Ash vs Giovanni, Ash's Final Gym Battle!
"So what should we do for our first date?" Ash questioned. It wasn't as if he was the romantic type like Brock, his fantasies mostly revolved around capturing rare Pokemon like Dratini or beating powerful opponents such as Giovanni, Lance and Rex!
"You know I'm actually not sure, I never really put much thought into the dating part. I-I always fantasied about you asking me out and... marriage." Chloe's cheeks burned bright red.
Ash's turned a similar shade of red as he looked away from her. "Well that's definitely going to be awhile, we just got together!"
"Of course!" Chloe flustered. "I-I don't know, m-maybe we should wait until we're finished with the Grand Festival and Indigo League? I mean the Grand Festival's only six days away from now and the Indigo League's not long after that. Probably best we use the time we have to practice to ensure our success, we can worry about our first date later!"
"Right!" Ash turned his attention towards the Viridian Gym as the trio walked towards it, Brock hanging back enough to give them privacy as they discussed the matter of their relationship. "Besides maybe we'll think of something by the time those are over!"
A new bodyguard was stationed outside of Viridian City Gym, one significantly younger than the former one. The man glanced up the street and let out a startled gasp as he spotted Ash, Chloe and Brock, recognizing them from the SS Anne incident. He quickly pulled out a newspaper and opened it up to conceal his face from view!
"Hello there, I'm here to battle against Giovanni!" Ash greeted the man as he approached.
"Er yeah, he's expecting you. Step right inside!" Arlo coughed as he attempted to disguise his voice while keeping his face concealed behind the newspaper.
"Awesome, thanks so much!" Ash didn't pay him much mind as he was excited to earn his eighth Gym badge! Chloe gave Arlo a questioning look as they passed by him but didn't say anything as she passed it off as a cold.
As soon as they were gone Arlo put down the newspaper and uttered a sigh of relief. "That was a close one..."
As they entered the Gym Giovanni could be seen standing beside Archer on the opposite side of the battlefield, the two were talking to one another before Giovanni took note of Ash's presence. "Ash!" Giovanni clasped his hands together as a smile quickly formed. "I assume you're here for our rematch?"
"Of course, Pikachu and I have been looking forward to this!" Ash exclaimed as his fists clenched from excitement.
"Pika pi!" Pikachu raised his paw into the air while his tail excitedly flicked back and forth.
Giovanni smirked before motioning to Archer. "Mind serving as our referee?"
"Of course boss," Archer performed a light bow as he made his way towards the sideline opposite Brock and Chloe.
"As for you," Giovanni turned his attention back towards Ash. "I'll have you know that I don't play favorites here so this will remain a six on six battle and you'll be facing off against my strongest Pokemon!"
"Meow!" Persian stretched out as he arose from his nap to stand by his faithful master's side, Giovanni began stroking the feline's ears as the feline settled next to him.
"Six on six?!" Ash visibly shook from excitement as this would be the first time he'd be engaging in an all out Pokemon battle! It was also a great opportunity for him to get familiar with longer battles as the final rounds of the Indigo League would consist of six on six matchups!
Giovanni chuckled as he retrieved a Luxury Ball from his belt. "I take it that you accept the terms then?" He glanced towards Archer who was quick to nod before speaking.
"I assume the challenger is familiar with the usual rules when it comes to Gym battles? Well now that you've earned your seventh Gym badge, things are different. You see trainers who've collected at least seven badges are met with a completely different set of rules, one in line with Johto's Professional circuit. Now both sides are able to freely swap out their Pokemon however to prevent a reliance on switching midbattle you may only do so three times!" Archer explained. The rule applied to both sides providing a more challenging experience for the challenger while also forcing them to strategize instead of freely switching out.
"Oh right I remember that rule, wasn't it put in place because two kids dragged out their Indigo League match by constantly switching their Pokemon and not attacking?" Brock asked.
"Precisely," Giovanni smirked. "But it also forces one to think and strategize clearly!"
Archer gave a swift nod before turning his attention back towards Ash. "And as always the battle will come to an end as soon as either side is unable to continue, challenger Ash do you accept these terms?"
"You bet I do!" Ash excitedly exclaimed.
"Pika!" Pikachu chimed in agreement as his tail excitedly flicked back and forth.
"Then let the battle commence!" Archer threw his arm into the air.
"Golem let's do this!" Giovanni tossed the Luxury ball, releasing the rock tortoise in a burst of bright light!
