Pain. Nothing but pain and agony that Jay felt. When he felt the bullets hit him, it was as if he was being burned heavily by metal but it was worse. The bullets tearing through his skin and flesh finally entered his body. Before he knew what happened he dropped to the ground, his breathing heavy and erratic, his eyes fluttering to stay open. Hank pulled his radio and yelled for an ambulance.

Will was torn between helping his brother and going after his father who had his kid sister. They both needed him. They were his younger siblings who needed their older brother. The redhead Halstead knew that the others we're already following after his father. When he had finally come to his senses he ran toward his brother.

"Jay. Jay wake up. Hey stay with me kid" Will told his brother, putting pressure on the bleeding wounds.

The young detective was out of it he winced, groaning in pain. "Em…Em…Emmy…gotta…save…her"

"The others are already on it, I need you to stay awake and stay with me. Just stay with me"

"I…I tried… Emmy… she…"

"She what Jay? Come on little brother stay with me. Stay with me kid. Hank, where the hell is that ambo?"

"3 minutes out" The older Sergeant answered him.

The redhead glanced back, his hands covered in his brother's blood. "Find my sister. Now"

Meanwhile

Pat had been dragging his youngest child to a nearby car, Emmy had been fighting him the whole way. She threw her fist down on his hand that held her wrist. She kept trying anything and everything to get out of his hold but none of it worked. He was far too strong for her

"Get..the..hell off me! You stupid old sack of balls!" Emmy yelled.

The older Halstead man had just about enough from his youngest child as he turned just about yanking her forward towards him. Putting the silver gun under her chin, his blue eyes met hers. The young girl swallowed hard, feeling the metal of the barrel under her chin. He'd done it to her many times and never pulled the trigger. One thing Emmy picked up was when and if her father was bluffing. She always knew when to call his bluff.

"Now if you don't stop and keep your trap shut, I won't have a problem doing to you what I just did to Jay" Pat snapped at her.

The eleven-year-old rolled her eyes. "Yeah, as if I hadn't heard that before. Face it dad you won't shoot me. You never had it in you because we both know I'm more of value to you alive than dead that's why you never were man enough to actually pull the trigger. Because you don't have the balls to do it"

That had earned her a hard slap across the face from him, she immediately brought up her free hand to her stinging and freshly bruised cheek as she glared at him. Her blue eyes burned with anger and fury, but they were beginning to gloss as tears prickled in her eyes.

"Anymore words, girl?"

"Yeah. Go do me, Will, and Jay a favor. Go die and then burn in hell"

"Why you"

He started pulling her in the car just as a few members of intelligence had arrived. Emmy had been relieved to see them but was heartbroken when she hadn't seen her two brothers. She didn't blame Will for staying with Jay, Jay needed him more than she did. He was dying because of her.

Antonio, Kevin, Adam and Kim were there all with guns drawn aiming it at Pat. They had to be careful not to hit Emmy if a shootout occurred. Pat smirked and pulled his daughter close in front of him using her as a human shield. Emmy had felt her heart hammering in her chest, little sweat droplets leaked down from her forehead. Now she was terrified.

The senior detective looked to his colleagues and signed for them to lower their weapons, without hesitation they had lowered their weapons and kept them at their sides. Antonio then looked at Pat.

"We lowered our weapons now, why don't you let Emmy come over to us. Show us a sign of good faith" Antonio spoke first.

"I'd rather not. The little ass cost me a lot" Pat spat.

"You did that yourself, shit for brains" Emmy spit back at him.

"One more word out of you and you'll eat a bullet like that bastard brother of yours did"

Emmy soon started jabbing her elbow into his midsection forcing him to loosen his grip on her, she saw a very small opening. Opening her mouth she went at the hand that held her and she bit down as hard as she could on it. It had caused the older man to scream and drop the gun letting Emmy go in the process.

The young girl had acted quickly grabbing the gun off the ground, she held it with shaky and trembling hands. Her eyes held a mixture of fear and boldness. She had tried to stop the shaking in her hands but couldn't.

"Emmy, don't do it kid. Put the gun down" Adam had called to her.

"No! He took my mom from me. He shot Jay. He kept me from my brothers. He beat me and used me like a guinea pig. No more. It's time he pays for his actions" Emmy's voice shook with nervousness.

