Chapter - 1

It was about 6p.m in the evening school was totally deserted and there was pin drop silence, all the children have gone home as it was already past the school timing. Ralph stayed for extra classes in order to practice football the practice was over and he goes into the locker room to change. He washed his face and changes after that while going out of the room through the corridor he notices that there was no one around and it was way too silent. While, walking out he had a strange feeling of his heart getting heavy and as if someone was behind him, he slowly turns around and he becomes paralyzed on seeing that there were four students who were smelling worse than garbage can, their face was totally pale ,crooked teeth, and they were standing in peculiar way when stared he was shocked to see that they were his best friends...Alice, Berth, Akshara , Laksh while he was looking at them in shock they screamed in a screeching voice and jumped on him.

Ralph is a young student about 5.9 feet tall well built structure with all the physical training he did he was a fair boy hair brushes neatly and blue eyes due to which girls hearts fluttered on him still well-mannered and a kind hearted guy who would do anything for his family and friends, he was on top of his class both in studies and sports.

Ralph wakes up shouting with sweat all over his face after a few seconds realizing it was it was a dream he relaxes down. His mom calls, 'Ralph wake up you are going to be late for school' he slowly rubs his eyes and comes out of his bed after washing his face he goes down to have his breakfast realizing that it was school night means all of the students will stay in the school for the whole night and have a lot of fun. He rushes to his room packing his bag, getting ready for the day. After, getting ready he rushes down and while leaving he notices the TV is on, watches the news flash saying about a disease that is spreading throughout china doctors, still searching for an antidote more than 1 lakh have been infected and are growing crazy ,'wow, some disease' and goes off .His mom comes out and shouts at him to be careful on the road while he was starting his bike, 'ok mom don't worry, love you see you later ' and goes off. His mom smiles at him and his dad comes out putting a hand on her shoulder smiling while Ralph leaves.

Chapter - 2

Riding his bike calls his best friends Berth and Laksh

'hey, Berth, Laksh..Have you guys started or not?'

'yeah bro! I started and will be on time, don't worry!' said Berth.

'yeah, me too bro' said Laksh.

'ok guys...what about Alice and Akshara are they coming or not ?'

'yeah ,we are coming as well.' they shouted .

'oh! you guys are together, cool!'

'yeah , we are.. now put your phone away idiot and drive properly or else I will beat you.' said Alice.

'ok , cool down, I will! don't get mad jeez '

' troublesome girls' he muttered under his breath.

Finally he reached the school his friends were waiting near the gate Berth was cool guy as tall as Ralph he was tan skinned he was constantly into medicines and other things it was his dream to be a doctor he was also in the band and played guitar he was wearing a yellow hoodie with blue jeans talking to his girlfriend Alice they were in a relationship for almost two years and were happy she was a good hearted beautiful girl she was average in studies and was about 5.4 feet tall slender she was wearing a skirt that reached her knees and black t-shirt . Beside them were Laksh and Akshara he was a little shy but a nice guy even though he would never back down about 5.7 feet tall a little thin but not much ,fairer skin then Ralph himself and was considered most handsome among the group if it wasn't for his shy nature he would have been more popular than Ralph among girls he was average in sports but a very good basketball player state level player and in the band with Berth played guitar he was wearing black shirt and jeans beside him was his girlfriend Akshara she was completely opposite of him bold and daring she was as tall as Alice they both were in relationship for about one year and quite happy she was tan skinned but quite a beauty herself she was wearing short jeans and a crop top .

' hey guys' he greeted they greeted him back and went into the school soon their teacher Mr. Mukesh came into the class.

'good morning students!'

'good morning sir! '

' I know what you guys are thinking... don't worry... today there won't be any classes , we are going to have some fun today.'

'wohooooo!' whistling and shouting everyone.

' today, we will be having football match between the four classes for boys and for girls there will be a volleyball match. After the matches, we will be having lunch break, then after that you guys can have your fun for about 2 to 3 hours, then two movies will be played and at last the most fun part bon fire. ' everyone shouted with joy.

The activities started and soon the fun began. Ralph and his class won the football match and girls weren't behind either, they won the volleyball match. They were having their lunch sitting in the class. when Laksh took out his phone and was checking out the newsfeed ' guys, you know about this disease in china , its spreading fast and people are going crazy it seems. '

' yeah, even i saw about it in the news when I took off ' said Ralph.

