Nina's P.O.V.:
It was now Valentine's Day and Riley was in Scotland with Jane and Bree. Class was done for the day, so I was now in my room with Dash and Sheena getting ready to go out to meet them. Antonio and Jean Paul were out together, and poor Gray was back a square one with Carmen. Sonia thought I was going out with Dash for now that might help me. We started making Mime bomb lose all credibility. It was fun to say the least He kept ratting me out for being out of bed but by the time I was checked on I was back in bed tossing and turning. This has been going on for a week now and I kept stealing Paper star's paper whenever I passed her which I used for notes to the boys and Sheena. Paper star didn't notice that she was out of ammo until she went to attack me, so she resorted to hand-to-hand combat she wasn't a challenge for me.
When the three of us were ready we headed out. I was dressed in black and dark blue from head to toe the only color was on my lips which were red. I wore heeled boots and fingerless gloves, Sheena was in a dark green jacket and jeans, and we forced Dash into something more casual. When we got to the spot to meet Riley, Bree, and Jane Dash was practically knocked over by the smaller girl. Jane pulled Sheena into a hug before kissing her. The only reason they got me out was because they told the faculty that they were taking me for some extra hands-on training. They convinced the faculty that I could benefit from once a week in the field training under the supervision of Crackle, Le Chevelle, El topo, and themselves. Riley spun me around before kissing me. "Don't worry your brothers don't know I'm here. But anyways Happy Valentine's Day Jessie." He said reaching into his pocket and handing me a bracelet with a theme similar to my necklace.
I actually did some hands-on stuff and we got back at a reasonable time. When we got back Dash went to report on how I did he thought I did well even if all I did was break into a music store for a cd player, a few CDs, and a set of headphones. I had the stuff in my bag and when I got back, I set everything up next to my bed. I pretended to be asleep with the headphones on and a classical cd in the player. And I wasn't really breaking the rules since it wasn't a phone, and I couldn't use it to communicate with the outside world. This also didn't put my snow globe in danger. The week flew by I was looking at the ceiling listing to music when Sonia opened the door for the boys and Sheena.
"Happy Birthday Jessie." They all said at once when I was about to pull out my snow globe. Sonia looked surprised to hear that it was my birthday. Dash helped me with my hair since Carmen stopped covering us with her power, I actually had to dye my hair and wear contacts the boys also had to wear contacts. Sonia asked to add so highlights to her hair while we were at it, and I didn't se why not. She was cool and she wasn't going to pass but she might be a useful alley. I started singing on my way to class. In class I act like I don't care. In coach Brunt's class I acted like I was too good to be there. She called it the Texan spirit and I rolled my eyes.
After class Sonia helped me get ready to go out with the boys and Sheena. Only to find just Dash again. "Carmen took the others for something they send their apologies Jessie and hope you don't blast their ear drums when they get back. I was thinking we could hit the bottom of the lake tonight what do you think." Dash explained and when I raised an eyebrow at the last part he nodded to the door where I noticed Mime bomb was watching us. So, I made a less than enthusiastic response as he led me out of the room. I sighed at least I will see Riley.
When I saw my Riley, I ran right to him. "Happy birthday Jessie. Are you excited? You don't seem excited." Riley pointed out as Bree came over with a cupcake. I smiled at the thought and Dash pulled Riley to the side to explain what happened. When they finished talking, they blindfolded me before Riley picked me up and began running. Why wasn't Jane here? When the blindfold was removed, we were outside of a karaoke bar, Dash told Riley to wait a minute out here with me before going in with Bree. Riley was smiling at me when I realized he hasn't given me his gift yet. Just wished me happy birthday.
When he led me inside all the lights were out, but I could tell that more than just Dash and Bree were in here. I believed I could smell Sonia but that would be ridiculous. The only way she could be here was if one of the boys or Sheena snuck her out but that was impossible since they were out with Carmen. But I could smell Gray as well did they lie to me to pull this off. When the lights were turned on, I was led to a table full of gifts before being turned around to face everyone. "SURPISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSIE!" they all yelled at me at a reasonable range. I smiled and pulled them all into a group hug before hitting Graham in the arm I had no doubt that he was the one behind this. Hearing so many people use my middle name was new still for me, but I enjoy it. Carmen wasn't there but surprisingly I didn't mind as much as I thought I was going to.
Sonia felt odd about not having a gift for me but still being here with my friends and I. "Sonia we are friends and that's a wonderful gift. I have a lot to explain eventually but we don't really have time right now. But I can help you live a better life than this we can help you live a better life than this. My brothers have money to burn and I'm sure you would be accepted with us. If you leave with us but it will still be dangerous, or I can call in a few favors someone owns me, and you can go on your way. My uncle has a habit of adopting teens he's a doctor so you would be well off." I said as I sat at a table with some food and Sonia. Jane was singing Paramore while the others drank.
