Carmen's P.O.V.:
I was livid. I go out for one night with my friends and my brothers think that it's a good idea to jump my sister. I was so glad when Jasper left the next day, but it didn't stop me from taking Peter into the woods and throwing him around. Zack watched me do this while eating popcorn with Player. "Never and I mean never do that stunt again Peter." I spat out through gritted teeth before punching his face and dislocating his nose. Char or no one else stopped me we were all mad at them for this. Early this morning Nina said that she didn't want to stay here today so her and Carlisle were going to have some uncle and niece time. She was just in leggings and a dark blue sweater. I could tell this still was bothering her because of her eyes they were mostly blue in color. Yes, I knew Nina's secret so did Charlotte. But this was between her and whoever she wanted to tell. The funny thing was she was considering telling Jasper and Peter, but I think they just blew their chance of finding out.
It was sunny today, so I was surprised when my phone went off and saw a picture of Nina and Carlisle out and about instead of in the lab. It did help that he was wearing a long scarf and a brimmed hat, I think. Nina texted me again with the words supply run with uncle C. this got me to laugh when I felt a pair of arms around me. Most people were trying to keep themselves busy after the incident. "How would your brothers react if some of the boys and I get your sister a motorbike for her birthday?" Graham asked me while smiling and I heard Peter yell that they better not think of it before he was slapped by Char.
Mostly all the guys were busy with building another cabin, the girls were doing what ever. Seeing Dash in casual wear was odd but of course it was still collared shirts for him, but he did lose the rest of the suit and switched to jeans and boots it worked. I knew that we had to deal with V.I.L.E. eventually. We couldn't just let them wonder free. Nina could help us, but it would require us going back to V.I.L.E. without Zack, Ivy, Jane, Bree, and Player. I'm hoping Nina's gift can work from a distance or the boys will have to convince the faculty that she's a worthy recruit. We'll have to try it out later. Gray and I were just enjoying the sun shinning off the show when we heard the snaping of a fallen branch behind us. Well at least they couldn't see our faces because this wasn't a friend. I wore one of my sister's hats that day and changed our appearances to look like Riley and Nina's it wasn't that hard, since Gray and Riley could pass as brothers already.
When we turned around there was Mime bomb spying on us why am I not surprised. "Get the rope." Was all I managed to say before he started to run off with us following him. He dropped his phone while running off how convenient for us. When it goes off Gray and I can't answer it, but Sheena, Antonio, Jean-Paul, and Dash could answer it no problem. Gray isn't supposed to remember V.I.L.E. or anyone in it so him answering the phone with a big hello would raise some eyebrows.
My phone did go off again later and it was a picture from Nina again but the two of them were in the lab with Julia comparing sunscreens. How Neens got her hands on that much sunscreen in February was beyond me, but I knew what she was trying to do. She was trying to make a sunscreen for us, and she believed that her blood was the key for it. I mean it would be nice to be able to go out on days when the sun is out and not give ourselves away.
Nina did come back eventually well I asked her to come back. "I take it as it's experiment with Nina's powers time again. What did you want me for anyway?" Nina questioned before gray gave us space to talk. When player walked up to us. Apparently, this wasn't a coincidence V.I.L.E. placed paper star in the city where my siblings and Zack were just days ago and, in the museum, how fitting. Since I'm in town and easily could run there with my team. Zack and Ivy showed up quickly and I grabbed Nina by the arm as the three of us were heading out. I knew that the museum was large enough to try my little experiment. Especially when it's paper star we will be dealing with or the chance of running into a certain French agent who keeps hasn't found us yet.
I wonder why player actually visited us in person. We only saw each other over video chat until recently. I wonder why he showed up. And come to think of it I haven't heard from Shadowsan recently. I hop he's okay, he shouldn't be running around while I'm stuck playing babysitter for a bunch of newborns, but he wasn't ready to face his brother, so he thought running around and doing missions was a good idea. As we ran, I explained my idea to Nina. So, my idea was Zack, Ivy and I would go inside the museum and Nina will be outside trying to hide us from Paper Star. She was given pictures of us in case she needed them. Eventually we will have to tell her if it worked or not. Because covering multiple people in the same area is one thing but Nina isn't even going to be in the building with us and it's not a small building. We eventually will have to see just how far this can work but it's not tonight.
Once we got in the museum minus Nina who was waiting outside circling the building. The songs she was humming made me worry about her. They were angry songs. After this since Riley was well controlled, they should go away for a while. I waited in the room where the current special exhibit was, Zack was where the animals were since it was on a different floor, and Ivy was on a different floor flying red drone from the basement level just sitting on a chair in the cafeteria. I watched as Paper star came in and started taking things. I jumped down from my hiding place and she turned around. She looked right passed me.
