(The Owl House X Sonic the Hedgehog)
Chapter 1: The Human Witch and the Hedgehog
It started out as a normal weekend day for Luz, on the Boiling Isles. She got up, hugged King, and got prepared for the day before eating the breakfast prepared by Eda. After eating breakfast, Eda asked Luz to go to the marketplace and gave Luz a grocery list. Luz grabbed Eda's staff, Owlbert, and went outside. Hooty emerged from his place on the door to greet Luz.
"Mornin Luz!" Hooty said.
"Good morning to you too, Hooty, '' Luz replied. "Man, isn't this weather great today?" Luz smiles and looks to the sky.
"Sure!" Hooty replied, "But I have a feeling it might rain soon".
"Come on Hooty," Luz said, "There isn't a single cloud in the…" Luz is suddenly interrupted by a portal opening up. The portal spews out pieces of metal, and six streaks of color spread across the Boiling Isles. The green streak stops midair and suddenly disappears in a small flash. Luz looks in awe while Hooty seems contempt.
"Yeah, just like that!" Hooty says, seeming happy with himself that his prediction was correct.
A blue figure falls from the portal, screaming until he falls into the nearby forest. A thud can be heard.
"Oh my god!" Luz yelled out, "I think a person just fell out of that portal." Luz gets on Owlbert, and he starts to levitate. "I should check and see if they're alright" Luz speeds off into the forest to look for the fallen blue figure.
She flies past trees and shrubbery until she reaches the crash site. She looks upon the figure, a blue hedgehog with human limbs and proportions. "Whoa, It's a giant porcupine!" Luz yells out.
The hedgehog landed in some shrubbery, he is covered in bruises, and burns. Luz walks up to the hedgehog to get a closer look. She leans up to him, and slaps him in the face with a proud expression. The Hedgehog remains unconscious "Man, he's out cold, but I think he's still alive." Luz says to herself.
Luz picks the quills from her hand, before placing The Hedgehog on Owlbert. She notices an orange emerald flowing with dark energy, and puts it in her bag. She gets on Owlbert and says, "Gun it Owlbert!" speeding off back to the Owl House.
Eda and King are waiting outside when Luz returns. "Where did you go off to Kiddo?" Eda asked, "Hooty said you ran off to the forest after seeing something fall from the sky".
Luz gets off of Owlbert, "I saw this creature fall from some sort of portal", she points at the unconscious Hedgehog. Luz pulls the emerald from the bag, "He even had this strange gem.".
Eda facepalms and sighs, "you know Luz, you shouldn't touch that, you don't where that, uh… rat? has been." Eda said, "Besides, I don't think I can afford to house another pet."
"Eda, that's not the point," Luz replied, "Something weird is going on, and this guy might have some answers."
Eda thinks for a moment and sighs, "Fine, but you better fill me in, and I am not cleaning after him."
Luz and Eda bring the hedgehog inside, and place him on the couch. Luz describes to Eda the series of events that she had witnessed. About an hour later, Eda and Luz notice the hedgehog starting to wake up, so they gather around him.
"Urgh, my head," the hedgehog says, he looks around and notices the people in front of him, he pauses for a moment before falling off the couch in fright. "W-who are you people, and where am I?" the hedgehog stammered.
"Calm down mister porcupine," Luz said, "You're in a place called the Boiling Isles.". "I'm Luz Noceda, an aspiring human witch," she points at Eda, "and she's Eda the Owl Lady." Luz picks up King, who was sleeping on the Floor "And this little guy is King." Luz cuddles King as he wakes up and squirms around. "Now who are you?" Luz asks.
The Hedgehog gets up from the floor, "I'm Sonic, Sonic the hedgehog," Sonic said. He suddenly sprints all around the house at lightning speeds, grabs an apple from the kitchen and stops behind Luz, all in a few seconds. "And I'm the fastest thing alive.". He spins the apple on his finger, throws it in the air and catches it, before taking a bite. Sonic tenses up for a second, and grabs his leg in pain.
Luz's eyes widened, "whoa, how'd you get that fast." she asks.
"I-It just comes naturally I guess." Sonic replies
Luz looks in awe at sonic, meanwhile Eda looks more annoyed than anything. "Now listen Here, uh, Speedy. We have some questions for you we'd like you to answer, first of all, how did you get here, and what was with the lights in the sky.?"
"You see…" Sonic said, "I was in a battle with my rival and evil genius Dr. Robotnik, who had been at work to invent some sort of portal device. He had defeated me and taken one of the chaos emeralds to power his device, causing some strange side effects to it. Me and all of the emeralds got sucked into this world, but I had only managed to hang on to the darkened one."
"Woah, you have a rival?" Luz asks eagerly, "Also, what's a chaos emerald?".
"Well, you see…" Sonic reaches into his satchel to pull out the emerald, but he doesn't find anything. He looks around nervously, he even pats his pockets, even though he doesn't have pants, or pockets. "Oh no," Sonic says, "I think I lost the emerald"
Luz realizes that the strange gem she found by Sonic is the chaos emerald he was talking about. "Wait!" Luz shouts out, she reaches into her bag and pulls out the gem, "you mean this?".
