Will and Nico were in New Rome for the week. Nico needed to see Hazel about some family business and Will wanted to pick the medics brains about their healing techniques.
"Hey, sis." Nico said when he walked into the Principia.
"Nico! Hey!" Hazel said, running to give her brother a hug. "So, how's the planning going?"
Nico smiled slightly.
"All done. All that's left is to actually go through with it. I'm, um, a little nervous." Nico said, twisting his silver skull ring.
"Oh, please." Hazel said, waving her hand dismissively. "You don't have anything to worry about. Trust me. It's going to be perfect."
Nico blushed.
"I hope."
"Come. Let's grab some lunch. Where's Will?" Hazel asked as she hooked her arm through Nico's and led him out the door.
"Chatting with the healers." he said rolling his eyes.
"Ah. That doesn't surprise me." Hazel said laughing.
The two underworld kids and Frank went to lunch and caught each other up on what was new in their lives.
Frank had finally asked Hazel to marry him. Hazel said he stumbled and stuttered through the whole proposal because the big guy was so nervous. But of course, she said yes.
Frank blushed and ran his fingers through his military style hair as Hazel told the story.
"Yeah, I still need to work on my clumsiness." Frank said laughing nervously.
"It wasn't that bad." Hazel said putting a hand on Franks arm. "I'm just glad you went through with it."
Frank and Hazel smiled at each other and then turned their attention back to Nico.
Nico thought about Hazel and Franks relationship. They had been going out only a few months before Will and Nico had. Will asked Nico to marry him last year on their anniversary. Nico had accidentally said no…. But he got that little mistake all sorted out. Long story.
"Soo…" Hazel said, putting her head in her hands, propping her elbows on the table.
"So, what?" Nico asked, eating a grape.
"So, when is it happening?!" Hazel asked, smiling.
Nico nearly choked on a grape.
"Umm… that's actually why I'm here. I was hoping for this weekend?" Nico asked, wincing.
Hazel's smile grew bigger if that was even possible. Just looking at her grin made Nico's cheekbones hurt.
"YES!" Hazel shrieked. "Piper just so happens to be visiting this weekend. I'm sure we could get everything ready by Saturday. Go grab Will and we'll start the preparations. I can't wait."
She scurried off, followed closely by Frank, leaving Nico sitting at the table, stunned and trying to process what just happened.
Finally, he got his thoughts together and went off looking for Will.

*Five Days Later*

Nico was in the back room of the forum getting ready.
He stood in front of the full body mirror and nervously readjusted his sleeve cuffs and jacket. He grabbed a comb from the countertop and smoothed down his hair.
He looked in the mirror again and made a disgusted face. He ran his hand through his hair and ruffled it up, returning it to its natural state.
He sighed and put his hands one the counter, hanging his head and closing his eyes.
*Knock Knock*
Nico turned to the door.
"Who is it? Will if that's you, you better not come in." Nico said.
The door creaked open.
"It's just me." Hazel said. She looked at him and put her hand over her heart. "Oh, wow. You look so handsome!"
Nico blushed.
"Thanks." he said. "It's not too much?"
"No. It's perfect. Well… almost." Hazel said. She walked over and straightened Nico's golden bow tie.
"There. That's better." she said.
Nico twisted his silver ring and kept his eyes focused on his shoes.
Hazel smiled sympathetically and put her hand on his, stilling his hands.
"It will be fine. I promise." Hazel said kissing him on the cheek. "It's about time. Are you ready?"
Nico took one last look in the mirror.
He wore a black tux with a golden vest and golden bow tie. He smoothed down his jacket and took a deep breath.
"As ready as I can be." he said.
He followed Hazel to a pair of double doors. The instrumental version of the song "Soldier" by Before You Exit started playing.
The song made Nico's heart flutter. This is the song Will sang for him on their first date. Will didn't like to showcase it, but he had an amazing voice.