She couldn't see me that's good. So, I knew that people believed that this place was haunted by a little girl, so I changed my appearance to a little blonde girl going on a younger Nina. I wasn't sure that Nina was able to hold this for long anyway and I was right about that because I was spotted when I was done changing my appearance. Paper star looked scared when she noticed a little girl who wasn't there before but then she went murderous. "Why does lady want to hurt me and take things?" I asked imitating a child the best I could. Voices was Nina's thing, but it worked. She ran after she tried to hit me and failed multiple times. I vanished as she looked back to try to hit me again. Ivy got red drone in here and paper star ran off to find me. After not finding anyone, I watched as she left the building empty handed and calling the faculty to tell them that the museum is actually hunted and that I was there. They were happy she did disappear, and she had to go find Mime bomb since he lost his phone. That was one way of putting it. Zack, Ivy, and I met with Nina who was sitting by the entrance now and was in what seemed to be a meditative state with our photos in her hands. Zack waved his hand in front of her but didn't get a response since she couldn't see us.
Graham and Riley showed up randomly. They broke her out of it and the three of us reappeared. "Really Carmen you couldn't wait to try that. You're lucky Alice sent Riley and I out since he needs to feed again and suggested we came here in the city." Graham said as Riley helped Nina up. Riley then took my sister to go eat something. Now I wasn't sure if it was going to be food or blood, but she was happy again, so it was an improvement.
Nina and Riley weren't back when we got there. I looked at both Alice and Peter for an answer as to why. "Using her power like that the first time made her tired. It will happen less the more she does it, but she should be guarded when she does that for your plan." Peter said calmly before playing a game with Emmett. Alice nodded and explained that Riley chose to take Nina camping for a few days not alone of course. I looked around and noticed that Garrett and Kate were gone as well.
"Who else is with them?" I asked raising an eyebrow. Alice shows me the picture Carlisle sent her. Julia was with them and two others I didn't know. The phone I took from mime bomb started ringing and I handed it to Dash. I held my bedroom door open as he walked in followed by, Graham, Jean Paul, Sheena, and Antonio before closing the door behind us. I hid out the view of the camera it was never just an audio call with these guys. I also changed their eye colors back to their human ones for the call. Graham also sat out of cameras view.
Seeing the four of them waving into the camera made me think of a plan and I held up a note saying to mention Nina. "We actually found someone who has potential to match Carmen Sandiego. She could beat the four of us in a fight and has a voice that could distract anyone long enough for her to make an escape. She stole my hat, tigress's goggles, all our phones, and El topo's digging gloves." Dash lied about most of that. They volunteered to give those things up and Edward and Maria were the ones who took the phones, but we were going to get them replacements without the V.I.L.E. attachment to them so they would have a clean slate. We just need to clean up a few loose ends.
"Oui, she has potential we decided to call her the ghostly siren because she is also light on her feet. Coach Brunt will Adore her she is American. She is also easily a get right now She just got in a fight with her family." Jean Paul said nodding. I can tell that this got Coach Brunt really happy. Since he made it sound like Nina wasn't talking to her family at all right now instead of just selectively picking who she's talking to. Since she knew we were doing this. And she agreed to be apart of this plan.
"Well, if she's as good as you claim I suppose a test is in order for this ghost Siren, wouldn't you agree faculty? And you four are not to help her." Professor Maelstrom said and the other members of the faculty nodded. Nina's two tasks were simple get the two things I stole from them recently back. She wasn't even going to have to steal them she knew where it was but out of spite, she's taking Jasper's old military jacket two.
I left the room after pointing to Graham who was moving nervously. "And we have a surprise for you. We found someone who wants to see you guys." Sheena said after taking the phone and I left the room. I waited outside my room for them to finish. Graham told the faculty members that Jessie was away for a few days and will be sure to pass on the message to her. When he was asked how he got his memory back he passed it off as an electrical shock from working in the opera house. When they finished, I texted Carlisle telling him what was going to happen, and I texted Jasper as a courtesy.
When they got off the phone Alice ran up to me. "This isn't going to be a good idea, Carmen. You want Nina to bring you as a surprise to those people, but it won't go according to plan." Alice warned me but I ignored it because we had planning to do starting with who will look after my sister if things go wrong and who will watch over my sister when she does that meditation thing with our photos. Gray was the obvious choice, but Dash had his perks we would need Nina here to get her input.