"Golem!" The Pokemon cried out while holding it's arms out in a threatening manner.
"Golem..." Ash recalled that Chloe mentioned the Sturdy ability was a common trait for the line, he'd need to play this smart or Golem would likely self destruct once he was tuckered out in order to bring Ash down with it!
"Gengar I choose you!"
"Gengar!" Gengar flashed Golem a smirk as he burst from the Pokeball!
"Heh," Giovanni gave Ash an impressed smirk. "Stealth Rock!"
Golem stomped his foot as several large rock structures burst from the ground and levitated dangerously around the field, ready to strike out at any Pokemon that Ash sent out on the field after Gengar!
"Yikes." Brock flinched at the sight while Chloe winced.
"That's certainly going to make things difficult!"
Ash clenched his fists but kept a level head as to not worry Gengar. "Ice Punch!"
"Gen!" Gengar's fist became encased in a light blue color as he lashed out at Golem, striking the Pokemon across it's face!
Golem gritted his teeth but remained firmly on his feet as he slid back! "Go!"
"Heavy Slam!"
Golem sprang up into the air with surprising speed before slamming down upon Gengar's body, pinning the Ghost type against the ground!
"Heavy Slam, Golem has to outweigh him by at least four Gengars!" Chloe gasped.
Ash gritted his teeth, he certainly wasn't great with math nor other non-Pokemon related subjects but he knew that a large bulky rock monster like Golem weighed a significant more than his Ghost type!
"G-Gengar..." Gengar painfully grunted out from beneath Golem, he may be down but he certainly wasn't out yet!
"Gengar try and use Ice Punch before he gets off of you!"
"G-Gengar..." A light blue light formed beneath Golem's rocky form as Gengar struck upwards! Golem shot up with a loud shout as his face turned an icy blue!
"Rock Blast!" Giovanni swiftly ordered. Golem turned around midair as a silver energy began forming between his hands before taking the form of a giant rock! Golem took aim at his opponent and fired off, sending the rock flying towards Gengar! Gengar let out another grunt as he took the hit, dropping to his knee as his breath began growing heavy.
"Gengar..."
"Use Psychic!" Gengar's eyes glowed a bright blue as he hoisted Golem up into the air before hurling him towards one of the floating rock pillars! Golem was sent crashing through the rock pillar before landing in a defeated heap upon the floor as swirls filled his eyes.
"Golem..."
"Golem is unable to battle, this round goes to Gengar." Archer calmly spoke from the sidelines.
"Impressive," Giovanni returned Golem to his ball while keeping a calm look about him. "Dugtrio let's do this!"
A thick sandstorm appeared shortly after he threw forth another luxury ball, obscuring the view of the battlefield as the familiar cry of Dugtrio could be heard. "Trio trio trio!"
"Sand Veil!" Ash recognized the ability, thankfully he at least had the option of switching out Gengar but was it worth it?
"Gengar are you still able to fight?" Ash called out into the sandstorm.
"Gengar!" A positive cry could be heard as Gengar seemingly confirmed he was willing and able to!
"Perfect then let's use Psychic!"
Chloe leaned forward as she was curious if they'd get a glimpse at Dugtrio's mysterious lower half!
"Gar!" A blue glow could be seen through the sandstorm showing Dugtrio being lifted into the air before he was slammed back into the ground, however they couldn't catch a glimpse of his outline as the sandstorm was too thick!
"Tri Attack!" Red, blue and yellow lights could be seen within the sandstorm followed by Gengar's cries as the Ghost type finally fell in defeat!
"Gengar is unable to battle, this round goes to Dugtrio!" Archer called out.
"Gengar return!" Ash returned Gengar before grabbing at another ball. "Nidoking I choose you!"
"King!" A loud thud could be heard as Nidoking burst from his Pokeball with a soft pained grunt following as Stealth Rock took effect! "Use Earthquake!"
The ground began shaking as Nidoking slammed his foot against the ground, poor Dugtrio didn't really have a means of escape and due to him already taking damage from his fight against Gengar the attack proved to be too much for him!
"Dugtrio is unable to continue, this round goes to Nidoking!" Archer called out as the sandstorm began clearing up around them.
Giovanni returned Dugtrio and placed the ball back upon his belt while silently reaching out for another Luxury Ball, his hand lightly gripped it before tossing it forward. "Garchomp let's do this!"
"Garchomp?!"
"Pikachu?!"
