Hey, everyone.
The final moments of this fanfiction. It feels good.
I'm honestly terrible at completing things, so this feels extra satisfying.
I wanted to say one last thank you to all of you.
Thank you so much for reading, for caring and for sticking by me.
You mean more than I can put into words.
I love you all.
And onto the epilogue...
(Disclaimer: I don't own these characters)
BTW I'm so sorry for the mishap and posting the wrong chapter!
ANNABETH POV:
THREE YEARS LATER
"What are you doing?" I laughed as Percy tried to drag me out the door, a mischievous grin on his lips.
"Come on," he said smiling, tugging my coat onto my shoulders. "Let's take a walk."
"I don't know what you're planning, Seaweed Brain," I warned, "But it better be good."
"Because the history channel is so much more important than me."
"I was looking forward to this one!"
"You look forward to all of them." I rolled my eyes, mostly because it was true. "Come on!"
He took his beanie and placed it on my head sweetly and kissed my forehead, making butterflies erupt in my stomach.
He removed his lips from my forehead and grinned, and I couldn't help but smile back.
I was so freaking in love with him.
"Okay, okay!" I took his hand and let him drag me out the door of our apartment.
We had moved in with each other during college, and now I couldn't fathom how I survived without him around.
His ocean scent filled up the rooms, and was super cute how he tried his best to stay organized for me.
Even though he did a bad job.
Percy was the only one in my life that could get away with disorganization.
His puppy eyes were something I could never say no to.
He squeezed my palm and led me outside, where the sun was setting.
The sky was pink and yellow, and the New York street lamps were all the more beautiful.
I closed my eyes for a moment and breathed in the fall air.
It was my favorite time of the year, when the air was crisp and cool.
Percy pulled me into his side and we walked, practically snuggled together through the streets.
"Are you going to tell me where we're going?"
He just grinned. "Where's the fun in that?"
He brought our hands to his mouth and kissed the back of mine. I internally cursed him for being so cute.
I didn't know what it was, but every time I was around him I felt something.
Something special.
It wasn't exactly a shock, but a feeling. I'd felt it since the day I'd met him.
I didn't know what I was feeling, but I'd always loved it.
I leaned into Percy as we walked through the streets and the sky got less yellowy and more pink-ish grey.
Percy turned to me. "Okay, I have a surprise for you."
"This better not be a prank."
"It's not," he laughed. "Just trust me."
I sighed and nodded, and Percy walked behind me and covered my eyes with his hands.
He began to walk me forward, but he was terrible at giving directions and I couldn't see a thing.
After many almost falls and lots of stepping on his toes, he stopped.
"Are we there?" I asked, and felt him place his chin on my right shoulder.
"We're there," he breathed. I leaned into his head and smiled. "Okay, open your eyes."
He slowly removed his hands and I looked around. We were back at our old college campus.
I did a slow spin around, taking in the memories and accepting the nostalgia.
One memory in particular came to mind. When I had first met Percy.
I looked around. It was right at the spot where we were standing.
"Where we first met," I murmured happily, hugging him. "You're so sappy, Seaweed Brain."
He chuckled. "Only for you."
"And your mom."
"Oh, true."
"And every animal you work with."
"I take it back. But I'm the most sappy for you."
"Now that, I can believe," I replied, kissing him slowly.
His hair was sort of purple in this light, and mine was strawberry blonde.
I turned around again to look at the campus. I wouldn't have done anything differently, I realized.
Even the mistakes I made, I would make them all again because they led me to Percy.
When I turned to tell him that, I found Percy on one knee holding a silver ring with a small diamond on it.
I took a step back, feeling tears pool in my eyes. "Percy," I breathed.
"I know we're really different people," he said, smiling wide. "And I know that we've had our ups and downs, but I love you, Annabeth. You're the best part of my life. You're why I get up in the morning. You're why I'm so happy.
"I love you more than I thought anyone could love another person. And I can't think of a world where I could ever stop loving you, so I figure, why not be together for the rest of our lives?"
He took a deep breath.
"Oh, gods I'm so nervous."
He laughed nervously. "Okay. Annabeth Chase, will you marry- oof!"
He laughed as I threw myself into his arms. I squeezed the air out of him.
I could feel his smile as he held me tight.
"Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!"
He laughed and pulled back, and I could see happy tears in his eyes. "I love you."
"I love you more," I replied as he rolled his eyes, and I kissed him.
And it was pretty much the best overwater kiss of all time.
Ok I know that last line was kinda cheesy but I don't care.
That concludes Green and Gray.
Thank you so much.