A few days later I found myself at the table as Nina ate. She started copying the book she made for Jasper as soon as she got back aging the paper and smudging her drawings as well as messing up her writing. She didn't bother binding it properly and found some worn leather from an old jacket of hers for the cover. She did Everything down to the smallest detail in a week. She has this Replica and the military jacket hidden away today she was going to break into Carlisle's office while he's out with Julia. Normally I wouldn't approve of this, but it was necessary. We agreed that if things went wrong Dash and Graham would protect my sister and during her meditation thing it would be Sheena under the lie of, she wanted some girl time with the Siren. Nina laughed. "I haven't been accepted yet and I already have my own code name that was agreed on by the thieves themselves." She smiled at the fact.
I watched as she grabbed the vile from the safe when we got to Carlisle's office, and she started wiping the computer of the formula for the liquid in the vile. Thankfully Carlisle was told about this and made a back up of the formula on a usb drive and he has it on him. When I thought she did enough I walked in. "Uncle Car is that you I thought you were on a date tonight." I questioned before pretending to notice that it wasn't Carlisle. Nina and I fought, and I lost on purpose. I was dragged out with the vile by a smiling and humming Nina with a bounce in her step.
When Nina grabbed her bag, she was met by paper star and Mime bomb. She didn't give them attention until she tied me up and had me in the back seat of her car. I did change Nina's appearance so Mime bomb wouldn't recognize her right away. Her hair was now a deep blue, so it looked black she told me once she was thinking about dying her hair like that so why not now, her eyes were a sea blue, and her tan was obvious like she just got off a beach. She also had the perfect voice to match this character she made. "Jessie and you are here to take me to school now I guess." Nina was pretending not to care by pretending to inspect her black painted nails. "Well let's go I passed the stupid tests, and I got a souvenir and a gift for the faculty. The mime drives until the pickup point. I'm sure you know what a few of the others call me so play nice go go boots." Nina said in a sing song tone before getting in the car.
Once we got to the pickup point, I was pulled out of the car by Dash back in his suit. Upon seeing me Tigress looked surprised. "Okay Crackle you and the boys were right about Ghost Siren being a match for Carmen Sandiego. Nina walked into the plane with Jasper's military jacket on and some of Riley's shirts in her bag. "Awesome grab Jessie where did you find it?" El Topo asked my sister and she told them a made-up story about robbing a museum for the book that was stolen and found the Jacket with it. Then told them how she had to break into a science lab to get the Vile. Thankfully Mime bomb and Paper star believed the first one a lot.
"I told you she would be a natural fit for school." I heard Graham say as we took off. The entire way Nina joked with them before tossing something at tigress. Paper star eventually got annoyed by being ignored and tried to attack my sister. That was before Nina gave her the cold hard truth about her being replaceable this got her to sulk long enough for Nina to take her ammo without her knowing it.
Once we landed Nina and I were led to the faculty. "I brought you a present. And here's that stuff you asked for. "Nina pulled me by the hair as she went to put the stuff on the table. Coach Brunt was impressed, and they put it up to a vote. It was unanimous, my sister was going to be enrolled into V.I.L.E. academy and she even got her code name early it was the one the boys gave her. She left the room to be brought it to a group hug bye Gray, Antonio, Jean Paul, and Sheena while dash looked on before being pulled in.
Nina's P.O.V.:
I missed Riley a lot and I had a few of his shirts, the necklace, and the snow globe he gave me. I would call love to call him but no Phones. And Carmen and I are now looking after four newborn vampires by ourselves. They must be hungry. "After I get into my room let's go eat, I want a picnic. Can we have a picnic, Antonio?" I knew that the faculty couldn't hear us as they took me to the rooms, so I didn't see anything wrong with dropping the I don't give a fuck attitude temporarily. Antonio laughed at that they all seemed to get what I meant by picnic.
"Jessie, I think you might be on to something mi amigo." Antonio told me and I went inside as Sheena told me that she would give me a few minutes. I was the first one here so I had to hide my stuff not that anyone would want boy shirts, my necklace isn't coming off I can hide it, that just leaves the snow globe and Jasper's military jacket. I hid the jacket under my mattress and tied the snow globe in the sleeve. But just in case I used my located a loose floorboard and folded a few things into it before using my power on the snow globe and jacket. I placed the floorboard back and went out to meet the others.
