Hey everyone!

We are officially back for chapter 5.

I don't know what to say so enjoy lol

(Disclaimer: I don't own these characters)

PERCY POV:

It was hard to be upset with Annabeth.

Especially since I didn't even have a good reason to be upset with her. Talking to Luke wasn't really against our rules.

But I couldn't understand how she didn't see that he was blatantly flirting with her. We were supposed to be in a relationship.

Fake relationship.

Still though, it seemed out of the question that we wouldn't flirt with anyone. The whole point was to not date. I still had my trust issues because of Rachel, and she still had to focus solely on her studies.

But something about her seemed to draw me in. She was intoxicating.

Sometimes people in life are just beautiful. I'd only met one before Annabeth, and that was my mother. Both their smiles lit up the whole world.

I was starting to care for Annabeth.

It was an issue. It was obvious she didn't feel the same way, so I needed to get over it- and fast. We were already going on double dates with our friends, like the brunch with Piper and Jason this morning.

It had gone well. Piper was really nice, and seemed to genuinely be good for Jason. I was happy for them.

I had slipped up beforehand. I had called her gorgeous. But she was smiling and laughing and staring up at me with so much in her stormy eyes, I couldn't do anything in that moment but tell her the truth.

And the truth was that she was gorgeous.

Not that I would ever make that mistake again.

"Perce!"

I turned to see Thalia jogging towards me.

"Yeah?"

"I just wanted to check on how things were going with Annabeth," she smirked.

Did Thalia know about our deal? I wasn't sure. I had forgotten to ask Annabeth about who she had told. I stood there awkwardly for a moment, searching for an answer that wouldn't give anything away.

"Don't worry, Kelp Head. I know about your weird ass deal."

I sighed in relief. "Oh. Yeah. Things are going good, I guess. Almost nobody hitting on us anymore. Well except for this guy Luke. He was totally coming on to her at the party the other night."

Thalia raised an eyebrow. "Is someone jealous?"

I scoffed to cover up my blush. "What? No. I don't know what you're talking about."

"Mhm," Thalia replied. "Sure."

I rolled my eyes. "Why are you here again?"

"Just wanted to make sure you weren't catching feelings. Annabeth told me you were all pissy after the party."

"With Annabeth? Of course not," I lied. "We're just friends."

Thalia stared at me, obviously not believing a word I said. I didn't believe me either. "Anyway," I said, desperate to change the subject. "I'm taking Greek history for my social study credit. But I'm totally failing. Know anyone who could tutor me?"

"I'm taking that class too," I heard from behind me. Annabeth walked up to us with a bright smile on her face. "I could help you out if you wanted."

I wasn't sure spending time with the girl I liked would help me dispel any feelings I had for her, but I really needed to do well in this course.

"That would be awesome," I told her, discreetly flipping off Thalia when she winked at me.

"Cool. We can study in my room this afternoon."

"Sounds good."

"Cool. See you." She walked away.

"Annabeth and Percy, sitting in a tree," Thalia began. "K-I-S-S-I-N-G."

I walked away.

Time skip to that afternoon at Annabeth and Thalia's dorm

ANNABETH POV

I heard a knock at the door, and quickly fixed my unruly curls, tying them up into a ponytail. I had found myself becoming more and more excited about seeing Percy lately.

I could hear my heart pounding in my chest as I opened the door. When I pulled it open to find Percy with his hands leaning on the door frame, his shirt pulled up a little, I almost fainted.

I tried hard to hide my blush and failed.

"Come in," I smiled. He grinned and walked in, looking around.

"Of course you're a neat freak."

I slapped his arm. "There's nothing wrong with being tidy."

"Whatever, Wise Girl. I see Thalia is the same as ever." He wrinkled her nose at her messy side of the room.

"Yeah. Sometimes I clean for her when it gets really bad. I keep it just messy enough so she doesn't notice."

He leaned close to me, observing me with a playful spark in his eyes. I held my breath.

"Only you, Annabeth Chase. Only you."

I blushed furiously. "Let's get started. What are you having trouble with?"

"I just don't get a lot of things. For one, why is Zeus king of the gods when Poseidon is so much cooler? It makes zero sense."

I rolled my eyes. "Well if we're talking about who should be in charge, it should be Athena."

"Please. Then everyone would need to act like a nerd. Like you."

"You're calling me a nerd while I'm trying to help you learn?"

"True. Okay then, help me learn."

"Okay. I guess we'll start with Kronos. How did his children die?"

"Uhh, I don't know, did they get shot or something?"

"Percy- no. He ate them."

He stared at me in shock. "He ate them?"

I nodded. "Yeah. It was a dick move."

He nodded in agreement. Surprisingly, he didn't say anything sarcastic or stupid, he just stared at me. I stared back, into those deep sea green eyes.

They were full of an emotion I couldn't place, and all I could do was sit there in his gaze.

He started to lean toward me, and surprising myself, I leaned toward him as well.

My eyes closed of their own will. I could feel his cinnamon breath two inches away- one inch-

"Whoa," Thalia said, the noise breaking us apart immediately. "Didn't realize I was interrupting anything."

This time, it was impossible to hide my blush.

When I turned to look at Percy though, he was blushing too.

Butterflies.

And that was chapter 5.

Percabeth is evolving.

Honestly when I re-read fanfictions I wrote a while ago I cringe because my writing has gotten better since then, but I actually really like this story.

Also, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN WE HAVE GOTTEN OUR FIRST REVIEW!
