And here comes the Tower! Enjoy :D
When he pushed the large, heavy wooden door, it opened with an ominous creak. Of course, he could easily fix this, be it with magic or simple oil, but he liked the sound of it. Not only did it make a very efficient doorbell, it added to the mystique of the place.
"Welcome home," the man said to his friends, with a proud smile. The two other men smiled back, looking around.
"Well, my dear friend, I must say you truly outdid yourself there!"
"It looks like it could crumble down any moment, though… Isn't this going to be cold in winter?"
"I am one of the greatest mages ever born, and you worry about heating?" He raised an eyebrow, truly surprised. The two men started laughing. The raven haired one shrugged.
"Excuse him, since he started to let his forehead grow higher, he's a lot more sensitive to the cold."
"My fore… Eraqus! You'll see, one day, you too will start losing your hair, and I'll be the one laughing!"
"Well, you've met my father, Xehanort, you know great hair runs in the family! Sorry I have a better genetic background than yours!"
"Some things never change, I see." They stopped bickering right away and grinned at him.
"Sorry, Yen. Please go on with your visit."
"Are we expected to climb all those stairs?"
"Scared of a little staircase, after all that time in Scala?"
"Hah! You bet! Race you to the top!"
They might have been adults now, but they still acted very much like teenagers. Yen Sid smiled, looking at their silly competition. He liked them better that way. They would sometimes start arguing about how to handle Darkness, Xehanort challenging the ways they had been taught, and that often led to months of them not talking to one another. Having them fight about who ran faster was far more enjoyable. With a pleased sighed, Yen Sid started climbing as well. His stairs. Inside his tower. He liked that place very much, it was isolated enough to be protected by a magic shield at all times. This was home, and he hoped it would be home for years and years. What fascinating stories could happen in such a mysterious tower ? He wasn't planning to take apprentices to teach the way of the Keyblade the way his friends were. But maybe, some time in the future, he might consider getting an apprentice to learn the ways of magic. This was a fine art often forgotten for the sake of smashing things like a brute. Yes, this tower would be the scene of many intriguing plots, he decided.
But for now, he had to make sure his two wild friends weren't hiding rotten eggs inside his brand new desk. His love for them was equally proportional to his lack of trust in them.
I should be on time for the next one - it's called "Honest" !