When I opened my gifts, I found more CDs from Julia and Carlisle, Riley finished the jewelry set he started at Christmas with a pair of earrings, Alice got me a mp3 player, Dash got me a sketch book which went with Bree's gift of drawing supplies, Emmett and Rose got me another snow globe it was a phantom of the opera one and it played my favourite song which was music of the night, the gifts for the most part were simple until I got to Jasper, Bella, Carlie, and Victoria's what were they thinking they got me two glass flowers a orchid and a blue bell why. These would definitely get stolen were they crazy. This had Jasper written all over it. Peter got me fabric paint for crying out loud that is normal. I must have been over thinking it. But they were beautiful.
When we got back Sonia fell asleep and I relaxed in bed with the reading light Char got me and a book from Jane while listening to one of my new CDs. I could tell that there was someone at the door, so I quickly turned my light off. I was glad I hid everything I just got as soon as we got back so I hid my book under my pillow and the cd player under my bed as the door was opening. I curled up as someone entered the room. It was Carmen and I attacked her. "Get out of my room it's not time for class." I hissed at her before punching her arm as she blocked the face. I then pressure pointed her hard. I started sing to keep Sonia asleep she didn't need to see this. I didn't know that Gray and Dash snuck back out to meet Riley, but Carmen kept asking me where they went. They just dropped me off and left. Carmen saw my new snow globe and took it as she left. When I was sure that she was gone I went back to what I was doing.
The following Morning it was just me and Sonia at Breakfast. I kept humming as paper star made her way over to try to ruin my day. She threw a paper throwing star at me and I caught it between my fingers with my eyes right at her. My face was the mask I wore in Class, Sonia saw the mask break at my birthday party and sometimes in our room, but she's used to the mask by now. I threw the star back at paper star and I managed to cut her cheek good. This made me smile like the Cheshire cat. "I did warn you go-go boots not to get on my bad side. You're lucky it's only a cut check. I've done worse to my brothers." I lied about that last bit, but paper star believed it before walking off. Sonia didn't believe it, but she wasn't sure if I was a cold person or friendly. I heard paper star say that I was a teacher's pet, but I just laughed it off I was their nightmare wrapped up in a daydream I was just waiting for the right time to strike.
I got my hands on a map of the school and found Carmen's room. I was going to get my stolen snow globe back the only problem is she got back. The boys, Sheena and I were out together hunting again and trying to figure out how to deal with Carmen. We were hoping that she would snap out of it herself, but we might have to call Zack and Ivy to help us. I ran a hand through my hair and sighed. I was getting impatient with this, so I snuck into her room and placed a photo Esme took when Jasper and Bella visited of my siblings, myself, and our significant others. I packed this photo to remember why I was doing this, but she needed it more than I did right now.
Things got complicated in April. Carmen tried to attack me when I was meditating while I was covering Graham. I asked him to look for the power lines and I thought it would be easier if he couldn't be seen I was right about that, but Sheena and Dash were out with Bree and Jane that day. I think Jean Paul and Antonio were sent out, so I was left unguarded. When I lost focus, I was tired, but I was not going to get my butt handed to me. So, I started singing and fighting I was throwing my voice to distract her, and it worked. I eventually was too tired, so I sung a note high enough to hurt her ears. Once she left, I fell asleep still dressed and didn't even bother with the headphones. I woke up with a silent scream early in the morning from a nightmare. I went into the shower to clear my head I started singing as I finished. I got dressed in the bathroom and wrapped my hair in a towel before pulling out Jasper's jacket and going to get the snow globe from the sleeve only to find the snow globe gone someone was in here while I was passed out and thought a snow globe was a better find than an old army jacket. I started to panic when Graham came knocking on my door. I shut myself down and went to talk to him.
"What happened mate? I know that look. Let's go eat before you got to go to class." Gray smiled dragging me outside. We talked about what he found while I was covering him last night and what happened to me which got him to laugh. When we got to our table, and I ate everyone's food. Carmen then walked over still holding her ear I rolled my eyes before heading to class with Sonia who was at another table. I was left alone after class with Sonia, so we sat in our room, and I planed my Halloween costume. I was thinking of doing something creepy since I couldn't do what I originally wanted to do which was match Riley, the boys asked me to help with their makeup already apparently, they were going with a group costume, Sheena also wanted my help with a costume and makeup I was told to make it scary. Glad I have time to work. Six months to be exact. I drew makeup and costumes for Sheena and myself since I couldn't draw ideas for the boys until I knew what they were going to be. When I got bored of that I worked on my plan. Paper star was getting on my nerves maybe I could killer sooner rather than later and blame mime bomb. We got rid of two operatives already not enough to cause concern yet.
