Chapter 39 – 2813

"B-Section's Nanami?"

"Yes, I am... A-section's Izuku...?"

"I'm sorry that was a weird thing to start with, but what brings you here?"

"I... live here, what about you?"

"Oh... Wait... Um, didn't you get the notification to clear the malls?", he replied as he looked around. Izuku wasn't sure how much he could and should disclose.

"Ah, it's about that. It's fine, you don't need to tell me if you don't think you can."

"Yeah, sorry about that...

Uhh, your fight against Kachh- Bakougo was really great at the sports festival!"

"Umm, thanks, it was very exhilarating, to say the least. Also, I mean you were brilliant yourself. Shinso beat our whole team singlehandedly, and you just... smashed your way to the next round!"

"Yeah, Shinso was a very strong and tricky opponent."

"Well, I just want a rematch!"

"That sounds like someone... actually a lot of people I know, sound like that haha."

"I know Tetsutetsu would say something like that!"

"So would Kirishima I'm sure!"

"Those guys are like long lost brothers or something."

"Yeah..."

"Also... um, it's fine if you can't talk about it, but can you tell me a bit about the USJ Incident? I have never encountered a villain, it seems like an educational event, maybe traumatic as well, in retrospect... That just sounds weird, ignore that sorry...", the conversation had almost run its course but Nanami tried to continue it, failing in a spectacular manner while trying to do so.

"Uh not at all. It was very... scary, seeing people stronger than even our teachers, but we had to fight to get out and save the others. Near the end of the whole thing, I wasn't thinking as much but I was just moving on instinct. Also, I was trapped in the pond for a long while, other people had vastly different experiences, I think. But once All Might came to rescue us, I felt a sense of calmness, I suppose."

"Yeah, he has that effect... and it's the exact opposite when you fight him... That reminds me! I saw your and Bakougo's fight against All Might in its entirety, helped a lot for my final exam!"

"It did? Glad I could help..."

"Wait your wallpaper art... I saw that somewhere online.", Nanami said as Izuku's phone lit up due to a notification.

"Oh! This... I made this!"

"Wow, the post I saw it on was huge! By the way, when is that photo from, All Might looks a bit different here..."

"Oh that's because it's the Golden Age costume, this exact one is from the tel-"

"Televised Water Bridge Incident, from 7 years, 8 months and 13 days ago!", Nanami snapped to complete Izuku's sentence all of a sudden, "I... don't remember... what? I'm sorry about that... I don't know."

"You are a dedicated fan as well hahaha...", he paused as he heard a car stop nearby, "I'm sorry I may need to leave, that might be my mom!"

"Yeah, that's great see you later!"

"Bye!"

"What in the world was that?", Kendo 2.0 sounded concerned.

"Well, whatever it was, she showed that 1-A Kid who's a bigger fan!"

"I... don't have any recollection of watching that telecast... I don't even remember what I was doing on that day.", Nanami was very confused.

"But you even remembered the exact date, what was that about?", Tetsutetsu 2.0 pitched in with the expert analysis of the situation.

"I kn-"

"Maybe it's a repressed childhood memory!", Tetsuya 2.0 added.

"That makes even lesser sense. What? Why would an All Might Telecast be a rep- You know what this isn't helping, good night!"

The next few days were just... there. There was a small chance that the Summer Training camp could get cancelled due to A-Section's recent encounter. Plus, nothing could seemingly help Nanami with the so-called 'suppressed childhood memories', and so she decided there was no point in thinking about it for the time being.

The mind doesn't work like that, however. No matter what she did, any stray thought ended up leading to her interaction with Deku. Thankfully, she didn't have much to do for the next few days other than preparing for the upcoming Camp, which thankfully didn't get cancelled.

She could only think of the Orphanage owner, who could possibly know anything from her childhood which she didn't immediately remember. But other than that, there were no potential leads. Unless of course, the 'memory' wasn't a childhood memory at all, but that lead to more questions rather than answering any.

But at the end of the day, it was nothing more than an awkward, albeit unexplainable, conversation. At most, it will make her cringe a bit when she remembers it later. But the upcoming training camp was going to have a direct effect on her life as a future hero.

Soon, it was time to leave for the training camp. As expected, A and B Section were on different buses. But contrary to their expectations, A-section got dropped off quite some distance away from their destination. They didn't think much of it at the time, and the tasty food helped with that!

After that, B-Section settled into their respective rooms, only to see A-Section finally reaching their destination, few hours behind them. It didn't take a person with a Deduction quirk to tell that A-Section got extra training... once again!

But this didn't bother Nanami at all. She had researched the Pussycats, a few days before arriving and Madame Sonic especially recommended her to meet Ragdoll as soon as possible. There wasn't much available about her quirk online, probably since the group as a whole was a lot more famous than its individual members.

Unfortunately, Ragdoll seemed busy on the first day, but there was always the next morning!