Hazel opened the doors and motioned for Nico to go in.
Everyone stood and turned toward the doors, their eyes on Nico.
He closed his eyes and drew in another deep breath.
He looked around and saw the whole room was packed. He twisted his skull ring as he started down the aisle.
He saw Percy smiling at him, brightly, with pride, Annabeth at his side. She was holding two thumbs up at him. He saw Leo in front of them with a smug look on his face. Calypso was next to him smiling. Kayla elbowed Austin in the ribs and motioned toward Nico with her head. Austin crossed his arms and smiled, satisfied. Reyna stood next to them, both her hands over her heart as she looked at him in awe. Frank was standing near the front, Hazel next to him smiling. Jason was standing next to them winking at Nico. Piper was at the front, waiting to officiate the wedding.
Then Nico's eyes landed on Will and the whole world seemed to be moving in slow motion.
Will wore a tux with a golden jacket, black vest, and a golden tie.
Nico's stomach jumped as he continued down the aisle.
Will's smile as Nico came down the aisle grew with every step.
He could tell Nico was trying his best not to freak out and shadow travel away because of the amount of people that were there.
When Nico finally made it to the front, Will held out his hands. Nico took them and blushed.
Will suppressed a chuckle.
"You ready to do this?" Will whispered.
Nico smiled slightly and nodded.
Will squeezed Nico's hands.
Piper's smile beamed. She cleared her throat.
"Thank you all for being here today on this very special occasion. These two demigods, Nico di Angelo and Will Solace are pledging their love for each other today, under the authority of my mother, Aphrodite." Piper said.
Everyone sat down.
"These two have gone through a lot to finally find each other. Nico had to face his fears. He had to face the god of love himself, Cupid. Nico had to admit who he was and how he felt. Doing so led him to the love of his life, Will. And I, for one, can't be happier to be here today to finally see these to get their well-deserved happy ending."
Will stared into Nico's dark brown eyes and got lost in the memories of their relationship. He was so lost in Nico's eyes that he barely remembered saying "I do."
Soon, it was time for the vows.
"I think you two have it from here. Will?" Piper said, taking a step back.
Will cleared his throat and took a deep breath.
"Nico di Angelo." he said, taking Nico's hand once more. "Since the day I met you, I knew there was something special about you. And no, I'm not talking about your powers. I've been drawn to you since the moment I met you. But you thought you didn't belong. So, you left. But when you came back, you were different. You had found yourself. You found that you do belong. I, for one, am so glad you finally came to terms with who you are. And I'm glad you finally mustered up the courage and asked me out five years ago."
Will brushed a stray strand of hair out of Nico's face, which was red, and cupped his chin.
"As I look back on our journey to this moment, I see how much we depend on each other. I see how far we've come. How the both of us have grown together. Ironically, without you, my world would be much darker and dull. You, son of Hades, are the reason I shine every day. I can't imagine my life without you Nico di Angelo."
Will put the black and silver ring with a Hades symbol on Nico's finger, kissed him on the forehead, and smiled.
Nico felt tears swelling in his eyes. He blinked them away.
His face burned from embarrassment from all the attention. He kept suppressing the urge to run out of the room. He kept his focus on Will. He drew in a shaky breath.
"Will Solace. I can barely remember the days that I felt like an outcast. I forgot what it's like to be filled with hatred and anger all the time, though I do still have my moments. These last few years with you has shown me that I can be happy. Though it still hurts to smile too much." Nico said, laughing slightly. "You taught me that love is worth fighting for. As long as I have you by my side, I'm prepared to take on anything life throws at us. With you, I can see my future. And it's bright. With you, my past, my pain, suffering, and heartache, it's all worth it. Everything that happened in my life led me to you. You're the reason I don't want to go to Hell every day."
Nico put Will's gold and silver ring, with a sun on it, on his finger.
Will squeezed Nico's hand as a single tear streamed down Nico's face.