Sonic sighs a breath of relief, "Oh thank god!" He takes the emerald from Luz. "These powerful gems have the ability to enhance one's power immensely. And if you gather all seven, you can reach what I like to call, a Super state.
Luz looks intensely at the emerald, "Imagine the kind of magic I can perform..." She Mutters silently, she reaches for the emerald.
Sonic pulls the emerald away from Luz, "Woah Luz, I Can't let you handle this emerald. We have no Idea what the portal did to it." Luz's face quickly puts on a disappointed expression, before slumping her head down and stepping back.
Hooty intrudes on the conversation, "Hoot! what are you guys yammering on about over here?" Luz stands next to Hooty, "Oh yeah, this is our resident house demon Hooty." Hooty suddenly stares at Sonic with an intense look.
"Hedgehog," He says in a deep voice "You are a foreign entity to our fragile world. Your presence here has devastating consequences to reality as we know. If you were a wise individual, you would leave before you cause irreparable damage to the very fabric of reality."
Everyone in the room looks disturbed, Hooty coughs up a bug. "Sorry about that, I had a bug in my throat, it's nice to meet you uh…"
"S-Sonic." he stammered nervously, "Sonic t-the… scared..."
Eda moves in front of Sonic, "Well it seems like you're stuck here for the time being, how about you stay here at the owl house until you find a way back to your world?"
"Well, I don't think I can afford a hotel, so sure!"
Luz grabs Sonic's hand, "I have so many questions I want to ask you"
Sonic shrugs," I actually have a few questions of my own." Sonic and Luz go into Luz's room to talk about their worlds. Eda looks on in delight and says, "I haven't seen the kid this excited since she first got here." Eda walks towards the kitchen, turns around and makes a realization. "Wait a second, Luz never went to the marketplace!" Eda grabbed Owlbert and went out.
Hours later, everyone in the owl house prepares to sleep for the night. Luz checks up on sonic who is made to sleep on the couch.
"Hey sorry you have to sleep on the couch, we don't have anywhere else for you to sleep."
"It's alright," Sonic says "I don't own a house, so this is a considerable upgrade" Sonic suddenly groans and grasps his head in pain.
"Are you okay?" Luz asked.
"Y-Yeah..." Sonic replied "I just got really messed up today. I should be fine in a couple days, I just got to take it easy in the meantime.
"Okay, well good night" Luz says, she then goes upstairs to her room.
Luz lays awake on her mattress, she can't seem to fall asleep. She sits up and taps King awake.
"Weh?" King says, "What are you doing Luz, shouldn't you be going to sleep right now?"
"I Can't," Luz replies, "I feel bad for Sonic, he can't find those chaos emeralds in his current condition. Maybe if I used the chaos emerald..."
"Things could go horribly wrong," King interrupted, "like the last time you tried messing with someone's magical item. Don't you even remember what Sonic said, he said there's no knowing what the machine did to the emerald."
"Unless we try it out!" luz interjected, "Besides, it might just be an edgy aesthetic change. And if we succeed, Sonic will be grateful, and let me help look for the emeralds."
Luz gets up from her bed and goes downstairs, King reluctantly follows. Sakura stops in front of Sonic, who is Fast asleep on the couch. Luz sneaks up close to Sonic and takes the satchel on the nightstand, she puts her hand in the bag and pulls out the chaos emerald. Sonic starts to move, and Luz quickly puts the satchel back on the nightstand and runs upstairs, bringing King with her. Sonic gets up from the couch and looks around, he doesn't see anything, so he shrugs and goes back to sleep.
Back at her room, Luz holds the emerald on her bed, King Looks worried.
"You know…" King whispers, "It's not too late to turn back. Besides, how do you even use the emerald's powers?"
"Sonic told me how he would do it." Luz said. She stood up, held up the chaos emerald, and shouted, "Chaos control!". The emerald started to levitate and emit an orange glow, "You see, aesthetic change." Suddenly, a series of dark masses circled around the room. The masses started to surround Luz on all sides, circling faster and faster. Luz tried to push the masses away, but it had practically no effect. The mass grew closer, until it seemingly completely consumed Luz. Luz eventually stopped struggling to fight off the darkness, and the emerald let out a wave of light, sending everything in the room flying, including King. Luz emerged after the flash holding the emerald, and looking different. Her hair was spiked to the side and slightly longer, her clothing consisted of greys and blacks, she wore a long and dark cloak, and she was surrounded by a dark aura.
King got up and slowly walked towards Luz. "Luz?" King asked nervously," Are you okay?"
"Okay?" She responds before chuckling. She faces her friend, revealing her eyes, which have
red pupils, "I've never felt better!". King stumbles in shock, and crawls backwards.
"Luz, I think we need to talk to sonic," King suggested, he gets off the ground, "h-he knows what to do."
Luz chuckles, "Oh that pathetic rat, he can barely run a mere lap without collapsing, while me…" Luz chuckles, before shifting into the ground and reappearing right behind King, startling him, "I can move across mountains in mere seconds."
