Authors Notes before we begin: Its baaaaaaaaaack. Welcome to Season 2.
City A, the center of the universe. In the very middle of what seems like a Gargantua moat stand is a metropolis consisting of a single blackish silver skyscraper that seems to reach out into infinity. The tallest tower in the world, The Hero Association Headquarters, rebuilt after the Dark Matter Thieves' assault on the city almost one year ago it is now an impenetrable fortress with 25 highways, all stretching into individual city. Around it, a miserable wasteland, the husk of once was a rapidly expanding city, a desert void. It was hot, a dry hot; no amount of sweating can cool you down, even if you were ass naked. With clothes, it's even worse; your sweat would cause your skin to feel like it fused with the artificial cloth of shirts and pants. No one in their right mind would just sand in the heat when there is a perfectly fine fortress right in front of them, and yet, there was in fact a group of people standing around in the desert, only a few kilometers away from an abandoned satellite array.
"You know… There are 3 types of people in the world that I will never trust… Politicians, Meteorologists… And Green Haired Midgets…" Midori sighed to himself in a gravelly tone.
Around him stood 4 people. Saitama, Midori's friend, and the World's Strongest Human; Genos, Saitama's Disciple, S Class Hero; Doctor Kuseno, Genos's Savior and Father Figure, also an expert scientist in the art of Robotics; and finally, a shorter woman, with tan skin, with black haired tied into a ponytail. She wore a 3-piece suit and is a member of the Blizzard Group. Class B Rank 73, Andromeda, and Midori's Caretaker.
Let's Rewind a Bit…
After The Hell Uprising in City W Midori's Apartment was completely destroyed and was forced to move. He decided to move to City B where he then joined The Blizzard Group as an Official Member. However, he realized that using his Omega form during the Battle of W City took a drastic toll on his health. He began having crippling headaches, coughing fits where it is common for him to cough up blood, a spike in nausea where he'd spend hours in the restroom blasting out of both ends; it was like he was dying. He regularly went to the doctors for examinations, x-rays, CT scans, hell he was even willing to go under the knife to see what was wrong with him. But every time he did, they all come up with the same conclusion.
"You're completely healthy." They all repeated like a cracked record scratch.
My ass I am. Midori thought to himself after every checkup. Months pass and his condition only worsened. Fubuki realized this and decided to get her newest recruit, that being Andromeda to take care of him on the clock, and she took the job with pride taking care of the now depressed Midori. Being ill hasn't stopped Midori from doing his job as a hero, going into the cities, and killing any Monsters he comes across. But people have begun to criticize his methods of dispatching Monsters, claiming that they are much more brutal and seem to want to inflict as much agony on the monsters before they died. It didn't matter if they were Dragon level threats, on a rampage, hell bent on destroying the city; or if they were Wolf level threats, just trying their best to survive.
Midori changed a lot since W City, and even knows it was for the worse. This illness, coupled with his identity crisis when Satan called him something "much worse than a demon," it would reduce a man to a drunkard, but Midori can't drink himself into a pickle, even if he wanted to.
One day, Midori found himself hunched over the toilet because another bout of nausea unexpected hit him like a truck in the middle of the night, however, since he had not eaten anything the day before, nothing came up and all that he could do was sit there in pain. He lost considerable weight but retained his toned physique. Suddenly the bathroom door clicked open, he turned to see a disheveled looking Andromeda peering at him from the door.
"What is it?" Midori asked coldly
"There is someone at the door, they said they want to talk to you." She said before walking away.
Midori got up, wiping away some drool on his mouth. His back and legs felt extremely sore from sitting by the toilet for hours. He brushed his teeth and put on a dirty white shirt before opening the door. He looked straight forward but saw nobody.
"Down here…" A voice guided him.
He looked down and saw Tatsumaki standing there, arms crossed, looking up at the much taller Midori.
"What do you want?" He asked, exhausted.
