The next day started early for most B section students, but like with all things in UA, A-section had already gotten a head start. By the time Vlad Sensei prepped them for the day of hard work which awaited them, A section had already been assigned their exercises.
Soon, everyone was assigned tasks that would help them improve their quirk, like A section, but that left Nanami and Monoma. There couldn't be a single quirk training exercise that would help either of them entirely. As a result, Monoma chose to work on improving his control over his classmate's quirks, while Nanami approached Ragdoll as planned.
"Uhh... Miss Ragdoll?"
"Yup, that's me!"
"Could you teach me how to use your quirk?"
"Let me see, Nanami, right?"
"Yes"
"I see, I see, your quirk is Cut... You seemed like you intended to learn how to use Search from the start."
"Ah yes, about that. I interned with Madame Sonic, she recommended that I should meet you!"
"Madame Sonic recommended me, wow! So anyway, I imagine it'd be hard to use my quirk with people whose quirks you already know... wait no! You might be able to learn its usage... Copy, um... Cut my quirk."
"Uh-huh...", Nanami replied as she snapped her fingers to use Search.
"So, what is my quirk? Weakness, any details, what do you see?", Ragdoll asked with her usual enthusiasm!
"What's it supposed to look like?"
"It looked like yellow text floating near the user if I could see them. I guess the colour can be different for you..."
"Huh... I see nothing."
"That's weird..."
"I see Small Red text floating near Monoma though..."
"Huh?", Monoma thought someone called out his name.
"Wait, I think I know what's happening. I'm quirkless when you are using my quirk!"
"Right! Of course, that makes a lot of sense..."
"So... well you know what Monoma's quirk is, I imagine."
"Yeah, this also shows his current time limit as one of his weaknesses... But yeah, I knew that already."
"So how far can you see? With Search, obviously."
"I... Yeah, no that's as far as I can see properly. I can see as far as Sen over there, but I can't read it."
"Suppressing your own bias is important, well done! Now, you can't immediately see everyone 100m away, that'll come with practice, but now try going close to people and sort of document their quirks. Try to remember all the 40 quirks of the students for now."
"Alright! Thank you for letting me use your quirk, by the way!"
"Yeah, you can use it for now, but it is off-limit for other times!"
"I understand."
And so Nanami started to collect data on everyone's quirks. She started with her classmates and unsurprisingly she already knew about their quirks, but some highlighted weaknesses weren't so obvious to her earlier. But broadly speaking, she didn't gain a lot of new info. Now it was time to "search" the A-section students.
Now, not only was she the only one going from one person to another, but she was also doing no physical exercises either. She kept getting self-conscious from time to time, only to realise that this was her assigned exercise. Besides, very few students had physiques as well built as her anyway. This still didn't help with the sudden, "Geez I hope they aren't judging me."
"They don't care just do what you have to and move on!", Kendo 2.0 was completely unflustered about the whole thing and once she helped to ground the situation, she just faded away temporarily.
"I know, I know!... Huh, Dark Shadow and Dark have almost the same weaknesses, who would have guessed."
As she moved onto Bakougo, she sighed as she realised that she already learnt about his weaknesses the hard way. Furthermore, the fact that he continued to explode repeatedly to practice his endurance seemed awfully painful so she moved on to the last student, Izuku, who was now just looking funnier with every passing punch.
He was told to keep punching till his muscle fibres tore, but it seemed like he would pass away from exhaustion before that happened.
"One For All? Wait, isn't that... What was All Might's quirk again?"
"WHAT? THE FUCK?", though only Monoma 2.0 shouted this (inside her head), everyone was feeling this. "AAAAAH WHAT THE HELL! ASK HIM ABOUT T-THIS! I DON'T KNOW JUST WHAT THE HELL!"
"Wait why? On what authority?"
"I don't know as a citizen who deserves to know or something. That's the number one hero's quirk!", Monoma 2.0 was going borderline ballistic.
"Hey now, CALM DOWN!", Nanami lashed out inside her head.
"The irony... anyway, talk to him later, he looks half dead already.", the voice of reason calmed them both down.
"You are right... I... wow, at least I think I can use Search for the most part!"
"Yeah, let's report to Miss Ragdoll for now.", Kendo 2.0 was freaking out as well, but she couldn't give in else they'll all fall into utter chaos.
"Wait... what if she asks me whether I saw anything out of the ordinary?"
"Lie- "
"Tell Her- ", Kendo 2.0 and Monoma 2.0 were completely at odds with each other regarding the matter.
"Don't look at me I don't know what to do!", Tetsuya 2.0 tried to distance himself from the matter as soon as possible.
"No one asked you anything though..."
"Well, that does explain his ridiculous strength for a student", Tetsutetsu 2.0 almost sounded uncharacteristically smart at that moment. He was obviously just thinking about a potential 'man to man' fight, but this non-observation calmed everyone down.
"Wha- you know what, never mind. We'll just say we saw nothing out of the ordinary."
"Great!"
"You know you guys are allowed to listen to me once in a while!", he was quite furious about the whole thing not going his way. Maybe he was right, but that is only something time can tell them. Or maybe, just maybe, there is no correct approach, perhaps nothing can change what's to happen in the future...
"Well, you seem quite lost. What did you see?", Ragdoll asked Nanami after she finally returned Search back to its owner.
"Nothing out of the ordinary except I learnt about a lot of weaknesses of other's quirks, so that was new, I guess!"
"That's great! Maybe with practice, you could eventually use it better than me!... The past few hours were quite surreal..."
"Being quirkless? Yeah, I know!", to be fair she was never quirkless just clueless.
"Huh?"
"It's nothing really!"
"If you say so!"
"What a weird day already, but at least it can't get any weirder!"
Yeah, about that...
