CHAPTER 4

"Hey guys do you think he left because of us" Megan asked the team as they were on their way to a mission.

It has been weeks since, since Superman was last seen. Weeks since Batman gave the team, canary and even poor arrow a tongue lashing.

It started with the plan A, asking their mentors to talk with Superman about Conner. That's the new name Superboy got courtesy of Batman. Plan A failed spectacularly. Batman already talked with Superman and didn't want to push him further. Flash refused saying it was Superman's personal matter. Kaldur got a similar response from Aquaman. When Megan talked to her uncle, she could feel his sadness like the topic brought some unpleasant memories. He said, he would speak to Kal El but didn't think it would be useful.

Luckily, they got a good response from Arrow and Black Canary. Both of whom were happy to help, make an idiot see light. But sad thing was they couldn't get a hold of him. Superman was away doing international missions. So, to get his attention the team did a really stupid thing. Plan B publicly announcing the existence of Superboy. They gave some photos to local newspapers, along with some accounts of their exploits.

The result, the league received backlash from public for endangering minors. They got some CPS and social workers on their backs. Even Luthor and Penguin were admonishing the league. No surprise there, they might have been the one to set the narrative. Also, Superman's reputation (in justice league) was ruined and he became MIA. The covert team wasn't so covert anymore. Hell, the team was almost dissolved. They haven't seen each other since that fiasco.

The team was only called back due to lack of heroes, with Superman missing and some members away with the lanterns on the other side of the galaxy. The heroes were spread too thin. Especially now, due to the attack of the so-called Injustice League.

Their current mission is to find the headquarters of the Injustice League and call the Justice League. They are currently flying over a forest. This is the third most probable location for Injustice HQ. The first location was completely deserted, while the second location was riddled with traps.

"Who left because of us?" Kaldur asked.

"Superman," Megan answered.

That name brought various reactions from the group ranging from guilt to anger.

"Megan get your head into the game. Don't be distracted by that jerk, we don't want to lose this fight." Robin said.

"Fight, but isn't this a recon mission?", Artemis asked.

"When do our recon missions go as planned?" Wally asked.

Kaldur tried to answer, but stopped remembering their previous missions like Santa Prisca. "Ok, you are right, but we should still try avoid fighting. The injustice league are some of our mentors' worst enemies."

Megan expression changed from sad to worried. She said, "Guys the Bioship is isn't feeling well."

Before anyone could process what, she said, the ship jerked forward and started descending. The team looked ahead and saw count vertigo sending his brain waves at the ship. Alongside him were Black Adam, who looked eager to fight, Poison ivy who was smirking and Woton.

Megan tried to control the ship, while Artemis looked

The team quickly got out of the wrecked bioship.

"Guess, we found out the secret base, now would be a good time to contact the league, Robin." Wally said. He then ran off to fight the vertigo.

Robin tried to call the league, but he only got static in return. He joined the fight and said, "Guys, they are jamming the signals, looks like we are on our own." He then threw some bombs towards black adam, as he was distracted fighting, no beating up Superboy. That got his attention as he threw a huge rock at him. He ducked and analyzed the situation.

"I was expecting the league, but it looks like the cowards send children instead." Vertigo said taunting KF. Who was on the ground disoriented? On the other side, Artemis was wrapped in vines, courtesy of poison ivy. Kaldur was losing against Woton. And looked like Megan was missing. He would be whelmed soon. Guess he need to act soon. He removed the ELT from his belt and pressed it. Sadly Superboy lost the concentration due to it and got knocked out. Rest of the team soon followed. Last thing going through his head before he lost consciousness was a prayer that superman hear it.

Outside of Fortress of Solitude.

A boy was sitting outside a cave. Eyes closed and a look of immense concentration on his face. "Where are you, Damian?" he muttered. He strained his ears in order to hear the sound of his friend. Just then he heard a familiar sound. The sound of an ELT.

He immediately focused his attention on the signal and saw a group of captured sidekicks. They were surrounded by a group of supervillains. He then searched for their mentors, luckily, he knew quite a few of them already so finding them was easy. He was going to warn them and his dad until an idea popped into his head.

He walked back into the cave while still keeping an ear on the sidekicks, didn't want something to happen to them. He soon found a robot. "Keelex, I need you to make suit for me, model it after dad, but remove the under wear but add a belt instead. We will make more adjustments later"

So, that's it for today I am not good at fight scenes, so I might skip it, in the next chapter. So, in next chapter this mysterious boy meets the team. Would Superman's past get revealed, how would the league and team react, to find out more, review and follow the story