Will's heart did a flip. He wiped Nico's tear away and then wiped his own eye before a tear could fall.
Piper continued with the ceremony.
"By the power vested in me, by the goddess Aphrodite…. And Hera, I guess," Piper said rolling her eyes, "I present to you Will and Nico di Angelo-Solace! You may kiss the groom."
Will stepped closer to Nico and cupped his face.
"I love you." he whispered.
Will pulled Nico close and kissed him.
Nico leaned into the kiss and kissed Will back. When they pulled away, Nico looked up at him and sighed.
"I love you, too, Will Solace." he whispered.
The room filled with cheers and claps.
Leo whistled. Jason shouted, "that's my boy!" Annabeth was wiping tears from her eyes. Reyna and Hazel were smiling and tearing up, as well.
Nico's face was still red and burning. He looked at Will and held his hand.
"Nico di Angelo-Solace?" Will said putting her hand on his chin in a thinking motion. "I like it. Sounds perfect."
"Shut up, Sunshine." Nico said.
Will laughed.
They left the building and headed outside to the forum for the reception.
The first song to play was "Bright" by Echosmith.
Will smiled and offered Nico his hand. Nico took it.
"Bring back any memories?" Will said as they danced together.
Nico smiled slightly.
"The night you proposed. We were on top of the Hades cabin after I rejected your original proposal." Nico grimaced. "After I said yes to the second one… You played this song on your ukulele."
Everyone joined them on the dance floor.
Will smiled brightly.
"That night doesn't compare to this one." Will said. "I'm so glad we finally did this."
Nico nodded.
"I'm proud of myself. I didn't run away." Nico said, shaking his head.
Will laughed.
"I was half expecting you to. But I'm glad you didn't. Today was perfect." Will said.
He pulled Nico closer and tightened his embrace as they swayed to the music.
Nico didn't protest. He wrapped his arms around Will's waist and buried his face in Will's chest. Will's chin rested on the top of Nico's head.
"I'm ready to see where the rest of our lives' takes us. Are you ready for the next chapter?" Will asked.
Nico nodded, not looking up.
Will got butterflies in his stomach as he pictured the rest of their life together. A bright smile plastered across his face.
"Where would we live? Here in Camp Jupiter?" Will asked.
Nico looked into Will's brilliant blue eyes.
"Let's think about that when the time comes, Solace. For now, let's just enjoy this moment." Nico said.
Will smiled and planted a kiss on his husband's lips.
"Alright, death boy, you win." Will said laughing.
After a couple more songs, Will and Nico slipped away. Will had another surprise waiting for his husband.
Will lead Nico to the lake's shoreline. There, Will had laid out a picnic blanket with a basket of food in the middle. Will's ukulele sat on the edge of the blanket, as well.
"Surprise!" Will said, spreading his arms.
"Will Solace. You didn't." Nico said, narrowing his eyes at the spread.
"Yep. Yes sir. Nico di Angelo-Solace… I have recreated our first date. You're welcome." Will said crossing his arms in satisfaction. He sat down on the blanket and waved Nico to come sit.
Nico beamed as he sat next to Will.
Will grabbed his ukulele and started playing and singing a song called "All About Us." By He is We.
Nico closed his eyes and enjoyed the mesmerizing sound of Will's voice.
After the song, Nico leaned against Will and watched the moon shimmer on the surface of the moon. Will's chin resting on Nico's head and his arms wrapped around Nico's waist.
"Don't mind the affection, I see." Will said sarcastically.
"Shut up." Nico grumbled.
Will smiled and tightened his grip around Nico's waist.
They sat there for hours watching the water and the stars. Eventually, Nico fell asleep in Will's arms. Will didn't mind.
The 'fearsome' ghost king was a peaceful sleeper. Will smiled at his husband as he slept.
Will held Nico and didn't plan on letting him go… ever. The son of Hades was his forever and always, now. For better or for worse. And nothing was ever going to change that, now.