My friend from Ireland thought that Riley could use a guy friend while the boys and I couldn't be around that much. So, she asked me if she could call a friend of hers from Egypt. His name was Benjamin, but he preferred Ben, so I told Maggie to go ahead and give him a call. Sorry I just realized that I haven't used Maggie's name until now I just kept calling her my friend from Ireland, so I had to give her a name. Anyway, back to the story.
May came and went with very few problems. My hair grew out a bit more, but I didn't care since it started blocking my face. Dash didn't like this, but I didn't mind at all. "Jessie cut your bangs. How can you see through them?" Sheena questioned me and I laughed. I was going to have to be tied down before I cut my hair again right now. My bangs were twisted then tied behind my ear on one side while the other side had the bangs in my face. On our last outing I stole another glass flowers to go with the ones I got for my birthday I took a sunflower, a Lily, a forget me not, and a Daisy. I have been secretly leaving money in everyplace I took things from since the beginning of this, but the faculty didn't need to know that. I now had a bouquet of glass flowers hidden in my room anyway I bet you're rendering how Jasper is since he tried to jump me, but to be honest I wouldn't know since I haven't talked to him and Peter in months. But yes, I forgave them by now since I was only mad at them for a few days that camping trip Riley took me on before I came here helped a lot.
It was girls night in my room. Sonia and Sheena had their hair out of their faces when I walked in the room before one of them tossed a hairband at me. I placed the hairband in my hair before they tossed another thing at me. I caught it and looked at it before paper star decided to ruin my day. Sonia and Sheena waited for me to punch her with smirks on their faces. At least the thing in my hand was only a robe so I couldn't kill her with it. I never said a word I just started humming with a crazy look in my eyes. Paper star however didn't get the don't come in memo and was looking for a fight. She attacked me with one of her paper throwing stars. I caught it before she tried again. Rolling my eyes, I caught it again. This unfortunately continued until she was out of paper, and I had a stack of paper origami throwing stars in my right hand. "I would have run now go-go boots, or you'll be getting lots of paper cuts." I sighed as I moved to my bed which made her think trying to punch me was a good idea. This got her a one-way trip to being pressed against the hallway wall with her arm in an easy to break position. I could kill her now but that would set Sheena off and put Sonia in trouble, so I just walked back into my room and closed the door quickly.
Sheena had my music player plugged into my cd player using it as a speaker. "Jessie, I thought about what you said a few months ago and I want out of here. I would like to meet this uncle of yours." Sonia said to me as I was doing her nails. I smiled at her and told her that I needed to do something about the scarlet lady first. I must have looked upset since Sheena started trying to comfort me. Char has been texting Sheena or Dash when they took out an operative and with Player it was easy to find where they were going to strike next before sending some of our human eaters to deal with them. Anyways the boys convinced most of the faculty that I should be able to go bigger so I leave for Athens in the morning.
Jasper's P.O.V.:
Peter said that I should tell you what happened in the past few months since I left everyone. So back to February, I guess. When we got back to Forks, I was dropped off at the family house that Peter and Char bought when they moved here. Once Charlie and Victoria knew that I was inside they drove home.
The following week was hard since I couldn't see Bella and it was Valentine's Day, I had this whole thing planned with music and roses cliché I know but hey Nina wasn't here to help me and Carmen as just as clueless as I was when it came to romance. So, I settled with a note, a bluebell and rose Boquete, and some chocolates. I placed these in her English class since I had English on class before her and in the same class as her. So, I placed he gifts on her desk on my way out to my next class. Nina was in crime school it was a scary thought for me. Carmen going back to that place after messin' with everyone for so long was a risk. I sent the gift for Nina from Victoria, Charlie, Bella, and myself to Jane since I knew she was near them. Anyway, I watched as Nina took money out of her bank account a lot of money. What was she up to? She never spent more than a few hundred dollars and that was only in certain stores.
That day at lunch I got a text from Graham saying that Carmen has been acting off since they got to the school. I didn't think much about it as I saw Bella walk into the cafeteria holdin' my gift to her with a smile on her face. Her floral sent made it hard to think the sent of Jasmine, Lemon, Violet, and Lilies grew closer to me. She was coming this way what would I say we haven't said anything to each other all week. She sat at my table with a smile. "Happy valentine's day Jasper. How would you feel about a movie night at my place? Since Charlie and Victoria will be out tonight." Bella offered while taking my hand. The day sped by after that. Unfortunately, the wolf boy was there when class was out trying to get Bella's attention. Lucky for me Bella didn't give it to him and just went to her truck.