"Garrrr!" The landshark Pokemon screeched out as he burst out. Nidoking flinched and lightly cowered at the Pokemon's intimidating presence!
"Nidoking return!" Ash knew just how menacing a Garchomp could be as the Masked Man's took the combined effort of Charizard, Giovanni's Scizor and Archer's Sableye!
"Sandslash I choose you!"
"Slash!" The Alolan Sandslash burst from his ball and clashed his claws together as he gazed up at Garchomp with a bold expression!
"An Alolan Sandslash? Interesting..." Giovanni commented.
"Blizzard!"
"Slash!" Sandslash spread out his arms as a fierce blizzard breezed through the Gym, Garchomp closed his eyes and gritted his teeth as he was pelted by the cold wind and snow!
"Flamethrower!"
"Garrr!" Garchomp opened his mouth to release a large stream of fire!
"Slash?!" Sandslash cried out as the flame shot towards him! Shortly upon the flames meeting his body the Ice/Steel type toppled over in defeat as swirls filled his eyes.
"Sandslash is unable to battle, Garchomp wins."
"Sandslash return, you tried your best and that's what counts!" Ash returned Sandslash to his Pokeball and carefully thought over who he'd send out next. "Charizard I choose you!"
"Char!" Charizard fired a stream of fire into the air as he burst from his Pokeball!
"Charizard use Dragon Pulse!"
"Char!" Charizard's mouth grew a purple-green color as a dragon shaped energy beam soared out of it and crashed against Garchomp's body! Garchomp uttered out a groan of annoyance as the blast pushed him back. Giovanni's arm went straight for his Mega Ring and activated it as a sly smirk crossed his face.
"Wait you have Garchomp's Mega Stone too?!" Ash exclaimed in shock as the pink light formed around Garchomp. First Charizard, Scizor and now Garchomp, just how many Mega Stones did Giovanni own?
"Heh, well I do own a mining operation in the Kalos region!" Giovanni waved it off while Ash felt a slight surge of jealousy, he couldn't wait until he was able to properly search for Mega Evolution stones!
"Alright Charizard let's show Giovanni the power of our bond!" Ash called out as he activated his own Mega Ring!
"Char!" Charizard's body was encased by the bright pink light as his body began morphing into that of Mega Charizard Y! "Char!" Mega Charizard Y shot a stream of fire into the air before locking eyes with Mega Garchomp, the two Mega Evolutions glared fiercely at one another as they awaited their trainer's commands!
"Giga Impact!" Giovanni ordered.
"Fly up!" Ash shouted, Mega Garchomp didn't have wings so naturally he wasn't expecting Mega Garchomp to follow Mega Charizard Y up into the air!
"Garrr!" Mega Garchomp took off into the air and soared towards Mega Charizard Y as a yellow purple aura surrounded his body, the landshark slammed into Mega Charizard Y and sent him flying back through one of the floating rock sculptures resulting in it shattering around Charizard as the fire lizard dropped towards the ground! Charizard shook it off and was quick to correct himself before he fell, soaring across the ground before coming to a safe landing!
"Whoa, I didn't know Garchomp could fly!"
"Pika pi!"
Ash was quick to shake his head as he returned his focus to the battlefield. "Charizard use Dragon Pulse!"
"Char!" Mega Charizard Y blasted Mega Garchomp with the dragon shaped energy beam, the landshark grunted out before releasing another fierce cry as he remained able and willing to continue on!
"Draco Meteor!" Giovanni ordered.
"Gar!" An orange orb formed within Garchomp's mouth before shooting off into the air where it promptly exploding, resulting in a bunch of smaller orbs falling from the air like meteors! Charizard let out a pained grunt as the meteors struck against his body, the fire lizard dropped to his knees as the toll of the battle and the Stealth Rock had finally gotten to him.
"Charizard-"
"Char!" Charizard shook his head as he refused to return to his ball until it was over!
"Giga Impact!" Garchomp's body became encased in the purple and yellow aura as he soared across the field towards Charzard!
"Counter with Dragon Pulse!" Charizard looked too worn out to fight but perhaps they could stop Garchomp before he made impact! Charizard opened his mouth and fired off the dragon shaped energy beam as Garchomp closed in! The attack struck as Garchomp threw himself against Charizard, the two Pokemon went crashing through yet another one of the floating stealth rocks, shattering it apart as they laid in the rubble!
A large pink light enveloped the battlefield before fading to reveal that both Mega Garchomp and Mega Charizard Y were out for the count!
