Chapter 6?

The next day, things started off fairly normal. Futaro went home after walking Nino to the station, and began to study once he returned, not only for himself, but also on what to teach the quintuplets late into the night, and woke up tired once more, ready to head onto school. Once again, he wondered how much longer he could handle tutoring and studying.

'Maybe I really need to fix my sleep schedule.'

Futaro's day continued being normal for the most part too. He, of course, answered all questions in class, ignoring everyone around him and any whispers that may spawn, even Itsuki Nakno, one who shared a class with the top student, was ignored. But this was par for the course for Futaro.

When it finally came time for lunch, Futaro suddenly broke out of his top student form, and went to look for Itsuki, who would normally be right next two him as they walked towards the cafeteria. However, she was unable to be found.

"Itsuki?" the boy called out, only to be met with silence from the direction of the classroom door.

'I guess she's eating with her sisters today. She must have ran to the cafeteria to get past me.'

He then waited just a few more seconds to see if she'd show up out of nowhere, but to no avail.

'No matter, I'll just eat alone like usual.' thought Futaro, not noticing the fact that for the first time in a long while, he was actually slightly disheartened to not have the company of someone who wasn't his beloved little sister for once.

Back to the night before-

Itsuki went to bed that night worried about how her tutor views not only her, but her family itself, and if he will continue to persist and teach them. As usual for the glutton, she was constantly feeling negative thoughts flood her mind, but she decided to push them aside in the morning, as she had decided on a course of action.

That course of action being to apologize to Futaro privately on the school rooftop after classes had concluded for the day. Why on the rooftop? Well, Itsuki would be too embarrassed to have anyone see her give such a pure hearted apology.

So, when the bell rang for lunch hour, and all the students in the room, including Futaro, left, Itsuki stayed, just to make sure Futaro wouldn't see her passing a note into his desk.

'Ok, I just have to put this note in his desk after he leaves for lunch. It'll be perfect!'

Just as she went to place the note in his desk, she heard her tutor call out her name, which did startle her slightly. However, she decided to stay silent, believing that to be the best course of action to make the boy leave, which turned out to be correct.

'Ok! Now to go eat with the others and meet up on the roof later!' thought the resolute Itsuki, proud to know her plan was going to go off perfectly.

And the subsequent rest of the day went perfectly as well. Itsuki had caught up to her sisters' table and began eating with them, conversing about their days, when Yotsuba told Itsuki of the wonderful news.

"Oh, Itsuki, Nino told us that she'd be joining Uesugi-san's sessions!"

This message from Yotsuba's lips overjoyed Itsuki, glad to know that things are looking up for their tutor.

"Nino, is this true!?"

"Y-yes! I decided that I'd pity him and allow him to be within my presence!" said the slightly startled Nino, not ready for Itsuki's enthusiastic questioning.

'If Nino's actually willing to join our sessions, maybe he can actually lead us to graduation.'

"I'm so glad you were able to make up with Uesugi-kun Nino!"

'Now all that's left is for me is to make up with him!'

And thus, their lunch went on as usual, Ichika poking fun at Miku, Yotsuba bringing everyone her usual energy, and Itsuki eating what would far exceed a normal highschool girl's lunch.

Eventually, all the girls went their separate ways, and continued throughout their days. When Itsuki finally ventured back to her classroom, she was met with Futaro seemingly waiting for her, who then quickly went to ask her about the note he had found in his desk.

"Hey Itsuki, do you know what this note is?" asked the honestly confused boy, most likely wondering why she would ask to meet him so privately.

'I didn't expect him to ask about the note!' thought Itsuki, mentally facepalming at her simple oversight.

"This isn't a love confession is it? Because-"

'AHHHHH'

"It's not that!" yelled Itsuki, face as scarlet as her hair, drawing the attention of her other classmates, which quickly made her be quiet, not one to love the stares of others.

Face now sufficiently flushed, Itsuki then whispered "J-just m-meet me o-on the r-roof b-b-before we g-go f-for tutoring. P-please?"

"Y-yeah sure"

'Haaaaaaah that sure wasn't pleasant'

After their classes, Itsuki and Futaro had left for the rooftop of the school building, both of them anxious about the meeting on the rooftop. Itsuki wondering if her tutor will accept her apology for her and her sisters' transgressions, and Futaro, simply not knowing what's going on, still half wondering if it really is a confession.

"T-thank you for c-coming Uesugi-kun, I truly appreciate it."