"What took ya so long Mate?" Gray asked me messing up my hair. We were going to destroy this place from the inside out it was going to take a whole year. And Sheena, Dash and I were going to suffer a lot. Unless we could get Jane, Bree, and Riley closer to where we are so we could see them. They would also need supervision but I knew two vampires for the job One was definitely closer than the other so I would have to live up to my new rep and steal a phone to give her a call. I'm so glad the school moved to Scotland we were able to go out at all times of the day without the need to hide. It wasn't raining yet but it was cloudy, and we were on a time crunch I had a curfew for the next year. My roommate should also be arriving soon.
While we hunted, I gave them tips for when it came time to eat, we chose that I would sit with them unless they were sent out. They were all given new phones and I was able use them to text my friend from Ireland to ask her to keep an eye on Riley, and Bree with Jane using Graham's phone. Before taking Dash's phone and sending a brief text to Peter telling him to send Bree, Riley, and Jane to Scotland. I read the replies then cleared the phones. I did hand the phones back before we made our way back to the school. Alice told me before we left that something was going to happen to Carmen so I would have to make an entirely new plan. Well, that's easy. I could get Mime bomb killed, Kill Paper star, deal with a few of the more experienced operatives then blow up the school. Yeah, that should be easy since Char and a few others at home offered to help. And the things I hid in the floorboard were just contacts and hair dye nothing special. I sighed if you told me months ago that I was going to be spending my birthday in crime school I would have laughed but some things are unavoidable, I guess. Wait I could have said no and would have been at home with Riley, but I was told how well that would have went. I must have gotten sucked into my own head because Dash shook my shoulder when we got outside the rooms.
"What's on your mind Jessie?" Dash asked me and I explained what I could to them. Graham was smiling like he had one of his crazy ideas. I went back into my room to meet my new roommate who was already looking through the bag on my bed only to find the shirts and a few things of nail polish. They didn't hear me come in or approach, so I chose to fuck with them. I walked up behind them and leaned over their shoulder. "I was going to be in the same room for a whole year without accidents. I suggest you get your hands off my few things." I rolled my eyes and grabbed their hand. They were afraid good it was written on their face.
"So, you're Jessie? You don't have much I'm Sonia." The girl said she was in her teens, and I don't think she should finish here so I would hate to kill her. But I couldn't be nice to her right a way I have an image to uphold.
"Ghostly Siren is my name only my friends and family call me Jessie and I'm not talking to my brothers right now. Since they made me break up with my boyfriend and then jumped me. So, I broke into my ex's house and took shit no big deal it was just the shit he gave me and the shirts I gave him." I explained boredly sitting on my bed. Carmen told me about Sonia so I knew that she an orphan who was just misguided I'm sure I could help her before it was too late. I pretended to sleep until I knew Sonia was asleep before using my power to meet up with the others minus Carmen.
"Nightmares already Jessie?" Graham asked me as I reappeared, and I nodded my head. I had a water bottle next to my bed and I splashed some water on my face to make it look like I was crying. Carmen eventually found us, but she was different. Then I realized I messed up before falling to the ground in tearless sobs. Her warm eyes were now cold, and her voice was colder it was like a stab to my heart. And it hurt Gray just as much.
"Why is the new girl out of bed? Haber get her back to bed now. Crackle, Tigress, Le Chevelle and El topo were going out. And I don't expect you to let ghostly Siren to break the rules again." Carmen glared at me, and Dash helped me up. I could tell the others we mad that Carmen was acting mean to me, so I did what I did best and hid the emotions I was even hiding mine. I watched as Carmen led the others away leaving me and Dash alone. This hit hard I was most likely going to spend my birthday for the first time in a long time with out Jasper, Peter, or Carmen. It's been years since this happened, I've always had at least one of them this year I'll have none.
"We won't let you spend your birthday alone Jessie what kind of friends would we be if we did?" Dash said offering to braid my hair out of my face. I accepted the offer and relaxed a bit as he did my hair. I went back to my room and sat on my bed and at a reasonable time went into the shower before making my bed and putting on my uniform. I straightened my hair which got it to wave instead of curl. Dash was waiting for me when I got out of my room. I didn't notice that I started singing again but others did, and the results were funny a few people walked into walls others just stood there like statues.
Breakfast was done quickly then I was in class with countess Cleo. I was bored in class all day. Lunch again was with Dash the others have yet to return. Some of the kids in class tried to sit with me but I wouldn't be cooperative. My night was spent getting to know Sonia more. The next week repeated like that until there was a knock on my door after dinner and I thought it was Dash telling me he wanted to do something together, so I opened it to find Sheena at the door. "Guess whose back Jessie. Did you miss us." She asked and I threw my arms around her as she led me outside into the woods to meet everyone else. Well almost everyone Carmen was still acting off and it was bothering all of us. This was going to be a long year.