"You've been hiding from me for the past few months haven't you, Shitmonger? I've been trying to call you, but you'd never pick up." The Esper spoke to Midori as if she had authority, but she's talking to the walking embodiment of apathy, so the authoritative tone fell on deaf ears.
"Really. The Tornado of Terror wanted to talk to me." Midori said, already regretting opening the door. "Why?"
"Back when we went to hell to fight Big Red you made me appear weak in front of my sister. Just because you have all of these ludicrous abilities, you don't need to show off for you new bo-"
Midori just about slammed the door on the Esper, only for it to slam back open, smashing into the wall, catching, and breaking Midori's entire hand. Midori reset his hand back into place and let his healing factor take over from there. He looked over and saw Andromeda, shaking in fear behind a white marbled countertop. Her hair looked messy, like she hadn't done it for months, but Midori didn't care, he never cared for Andromeda because he felt like she felt the same about him, apathy. Midori looked bac at the doorway to see the Esper floating by the doorway, with a tick mark on her forehead.
"I'm not finished…" She said, calmly despite her appearance.
"I am done with you though. Don't come at me to talking in pure fallacies." Midori said as he sat on the couch.
"You made me into a support unit, you reduced me to a second class-"
"What a funny way for someone to thank their savoir who revived them after being clinically dead for a minute. You're welcome!" Midori said in a more annoyed tone.
Tatsumaki was silent for a moment.
"The reason why I came here is to measure how far your powers can go, this is an invitation for a sparring session. Next Thursday. Do not be late." The Esper said before walking out and flying away.
Midori sat there, thinking about what just happened, then he realized the gravity of the situation he is now in.
"Fuck… I need to fix my door." He sighed to himself.
Fast forward back to the present day, and the crew stood in the boiling hot sun, waiting for the Midget Esper to arrive. Saitama and Andromeda were sitting back-to-back, both on the edge of heat stroke. The Doctor was sweating but he had the luck of having a bionic fan blowing at his face to cool him down a bit; Midori was standing in the direct heat but doesn't care that hes about to drown in his own sweat because he has bigger fish to fry (oxymoron intended.) And Genos… Well... If you need me to explain why Genos isn't reacting to the heat, your stupidity should be labelled as "spectacular," and you should win a Nobel Prize for finding the Missing Link between Ape and Man. Suddenly their suffering was interrupted by a sudden woosh overhead, causing some dust around them to fly.
A woman with a very small frame and neon green hair floated in front f the group who were dusting them.
"Youre late…" A very ticked Midori said to the #2 Hero in the Association.
Tatsumaki however, didn't pay attention to the words that came out of Warmonger's mouth, instead, she looked at the chest plate of Midori's usually orange and white suit. The chest piece itself was smeared in an ugly dark red splatter that dragged down for a few inches just about the pelvis. The Blood of the Slain Demons.
"Good fucking grief, Shitmonger, couldn't have you at least cleaned the suit? This is disgusting it's been months since the Battle of City W." She commented, no, taunted rather at Warmonger who kept a deadpanned face, even though his own skin was being irritated by the chaotic combo of dirt and sweat.
"I spent days trying to wash it… It's impossible, it's now a part of me." He responded.
Tatsumaki just snickered to herself before turning to the rest of the group, quirking an eyebrow.
"Why the Hell are they here?" Tatsumaki asked.
"Dr. Kuseno wanted to measure my power output to see what exactly is causing me my unexplained illnesses. Saitama and Genos are here to both protect the Doctor and to moderate the fight so no one will go too far. And Andromeda…" Midori stayed quiet for a moment before turning back at the blond woman. "Why are you here?"
"Miss Fubuki requested me to accompany him here… To make sure you won't die…"
Midori didn't care to listen to her response, he never cared for Andromeda and only found her intrusive in his life, he didn't need to be taken care of, even in the worse days he can take care of himself efficiently. He never cared.