"It's not really like I could really say no…"

"R-regardless! I-I, uh, I, I w-wanted t-to s-say, t-that uh,"

'Is she really going to confess? After just a few days? How?'

"I apologize for the transgressions me and my sisters have caused you!" she quickly blurted out, catching the boy off guard and out of his thoughts.

'Eh?'

"Huh?

"I am terribly sorry about what happened yesterday. I should have known what Nino was doing, and I deeply apologize for that."

"Oh, uh, it's ok, we worked it out last night."

"If you never wish to converse with us, I… I understand compl- wait huh?"

"Yeah, me and Nino sorted things out. I was sort of bewildered by the fact that she outright admitted it to me, but It's ok."

"S-so you're s-still going to tutor us?"

" Of course. I'd hate to start a job and leave it unfinished." Said Futaro, flashing a brilliant smile towards the quintuplet on the rooftop.

At this, Itsuki was speechless. Not only had the boy not immediately quit being their tutor, but he also seemed determined to help them no matter how difficult the path before him may seem.

This kindness felt almost entirely foreign towards Itsuki. A kindness she seems to have not felt since her sisters stood up for her the day she had failed out of their previous school, forcing them to transfer along with her. Due to this kindness, she instantly went to hug the boy before her, burying her head into his chest, something she had only done before with her beloved mother.

Normally she'd be dead embarrassed on the spot to do something of the sort, but there was something different with Futaro. She felt like she could exhibit her emotions around him without fear of being judged. If only for just a little bit.

Futaro at first was a little startled by this, but after a short while, decided to simply rub the girl's head in a somewhat soothing motion. Was this his way to motion her politely to let go of him, or a way of showing affection, he didn't know. However, he did know that when he began rubbing the girl's head, she simply nuzzled into him furthermore.

'Thank goodness she wanted somewhere private to talk. I don't think I could put up with this in public.'

And thus, the two students stayed on the roof for a little longer, before Itsuki finally came to her senses.

"Ah. A-ah! Uesgui-Kun I'm s-so s-sorry! I-i-i don't k-know w-what o-over came me!"

"It's ok, it didn't bother me."

"I-is t-that so? W-well then l-let us w-walk home!"

'There's no way he wasn't weirded out by that! What am I doing? He must be saying that for my own well being.'

The two then decided to walk towards the quintuplet's apartment for another day sure to be full of studying, especially now that all the quintuplets have now agreed to cooperate.

On the way to said apartment however, Futaro could notice Itsuki constantly sneaking some glances towards him and his hand, although he didn't feel the need to bring it up in conversation.

Arriving at the quintuplets home, both Itsuki and Futaro were quickly pounced on by another one of the quintuplets the moment they walked through the door.

"Where were you two? Itsuki, he didn't do anything to you, did he?"

Yes, the quintuplet who pounced was Nino, instantly making sure if her sister was alright as she had failed to respond to any of the text she sent.

"I-I'm fine Nino. Me and Uesugi-kun just had some things to talk about, that's all." assured Itsuki, slightly startled by her sister.

"Ok, well that's good then. Just check your phone next time we text you. We were all worried y'know."

This line made Itsuki feel a little poor due to the fact that she made her sisters worry unnecessarily, feeling as if she troubled them for no reason.

Having believed she had checked everything she needed to with Itsuki, Nino quickly turned towards the boy who had walked into the apartment with her sister.

"And you! You better not get any funny ideas about Itsuki, You hear?" pointing an accusing finger towards the boy.

"I can assure you that I am not."

"Good."

And with that interaction out the way, Nino turned towards the table where Yotsuba, Ichika, and Miku were all watching some movie, having gotten bored waiting for Futaro to show up and start tutoring. They had planned to stop watching the movie once he had shown up, however that was not the case.

Unfortunately for Futaro, the quintuplets found 'Killer Klowns From Outer Space' far more interesting than tutoring.

'These girls…. Do they even plan of graduating'

After grimacing at his student's lack of drive for learning for a quick moment, Futaro grabbed the remote and promptly shut off the television, earning complaints from Yotsuba, the 2nd youngest quintuplet.

"Wha? Uesugi-san, It was just getting good! Why'd you turn it off?"

Futaro then felt a vein bulging out his forehead, and decided to walk over to the complaining quintuplet and quickly grabbed her ribbon that protruded so proudly from her hair.

"Because you can't be watching movies with grades like these!" he scolded, having grabbed her recent test paper for reference, which to no one's surprise was full of marks.

