Unlike Day 1, it was up to the students to prepare their own meal. The only major loss was not being able to eat the Pussycat's great cooking, but other than that, it was a fun time all around! Most of the students were tired, but Nanami wasn't. She wanted to 'confront' Izuku, but on what grounds?
"He doesn't have to answer us, right? So, I mean, he can choose not to, and it won't get weird, right? RIGHT?"
"None of this makes any sense.", Kendo 2.0 and Monoma 2.0 finally agreed on something.
There was no way to make any progress regarding this matter, Nanami couldn't convince herself, rather the majority of herself, to talk with Izuku and maybe she wouldn't have to force a situation where the talk about quirks just might seem normal.
"How about I suggest truth and dare?"
"At that point you might as well ask him straight up or forget about it. There are 40 people here!", this was only their second agreement today, but it was obvious that they'd only agree if it hindered any progress regarding the discussion about Izuku's quirk.
"This is basically Bureaucracy!", Tetsuya 2.0 remarked.
"WHAT'S THAT GOT TO DO WITH ANYTHING!", Nanami snapped at him. She was annoyed but this was uncalled for.
More importantly everyone was so burnt out that they promptly went to sleep after eating. Izuku had gone after Kota, but most people didn't realise that at the time.
However, the extra studies group couldn't go to sleep with the others and then they subsequently had to wake up earlier than the other students!
"No matter what you're doing, you should always be aware of where you came from. That's what it means to improve...", Aizawa sensei remarked as the students pushed themselves to improve their quirks. Nanami was trying her hand at Telepathy (i.e. Mandalay's quirk). She couldn't talk to more than 2 of the people closest to her, but she managed to pick up Mandalay's telepathic signature, so at least she could talk to Mandalay at any given time from a reasonable distance!
"You can probably push it up to 2 known people, but that won't help as much as being able to identify the signature of your ally in a fight and being able to communicate with them!", Mandalay was quite impressed by Nanami's progress but guiding her on how to improve seemed like the right thing to do.
"I understand. Also, thanks a lot for letting me borrow your quirk!"
While Nanami struggled to improve her Telepathy, it was announced that a test of Courage had been prepared for the students, wherein A section would be pitted against B section. The latter part of which excited both the Monomas!
Soon, after a filling meal, the A-section students were divided into groups of 2 for the courage test, whereas the B-section students were the scarers. The extra studies group, however, couldn't do either and had to take extra classes instead!
"How about we scare Izuku into talking about his quirk?", Nanami's brain was running on fumes at this point. Trying to learn telepathy was mentally taxing and if she worked on it any longer, she risked ending up like Post attack Kaminari.
However, this didn't reflect on the other residents in her mind.
"The fact that this isn't your worst idea yet says a lot about your previous ideas!"
"I'm sorry I can't think straight, it's probably because of this smoke... Smoke? Why is it purple?"
Just before Nanami was about to inhale the mysterious smoke, Tetsutetsu slapped a mask onto her face, snapping her back to her senses as well.
"-el... me f... our oth... ssmates...", Yaoyorozu shouted at Nanami while her voice got muffled by the masks. Tetsutetsu, took off in a different direction with a few knocked out students.
"What?"
"Look for other classmates? I think.", Monoma 2.0 figured it out fairly quickly.
"All right!", Nanami shouted back unsure of whether Momo caught that or not. But they had a general understanding, and they took off to their right where Nanami could see some writing floating in the air while using Search, indicating a quirked individual was in that direction.
Telepathy could help her at that moment, but it wasn't worth the risk to try a newly learned quirk at that point.
When Nanami and Momo got close, Nanami tried to shout, "It says Regeneration!"
"-genera-?"
"She got it, probably. Doesn't matter just give me a m-... Wait a minute. Who in our classes has regeneration as their quirk?"
By the time Yaoyorozu asked this question she had already produced a few extra masks to scout for any quirk like that of Aizawa sensei and for general use.