Tatsumaki protruded her chin forward and tisked to herself.
"Fine whatever. Let's get this shit over with." She snapped back to face Midori, pointing a very judgmental finger at him. "Don't expect for these guys to come and save you when I tear you apart."
"Dually… Noted…" Midori said before putting on his goggles and mask.
Out in the middle of what seemed like a new version of Hell and the Gateway to Civilization stand two beings of opposite but equal strength. The Tornado of Terror and Warmonger stare each other down, both hitching their breath, waiting for one or the other to make the first move. The first move is aways critical because it might be the deciding factor of the fight. Tatsumaki was now realizing how hot the outskirts of City A is and was breathing heavily to keep herself cool, she didn't want to make a miscalculation in this fight.
"You know Shitmonger, I almost feel bad for you. Almost. You have to go up against me, I think Im showing a sign of weakness." Tornado sneered, unmoving.
On the other side, Warmonger stood, his face hiding behind goggles and a face mask.
"That's what dying does. It shows the truth about someone." Warmonger threw back his own witty remark, causing Tornado to flare up in rage. "Make the first move Weather Girl…"
Tornado sighed to herself. Looks like he goaded me into making the first move. Sly BASTARD!
She took off at Mach speed towards Warmonger who was still in his base form, who still effortlessly doges her. Tornado doesn't stop as she made a midair backflip and, using her ESP to build p kinetic energy, slammed her foot down, launching the sand around her (and Warmonger) upwards. She levitated towards him, spinning herself around at incredible speeds, picking up rocks with her down energy barrier, making them into lethal projectiles. Warmonger, still in midair landed back down on the group and pulled out the pistol from its holster and shooting the rocks with pinpoint precision. While Warmonger was distracted by the rocks, Tornado blindsided him, crushing his pistol with her ESP, causing the trigger guard to break his finger in 2 places. He griped in pain but was sent playing over a dusty hill out of sight from the rest of the group.
"Doctor, how is Warmonger's bodily functions?" Genos asked Doctor Kuseno.
"Hm…" The Doctor hummed to himself as he looked at the analytics presented on his computer screen. "Brainwaves are going all over the place because of the damage he took, and heartrate is high from the stress of it all… Other than that, I can't see anything out of the ordinar-"
Suddenly, behind the hill where Warmonger was launched over, electricity violently crackled from a single concentrated point. The Doctor damn near jumped out of his trousers when he saw a sudden spike in everything that was being read on Warmonger. Brain Activity, Heart Rate, Metabolism, Overall Power Output. The group looked at the screen in awe.
"Incredible…" Genos commented.
"Whoa. Cool!" Saitama exclaimed aloud.
Andromeda herself did not say anything, she just stood there, mouth gaped open in awe. She turned back towards the dusty hill to see a black figure surrounded in, no, relishing in lightning.
Beta Form: Activated.
"Okay. My turn…" Warmonger sad before launching himself forward, revving up for a lethal kic, shooting across the terrain at blinding speeds.
Tornado blocked it with ease by putting up and psychic barrier, Warmonger's leg bounced off and was immediately slammed to the ground with at least 50 Gs of force. Warmonger immediately sot upwards, arm extended with the intent to grab Tornado's neck and break it, however Tornado just barely escaped the iron vice grip. Tornado responded by slammed her foot down on Warmonger's head, and as he fell back to the ground, she formed spiked from the terrain.
Warmonger adjusted his landing in midair, landing in the space between to spikes. He knew what was next, as he jumped upwards, dodging another suddenly protruding spike from reaching his crotch. Using the tip of a newly formed spike and smashed it down, causing a surrounding shockwave, sending the spikes upwards. She blocked all the one coming spikes with a pretty weak barrier but didn't expect for Warmonger to be right below her. He threw a punch which was centimeters away from connecting but Tornado dodged it, and after Warmonger threw (and missed) a few more punches, Tornado decided to use her ESP to kick up a large amount of dust, that would lower Warmonger's vision and give her a bit of breathing room.
