OK Peeps, this is where things get a little bit crazy, in the Original Soul's Winter Trilogy after one Turtle loses a hand, Splinter tries to save the Turtle by…Essentially conjuring a demon, in the comics they just refer to it as 'an entity that is fickle and dangerous' but c'mon it's a skeleton with a Goat's Head what else is it? The 'entity' refuses to help them because it is just displeased because they are neither human nor animal…Particularly they're not human that displeases the demon. (Seems Demons are only interested in humans and think animals are beneath contempt) but summoning this entity is what causes its messenger Desolation, a demonic skull-headed crow who seems to represent death to later attack the fallen Turtle…This really highlights how morally ambiguous the original Mirage Comics were as most family friendly adaptations which solidify the Turtles and their family friends as more unambiguously heroic if sometimes still flawed, would never have Splinter summon a demon, the Turtle would just have to adjust to only having one hand or maybe Donatello and Splinter would try reattachment surgery in that Trilogy Shredder in some ways comes off as more likeable than Splinter and Shredder is the one who heals the Turtle have the demon leaves while Splinter after being helped by the Shredder says their home has been violated and stinks of Man, Shredder comes off as what would be called 'A Magnificent Bastard' (Not my name for it) like David Xantos from the Gargoyles cartoon or the 90s cartoon version of Carmen Sandieago he's a villain but a weirdly likeable one, really I like what one YouTube commenter in the Old Turtle Den's idea about this trilogy is that Mikey ate too much tacos and pizza and the whole story was just Mikey's indigestion induced nightmare.

Jonathan's POV

Jonathan awoke from a terrifying nightmare unlike any he had experienced before, unlike anything he had experienced from his own fear gas…In his dream he saw a civilization of mutant animals rise, the animals became more and more civilized, embodying all of man's nobler attributes while the actual humans were degenerating into more and more bestial ways only instead of being amoral like actual innocent animals these beast-like men were clearly immoral, they became slaves to their most base desires becoming more and more violent, until finally they dropped a bomb rendering the Earth completely lifeless destroying both the humans and the animal civilizations leaving the Earth just a barren stone like the Moon…Just barren white rock.

Jonathan awoke with a start, he looked around, in this old water pumping station a few sunbeams from the surface had reached through signifying it was day…It had been about midnight when the Mutants had rescued him, when did they finally go to bed? 4 AM? Only after the Turtles and Splinter were convinced Jonathan would not betray them were they finally able to retire…

Then Jonathan noticed that white cat again, she was sleeping in an armchair with the footrest up, weather she had been placed there to watch him or as he was in the sofa bed there was just no other place for her to sleep, it mattered not, Jonathan was grateful for once not to be alone…

Jonathan's stomach grumbled, he saw a digital clock on a table next the sofa bed…12 PM? It was lunchtime and still no one was up? They really must have been up late!

Jonathan was at a dilemma, he didn't want to rummage through his host's kitchen (He may have been a murderous lunatic but she still believed in being polite!) but he also didn't want to disturb his hosts' sleep and he was so hungry! Maybe there would be a fruit bowl, something he could take from without it being too conspicuous…

He weakly limped past, the Cat Mutant and saw there was a book in her lab, it was a collection of Grimm's Fairy Tales…Jonathan smiled weakly, there was a time he believed in the morals of the books he read, what happened? Was it just he had been bullied too many times and he became completely jaded and cynically believed there was no true morality? As he limped toward the kitchen…He realized his encounter with Noble had seemed to shock him back to the way he used to be…Because her plans went to places even HE wouldn't go…He mused about how even Riddler would have to admit despite his putting the intellect on a pedestal that a life as a pure mind would be a miserable, wretched experience without the pleasures of the senses, how would a pure mind be able to perceive anything without eyes to see or ears to hear? Even if these super-minds were able to perceive with some kind of super 'psychic sense' it would probably be a paltry substitute compared to actual sight and hearing. Thinking about the dream he had just had of the civilization of Mutant Animals rising in parallel to the human societies, Jonathan thought about how dismissive he had been of Catwoman's passion for animals and Poison Ivy's similar passion for plants…How he had coldly dismissed their M.O.'S as the 'sentimentality of women' and perhaps misplaced maternal instinct from two childless women (I mean to be fair to Ivy she can't get pregnant on account of her hyperactive immune system so that may very well be the case) but having been rescued by Animals who by one means or another had been transformed into something closer to humans…Jonathan realized what a dull and dreary world it would be without the various flora and fauna of the Earth to bring variety to the things we see and experience…

As he reached the kitchen thinking of all this a voice greeted him with "You're awake."

Jonathan let out a startled shriek and saw the short and squat little man sitting at the kitchen table reading a book.

"I have something that can help with that ankle…" The Little Man said

"Some more magic…" Jonathan said remembering that strange spell he had done with the orange banded Turtle.

"No magic…" Said the Man pulling a bottle out of his satchel "…Ointment, ointment you can buy at the store."

Jonathan blushed and chuckled, normally he loathed to be touched by anyone, but now he was placid he sat in a kitchen chair and let the strange little man, roll up his pant leg to apply the ointment to his ankle.

"This ointment is normally for horses…" The little man said as he rubbed the ointment on his ankle "But it works just fine on humans, in fact it might work a little faster on humans…Maybe because humans are smaller…"

Yuki's POV

I was woken by the sound of Jonathan screaming, then I heard the sound of Papa's voice and was able to figure out what probably happened Papa spooked him with the typical 'Ninja Greeting' I yawned and went back to sleep, remembering Papa said he would take care of Jonathan.

I had been asked to watch Jonathan after he had fallen asleep, even though we were fairly convinced he wouldn't betray us, Raphael had leant me a book…It was a collection of Grimm's Fairy Tales…To think of all Turtles he would read this…But maybe that's why he was so cranky…That deep down he was an idealist and he was unhappy because the world was so unfair and unjust.

But as I fell back asleep, I had a terrifying dream….

I could see Dr. Noble and her pack of Mutant Dogs…Standing in the rubble we had rescued Jonathan from, it was just a few minutes before dawn…

"Well…" I heard her say in her deep husky voice "If nothing else…You brought me a sample of those turtles' DNA we can experiment with, and she began collect some blood…Mikey's blood…That had been spilled when Killer cut off his hand off the floor when suddenly came another voice saying "Bleeder…Beautiful…"

The Mutant Dogs all become alarmed, the fur on the backs of their necks stands up, and their tails become erect as if they innately know the evil this entity is…Out of thin air, a strange skull headed crow appears saying "My Dearest…My Sweet Beast…I am Coming…Desolation…IS COMING!"

And with that I wake up with a scream!

Yeah…I think I'll leave it there…Maybe years ago I took horse riding lessons and when one time the night before I had twisted my ankle the teacher rubbed something on it meant normally for the horses my ankle felt better in only a few minutes also Raph having a collection of Grimm's Fairy Tales is a reference to one of a quartet of stories about the Turtles' rooms by Delia Ra'Nar the story about Raph's room is called Waiting Rooms