Right around this time Manadalay communicated telepathically, to all the students, to avoid any direct fights and concentrate on saving others. This was clear to Momo from the beginning, but Nanami was looking forward to taking on this potential Regenerating villain head-on!
As they got closer, they could see who they were up against. A Nomu heading straight in their direction! It didn't seem hostile, but Nanami and Momo assumed a defensive stance, nonetheless. Surprisingly, the Nomu didn't even look in their direction and just went on demolishing every tree in its path.
Just when Momo put her guard down, she was hit by a stray piece of wood that cracked her mask! While losing consciousness, Momo tried to signal towards the extra masks she had made but Nanami couldn't catch onto that. So, she figured the best way to get out of the situation was to go above it!
She snapped her fingers and flew up to around 30 feet off the ground. Though the air around the ground had also dispersed, Momo had inhaled quite a bit of it and was about to pass out. Before losing consciousness, she noticed something far off and produced a pair of binoculars and vaguely directed Nanami towards a cliff.
Nanami saw that Izuku was fighting someone at least 4 times his size and was getting visibly overwhelmed. Almost as if it was a reflex, Nanami flew off towards the cliff!
"Make sure you don't put him in a situation where he has to save you as well, attack from behind!", Kendo 2.0 suggested. A sense of panic was present in her voice, but she tried to supress it.
"Are you insane? You already have to take care of someone! She's knocked out, how can you even try help him!", Monoma 2.0 had enough, and he finally snapped! Somehow, he gained control of their flight for a while and made Nanami fly away for a bit.
"WHAT THE HELL! WE CAN'T JUST LEAVE HIM THERE!", this very act of choosing not to help someone went against her nature and to top that she didn't ever want to feel as if she wasn't in control of her own body!
"DON'T YOU REMEMBER WHAT MANDALAY TOLD US? PRIORITISE ON SAVING THE VULNERABLE ONES!"
"HE NEEDS MY HELP TOO-"
"HE CAN TAKE CARE OF HIMSEL-", before Monoma 2.0 could finish the sentence a ridiculously strong shockwave originating from the cliff, knocked Nanami off balance and she lost control of her wings!
In the few seconds before falling on the ground, she snapped her fingers to switch to Anxiety rush to guard her from the falls using the extra muscles as cushion. She managed to guard Yaoyorozu from getting hurt from the fall, but not herself.
"... Kachhan!", a loud telepathic message woke her up, and then she saw Momo vigorously trying to wake her up while bleeding from her head.
"What happen-"
"Don't worry about me, look at that Nomu walking away slowly, get this on it! I can't do it!", Momo cut off Nanami mid-sentence as Nanami's vision got less dizzy.
Momo was stuck under a tree and bleeding, maybe she was hit by another piece of wood or maybe Nanami didn't manage to guard her completely...
"What are you thinking about! Get her out of there!", Monoma 2.0 shouted at Nanami, snapping her out of her dizziness.
"Put that sensor on the Nomu! You can save me later!", Momo shouted as she dipped in and out of consciousness.
"Don't worry... We'll catch up to him", Nanami reassured Momo as she lifted the tree which had fallen on Momo. She picked up Momo on her back and started chasing the Nomu, who showed no signs of hurrying up.
As they caught up, Nanami tried to stick the device onto the Nomu but it wasn't made like that. Heck, it was even a miracle that Momo managed to make that device, whatever it was, while she was on the verge of fainting! Nanami knew how hard it was to effectively use Creation first-hand.
But all this was just running at the back of her head, as she scoured for ideas.
"It has Regeneration, right?", Tetsuya 2.0 seemed to have an idea, "Rip off a limb and place the tracker on the regrowing limb!"
"You, absolute genius!", Nanami celebrated as she activated Anxiety Rush again and tried to rip off a limb from the Nomu.
She couldn't even visibly scratch the Nomu...
