Blood Prison: Part 1
Kairi was summoned to the Hokage's office. It was early morning, her long red hair swayed behind her back, while the small section that was in a small braid ran over her shoulder. She knocked on the door when she reached Tsunade's office.
"Come in."
Kairi entered. Tsunade sat at her desk, Shizune next to her, and Sakura was with them too.
"Is the something the matter?" Kairi asked as she entered, "Why'd you call me?"
"The Raikage was attacked last night?" Tsunade explained.
"Is he alright?" Kairi didn't have a positive opinion of the Raikage, but she was trying to put her family's bad past behind her.
"He is," Tsunade said, "But he's claiming that his attacker was Naruto."
"What?" Kairi asked, "It wasn't him! I was him the entire night last night."
"Regardless, Naruto is being sent to Hozuki castle."
"What?" Kairi asked, "What's that?" Kairi didn't like the sound of that.
"It's a prison. One in the Hidden Grass," Tsunade explained, "It's run jointly by all the villages. It's were we send rouge and troublesome shinobi."
"You can't be serious," Kairi shouted.
"Kairi we-…"
"This world is full of people who can use the transformation jutsu, and Naruto has his fair share of enemies. He deserves the benefit of doubt," Kairi interrupted, "This needs to be investigated. Naruto deserves that!"
"Kairi listen we-…" Sakura tried.
"If you want to hold Naruto while you investigate, fine, but hold him here in the Hidden Leaf! Naruto doesn't deserve to go to prison!"
"Kairi-…"
"If you think for a minute, I'm going to let you send Naruto away without a real investigation," Kairi summoned her Keyblade, she was seconds away from transforming into Wisdom Form, "You have another thing-…"
"Kairi, no one thinks Naruto did it!" Tsunade shouted, "He's being sent there on a mission!"
That made Kairi stop, "What?"
"That's why we wanted to talk to you," Sakura said, "To explain what's going to happen."
Kairi was taking deep breaths, still wound up from her earlier threats, "What's going to happen?"
"Whoever actually did this," Tsunade explains, "Wants Naruto at the castle. There's an old legend that says there's a powerful artifact there."
After a deep breath, "And you want Naruto to find it?"
"Yes Kairi," Tsunade said more calmly, "We're not forsaking Naruto."
Kairi's shoulders slumped with relief as her Keyblade vanished. She didn't even realize she was crying until Sakura came up and gave her a handkerchief.
"Why does someone want Naruto there?" Kairi asked as she wiped her eyes, "What does it have to do with this artifact?"
"Supposedly," Tsunade began, "This artifact is a box that grants wishes."
Kairi stilled, "A box?"
"Yes," Tsunade said, "But in order to open the box. A large amount of chakra is needed to open it."
Kairi looked up. A box? Could it be, the box?
"Kairi?" Sakura noticed her friends expression.
"A box…" Kairi muttered, "Does legend say, where this box came from?"
Tsunade noticed Kairi's confused curiosity, "Supposedly it was created by the Sage of the Six paths, why? Do you think it's something else?"
Kairi looked down, "I have request…"
"What, this is crazy," Naruto said. Tsunade just told him he was accused of murdering several ninja in other villages.
"That's right," Kairi defended him, "Naruto didn't do it, I was with him the entire night!"
"Exactly," Naruto said.
"We have a political crisis," Tsunade said, "If I don't do this, we could have war. I have no choice but to send you to Hozuki castle."
"No you can't," Kairi begged, "You can't send Naruto to prison."
"And why can't I Kairi?" Tsunade asked.
"Because…" Kairi stuttered, "Because… Because I did it!" Kairi exclaimed, "Naruto didn't do anything. I used the transformation Justu and committed those crimes."
"What!" Naruto exclaimed, he quickly grabbed Kairi, "Kairi I know you didn't do it."
"I didn't," Kairi whispered, "But I can't let them arrest you for this!"
"Kairi," Tsunade said, "Think carefully before you answer: are you really confessing to these crimes?"
Kairi pushed Naruto away before answering, "Yes I am."
"She didn't do it," Naruto shouted, "She's just trying to keep me out of prison!"
Everyone seemed to ignore Naruto.
"Take Kairi to Hozuki Castle."
"No!" Naruto raised his hands, "Shadow Clone-…"
"Wood Style: Prsion Jutsu!" Naruto was suddenly inside a wooden cage. Wooden bars wrapped around his wrists and pulled them behind him. Preventing him from using his jutsu and saving his sister.
He watched helplessly as Yamato bound Kairi's hands together.
"Kairi!" Naruto shouted as she was led out of the office, "Kairi, I promise I'll save you!"
Kairi's heart broke with every word Naruto said. She hated lying to him like this, but it was the only way to make it look convincing.
"You think this box might be the one Maleficent was looking for?" Tsunade asked.
"I don't know, but it does sound like that," Kairi recalled, "If it is that box… Send me to Hozuki Castle instead."
"What?"
"If it's the box that Maleficent and Xigbar was looking for, then I have to go. This could be the thing that Xigbar said he was looking for on this world. I can't ignore that. This could be stronger than some powerful chakra weapon!"
"Kairi," Tsunade said, "The reason Hozuik Castle is used by all villages is because the warden. He has a jutsu that he uses on every prisoner. If he brands you, you won't be able to use your chakra."
"I still have my Keyblade and my magic. Chakra or no chakra I'm powerful."
"It's not just that, if you have that brand and you get to far from the castle, it will kill you. You'll be burned alive."
"I'm not afraid," Kairi said determined. Everyone looked uncertain, "I have a better chance than Naruto. Please, let me do this."
Tsunade closed her eyes, "Very well, but we can't tell Naruto the truth. He'll never allow you to do this."
"He's not going to be agreeable with this either," Kairi reminded, "Just try to tell him that, he needs to find the real culprit out here. That might calm him down at least."
Kairi recalled everything they talked about as she boarded the boat.
"Remember," Tsunade reminded, "You won't be able to have any contact or support from the Leaf for a while. You'll be on your own."
Kairi looked ahead as the small ship began to set sail. This was going to be a difficult mission, but better her than Naruto.
Little did Kairi know, while she boarded the boat. An orange blur slipped under the sheet that held the cargo.
Today is the Birthday of Naruto and Kairi (At least in the Protecting the Family I Never Knew universe). This has been on my mind for a while. A certain box and Keyblades made this a top priority today.