"Emmy don't do this. He's not worth it. Think about your brothers, Will and Jay. Don't make them lose you too. Drop the gun sweetheart" Antonio tried.

"He…he killed my mom. He killed my mom!" She burst into tears. "He needs to pay for what he did"

"And he will. He'll go to jail and serve his time. Toss over the gun"

Just as she was about to toss the gun, Pat chuckled dryly. "You were always weak, pathetic, with no backbone. Just like your worthless mother"

The eleven-year old spun and held the gun tight in her hands, the tears falling from her eyes down her face. Her hands no longer shook. "Shut up! You don't get to talk about her! You stole her from me! You killed her and lied to me. You killed her and said she left me, I knew you were lying there was no way she left me with the likes of you. She was planning to leave you and take me with her. You caught her before she could, one day you left me with a babysitter and said you were taking mom out. When you came home you didn't look distraught or show any kind of remorse or sympathy. The only words that that you're trap were mom died. Didn't tell me anything else. I didn't wanna think you had anything to do with it till I found you. You and mom did go out, you let her drive. There was an accident, the papers said the breaks had failed. Mom died on the way to the hospital while you" She gripped the gun tighter and walked to him. "My mom died while your pathetic ass lived! You tampered with the car, you screwed with the breaks. You killed her! Say it. Say how you killed my mom" Her voice went icy.

"You're crazy"

She went over and held the gun to his head. "You took my mom and possibly Jay. I won't have a problem taking you. It seems more than fair. You take my parent and one of my brothers, it should be more than fair that I take your life. You don't deserve it just as you don't deserve me, Will or Jay. I have waited for this day for so long"

"Emmy!"

Will had come running, he left Jay as he was being escorted to the hospital with a full detail. Now his sister had needed him and he had to stop her from making what could be the biggest mistake of her life. The eleven-year-old stopped and turned her head to see her oldest brother.

"Will? Wha…What are you doing here?"

"Stopping you from making the biggest mistake you could make. Put the gun down honey. Toss it to me"

"No. He took my mom and possibly Jay. He deserves to be punished for what he's done"

"And he will be punished. They will make sure of it. But right now, Jay needs us. Me and you. He needs you to be brave and strong for him. Jay and your mom wouldn't want you to do this. They would want you to let the law take care of it. Let Hank and he others put him in jail where he belongs"

"Is Jay…Is he.."

"He was alive. He kept saying your name till he passed out. Toss me the gun Emmy"

Slowly she had put the gun down that had been when Pat jumped for her, before she could react she heard shouting as the others shouted for her to drop. Emmy dropped to the ground as the remaining members of intelligence had fired their guns shooting and killing Pat.

Once the gun fire had ceased Will had ran over and took the gun from his sister and tossed it to the side. He hoisted her up into his arms and held her tight, his heart still pounding in his chest.

Adam and Kevin had escorted the other two Halstead siblings away, Emmy tried to look and see the body of her dead father but instead Will tucked her head back into his neck. He hadn't wanted her to see that.

"Don't look"

She nodded and tucked her head back down to his neck, the two partners had then escorted them to the hospital to get an update on their brother. Emmy had been physically and emotionally exhausted, her eyes started to close and she began falling asleep. Whenever her head dropped she bolted awake and looked around scared.

"It's alright sweetheart, if you're tired. Just rest" Will told her softly.

"He…he can't get us anymore. Can he? He can't get me?" Emmy murmured, as her hand found Will's necklace and she held it in her hand.

"He can't get any of us anymore"

Will pressed a soft kiss to her head and leaned his head against hers. The drive to the hospital was long and quiet. When they had finally gotten there it was full of cops all over, when Will passed by with his sister in his arms they all patted their shoulders.

The redhead Halstead was shaking and Emmy felt him, it was very slowly making her distressed. Hank had gone over to him.

"Will, why don't one of us take Emmy and we go somewhere and talk. Calm down some" Hank suggested.

"I can't leave her. She needs me" Will protested.

"And she needs you to calm down, she'll be fine"

Before Will could put his sister down Connor had come out. Will was now way more anxious than before.

"How's my brother?"

"Jay…"
