Interlude 1?
"Did I score 50 points?" asked Miku, wondering if she failed the little competition Yotsuba informed her of, hoping she wouldn't have to partake in the tutoring nonsense that has been asked of her.
"Ah, well no. You got a 28 sc- wait hold on!"
The moment Miku had learned that she did not achieve the score to escape tutoring, she made a B-line for her room, quickly being followed by Futaro.
Futaro quickly started off running after Miku, not going to let a student of his simply walk out of their tutoring sessions, and he soon caught up to the middle quintuplet at her door just as she was about to close it.
He burst into her room, slamming the door behind him, before turning his attention to Miku, who had her hands up to in some way defend herself from the boy who has just charged into her room.
"Miku, what was that for? Why'd you run off like that?" he asked, slightly out of breath from running up the stairs so quickly to chase after her.
"I don't need you to teach me. You can teach my sisters if you want, but I'll be fine without you." she declared, putting her hands down seeing that the boy had no intent to make physical contact with her.
'Didn't you just get a 28?' Futaro mentally facepalmed at Miku's reasoning.
"But you clearly need help! Even the section where you got most of the answers right, history, has room for improvement, and I can help you with that!"
Suddenly Miku's eyes lit up, a fire behind them, before chuckling slightly.
"Hmph, I doubt there's anything you could help me learn in history."
"Oh really? How about a little contest to see who knows more then?"
Suddenly Miku ran towards Futaro, the fire behind her eyes now blazing with intensity.
"Then answer this, The story that Nobunaga addressed Hideyoshi as "Monkey" is very famous, right? But do you know that's not true? Do you know the real name Nobunaga used to call Hideyoshi?"
'She really starts talking when it comes to history huh?' pondered Futaro, before glancing back at the girl before him, eagerly awaiting an answer.
'Well then…. Hideyoshi's nickname… I remember the history teacher saying something about it.'
"Bald mouse?"
"...That's right."
'Thank you sensei!' Futaro privately thanked his teacher for mentioning the off-topic fact he just so happened to remember.
"But do you know…"
The two then went on naming a multitude of Sengoku era generals and things of the like for a short while, their volume increasing with each name spoken.
He then turned his attention to Miku, who for a moment looked excited to hear the correct answers she had been receiving, but now showed a more saddened look.
"Even still, you shouldn't waste your time teaching me. Out of the five of us, I'm the stupidest."
This perplexed Futaro for a moment.
"Really? Out of all the practice tests I've graded so far, you've scored the highest. I think that actually makes you the best out of your sisters."
Miku chuckled slightly at this, adding "Hah, Futaro is so kind…" in a sarcastic tone, "what I can do, I'm sure the others can as well, so you're better off teaching them than wasting your time on me" she said as she slumped down onto her bed.
"We are sisters after all," she concluded, head facing her ceiling.
'Wait, if what Miku is saying is true, then surely she can accomplish what they can as well.'
"Regardless of how you feel, I simply cannot just give up on you. I'm your girls' tutor, and I will make you 5 all graduate because that's my job. I guarantee that I will see all 5 of you laugh happily as you graduate from high school!" boldly spoke the determined boy, his little speech widening Miku's eyes in the process, as she turned her attention away from the ceiling and towards the boy occupying her room.
'He's really determined, huh?'
"...Do as you like. But I'm sure it'll be useless. You saw how bad our practice test scores were."
"Yeah, that's true. I was slightly surprised to see how poor off you guys really are. 'It would probably be an impossible task to complete is what I believe. At least, what I did believe until today.
"Huh?"
"What you can do, the others can do as well. But that also works the other way right? What the others can do, so can you, right?"
Miku was slightly taken aback by this.
"I...I never t-thought about it like that…"
"Look! Even if we look at the practice test, none of you 4 had overlapping answers!"
"That means?"
"That means that if one of you can do it, I'm sure the other 4 can as well! Ichika, Nino, Yotsuba, Itsuki, and You Miku, will all graduate, and I can all but guarantee that if you just allow me to help!"
A smile then began to creep itself onto Miku's face, "Really, what lame logic you came up with."
'Erk, did I not convince her?'
"Well, come on Mr. Tutor, let's meet everyone else downstairs." Miku nonchalantly spoke as she got up from her bed and began to walk towards her bedroom door, Futaro following close behind.
Author's note: Alright so here's a little interlude of what happened off-screen to make Miku a little more fond of Futaro! Like I said in the chapter 3 author's note, It was just going over things that happened in the main story, if only a little differently, but I see that I wasn't clear enough on what happened, so here's this! I'll get right back to writing the main chapters, so sorry if this is kinda short, but it's just to explain something I wasn't clear on! Anyway, reviews are dope, and peace!
