Exhausted. That's what Ruby and Weiss were feeling after fighting a Dragon. Nonetheless, the duo beat one of the most dangerous creatures in Ark: Ragnarök. For that, Jaune brought them back to the base to rest. However, once Ruby and Weiss knew they were safe, their exhaustion kicked in, and they fell asleep and Jaune's arm. To Jaune, Weiss and Ruby weigh nothing even though they are around one-hundred-and-ninety-five kilos (429 lbs), same as Nora.
The following morning, Ruby and Weiss woke up. When they left the room that they were sleeping in and arrived at the common area of the portable base, they heard clapping. It was everyone clapping at their achievement. This included Jaune, Glynda, Amber and Qrow. Qrow looked like he was about to die. He was pale and could barely move his hands. This was due to the training that he was going through with Jaune. Glynda and Amber were also in the same boat. Jaune looked at Ruby and Weiss with a smile.
"Congratulations on completing the absolute task," Jaune said. "I'm proud of what you've accomplished. And congratulations on unlocking your special reward".
"T-Thank you," Ruby said with a blush. She wasn't used to being the centre of attention. "Uhm…Can I ask if Crescent Rose was retrieved?".
"I was able to retrieve all the pieces," Jaune said. "However, even if we put it back together, it would no longer be a useable weapon. Unless we melt it down and reforge it from there".
"No," Ruby said sadly. "That's fine. Crescent Rose did her best. That's enough".
"Both of you, come with me," Jaune said. He brought Ruby and Weiss into a room with weapons. Jaune then picked up a sword. "Weiss, this is Lambent Light. As you've read from the PDA, it is made from Vibranium. However, I doubt you know what Vibranium is. So, I'll give you a pamphlet later to read. For now, I'll explain the special ability that Lambent Light can give you".
"I've read that it was supposed to give Schnee a special effect," Weiss said. "However, it was never explained what it was".
"I know, I was getting to that," Jaune said. Weiss blushed at her interruption. "The special ability is regarding your summons. The two gemstones in the hilt of Lambent Light is called Elemental Stone. In a sense, it is similar to Dust. However, unlike Dust, a single stone of Elemental Stone holds the power of Fire, Ice, Lightning, Earth and Wind. And having two of them would increase its power. But the special thing about it is when you summon while activating the Elemental Stone and fusing its power with said summon. Allowing it to gain the element you chose to summon with".
"That's amazing," Weiss was nearly speechless. She's never heard of anything like it. And she didn't have a reason to believe that Jaune was lying to her. "What is the Elemental Stone if it isn't Dust?".
"For now, I can't tell you that," Jaune said. "However, maybe in the future I would. It all depends on how our relationship as student-teacher or friendship develops".
"So, this is a super-secret item then?" Weiss said. Jaune nodded. "Very well, I won't bother with the detail. However, I do hope that we do become friends in the future rather than just a student-teacher".
Jaune nodded. He then told Wiess that she couldn't use her sword right now as she still needed to learn how to control it. Then Jaune looked at Ruby.
Unfortunately, Ruby's reward isn't as simple as Weiss since she has to pick the parts she wants to make as her God Arc. Ruby opened a device in the room and told Ruby to look through it. From there, Ruby was so excited. The number of options she has was amazing.
"This is amazing!" Ruby said. "Can I combine different types?"
"Yes, you can," Jaune said. "It's up to you what you want. For example, you can combine a buckler, a sniper and a scythe and different elements".
"Cool!" Ruby said with excitement. "I would like this and this and this".
The set that Ruby picked was the Livie Collete set. However, rather than the usual Shotgun on the set, Ruby, of course, opted for the Sniper. The colour was also in Ruby's theme of Red and Black with a bit of Silver.
"Not a bad set," Jaune said. "I like going with the Sniper as well rather than the Shotgun".
"It looks like a Cannon rather than a Sniper," Ruby said with a smile. "But I like it. When do I get the completed weapon?".
"In thirty minutes," Jaune said. "You and Weiss can wait for me in the lounge, like the others. I'll head there when I'm done with making your weapon".
"Alright," Ruby said. She then looked at Weiss and pulled her. "Come on, Weiss! Let's go see the others and ask how they did".
"Slow down, Ruby!" Weiss said. "I don't think they're going anywhere".
"Fine!" Ruby said. She then pouted. "I'm sorry for dragging you".
When Ruby and Weiss got to the lounge, they sat down and started sharing stories of their experience. The others did the same. Ruby and Weiss were amazed when they heard how Pyrrha could take down a Manticore on her own. That was impressive since they knew how ferocious the creature was.
"You are amazing, Pyrrha!" Ruby said. "Weiss and I took a while to take down ours since it was up in the mountains. It nearly took our heads off at one point".
"Please don't remind me of that time, Ruby," Weiss said. "Because I don't want to relieve the time my head was inside of its mouth".
