Chapter 1: Before The Loudness.
Many years ago, in the beautiful Pepper Rock Valley, a wealthy family lived in the valley in Peace. They were a kind and generous family who were always willing to help those in need. Their family name was the Quentins, and they lived in a big manor on an estate near the village.
Edward Quentin worked as the manager of his automobile company, where he and his workers built fancy luxury cars to sell in his shops. Edward's wife had sadly passed on a few years before, but she had given birth to two sons. George, who had moved out and started a family, and Wilson, who was 10 years old and loved helping his dad and exploring the valley.
One day, Wilson was wandering the land when he noticed something sticking out of the ground. He crouched down to pull it out. When he did, he was surprised to find that it was a shiny aqua green gem! He tucked it under his arm and ran back home to show his dad. When he got there, he ran to his dad's study. "Father! Father! Look what I found!" He said excitedly. Edward was amazed. "I've never seen a diamond this color before! It must be one of a kind!" He exclaimed. "What should we do with it?" Asked Wilson. Edward thought for a moment. "Why don't we keep it as a family heirloom?" Suggested Edward. "Great idea!" Exclaimed Wilson. So the gem was placed on the mantle above the fireplace in the family room and Edward decided to call it "The Aqua Gem."
Edward knew it was important to decide who would inherit The Aqua Gem after he passed away. He went to his desk and started writing. Soon, he had written out a will for his descendants to read after he was gone. Feeling tired, he headed off to bed.
The next morning, when he woke up, he walked into the family room to find the window smashed! He looked at the mantle and saw The Aqua Gem was gone! In it's place, was a note that read:
"You have no idea what you've stumbled upon. This gem holds the key to discovering the biggest riches you will ever know. If you try to report this to the authorities, I"ll make sure you and your family pay the price. Your will and the gem are hidden where you'll never find it. -Samuel Birch.
The Birch family lived near the Quentin estate. They were always jealous and envious of the Quentin's wealth. The Birch's wanted to be the only ones with the most money. When Samuel heard of a legend about a mysterious gem that held the key to untold riches, he was determined to get his hands on it no matter the risk. He sent 3 men to steal the gem and the will to bring to him.
But Edward, determined not to be threatened by a thief, alerted the police. Samuel and 2 of the thieves were caught, but the 3rd had gotten away with the goods! Before getting caught, Samuel ordered him to get out of the valley and hide the gem and will somewhere safe and to draw out a map to mail to mail to his family. The thief stole a Bi-plane and flew to a small town called Royal Woods. He then buried the will and The Aqua Gem in a trunk on a plot of land. But as he headed into town to get supplies for the map, 2 officers placed him under arrest. The airfield in Pepper Rock Valley had informed the chief that a stolen plane was heading their way. Without the map, the Birch family had to search and hope to get lucky.
Years went by and the gem was never found. Royal Woods grew and more people began to move in, which meant more homes needed to be built. The spot where the trunk was buried became a front yard for a house that everyone in town came to know as The Loud House.