King chuckles nervously, "Luz you're just messing with me, right?"
"You poor, naive, little demon," Luz kneels down to get face to face with king, "I guess our paths won't align for much longer," She stands up and walks away from King.
King runs and pulls on Luz's leg, "Please Luz! It doesn't have to be this!" Tears form in his eyes.
Luz kicks King off her leg, "But I'm afraid it does. Now if you excuse me, I must do what the hedgehog won't, and find the emeralds, starting with the forest." Luz forms dark energy around where she stands, "Oh yeah, tell Sonic not get in my way…" She closes her fist, then it engulfs in a dark flame, "or else!" Luz shifts into the ground and disappears.
King looks on in shock for a few seconds before noticing noise from downstairs. He goes downstairs to be met by a tired Eda and Sonic.
"What was with all that noise upstairs?" Eda asked. "And where's Luz and the emerald?" Sonic also asked.
King runs towards Eda and hugs her, tears streaming down his face. King explained, in a scared and distraught voice. "Luz used the emerald, but there was all this dark stuff that came out. It surrounded her, and then she became evil or something. I tried to talk to her, I even grabbed onto her leg, but she kicked me off. She said she was going to get the emeralds, and threatened sonic if he were to go after her. We g-got to go f-find her! We just got to…" King breaks down into tears, Eda lifts him up, she looks terrified and even on the verge of tears herself.
"Sonic faces his head down, processing this new information. He walks up to King and says, "Hey, everything is going to be alright, now did Luz mention anything about where she was going?"
King wipes off his tears and says, "She mentioned going to the forest."
Sonic nods, "I'm going to follow her, and convince her to stop. I'll bring her home, King."
King sniffles, "You promise?"
Sonic pats him on the head, "I Promise."
Sonic grabs his satchel and heads for the door.
Eda yells, "Wait sonic!" Sonic looks back, "Good luck.".
Sonic smiled and said, "Thanks" and then he ran off.
Once Sonic left, Eda's smile quickly faded, and she slumped down on the couch, King in her arms.
Meanwhile, Sonic quickly rushes through the forest in pursuit of Luz.
"If my thinking is correct…" Sonic mutters to himself, he then finds Luz at the crash site muttering to herself.
"Now excuse me, Miss Noceda." Sonic shouted, startling Luz and making her turn to face Sonic, "Shouldn't you be getting to bed by now? Luz threw a ball of fire, which Sonic dodged.
"Whoa, someone had an edgy reboot." he said
Luz groaned in annoyance, "Cease your blabbering Hedgehog, I thought I told that demon to advise you against this."
"You know I can't back down from a challenge," Sonic said, "Now how about you return to normal, and go home? Unless you wish to do this the hard way."
Luz chuckled, "You sure can try, but I must warn you…" Luz summons a series of magic glyphs which circled around her., "I won't show mercy"
"I was counting on that." Sonic says.
Luz struck first, sending out a series of icicles, which Sonic managed to jump over. Sonic jumped into the treetops, jumping from tree to tree. Luz looked up at the tree tops, and locked on Sonic's location. She used a plant glyph to make a vine, and grabbed Sonic by the leg, and threw him down on the ground. Sonic groaned, but the Spin dashed in place, causing Luz, who was still holding vine, to get thrown into a tree.
"Heh, I guess you're not as sharp as you seem!" Sonic said. Luz grunted, before she used the emerald to disappear into the ground.
"Huh, What the…", Sonic said before noticing something from above, he looked up and saw Luz who struck him from above.
She knocked Sonic back, and threw fireballs at Sonic. He dogged all of them except for the last one which hit him in the face. Sonic tries to put out the fire on his face, leaving Luz open to strike Sonic in the back, knocking him down. Luz tried to hit Sonic with an icicle, but he grabbed onto the icicle, and kicked Luz in the stomach. Sonic jumped around in the trees, hitting Luz with Homing attacks. Luz used her teleportation abilities to jump around in the trees in the same manner as Sonic. And Luz launched at each other, pushing against each other, seemingly at a standstill. Luz notices one of Sonic's legs shaking, so she kicks it, causing Sonic to yell out in pain. Sonic grasps his leg, leaving him vulnerable. Luz teleports all over the field, overwhelming Sonic with a series of quick punches from every angle. She Finishes with a kick to Sonic's other leg.
Sonic lies immobile on the ground, groaning in pain. "I would say sorry it had to end this way, but that would be dishonest." Luz says
"Hey, leave the quips to me!" Sonic replied weakly.
"Well, I guess this is it," Luz says, she points the emerald at Sonic, "Pasta la vista"
The emerald shakes for a second, before shooting a beam of darkness at Sonic. Sonic screams as he is disintegrated, leaving no trace of him left. The emerald stops, the deed has been done. Luz looks at the spot where Sonic spent his last moments, "Well I shouldn't stand around, there's work to be done. Luz Falls backwards into the ground, disappearing, and leaving the crash site barren.