She closed her eyes to use her ESP as a sonar, looking for any life forms in a 5-kilometer radius from her. However, as she searched, she spotted, no sensed nothing out of the ordinary. All I can see is the Baldy, Tin Can, The Doctor and the girl… Where the hell is- WAIT. She shot her eyes wide open, just in time to see a white and orange cladded Warmonger swiftly coming out of a particularly thick dust cloud, with his leg reeled back for another kick. Although she put up a shield in time, she overestimated the integrity of her own ESP and it quickly shattered by the force of the kick. She caught the brunt of the force using her forehead and pushed Warmonger off slightly to tap his chest which exploded in green ESP. Warmonger blasted backwards but caught himself by embedding his feet into the ground, regaining his balance. He looked up to see Tornado barreling toward him, he moved so fast behind her that even his after image didn't react as she slammed against nothing but the wind. Tornado realized there was a change of pressure above her, looking up she saw Warmonger's foot crashing onto her head with the force of a thousand suns, revenge for Tornado doing that to him earlier.
She launched him upwards, genuinely getting upset at his persistence to keep being, but as she looked up all she saw Warmonger doing a backflip, blocking a good portion of the sun and suddenly, in midair when he was upright a bolt of lightning shot down from the clear sky, striking and enveloping Warmonger in a ball of light.
Back on the ground, the Doctor Kuseno's computer literally began to spark on the edge of a meltdown due to Warmonger's Power Spikes, but he didn't seem to notice as everyone was staring at the second ball of light in the sky.
Alpha Form: Activated.
Tornado knew that Warmonger was just going to get stronger and stronger the more she kept fighting him, so in an attempt to end the fight early she grabbed him in a very strong, very thick forcefield in order to constrict a submission out of him. However, she realized that Warmonger was still moving despite the amount of pressure being forced onto his body, in fact, he was breaking through the barrier slowly, it peeled off of him like nylon wrap. He shot out of the force hold and shot straight toward Tornado who began to fight with him chaotically around the combat area. On the ground, the entire group was shielding their eyes from the amount of dust the fight is kicking up. Andromeda and Saitama were particularly annoyed with the dust. It took me a whole hour just to get ready and in 2 minutes it was completely undone. Andromeda thought to herself, seething. There's dust in my crotch! Saitama grumbled.
"ENOGUH!" Tornado roared in rage, she was furious that Warmonger won't just keel over and die, and the fact that he got a few good licks on her was also pissing her off.
She grabbed Warmonger's leg and slammed him back down to earth with a mighty heave, and using her powers, picked up all the loose sedimentary around her and put so much pressure on it that she formed a large boulder out of literal dust. Then she slammed the boulder on the area where Warmonger landed. The sudden act of brutality caused 3 of the 4 people on the ground to grasp sharply, all but Saitama who just stared on with dead fisheyes. Tornado wasn't done with torturing Warmonger as she applied more pressure onto the boulder, causing it sink into the ground as it gained density. She grits her teeth so hard that she formed 2 more veins on her forehead and a drop of blood began to trickle out of her nose-
Everything. Goes. Red.
The sky, the sand, everything. Blood Red. Tornado looked around and thought she popped a blood vessel in her eye. She blinked a few times, but it didn't change at all. She thought a monster was on the loose… Until she saw the area where she slammed the boulder down onto. It was now a smoking crater, and as the redness and smoke subsided, there was only 1 thing standing in said boulder. Warmonger.
Omega Form: Á̴͖c̴̦̝̐t̸̖̾i̴̙̻̇v̵͎͈̈́̀a̵̲̥͑t̶̪̎ė̸̤d̷͕͍̎́.