"Both Charizard and Garchomp are unable to continue, trainers please send out your next Pokemon!"
"Charizard is tied with Pikachu as Ash's strongest and Giovanni took it out with a single Pokemon!" Chloe gasped with a shocked expression.
"Makes you wonder what else Giovanni has in store if he used Garchomp now." Brock commented as his gaze flickered towards Persian who was silently licking his paw while not paying much mind to the battle in front of him.
"Rhyperior it's time!" Giovanni threw a Luxury Ball forward to reveal the evolved form of Rhydon, most likely the same one that Mewtwo fought against.
"Whoa, a Rhyperior!"
"Pika!"
Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone in order to read up on the species. "Rhyperior the Drill Pokemon, it can launch a rock held in its hand like a missile by tightening then expanding muscles instantly!"
With Nidoking still able to battle the two had an equal number of Pokemon remaining and with the Stealth Rock destroyed thanks to Garchomp and Charizard's battle it gave him free reign to switch out! He just had to make sure that he didn't get cocky now and screw up, that Persian was definitely one tough cookie and it may take even more than just Pikachu to take it down!
"Alright Pikachu I choose you!"
"Pika!" Pikachu leaped out onto the field.
Giovanni seemed to catch on to Ash's plan so he silently recalled Rhyperior and threw a different Luxury Ball forward, releasing a Machamp!
Ash frowned for a moment as it looked as if his strategy was foiled though it quickly came to his realization that Giovanni had never actually seen Pikachu's newest move!
"Voltage Vortex!"
Giovanni tilted his head in a curious fashion while Archer crossed his arms and gave Ash a look that screamed 'Stop showing off!'.
"Pika!" Pikachu leaped into the air, blue electricity crackled out of his cheeks as a vortex of telekinetic energy began swirling around his body! Electricity started spiraling around the vortex as it flew towards Machamp, sucking the Fighting type right up before hurling him throughout it! The fighting type grasped at his mouth with one hand as his face turned a sickly green!
"Champ!" Machamp was hurled out of the vortex and went soaring through the air before striking against the Gym's wall with a loud thud that resulted in everyone flinching as they were sure that had to have hurt! Machamp slowly slid down the wall before collapsing onto his back as swirls were visible within his eyes!
"Machamp is unable to battle, Pikachu wins this round." Archer gave Ash a silent glare while Ash and Pikachu were quick to embrace one another.
"Alright Pikachu!"
"Pika!"
Giovanni placed his hands into his pocket as an impressed look was visible across his face. He directed his attention towards Persian as he returned Machamp to his ball. "It's time, my friend!"
Persian let out an annoyed sigh as he stretched out before leaping out onto the field, his tail twitched aggressively as he hissed at Pikachu!
"Pikachu come back!"
"Pika!" Pikachu raced back to Ash while the trainer reached for a Pokeball.
"Nidoking I choose you!"
"King!" Nidoking stomped his foot against the ground as he burst back out.
"Shadow Claw!"
"Meow!" Persian's claws became surrounded in a black and purple aura as he swiftly raced across the field to slash at his opponent's face! Nidoking let out a grunt before offering Persian a light glare as the feline retreated to his portion of the battlefield.
"Poison Jab!" Ash shouted with a throw of his arm!
"King!" The tip of Nidoking's fist became enveloped in a toxic purple glow as he leaped towards Persian before jabbing the feline's back!
"Meow!" The feline let out a yowl of distress as a purple coloring formed on his forehead!
Giovanni gritted his teeth while Ash let out an excited shout.
"Alright, we got it!"
"Payback!"
"Meow!" Persian's body became engulfed in a shadowy aura as he raced forward, the feline quickly lashed out at Nidoking and much to Ash's shock Nidoking dropped to his knees before collapsing face first against the battlefield as the battle proved to be too much for him!
"Nidoking is unable to continue, Persian wins!" Archer formed a sly smirk.
Giovanni whistled to call Persian back to him. "Rhyperior, it's time!" The luxury ball was thrown forward as the towering rhino came bursting back onto the field!
"Sceptile I choose you!" Ash tossed a Pokeball forward to release his faithful Grass type Pokemon!
"Sceptile!"
"Megahorn!" Rhyperior's horn glowed white and rapidly extended outwards as he charged across the field!
"Leaf Blade!"