"I told you that we were being followed," Ruby said. "But you didn't listen. You should be lucky that your Aura was able to protect you from being decapitated".
"I had an experience that was close to Weiss," Pyrrha said. "However, it wasn't a Manticore. Let me tell you, a Thylacoleo is a piece of shit when you fight it in the forest. If you ever fight those things, I suggest luring them away from an area that they can climb and lunge at you".
"By the way, Ruby," Yang said. "How were you and Weiss able to fly?".
"Oh! We did a task that gave us an item called an Angel Ring," Ruby replied. "He-he…Flying is awesome! I was able to manoeuvre around much more and do things that I couldn't before".
"Do you mind if I try it out?" Yang asked. "It looked cool how you and Weiss were able to fly around when you fought that Dragon. I still can't believe that you and Weiss fought the Dragon! I thought only the insane would even consider doing that task".
"Sure! Why not?" Ruby said. "And technically, I was the only insane one. Weiss didn't even consider the long-term task until I was able to sway her with the cool new sword that she now has on her waist".
"That sword is quite beautiful," Pyrrha said. "Can we see it?".
"Not yet," Weiss said. "Jaune said I can't use the sword yet. I don't know if taking it out of the sheathe is considered using it. I don't want to take that risk and get punished".
"That's fair," Pyrrha said. "I wonder what my special reward is for taking down a Manticore on my own? I hope it's just as amazing as your new sword. By the way, what is it called?".
"According to the PDA," Weiss said. "The sword is called Lambent Light".
"Hey, Yang?" Ruby said. "Do you know what's wrong with uncle Qrow and the other professors?".
"He-he. They are like that because they experience our training," Yang said. "Jaune said that he's been training Qrow and Miss Goodwitch for a month now, and Amber has been training with Jaune for two months".
"Oh, my," Pyrrha said. "That means even veteran Huntsman and Huntresses find Jaune's training difficult".
"Difficult?" Nora said. "I heard them call Jaune a devil in disguise, and his training is actually torture. So, difficult isn't the word I would use to describe Jaune's training".
"I agree with her," Blake said, agreeing with Nora. "I still remember how my body would ache every time we finished our training".
"Hmm… Where's Bossman?" Nora asked. "I don't see him anywhere".
"He's in another room," Weiss said. "Preparing Ruby's God Arc".
"Wait!" Blake said. "You special reward is a God Arc? That's amazing. One of those goes for a few hundred thousand lien".
"I know," Ruby said. "And I always wanted one ever since I saw it online in Arc Industries. It was so cool as well. You can choose from so many different blades for melee and guns for long-range. Then there's the shield".
"You should have seen her face when she saw all the options," Weiss said. "It almost looked creepy".
"Hey!" Ruby said. "I did not look creepy!".
Thirty minutes later, Jaune came to the lounge as he told Ruby and Weiss. Once he was there, Ruby saw him carrying a God Arc with him. She was so excited.
"Now, Ruby. I hope you like the God Arc," Jaune said. and Ruby nodded. "Let me show you some of the God Arc's features".
Jaune showed Ruby the shifting ability of the God Arc from Blade to Sword to Shield. Jaune then also showed Ruby the Extended Bite of the Variant Scythe. Ruby's eyes were shining at what she saw. And then Jaune showed her the Devour feature of the God Arc. Ruby shouted and fell on her butt when Jaune activated the Devour. The Devour is like a giant mouth with eyes that can eat Grimm and absorb its energy.
"This is the Devour feature," Jaune said. "It can Devour Grimm and absorb its energy. It would filter out the darkness and only absorb its pure energy. With it, you will gain access to the ability of the God Arc known as Burst. There are three levels. Level one would boost you one-and-a-half times. Level two, two times. Level three, Three times".
"That's cool!" Ruby said. "Can I try it? Can I?".
"Not now. There are no Grimm," Jaune said. "And I haven't finished explaining the weapon".
"Sorry," Ruby said. "Please continue".
"Alright," Jaune said. "The God Arc also has a final ability. It's known as Blood Rage. If you can fill up the reserves using Devour, you'll gain access to it. Blood Rage can boost you up to ten times. It's a dangerous ability. That's why I disabled it for now. The only time you can use it is in the training room where you're safe".
"Ohhhhh!" Ruby said. "How come?".
"Once you use Blood Rage," Jaune said. "It causes immense fatigue. If you did that out in the field, you could die from Grimm as the exhaustion would get to you as the ability ends. You need to train to allow your body to get used to the exhaustion".
Ruby understood why Jaune had to disable the ability for now. But she can't wait to test it out during a training session back on Remnant. To become ten times stronger is amazing. Jaune can see the excitement in Ruby's eyes. He then told everyone that they had a week rest and could use all the facilities on the mobile base. When they heard there was a pool, they immediately went to it, then after that, they went for a massage.
