Epilogue?
Author's note- For some ground rules of the universe, everything is virtually the same before chapter one of the manga, however instead of Yotsuba failing, it's Itsuki! I always found it silly that she cheated despite being so disciplined or whatever you call it so I switched her and Yotsuba's roles in that situation! Yotsuba is still the person who made the promise with Fuutarou, but did better to keep it(she's still pretty dumb) I'll probably play around with some of the characters, Itsuki being the main one!
"There isn't much time until the make-up exam, so let's study!" announced Yotsuba after having found her sisters reacting to Ichika's new style of hair, which was rather short compared to what it had been previously. But that didn't really matter, as for as much as Yotsuba was concerned, all the quintuplets were close to failing their classes and truly needed to pick up their acts in order to pass the make-up exams.
"The same goes for you Yotsuba." replied a passive Nino, who was met with nothing but an infectious smile from her younger sister.
"Speaking of the exams, have you guys heard of the rumor going around? " Suddenly all the attention in the room changed from Yotsuba to the one who spoke of the said rumor, Ichika. "I heard that our school is extremely strict about failing, and that if you fail the make-up exams, you get kicked out." This interjection from Ichika was met with nothing but seemingly fearful comments from her sisters,
"Kicked out!?" cried Nino,
"Th-that's just a rumor right?" asked a noticeably frightened Itsuki,
"Well I'm at my limit. I might just be kicked out because of this english exam." joked a sarcastic Miku, who was met with an enthusiastic "Don't worry Miku, I'll help you!" from Yotsuba.
And so, the quintuplets continued throughout their school with life that was moving by along with time. Soon enough, Miku had cut down her hair, Nino trimmed her bangs, and Itsuki had grown a brand new ahoge seemingly out of nowhere along with changing her style of hair like her sisters. Eventually however, the quintuplet's drive to study for their courses, or perhaps the lack of said drive, proved detrimental, and they were soon forced to take make-up exams, to which one of the 5 sisters unfortunately failed, and thus had to face repercussions.
Itsuki's POV:
"Itsuki-kun, I was informed of the outcome and have had some private discussions," her father coldy informed the trembling Itsuki, tears on the verge of spilling out due to her own failure and incompetence regarding her academic performance. Itsuki had been called to the school director's office earlier, and was now in conversation with her father and the director on what will become of the failing student. "It looks like that as an exception, we can resolve this issue with a transfer to another school nearby. Please don't worry, you will be fortunate to know that you will still be able to live with your sisters." informed her father.
"T-transfer to a-another school? B-by myself?" questioned a trembling Itsuki, fearful of what her father's words implied, to which she was met with an emotionless "Unfortunately so." by her father.
Itsuki then shed a tear, realizing that she won't be around her beloved sisters, and began to turn and leave the room, full of sadness, when suddenly the door burst open with 5 eerily similar faces to her own, all distinguishable by accessories that accompanied their hair.
"Wait! If Itsuki is forced to transfer, then we're going to as well!" exclaimed a determined looking Nino Nakano, surrounded by the other 3 Nakano quintuplets, looking just as determined, if not moreso.
"What are you girls saying? You four passed the make-up exams!" The director responds to the girl's sudden proclamation, only to be met with a smirking girl sporting a pair butterfly ribbons, holding a small piece of paper in her hands.
His eyes now widened, the director exclaimed "You cheated?!" to which he was once again not met with words, but actions, this time being the other 3 heads of the quintuplets nodding up and down, with varying degrees of shame of having committed such an act.
"Y-you guys…w-why are you doing all this?" cried Itsuki, trying to come to terms with all that is happening at the moment.
"Itsuki, I don't know what's running through that head of yours, but I'd hate it if you were the only one to leave" , said a clam Nino. "No matter where you go, we'll go with you," said Ichika, "Because that's what mom taught us," continued a smiling girl with a noticeable ribbon in her hair.
Miku then began to walk towards Itsuki, who was now seemingly overcome with emotions, concluding, "Itsuki, no matter what happens, we'll split everything between us into 5 equal parts. The 5 of us can overcome any hardship together."
That was when Itsuki could no longer hold back her tears, tears that at first threatened to show themselves due to her academic failure, but now flowed due to her sister's love and compassion, and was quickly comforted by her 4 siblings, with their father watching impassively and the director somewhat moved by such displays of love between the family before him.
After this eventful evening, Itsuki steeled herself to always help her sisters in their times of need, as they were there for her, so she would always be there for them, despite being the youngest sister of the family. She would even sacrifice her own opportunities for happiness if she had to in hopes of repaying the compassion she was shown that evening. However, not everything that came from this evening could be seen as positive, as the youngest quintuplet was left with confidence issues, a small sense of social anxiety, and a skittish nature all spawning from her failure of the make-up exam, and these new traits of Itsuki's wouldn't go away any time soon.
Futaro's POV:
"One Barbecue set without the Barbecue please" spoke a seemingly bored Futaro.
"What's with that guy? One student spoke to another while waiting in line for their food, however the person who those words were in reference to paid seemingly no mind, keeping to his own thoughts at the moment and gloating privately at his genius move of scoring more food for the same price at lunch.
'Most people here think the cheapest item on the menu is rice, but they're wrong. If you take away the barbecue plate from the meal you get a bowl of Miso soup AND some sliced veggies on the side for the SAME price as the rice! And you can get all the water you want! The school cafeteria truly is unmat-'
Futaro was suddenly pulled back from his thoughts as two students accidentally bumped into him trying to get to their tables, spilling the water he was planning to drink all over him in the process.
"Sorry 'bout that pal!" one of the students ushered out a half hearted apology before quickly continuing to their table.
'The school cafeteria really is the worst'
Feeling irritated at his stroke of luck, Futarou decided to just head over to the table in the corner, ignoring all the whispers that spoke of him,
"Useugi's eating alone again?"
"Seriously?"
'Let them think about what they want, they don't have any part in my life.' The boy with the bowl cut thinks as he reaches his table. 'At least I can finally study alone in peace', or at least that is what he would have thought, if not for his tray suddeningly encountering another on the table he had chosen to sit at.
'Oh am I just jumping for joy, yet another annoyance today'
Sighing, Futaro goes to look at the owner of said tray, not knowing that his life is about to become far more lively due to this encounter.
Author's note - Yeah so here's the epilogue! Nothing crazy as it mainly does just go over what was covered in the manga with some slight changes regarding some things! The story will begin to become far different from the original as time goes on(or at least I hope so!). Any criticism is dope! Peace!