"Tile!" Sceptile's arm blades glowed a bright green color as he raced towards Rhyperior, both Pokemon striking at once with Sceptile slash at Rhyperior's stomach while Rhyperior struck against Sceptile's neck! The two Pokemon grunted out before retreating to their portions of the field as they awaited their trainer's commands!
"Charge up Solar Beam!"
"Tile!" The bulbs along Sceptile's back glowed yellow as the Grass type began absorbing sunlight!
"Hammer Arm!" Rhyperior's hand glowed white as he brought his fist crashing down upon Sceptile's head! Sceptile let out a soft grunt before retaliating as he opened his mouth in order to fire the blast of yellow solar energy! Rhyperior was sent flying away from Sceptile before landing upon his back, the Pokemon's legs were too short to adjust himself leaving him wide open to attack as he flailed his arms and legs about!
"Leaf Blade!"
"Tile!" Sceptile began rushing towards Rhyperior once more.
"Surf!" A large wave began to form beneath Rhyperior, catching Ash and the others by surprise.
"Rhyperior can learn Surf?!" Chloe gasped out.
"Tile!" Sceptile disappeared beneath the wave as Rhyperior was lifted beyond his reach, the wave helped Rhyperior readjust his body as it pushed him back to his feet though Sceptile was notably missing as the wave traversed the field!
"Where's Sceptile?" Chloe questioned.
Brock narrowed his eyes as he focused on the wave. The peak of the wave soon burst apart as Sceptile came soaring out of it, his arm blades still glowing bright green as he slashed at Rhyperior and knocked the rhino off of the wave!
"Rhy!" Rhyperior crashed headfirst against the battlefield, his head became buried beneath the surface as his body went limp indicating that he fainted.
"Scep!" Sceptile landed safely upon the ground and flashed his downed opponent a smirk as Archer made the call.
"Rhyperior is unable to continue, Sceptile wins!"
"Alright Sceptile!"
"Pika pi!"
"Sceptile!" Sceptile smiled at his trainer before the three turned their attention towards Giovanni as the man began slow clapping.
"You've pushed me into a corner, well done! You may have the edge but I assure you that my strongest Pokemon is certainly no pushover, Persian!" Giovanni called out.
"Meow!" Persian leaped back onto the field and hissed out at Sceptile as the two stared eye to eye with one another.
"Well my Pokemon and I aren't going to back down now, we can't afford to quit now!"
"Pika pi!"
"Sceptile use X-Scissor!"
"Sceptile!" Sceptile crossed his arms together as he lashed out at Persian!
"Giga Impact!"
"Meow!" The yellow and purple aura surrounded Persian once more as he raced forward, tanking the hit as he struck his head against Sceptile's chest!
"S-Scept!" Sceptile went wide eyed as he flew backwards before collapsing onto his side, swirls now forming within his eyes as a light groan escaped his mouth. "Tile..."
"Sceptile is unable to continue battling, Persian wins!"
"Sceptile return, you did great out there and I couldn't ask for anything else. Take a long rest!" Ash placed the ball back upon his belt before looking towards Pikachu. "You're up buddy, Splishy Splash while he recharges!"
"Pika!" Pikachu raised his arms as the wave of electrified water formed beneath him, the wave towered over Persian before making it's way towards the feline who could only stare in terror as the wave came crashing down upon him! The feline looked more ticked off than hurt though as his fur was now soaking wet!
"Shadow Claw!"
"Dodge it!"
"Pi!" However it appeared that Persian still had the higher speed stats in comparison to Pikachu as the feline lashed out and raked his claws across Pikachu's face before the mouse could escape! "Chaaa!"
"Thunderbolt quick!"
"Pikachuuuuu!" Pikachu's cheeks sparked as he delivered a powerful shock to Persian, the attack dealt a significant amount more damage as Persian was still soaking! The feline let out a yowl of pain as his fur turned a scorched black! Persian caught a reflection of himself in a nearby puddle and let out a meow of distress before flashing Pikachu a murderous look as a growl escaped his mouth.
"Meow!"
"Power Gem!" The gem atop Persian's head shined brightly before a red-pink beam fired out of it, blasting Pikachu away as the feline snarled out!
"Pi!" Pikachu was tossed across the field before landing in a heap in front of Ash who bent over to check on his partner with a look of concern.
"You okay buddy?"
"P-Pika..." Pikachu gazed upwards with a weak expression before delivering a nod to his trainer. "Pika."
Ash formed a light smile before stepping back to allow the battle to continue.
