The angel of Death

hes dead, hes dead
all Israel wept
the mourners gather
at the procession,
they buried him
War reared
its ugly head again,
the sight of the enemy
filled Saul's heart in terror

but he did not answer
Saul call on his attendants.
"Find me a medium.
So I may inquire of her."
"Theirs one in Endor."
That night
Saul disguise himself
he and 2 of his men
they went to the woman.
"Consult a spirit
for me." The king said.
"Whom shall I bring up
for you?"
"Bring up Samuel."
She shriek
" You've deceived me,

" Don't be afraid.
You'll not be punish
for this.
Now what do you see."
Samuel appears.
"I see a spirit
coming up out
of the ground."
Samuel spoke to Saul.
"Why have you disturb me?"
"I am in great distress.
The philistines
are fighting against me
and God has turned away
from me
so I have
called on you,
tell me what to do."
"Why consult me?
Now the Lord
is your enemy.
He will tear
the kingdom
out of your hands
and give it
to David.
Tomorrow you
and your sons
will be with me."
Saul fell
on the ground
in terror.
Samuel return
to the earth.
A spear pierce
the skull,
a sword
slash an arm,
arrows flung about,
the philistines
pressed hard.
"My son."
Saul sob. "My son."
In his lap,
He stoke Jonathon's
beheaded head.
The enemy
overtook him
wounding him
critically.
"I must be run through.
I'll not be defiled
by these uncircumcised!"
A young man arrived in Davids
stronghold. His clothes torn
with dust on his head
he grovelled at Davids feet.
"Why have you come here?"
David said. "I've escape
the fallen battlefield."
"What happen...
Tell me."
"Many died
and whats left
of the men fled.
The king is dead."
"How do you know
this?"
"I saw him." the young man said.
"He was leaning
on his spear
with riders
almost upon him
he turn round and saw me
calling out
'what can I do' I said
I'm in the throes of death
and yet still live
draw your sword and kill me.
So I ran him through
for he had fallen
and could not survive.
I took the crown
on his head
and brought it here
my lord."
David wept.
"Why were you
not afraid
to kill the Lords
anointed?"
he called his men
"Strike him down."
the execution commence
"Your blood
be on you're own head!"