I did some homework and got Bella something to eat before heading over. When I got there, she was waitin' for me on the porch. By the smell of it the wolf boy was over not to long ago and this unsettled her. I got out of my car and sat next to her. I just held her close as she looked in the woods. We did end up watching some movies and she ended up fallin' asleep on me.
March came and went with more appearances by Jacob while Victoria and I were out huntin' apparently, he tried to grab Bella from school one day while I was gone, and Sam stepped in. Charlie was furious with this since Billy refused to do anythin' about it. Jacob also had a few names to call me and Victoria that didn't help sway Charlie into agreement. I picked up guitar when I wasn't at school or with Bella. I got good at it and wanted to learn a song for Bella, but I wasn't sure what song yet. Charlie started training his replacement, I met the guy once he's okay I guess reminds me of a friend of Nina's from when we were kids too bad, he moved they would have looked nice together but anyways she has Riley now. The four of us were hoping to leave shortly after Bella graduates.
In April I went to see my family over the long weekend and left a few days before since it was sunny. Nina wasn't back from her trip, but Carlisle was there with his girlfriend. Yazz was still closed off for the most part, but I could tell that she was trying to get over whatever was holdin' her back. Nina's room was left untouched and there was an entirely new cabin that looked slightly bigger than the others. "You'll thank me later." Alice explained while giving me a hug. Peter ran into Nina's room as Jessica and Kate went to get the mail from town why I don't know.
"Nina bear has been using flowers to communicate with us since sending floral arrangements isn't weird." Rosalie clarified as Kate came back holdin' a floral arrangement with Jessica on her tail with some food for Zack and Yazz. I thought I could smell Carmen close by but wasn't she with Nina? Peter handed the book to Angela. I looked at the plants my sister chose and watched as Angela wrote the meanings on a piece of paper. My sister chose a Begonia, dead leaves, a Forsythia, a purple Hyacinth, a Monkshood, an Oleander, and a Snapdragon. Jessica ran over to Angela when she looked paler than usual. Angela handed the paper over to Tanya and went to Sit down with Jessica.
"Begonia represents Beware, dead leaves mean sadness, Forsythia symbolize anticipation, purple Hyacinth signifies I am sorry, a Monkshood imply a deadly foe is near, an Oleander express caution, and a Snapdragon indicate deception. So, I think she means to say she is sorry, and it saddens her to tell us this. But beware and take caution, a deceitful and deadly foe is nearby. We must anticipate it." Tanya read out loud and Peter rubbed his neck.
"Well Zack and Ivy will be going on a trip in a few months, and Graham has said that Carmen has been off lately. Maybe Nina is warning us about her?" Peter suggested and I smacked him I couldn't believe that he would say such a thing. Char reminded me that I was close to letting my anger get the best of me again and I apologized to Peter. I sat on the couch and started watchin' whatever a Garrett and Emmett were playin'. Eric was tryin' to teach Mike how to play chess, but the athletic boy just couldn't get it. Most of the girls were doing each others hair and nails even Carlisle's girlfriend was havin' fun. But Nina's message was weighin' heavily on my mind. So heavily in fact that I was still thinkin' about it on the way back to Forks.
May came with more problems from Jacob and Billy Black. They started to really get on Bella and Charlie about wantin' to leave town with us when Bella and I graduate. I helped Bella study after school but each day Jacob or one of his goons would show up to try to change Bella and Charlie's minds. I've made friends with three wolves in the past few months I befriended Sam and the two Clearwater kids. I had them over to my place on the weekends and they hung out with Bella, or I would hang out with them after I was done helpin' Bella with her homework. Sam looked miserable a few times after seein' pictures of my siblings and me or sometimes if he spent too much time with Leah and Seth. I decided that I wanted to know what was bothering him so while Leah and Seth were playin' a game in the livin' room, I took Sam outside for some air.
"What's wrong? You look sad when lookin' at family photos or spendin' too much time with Leah and Seth." I asked him and he turned to me before sighing.
"Jacob… I had a sister and he kidnapped her… she was named Sophie. And it happened only after thanksgiving last year. We know what he's planning... He wants to kidnap Bella and Charlie. But he hasn't read the treaty since they are mated to vampires kidnapping them will void it." Sam explained grimly to me well time to call Elazar it would seem. Since both Victoria and I would have to hunt at least once before graduation, and we wouldn't want to leave Bella and Charlie unguarded even with Leah, Sam, and Seth we would be outnumbered if it came to a fight.
"When we leave why don't you three come with us, your sister two we have room at our place." I suggested to Sam before I heard Seth shouting with excitement. But those died down quickly when my phone rang, and it was Charlie's number on the screen.
