Roxanne smoothed down her dark purple dressrobes, she didn't think that this dress was appropriate for the wedding, but Rose said it was fine. Rose was the matron of honor in the wedding so she would know. Whenever Rose talked about the wedding, she would make a face. Roxanne never met the man that Ariadne was marrying, so she didn't much about him. She only knew that he was older than Ariadne by eight years.
"Don't you look beautiful," Hector kissed the back of her neck. "We could just stay here, and I could take you out of this dress," He placed both of his hands on her bare shoulders.
Roxanne took his hands off her shoulders and turned around. Hector was in a light grey dressrobes. "You look handsome. Your mother would be proud," Roxane kissed him on the cheek. "We can't stay here because it is your cousin wedding, and you have to be there." She moved around him and left the bedroom. Hector sighed and followed her.
They appeared in front of the Malfoy Manor gates. There was a line of people ready to get in. Hector pulled out his invitation and showed it to the guard at the gate. The guard nodded and let them in. They followed the path to where the service was going to take place. They saw the guests standing around waiting to be seated. Roxanne leaned over to Hector after looking at the guests. "Am I going to know anyone here?"
Hector laughed and nodded. "You know my family and me." Roxanne gave him a look. "I think some of your family will be here." Roxanne gave him another look. Hector gave her a half smile. "I think your aunt and uncle, and your cousins Lily and Hugo." Roxanne elbowed him in the side. Hector made a face that had Roxanne smiling. Hector narrowed his eyes at her before grabbing her arm and leading her to an usher to take them to their seat.
Roxanne saw that they were in the second row on the bride's side. She looked around the room and saw the groom's family on the other side. They seemed happy about the wedding. Roxanne saw her aunt and uncle entered. Everyone started to talk at once as they watched the Minister of Magic and her husband be taken to their seats. They were placed on the other side of Roxanne. Roxanne smiled at her aunt and uncle.
Hermione who was seated next to Roxanne, hugged her. "I see that Hector invited you," Roxanne nodded. Aunt Hermione asked how work was and how she was doing because it felt that she hasn't really seen her. Roxanne told her everything that was going on.
Roxanne looked around to see if she could find Hugo. She thought that he would be sitting next to his parents. "Where is Hugo?"
Hermione rolled eyes. "He's around here somewhere," Someone behind Hermione tapped her shoulder and she turned around to see who it was. Hermione smiled at them and started talking to them. Roxanne exchanged a smile with her uncle, before looking around at the people coming in.
She saw Hugo come in and make his way to bar. The bartender was still getting ready when Hugo ordered a drink. Roxanne saw him take a drink in one shot and asked for another. Roxanne shook her head because she was worried what he would do when the service started. She watched as he shook his head as an usher asked to take him to his seat. He took a seat at the bar. Roxanne was trying to figure out why he was here when he was in still in love with Ariadne.
"I hope your cousin isn't going to do something stupid," Hector leaned closer to her.
"Me too," Roxanne took one more glance at Hugo.
Hector turned and greeted his parents that were sitting next to them. Roxanne smiled at his parents. Daphne asked how she was doing, and Roxanne answered her. They talked and Roxanne watched as Hector's grandparents and Narcissa take a seat in the front.
Roxanne heard the music start. Everyone got quiet and watched as the wizard, the groom, the best man, and two groomsmen came up. Roxanne smiled when she saw that one of the groomsmen was Scorpius. Scorpius was shooting the groom looks, Roxanne let out a little laugh. Roxanne could tell that Scorpius didn't like the groom.
The music continued and two bridesmaids entered. One of the bridesmaids was Lily. Lily didn't look comfortable in her pink dressrobes. Roxanne could tell that Lily wanted to tear apart the dressrobes. She made her way to the altar. The matron of honor came next, and it was Rose. There was a fake smile on Rose's face. Roxanne had to wonder if Rose tried to talk Ariadne out of marrying this man. Roxanne took another look at the groom. She couldn't see what Ariadne saw in the man. Roxanne reached over and grabbed Hector's hand. Hector gave her hand a squeeze, Roxanne could feel the smile he was giving her.
Roxanne saw two children walk down the aisle. Roxanne smiled when she saw it was Jason and Bridget. Jason didn't look happy in his dressrobes, but he looked handsome. He kept giving his mother and father a look as he walked down the aisle holding a pillow with two rings on it. Bridget looked beautiful in her white dressrobes. There were flowers in her blond curly hair. There was a big smile on her face. Roxanne thought she might be skipping her way down the aisle as she threw out the flower petals from her basket. Jason stood by his father and Bridget stood by her mother.
The music changed and everyone stood up. Roxanne turned as bride came down the aisle with her parents. Ariadne had a big smile on her face. Draco looked like a proud father about to give his daughter away, but there is something missing from his eyes. He didn't like this wedding one bit. Astoria looked like she ready to cry. Roxanne wondered if it was because her little girl was getting married, or she didn't support this marriage.
When so many people didn't approve of the marriage how could you marry that person. It might be something that Malfoys do. They bite their tongues and say nothing. Roxanne knew that if it was the Weasley, they would tell anyone in their family that they didn't like the person and that they shouldn't marry that person. Roxanne made a note to talk to Rose later because she had a feeling that Rose wouldn't have kept her mouth shut.