' About one lakh were infected right?' asked Berth .

' yeah, that was yesterday night. In the afternoon, about fifty thousand more were confirmed it seems and thousand cases were confirmed in India as well. ' said Laksh.

' what the hell!, in such a short time!'

'yeah' they were tensed and had their lunch. While having their lunch, Laksh suddenly kissed Akshara on her cheek... On seeing that one of the boys in the class named Daksh passed on a vulgar comment.' look guys, the romance has started and we will get to see something more sooner I guess!' his group laughed out loud, which pissed Laksh a lot and he almost took off to take on a fight but Akshara stopped him by holding his hand, on seeing that Laksh backed off… That guy didn't stop and passed on another comment ' today's night is going to be awesome I guess ' this time everyone knew he had crossed the line and no one laughed just when Laksh was going to get up a groan came ' leave me, you idiot!'

it was Ralph he was holding Daksh throat and had him pinned him on the wall when one of his friends tried to come in the way, Ralph kicked him in the stomach and he fell on the floor crying with pain seeing that no one else came near him. Holding his throat, Ralph said, ' If you pass on another comment on my friends, I will punch you in the face next time. Not only her, if I see you passing a comment on any girl or a couple you will be in trouble buddy, have some respect ',saying that he left his throat and daksh sat down coughing his guts out , Ralph chilled out, went and sat on his place as if nothing had happened while others were looking at him , 'what are you guys looking at? eat! will ya?', and he started eating. This small incident did show how much Ralph loved his friends and never bothered about them being in a relation. He not only won his friends heart but also every girl's heart in the class many proposed him or crushed on him but he was never interested in all of it , saying that he is happy as he is .

Chapter - 3

The students had free time in the afternoon. Ralph and his friends spent the evening talking while the couples had their private time as well and this time no one dared to even look at them. It was about 5 p.m. To everyone's surprise, the school had setup an open theatre in the played the movie. Surprisingly, it was Avengers:endgame. It was totally unexpected, everyone was totally into the movie and were having fun. As we know, it is all time teenage favorite movie. Soon, the movie was over by 8 p.m , the dinner was prepared it was a barbecue no doubt teachers didn't leave a chance for their students to enjoy each and every moment on this day. The dinner was over by 10 everyone had eaten a lot , at last the most awaited event was here bonfire the sticks were soon set up and the fire was lit up everyone decided to sing and dance alongside the bonfire , everyone insisted Berth and Laksh to play guitar as they both were in the band and they were really good in it they played it beautifully and everyone admired them a lot when Berth came and sat next to Alice after the play she slowly moved closer to him and said ' everyday you give me a reason to fall in with you ' Berth's face reddened and he just held her hand, Later while teachers were gone students formed groups and played truth or dare along with Ralph and his group there were four more students that was Sneha , Sumire , Ron , Bharat it was Sneha chance she chose dare this time and and Sumire decided to use this chance she asked her to dance with any boy she likes to on a romantic song hesitantly she got up looking at everyone around ,Ralph was a little tensed knowing of her obvious crush on him and as he thought she moved towards him and extended her hand not wanting to be rude he took her hand and smiled , all her nervousness went off because of his smile and she danced with him without being shy , at this point everyone was looking at the couple dancing, while they both were lost in the moment ,Sneha finally realized it was too long and she motioned him to stop when they stopped to see that whole school was watching them and smiling soon everyone clapped and cheered for them, as he took his place near Akshara and Alice who were grinning like idiots before they could tease him 'shut up!' he said and they both started laughing . Soon the bonfire was over and everyone was sent to the hall of the school everyone arranged their beds in the hall boys were in the hall and girls in tennis court room , Ralph, Berth, Laksh were sleeping in a row Ralph was just staring at the roof and said ' it was an amazing day wasn't it ' berth turned towards him ' sure was , what an day I hope we can be like this together always and have fun like this'

' but. it might not be possible so let's enjoy the present who know what lies ahead in our future ' said Laksh ' I am sure it will be something good ' said Ralph . Suddenly a notification popped up in Ralphs phone when he opened it he was shocked seeing his face Berth asked ' what happened?'

