Verse 2
I've been your leader
from my youth
until this day,"
Samuel said to all Israel
"Here I stand
testify against me
in the presence
of the lord and his anointed
whom have I cheated?
Whom have I oppressed?
From whose hand
have I accepted a bribe?
If I have done
any of these,
I will make it right."
"You've done no such thing."
They replied.
"The lord is witness
that you have not found
anything."
"He is witness."
"Now here is the king
you have chosen,
if you fear the lord
serve and obey him
do not rebel against
his command
and if the people
and the king
follow the Lord
your God, good,
but if you don't
his hand will be
against you."
The trumpet bellow
throughout the land saying
Saul's attacked
the philistines
and now Israel's
a wretch
of the philistines,
joining the army
Israel makes camp,
on the opposite side
the enemies stronghold
looms like a coming earthquake
cold sweat
stuck to the men
on that 1st day
saying
"Wheres Samuel?"
"Hes coming"
Saul said
"When!
We need those offerings now!"
"Calm down..."
"If we're not
on God's side,
we're all gonna die"
on the 2nd day
hard press,
"Keep it together,"
Saul ease
"Hes coming"
"He better"
on the 3rd
"I think their
numbers increasing"
on the 4th
"Didn't ya hear
Samuel's not coming,
we're doom!"
on the 5th
a few went AWOL
on the 6th
half the men fled
on the 7th day
They scatter
among the rocks,
pits, cisterns, thickets
and caves
"He ain't coming!"
Saul said.
"Quick bring me
the offerings!"
just as he finish
Samuel arrive
Saul went to greet
him.
"What have you done?"
Samuel said.
"You didn't come.
Have I not
sought the lords
favor."
"Fool! You have not
kept the lords
command
he woulda
establish your
kingdom over Israel
forever. But now
the lord has sought
a man after
his own heart.
You're kingdom
will not endure."
