So anyway Peeps this is where I introduce the 2nd influence on this story the Soul's Winter Trilogy. A Trilogy of the Original TMNT Comic Book written by guest author/artist Michael Zuli who had also done work on The Sandman and something called Puma Blues, anyway the video I watched about this trilogy on the YouTube channel The Old Turtle Den really helped me because I think if I were reading the comic I wouldn't have understood it, the artwork is pretty but I hate how Zuli kind of made the Turtles a hive mind implying if one Turtle dies they'll all die and he robbed them of all individuality it doesn't seem the Turtles have names in his version and they all wield a single sword (Western style swords at that it seems) No Sais, Bo staff or Nunchucks and all and all in spite of all the vivid imagery and poetic language Zuli's story adds up to what I feel is a Shaggy Dog Story, nothing is achieved, nothing is really explained and the characters with the exception of Shredder and Splinter are beyond recognition, sometimes you can make your writing so ambiguous you end up saying a whole lot of nothing that said there are some intriguing ideas in Zuli's work crows are a constant motif throughout the Soul's Winter trilogy and so I realized this kind of dovetailed perfectly with The Scarecrow who depending on the version you read has an affinity for crows and/or is terrified of them. (Kind of like Professor Screweyes in We're Back: A Dinosaur's Story when I realized Scarecrow attempt to control Yuki to make her a monster to scare people with was Screweyes plan with the Protagonist Dinosaurs)

Jonathan met the 'Secret Employees' of Proteus Inc, a pack of intelligent mutant dogs who had been created to be hunters of 'Wild Mutants' that had been reported being seen around the city…They weren't yet about to be sent after the Turtles, they knew tell of just how powerful they were, but they felt certain they would soon be ready to capture those Terrapins and bring them to their beloved 'Pack Mother' Judith Noble, Jonathan also met the CEO of Proteus Inc Roman Pike who mentioned they were currently developing mutant birds of prey to help with the hunt as well as experiments with cheetahs, hyenas and African wild dogs, Judith had reservations about all these saying she wanted to stick with species that had hunted with Humanity for thousands of years.

Finally after all that, Judith wanted to speak with Jonathan alone again, she led him to a strange room, it was just a long hallway, no doors, nothing on the walls, just at the very end a window that stretched from the ceiling to the floor, outside dark storm clouds were gathered and fluttering back and forth were numerous crows, Jonathan felt himself begin to sweat, he didn't like crows he had some…Childhood trauma with them…That was probably why he picked the alias of The Scarecrow, become the thing that frightened the thing he was scared of!

"Professor Crane." Judith said not facing him "Now that you have seen what not even some of the employees of the company know about I must divulge the truth of my mission…Which is to help Humanity take the next evolutionary step…Pike is just a stooge to help me on my mission…"

The cawing of the crows was getting more intense; Jonathan tugged on his collar to let out some steam it was getting hard to listen.

"I am determined to liberate Humanity from all biological constraints…" Judith said "…The humiliations of birth, breathing and death…We shall become clean and pure beings of mind…"

At this point one crow began incessantly pecking at the window, Jonathan felt he was on a verge of a panic attack!

"Please Madame!" Jonathan said "The…Crows at the window…I don't like crows…It's getting hard to listen to you!"

"Oh for goodness sake Professor!" Judith said "The crows are outside, they can't hurt you!

"Yes, but." Jonathan squeaked he felt he had been reduced to school boy again and Judith was the stern teacher.

"Anyway." Judith said "I need you, your knowledge of the human mind and your fear toxin to help me on this endeavor…"

Jonathan was beginning to feel he was trapped with an evil far greater than himself and he was in way over his head!

So this is a shorter chapter than I realized but I think you get the idea, the descriptions of the Mutants are lifted from the PDF of Mutants of the Now I managed to read