"Persian use Giga Impact!"
"Meow!" Persian's eyes had a murderous intent to them as the yellow and purple aura surrounded his body once more.
"Voltage Vortex!"
"Pika!" Pikachu's eyes glowed a bright blue color while blue electricity began crackling out of his cheeks, the telekinetic vortex began forming around him before quickly filling with electricity! Persian was unable to stop himself as he went racing directly into the vortex and Giovanni could only watch with clenched fists as his feline was hurled throughout the vortex before being sent flying out!
"Meooow!" Persian yowled as he flew through the air before crashing against the ground, the feline wasn't done yet however as he slowly rose to his feet and turned to face Pikachu. His fierce mood appeared to override the natural cooldown getting him ready to perform another attack!
"Volt Tackle quick!"
"Pi!"
"Giga Impact!"
"Pika pika pika!" Golden electricity formed around Pikachu as he raced across the field!
"Meow!" The yellow and purple aura surrounded Persian as he charged at Pikachu, neither appeared willing to back down as they met in a head on collision with a large explosion setting off upon impact which sent the two flying through the air as smoke covered the field! Ash clenched his fists while Brock and Chloe leaned forward as anticipation filled them. Even the Rocket Trio who had snuck in wearing their usual disguises looked on as they were eager to see the results of the match!
The smoke cleared and both Persian and Pikachu could be seen standing, heavy breath escaping from both as they gave each other challenging looks. Their legs shook and it looked as if it could go either way, the battle was clearly over as neither were fit to attack so all they could do was watch and see what happened. Pikachu's front leg twitched causing him to drop to one knee causing the twerps to let out a gasp!
Persian's eyes turned calm and the feline gave Pikachu a nod of respect before toppling onto his side as his eyes rolled up into his head. "Meow..."
Pikachu fully collapsed a mere second after Persian which made the result quite clear.
"P-Pikachu wins..." Archer muttered the words as he couldn't believe it!
"Alright Pikachu!" Ash rushed to scoop up his partner and upon doing so Pikachu offered Ash a weak smile before licking his cheek as he weakly cried out.
"Chaaa!"
"We did it, we earned our eighth Gym badge!" Ash excitedly cried out. While also beating the strongest Kanto Gym Leader at that, they were definitely ready to take on the task of trekking across Victory Road in order to reach the Indigo League!
"Alright Ash, you did it!" Chloe sprang forward to kiss her boyfriend's cheek, Ash blushed brightly and nervously chuckled out.
"Eevoi!" Eevee leaned forward from within Chloe's grasp to give Pikachu an affectionate lick. Pikachu let out a released a content "Chaaa!" shortly after.
"Way to go Ash, I knew you could do it!" Brock praised his best friend.
"Croagunk!"
Giovanni clapped his hands as he approached with a genuine smile, Archer's eye twitched at the sight but he remained silent. "I must say I'm quite impressed, from the day we met I was sure you'd be an incredible trainer. Your Pikachu knows quite the remarkable and unique moves and then you went and saved my life for which I'm eternally grateful. And it was thanks to your quick thanking that we were able to calm down Cinnabar's volcano before anyone got hurt. And now you've gone and bested me in battle, you truly are an incredible trainer!" Giovanni turned to face Archer. "Archer, give him the badge."
Archer silently approached and shot Ash a death glare as he placed a badge that resembled a sakaki tree into the trainer's grasp.
"That's the Earth Badge, take it and wear it with pride my boy!" Giovanni grinned as Archer's eye twitched at a faster rate. "I expect great things from you and I'm looking forward to seeing how you fare against the Elite Four!"
"Thank you and thanks again for sponsoring me, I can't wait to fight my way through the Silver League!" Ash excitedly cried out. But first came the matter of the Indigo League, Ash turned his gaze towards the window and the distant mountains as he envisioned Leaf, Gary, Giselle, Flash and Samurai waiting for him there. It was both exciting and sad that his adventure was coming to a close, he was going to miss all the friends that he made throughout the region but there was an whole world of people and Pokemon waiting for him to discover out there and he couldn't wait to meet them!
I believe that is the first six on six Pokemon battle I ever wrote, man was that exhausting! I put a lot more care into it than I will most six on six as Giovanni's essentially a main character, being Ash's sponsor and the boss of Team Rocket. I felt he deserved an epic showdown that showcased just how powerful he is! I hope you all like it, I think it turned out pretty decent.
