One shots!
Aizawa decides class is quiet, too quiet. He mixes it up by doing saturday matches. Every saturday, Students are given times to be at the arena he's had set up. They aren't allowed to tell any others when their time slots are, as to also surprise them with who they're fighting with. Aizawa uses local criminals or civilians with unique quirks. He tends to lean to emitter quirks that throw students off their balance, and be much more well rounded fighters than usual. Most of them are offered money to fight the class of students. They also have a week beforehand of combat training to prepare. Aizawa will then throw the random students for that slot into the battle with no information on their opponent. They have 30 minutes maximum to subdue the opponent. "But? Criminals?" you may ask! "That's ridiculous, wouldn't they hurt the kids?"
INTRODUCING: KASE SACHIKO, AIZAWA's NEW TA
Kase Sachiko graduated at the bottom of his class, ranked 17/20. His mind reading quirk does not equal great combat skills, however Aizawa contacted his former student to help with these new trials. He reads the minds of the opponent of the student to make sure they're not about to seriously injure the students, and reports to aizawa how his students think through combat. He also serves as the narrator for most of these funky adventures.