This transformation literally melted the core of Dr. Kuseno's computer. Warmonger only lifted a finger, but as b=he straightened his finger out, a suddenly, violent, and powerful gust of energy sent Tornado flying backwards, she countered this by sending the energy flying in opposite directions and charged at Warmonger, however he stayed unmoving at she zipped around him at almost 900 kilometers per minute. One simple touch from her finger would literally tear Warmonger's skeleton from out of his body, which might not kill him, but it will absolutely secure her the win. She reached, he waited.
Flick.
A flick. Was all that was needed to put down Tornado, one powerful and devastating flick to the side of the neck, assisted by Warmonger's Beta Deadshot ability caused her to black out into unconsciousness immediately. However, Midori was no longer in control of himself. He kept on wailing on the unconscious Tornado, not to end the fight, because let's be real, the fight is over. He did it out of bloodthirst. This is no longer Midori, the Class S hero Warmonger; this was Warmonger who was doing this. Punch after punch after punch, not caring when the blood began to trickle down of her face, not caring that she can no longer defend herself. He. Did. Not. Care.
Saitama was the only one in the group who can tell what is going on.
"Uh oh. Time for me to get involved." He said before rocketing off faster than either of the heroes who were currently fighting.
Warmonger raised his fist for one final blow to end Tatsumaki.
"The powers of a god, capable of leveling cities and you give it to the most immature, inappropriate being on this planet." Warmonger insulted in his multi-voiced form. "Nožēlojams."
Enter Saitama Left: "Sorry bro."
"WHAT?"
Saitama karate chopped Warmonger on the top of his head, immediately knocking him out, and causing him to flop over before the lower half of his body crashed back down to the sand. The Bald hero looked at the devastation left in their wake. The sandy terrain had been crystalized by various lightning strikes that occurred during Midori's transformation. He looked back at the two unconscious heroes on the floor. He kicked Midori lightly.
"You got sand in my pants you prick." He said to Midori, who was too asleep to hear.
That was all that was going through his head.
The Hero Association hospital was a lot colder than people expected. It was made specifically to ward off any diseases so the Heroes can be up and running, back on active duty as soon as possible. Midori himself twitched himself back to consciousness. He looked around the room, the aches, the pains. All the things that plagued him that morning, the previous night, the past months; they were all gone. He sat up slightly, only to find Andromeda sleeping on chair beside him, always looking habitually unkempt, thee stresses of taking care of him. This is her first sleep in what seemed like weeks. Now he notices.
"Hey man. I brought some oranges." Saitama casually said at the door, wearing his trademark "Oppai" sweater, holding a bag of oranges.
Midori didn't say anything, even when he was handed an orange, he didn't say thank you. Instead, he tried to play back the event of the fight in his head, but he couldn't remember anything past when the boulder. He looked at the particular orange slice he was holding, pristine, no jagged, imperfect surface, smooth. He hadn't eaten an orange in months because his body would constantly reject it. He decided: Well, I'm in a hospital anyways, lets see what's the worse that can happen.
He popped the orange slice into his mouth.
.
.
.
THIS SHIT IS GOOD! Midori cheered internally before quickly devouring the rest of his orange. He sighed to himself. Finally, a light breaking through the clouds of his negative emotions. For once he feels like a normal human being rather than an ill, dying old man. He felt more alive than ever. He waited for Saitama to finish his orange before beginning to talk.
"Is she pissed at me?" Midori asked Saitama.
The Bald hero hummed to himself. "Typhoon?" He was referring to Tatsumaki. "We'll find out when she wakes up…"
Midori groaned loudly. "Great. Now I have to deal with a Midget using her powers to rip all of my veins and my arteries out of my body. Esmu nolemts." That last part he said under his breath, but it was loud enough for Saitama to hear and decipher, but he could understand what that meant.
"What? What did you just say?"
Midori lifted his head up, quirking an eye at Saitama. "I said 'I'm Doomed.' Did you not hear me?"
"Hm… I just thought I heard something else…" Saitama responded.
Huh… Odd…