"Uesugi-san, you meanie!" was all that Yotsuba could retort.

After this little interaction, all the quints decided that, yes, maybe they should start tutoring a little bit, and all gathered around the table. There were of course plenty of struggles to be had with how academically inept Futaro's students were, but for the most part, things went well enough.

However, one of the quintuplets had their mind sidetracked by what they had heard earlier in the evening.

'F-funny ideas? With Uesugi-kun? No, that's too improper, and he'd never even think that way towards me. Right?'

After having finished tutoring, Futaro went home, kindly refusing any of the offers to walk him to the station, which would happen to leave the middle quintuplet pouting at his refusal.

"Ok, now that Uesugi-san is out, let's finish the movie!" exclaimed Yotsuba, who had hardly been paying attention during their session because of how much she was enjoying the movie. Don't worry, she still applied herself, it just so happened that she was often thinking of the movie they were watching before Futaro showed up.

"I'd rather be walking with Futaro than watching some crappy B-movie…"

Miku was still somewhat sad that she couldn't walk Futaro home, and thus let out some frustrations towards the movie she was enjoying earlier.

"My, aren't you completely smitten with Futaro-kun Miku."

But all Miku's frustrations were met with teasing from her eldest sister, something she was extremely weak against.

"N-no…."

"I'll start dinner while you guys watch that. Those kinds of movies don't necessarily interest me.

"What kind of movie is it Yotsuba?" asked a curious Itsuki, who had never heard of a film with such a strange title.

"Oh! Itsuki you'll love this one! It has clowns who deal out pie!"

That last word quickly grabbed Itsuki's attention, and she immediately went towards the couch, excited to watch the film.

However, Yotsuba had forgotten all about Itsuki's skittish and easily scared nature. If she had remembered, she may have cautioned Itsuki that she maybe better not watch the movie, as by the time people were being melted by the pies Itsuki had been so excited to see, she had her head buried inside the couch cushions to avoid watching any more. Ichika consoled her younger sister with pats on the back while Miku showed a slight smile, amused at Itsuki's reaction to the scary movie(which she thought wasn't that frightening).

And thus, the night for the quints ended, with Itsuki having to sleep with Nino in fear of clowns coming into her room, much to the older sister's annoyance.

The next day was finally Saturday, and Futaro for one was extremely excited. No school! Of course, this meant more time for studying!

Having been so preoccupied with the quintuplets, Futaro had started to feel that he wasn't treating himself to enough studying, and thus planned to fully indulge today.

'Finally! I have a day to myself filled with nothing but studying! I can finally escape that tiresome job, even if only for a day!' he thought.

Now he didn't necessarily dislike his job by any means, the quintuplets have all agreed without any large issues. Well, maybe one, but that's behind him now. But even if his job could be considered fun, he was still preferred to study alone above all else.

'Oh, Miku would really love this question! Oh, Itsuki and Yotsuba could use this to help with math, and this one is perfect for Ichika!'

After thinking for a moment, he quickly screamed internally before composing himself once more..

'Why am I thinking about them on my day off. This job really is affecting me more than I realized…'

Just as he was about to continue studying, he then heard a knock on the door, sighing that his day of uninterrupted studying was going to get interrupted.

"I got it Riaha." he said as he stood up going for the door.

There was then another knock on the door, this time more rapid.

'Are these the debt collectors again? Why are they so impatient? I hope they know we don't have any pennies to spare around here.'

As he went to then open the door, he was quickly met with a beautiful figure then many would wish to have. A figure with butterfly ribbons and long red hair. A figure many would quickly fawn over. A figure who had her hand raised, ready to knock again, looking slightly irritated at how long it took for the door to be answered.

However, Futaro did not do any 'fawning' and promptly slammed the door in his student's face, and quickly turned around, only to be stopped by hearing "WHAT THE HELL? OPEN THE DOOR!" from the other side of the door.

'Why do I get the feeling my day of studying is quickly evaporating before my eyes…' he thought as he went to go and finally open the door to Nino, who was now downright upset at how she was treated.

Author's note: Another chapter baby! I kinda liked playing around with Itsuki with the rooftop scene! It's fun writing cute Itsuki moments! Mhm, a lot of Itsuki moments so far! Why so much Itsuki? It's strange! Well, at least we'll move away from her for a chapter because this time it's not Itsuki going to the arcade, it's Nino! Anyway reviews are dope, and peace!
