UNDERSTANDING SUPERMAN
AN: So, I just started watching, young justice. My first introduction to the young justice was fanfiction. I was just searching for some dragon ball z and justice league fanfic, when I tumbled into it. Now, the one thing which I didn't like about it was the relationship between Superboy and Superman. Lots, of fanfiction author would make Superman a jackass and even if some that didn't make him a Jackass, they would make Superman's reason of not looking after Superboy a bit shallow. So, I decided to make my own head cannon of why Superman might neglect Superboy. This fanfiction contains that idea.
Warnings: Might contain some spoilers for Supersons and contains aged up Damian Wayne and Jon Kent. Also, Superboy have New 52 origins.
"So, Bruce what do you want to talk about?", Clark Kent asked Mr. Wayne. They were in a nice restaurant. Nothing, too fancy as one might expect when thinking about lunch with a multimillionaire.
Bruce sighed, knowing how difficult, this was going to be. But his friend was hurting and this was the best chance he have of healing in years. He didn't want this to become another regret for his dear friend, something which he would look back to and think I should have done something else. "Clark, I know how much it hurt you to lose them, and I respected your wishes, give you your space and let you grieve them at your own pace, but I think maybe it is time for you to move on."
Clark narrowed his eyes at Bruce. "Are you trying to set me up on another date with Wonder Woman, Wayne." He could not forget how awful things were last time Bruce tried to play matchmaker. It ended up being a disaster. He ended up feeling lot of guilt for cheating on Lois and things were very awkward with Wonder Woman, during the league meetings and battles.
Bruce gulped a little, unnoticeable for even trained personnel to see, but if you have supervision then there is very little you cannot see. "No, I would like to continue my playboy days for little longer." He was not the best person for the job. But as Clark's friend he will try his best. He said, "It's about Superboy."
The results were immediate, Kent's face went from glaring to desperate and hopeful. "Did you find him and what about her?"
Bruce almost felt sad for bringing this up, but they needed to talk about it. "I am talking about Cadmus clone, Superboy."
"Bruce, there is only one Superboy and I am not going to replace him." Superman said while glaring at him harshly. He was really pissed that Bruce is going to bring it up again. "Listen to me well, they are still alive. And I have not lost hope that they will return again someday. So, stop telling me to move on."
"Listen to me Clark, that is the only name he knows. Besides, he needs a father just like you need a family to heal. I am not asking you to forget or replace them. They are also part of what makes you who you are. I am just asking to you to open your hearts to others again. Least you end up becoming like me. A man who is still so haunted by his childhood memories that he pushes everyone away."
With those words, his anger melted away. He knew what Bruce was saying was true. And he was only looking out for him. But it was just so hard, to happily move on when his wife and son might be getting tortured somewhere. "Look Bruce, I get what you are saying, but its just so…. hard. Not only that you must know this, he isn't my clone. He is Jon's. Most of the time I want to hug him, while other I want to strangle him for reminding me of what could have been."
"Look Clark, I know that you want more time, but don't be too late. He will not wait for you forever." Bruce finished. He knew it wouldn't be so easy that one conversation, could solve it, but he hoped that it will push him into right direction.
There order was served soon after rest of the lunch was spend chatting about league business, romance, etc. just a normal conversion between colleagues and friends.
AN: So, that's it for today, I have completed the second chapter. But wont post it until I complete chapter 3. I will post it until next week. Also bookmark or follow this story to find out what happened to Lois and Jon. Please, review but don't give any spoilers to the how. I have only watched up to S01 E09.