Ariadne and her parents made their way to the front. "Who is the father that gives this woman away?" The wizard minister said.
"I do," Draco said solemnly. Draco sounded like pureblood father. The wizard minister nodded. Draco put Ariadne's hand in the groom's hand.
The rest of the service was very official. Roxanne wanted to vomit in her handbag if it was big enough. She looked around to the people around and saw that they didn't seem into as much as she was. Roxanne took a breath after the kiss that had no passion. She clapped along with everyone. Roxanne watched the happy couple leave the area.
Roxane stood and shook her head. Hector placed her hand on his arm, he led her to the bar where everyone was gathering. Hector handed her a glass of champagne. Roxanne drank it in one gulp. Hector took a sip of his champagne with a raised eyebrow.
"This wedding seemed too stature for me," Roxanne looked around to the guests before leaning closer to him. "The only people who seemed happy about this wedding are Ariadne and her new husband." Hector gave a small a smile. Roxanne put the empty glass on a passing tray and grabbed another one. Roxanne saw her cousin and made her way over to him.
"Why didn't you stop the wedding when the minister asked if there were any objection to the marriage?" Roxanne asked.
Before Hugo could answered his sister and Lily came up to them. "Yeah, I was hoping you would make a declaration of love and whisk her away to a little beach somewhere." Lily said. Rose nodded in agreement.
Hugo rolled his eyes. "She wanted to get married and children," He said in a soft voice. "She is happy with Dean," He turned to Rose. "Give my best to the bride and groom," He took one more shot before walking away. They watched as he exited the garden and make his way to the gate. They saw a pop and Hugo was gone.
Roxanne traded a look with her cousins, neither one had anything to say. Roxanne looked at Hector to see if he had anything to say, but there was a frown on his face. Before he could say anything, Aunt Hermione and Uncle Ron came over.
"Where did your brother go?" Aunt Hermione asked.
"I think he just left," Rose told her mother.
"Dear," Uncle Ron touched his wife's shoulder. "He is hurting, leave him be." Roxanne saw that her aunt wanted to go after her son. Aunt Hermione nodded before turning to Roxanne and Lily.
"It's good to see you both here," She hugged them each.
Lily smiled. "Well, I was in the wedding," She was looking over the guests and smiled. "I think that my date just arrived," Lily walked away. Everyone turned around and saw that it was Brett. He looked good in his dressrobes. He hugged Lily before kissing her.
Roxanne leaned closer to Rose. "How did it go when she told her parents about Brett?" Roxanne knew that Lily had told her family and his family, but she didn't have time to talk to Lily.
Rose smiled. "From what Lily told me, it went well Apparently, Aunt Ginny had a bet with her sisters-in-laws, and she won big from my mother," Rose said the last part a little louder so her mother could hear. Roxanne saw a half smile on her aunt's face. "Also, Grandmum is wondering when you are going to bring Hector to Sunday dinner." Roxanne moaned. Rose let out a little laugh. "I would bring him soon or you will have Grandmum at your door."
"I was wondering the same thing," Hector leaned closer to her. "I do miss your grandmother's cooking." Roxanne elbowed him in the stomach. Hector let out a puff and Roxanne smiled.
Lily made her way back with Brett. There was a smile on Brett's face. Roxanne watched as him as he looked at Lily. He was in love with Lily, and he couldn't hide it. Roxanne was happy for her cousin because when he wasn't looking, she looked at him with so much love. Scorpius made his way over to them after he had talked to a few people. He said hello to Brett before putting a hand on Rose's back. They stood there talking while the rows of chairs were changed in round tables.
"The bride and groom will be here in a few moments so take your seats," The band leader said. Hector led Roxanne to their seats. They were sitting with Hector's parents, grandparents, his aunt and uncle, and Scorpius and Ariadne's grandmother, Narcissa. Roxanne saw were Rose and Lily were sitting at the head table. Her aunt and uncle were sitting at a different table with people they seem to know. "Mr. and Mrs. Dean Randel."
Ariadne and Dean came around the corner holding hands. There was a big smile on Ariadne and somewhat conquering smile on Dean's face. Roxanne didn't know what to make of his smile. The newlyweds made their way to the head table and took their place in the center of the table. Roxanne took a breath before seeing a salad appear on her plate.
The meal passed with small talk about work and the weather, but no one said anything about the wedding that had taken place. Roxanne was glad when the meal was over. The bride and groom shared their first dance. After the first dance, Hector led Roxanne on the dance floor. They never had a problem with dancing in a crowd. Roxanne always felt at peace in Hector's arms. Roxanne shared a dance with Blaise, Scorpius, and her uncle. Roxanne hoped that they didn't have to be here all night because she couldn't get drunk enough for this wedding. She was glad that Hector kept bringing her drinks. The night finally ended when they sent the happy couple on their honeymoon.
"When we get married," Roxanne said as she took off her heals. "I hope our wedding in better than that."
Hector had thrown his dressrobes in the laundry before taking a seat next to Roxanne. "Really you see us married," Roxanne rolled her eyes at him. "We could go out and get married now."
Roxanne stood and gave him her back. "Oh, you are going to propose to me," Hector unzipped her back. Roxanne stepped out of the dressrobes. She leaned over him. "And it's going to be a surprise," She kissed him.
"I better get planning than," He pulled her in his lap and ran a hand over her body.
