It was a well-known fact that each and every person had a soulmate. The soulmate would be revealed to a person by a name like tattoo upon a person's wrist.
Once a person reached the age of eighteen years old, they would receive the name of their soulmate. This could happen at any age after they turned eighteen years old.
John Watson, a doctor who lived in 221B Baker Street in London had never met his soulmate before, though he had always wanted to. He had never received the name of his soulmate, though it was an experience that he had always looked forward to ever since he had been a teenager.
John was looking forward to the day he could meet his soulmate, whoever his soulmate was.
One day after John returned home from his work, just as he was sitting down at his desk in his room he noticed something that looked like words upon his wrist.
Feeling a mixture of hope and curiosity fill up inside him, he rolled back the sleeve of the long-sleeved button up shirt that he had worn to work.
The name spelled out what could be a woman's name, the name of Hermione Granger.
Hermione was a good name, John decided to himself and he soon was feeling nervous. He was worried that his soulmate might not like him.
John despite feeling worried decided to start investigating his soulmate the next day and, in the meantime, he would keep this bit of new information from his flatmate Sherlock Holmes. This was personal afterall and even though Sherlock was his best friend and like a brother to John, he wanted to do this himself.
This was easier said than done though, as the only pieces of information he had of his soulmate was their name. He had no clue about where they lived, what they looked like or what kind of person they were like. The only bit of information he had was their name. He was certain that Sherlock would be able to get all the information he needed but as John had decided he wanted to do it himself.
XXXXXXX
Hermione Granger was a young woman in her late twenties, she had long brown thick hair that was usually pulled back in a ponytail. She was thin and she had brown eyes.
Hermione was just admiring the name of her soulmate on her wrist, the name of John Watson.
The name had only appeared upon her flesh very recently, a couple of days ago in fact and as soon as she had received the name of her soulmate she had gone straight into research mode.
Hermione had always looked forward to the day she would meet her soulmate, she had wanted to meet the man who she was supposed to spend her life with.
She had researched the man's name upon the internet and after performing a spell she had a good idea as to who exactly her soulmate was.
According to the results of the spell she had performed and to the internet search she had done John Watson was a doctor who lived in London, at 221B Baker Street. She had also found out that he blogged about his life and mysteries that he investigated with the man named Sherlock Holmes.
Hermione quite liked what John blogged, it was all very interesting to read about.
The following Thursday sometime close to four Hermione drove to Baker Street and knocked upon the front door of John's flat.
As Hermione waited, though excited, she couldn't help but feel nervous.
When the door opened Hermione couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed when a woman answered the door.
"Hello, can I help you dear?" asked the woman.
"Maybe..." said Hermione after a moment. "Does…Does a man by the name of John Watson live here? I….I want to talk to him about something important"
The woman smiled at Hermione, "Of course you can, he's just upstairs. Why don't you come in? I'll make you a cup of tea while you wait"
Hermione smiled, "That sounds wonderful, thank you very much" she said before walking into the flat.
The woman soon after Hermione was inside introduced herself as Mrs. Hudson and made Hermione a cup of tea before going upstairs.
Hermione didn't have to wait for very long as probably only five or ten minutes later a short man with short brown hair was walking into the room.
Hermione couldn't help but smile when she saw the man and she felt her nerves return. Hermione put down her cup of tea upon the coffee table and stood up.
"Hello, um...John Watson"
"Hi , Mrs Hudson said that you have something important to tell me" said John.
Hermione nodded and she smiled at him. "Yes, I did" she said. She then gave a pause before saying , "Well , I'm….Um…My name is Hermione Granger and I am…I am your soulmate. At least I am certain I am"
Hermione saw surprise appear upon the face of John Watson before the man smiled.
"Can I see your soulmate mark?" he asked.
Hermione blushed a little but gave a nod and approached closer to the man.
"This is it" she said as she showed the man the name that was upon her wrist.
John smiled as he saw his name upon Hermione's skin and in turn he showed Hermione her name that was on his own wrist.
The pair soon looked up at each other, both soulmates smiling.
"It's so wonderful to meet you Hermione. Um…Would it be okay if we have a date so we can get to know each other? We're practically strangers so of course it'll have to be at a public place. I know of a good restaurant that does great food"
Hermione smiled, "Sure! That sounds great, I'd love to John!" the woman said, her insides filled with excitement at the thought of a first date with her soulmate.
"Great!" said John.
The both of them then decided upon a restaurant together and a time and date for their first date together before Hermione soon left, happily looking forward to their first date.
The day of the date arrived quickly and Hermione was feeling just as she had felt on the day when she had first met John, nervous and excited but happy.
Hermione had already showered, washed her hair and everything thing else needed in getting ready for a date. This included putting on some light make up and putting on a few pieces of jewellery.
For the special occasion she had also bought some new clothes, wanting herself to look good for her soulmate.
She was wearing a blue dress with a fashionable black jacket over it and blue high heeled shoes, her long brown hair put up into a neat ponytail.
When it was time to leave for her date with John Watson she put her phone, wallet and of course, just in case she needed it, her wand in her bag. She then left her London apartment and drove to the restaurant that she and John had agreed upon for the date.
Hermione smiled when she saw John waiting for her.
Excitement, nervousness, and happiness were growing and filling her insides as she approached her soulmate.
John Watson was wearing clothes very much appropriate for a date with your soulmate. He was wearing a suit, tie, and enclosed black shoes.
In her opinion she thought that her soulmate looked quite handsome.
"Hello John! You look very handsome" she said excitedly.
John was smiling, he seemed nervous and excited as well, just as Hermione was.
"Thank you Hermione , you look very beautiful. I've been looking forward to this!"
Hermione blushed, she couldn't help it. She was happy that her soulmate liked the way she looked.
"Me too!" she said.
John and Hermione soon entered the restaurant and were shortly after seated to a table. The restaurant had a nice and romantic atmosphere. There was music playing and it was decorated beautifully in Hermione's opinion.
After ordering their meals and drinks from a waitress who had approached the table they were left alone with one another to talk to get to know each other.
They talked about trivial topics of conversation at first while drinking the glasses of wine that had arrived to the table a short time into their conversation, both feeling awkward and nervous but also excited.
They talked about work, friends, family, and their interests, as well as their dislikes and likes.
They found out that they shared things in common, for instance one thing in common was that they both had a family member with the name Harry. Hermione thought of her friend Harry as a brother and John had a sister who was named Harriet, though in John's case it was a while since he had talked to his sister.
When the meals arrived, they ate in an enjoyable silence, enjoying the food, drink, and each other's company.
After the pair had finished their meals and drink, they talked a bit more, getting to know more about each other and after what was probably half to an hour later they decided to leave.
John paid for their orders and he walked with Hermione to her car.
"So, Hermione. What do you think, should we try for a relationship? I know that we're soulmates but…" the man began.
The man's words were cut short with a kiss from Hermione, John kissed Hermione back and deepened it, pulling her closer to him.
The kiss wasn't very long but it was enjoyable to them both and there was something right about it, something perfect. It really did feel as though the person they were both kissing was the very person they had both been waiting for their whole lives.
When they separated, they were staring at each other, awe, and happiness in their eyes.
"Yes, of course I do! You're my soulmate I don't want to ever be with anyone else"
John smiled, "Good, because I want to be with you."
Hermione smiled, feeling the happiest that she was certain she had ever been before.
Hermione and John continued their relationship after the first date and would only grow closer, eventually falling in love.
