getting better. You could sometimes see her counter the creature without even looking".

While watching the students, Glynda and Jaune saw a Corvid in the camera. It was being chased by a Griffin. That Corvid was Qrow. Since he wasn't doing anything, Jaune decided he was the one to procure all the meat.

Jaune didn't really need him to go hunting since the base is stacked with food. Glynda knew this since she's been in the walk-in freezer in the kitchen, but Qrow? Not so much. Jaune and Glynda were laughing at Qrow. Even with his semblance no longer in play, the man is still unlucky.
