I had to think quite a lot about what I wanted "Money" to be about. Should it be about the munnies Riku stole after we spent countless hours collecting in painful minigames? Should it be about the fact that you collect so much and yet use so little in every game? Or should I focus on a character that I don't talk a lot about...?
Life wasn't always easy when you were a 60 cm tall, furry faced creature, in a world of tall, cruel, stupid humans. Even when you were the cutest being ever, with tiny wings, chubby cheeks, and the most adorable pom pom you'd ever see.
Upon the destruction of their home world, the moogles ended up scattered across the worlds,lost, without a purpose. Only one of them understood that this wasn't the end, but the opportunity for a new beginning, a bigger, greater one. The chance of a lifetime.
As magic allowed him to travel from one world to another, for a very long time, he observed. Adventurers, warriors, knights would fight and try to defeat evil, but most of the time, their equipment was so pitiful they didn't stand a chance. And that was where the idea came from. He would build the first franchise with stores in every world, selling equipment and items to adventurers in need. For a living adventurer was a returning client and a dead adventurer was a missed opportunity, the tiny Moogle worked very hard to source the best items and provide a very reliable service. His employees were paid fairly, with sick leaves and even good health insurance, and soon every single moogle in the world wanted a job, a piece of the cake. In no time, Moogle Shop Inc was the most prolific store that ever existed, ruled by one tiny creature with cute wings, a cute face, a cute pom pom. He would be remembered as Good King Moggle Mog XII, the richest Moogle ever, a true genius who saw an opportunity where no one else could.
And this, children, is why every time you buy something from a moogle, if you listen carefully, you might hear them address a prayer to their Good King, who ensured no moogle would ever sleep on an empty stomach.