' the virus that hit china is spreading fast in India as well it seems '

' some virus! man this shit is spreading really fast ' said Laksh 'yeah!' said Ralph in a tensed tone' and slept. Ralph was trying to sleep but was rolling on his bed but his insomnia seemed to kick in , finally lying down and staring at the roof suddenly his thoughts drifter off towards Sneha she was wearing a skirt today that reached down her knees and red crop top which he thought was quite cute she was a fair skinned girl shy but smart about 5.4 feet tall she was in the volleyball team , he came to know about her crush on him about six months ago when Akshara told him it was nothing new to him as many had it on him but he started noticing that during class and lunch breaks she would occasionally steal glances off him he had never thought about any girl until and didn't understand why she was special maybe because of dance he realized later that he was literally lost in it he was staring at her face at her smile which was genuine one a happy carefree he knew that she loved the dance he did to ' maybe i should give her a chance?' he thought and drifter off to sleep.

cHAPTER - 4

It was about 2 a.m in the morning all the students and teachers were sleeping Ralph woke up suddenly because of the same dream he had last night sweating , breathing heavily and was staring at the roof when he noticed that , one of the boys went out of the hall quietly he thought ' must be going to the washroom' and tried to sleep again while, he was rolling here and there struggling to sleep he saw another boy going out it was dark enough that he could hardly who it was and again continued his struggle to sleep. About, an hour had passed and he noticed that both of the students had not yet returned wondering what had happened even he woke up to check when he was standing up Berth held his hand suddenly rubbing his eye ' going to washroom? I am coming to' before he could reply even Laksh woke up saying he would come as well since they were sleepy he didn't tell them the reason that why he woke up and let them tag along three of them slowly sneaked out of their beds and came to the corridor washroom was a little bit far from the hall . Ralph was a little tensed remembering his dream as it had occurred in the same place. They were walking through the corridor silently when Ralph felt as if he heard something and stopped suddenly ' what happened ?' asked Laksh Ralph turned around and saw here and there ' nothing , let's go ' in a weird tone they both saw each other shrugged it off and continued walking it was dark and silent everywhere when suddenly a thud sound came as if something fell this time three of them almost jumped 'you hear that' Ralph turned around 'yeah' both said they froze there for a bit ' let's go' said Laksh and they headed on to the washroom while they were moving they saw someone's shadow ahead of them moving across the corridor they hesitated a bit and hurried up. They turned right in the corridor where the boys washroom was there it was dark and the lights were off they entered the washroom and turned the flash on, in their phones while Laksh was walking he tripped on something and fell down ' you ok?' asked Berth ' yeah I'm fine something is here!' he slowly moved the flash towards it he shouted ' what the!' and sweat drove over his face slowly Ralph turned around ' it's daksh! what happened to him ?' three of them were completely shocked he was covered in blood totally and there bite marks all over his body and they could see his stomach open everyone were controlling their urge to throw up as if someone tried to eat him alive Berth rushed to him and checked his pulses ' he ...he is dead guys'

Ralph moved back in disbelief and he fell as well Berth turned the flash towards him ' oh my god ' when turned to see what he tripped on he was petrified it was Akshar he was Daksh best friend he was in a worse condition than Daksh his hands and legs have been completely torn of his body and the whole floor was flooding with blood at this point both Berth and Laksh throwed up .Ralph cringed away from him he was so shocked and his face was struck in horror it was first time when they saw Ralph like that he was not surprised himself who wouldn't be after seeing such a scene .

Chapter - 5

The three of them were standing and staring at the site of horror in total disbelief .While, they were at it suddenly an indistinct and horrifying groan came from the corridor which startled the three of them and brought them out of their frozen state they immediately rushed to the corridor the three of them were breathing heavily and were sweating all over they moved silently from where that horrible sound came from , they were walking ahead with their flash on again the groan came it was so loud this time that they felt whatever it is it much right in front of them, slowly they moved up their flash someone was standing there it was some man when they moved the flash on his face they were almost shocked to death his teeth were crooked , face was pale, patches all over the body, no hair on the head , and a disgusting thing oozing out of his mouth and his organs were falling out of his body . While they , stood there watching the man he suddenly charged towards them Ralph and Berth moved away but Laksh was still standing there they called him out but he didn't flinch even a little bit when the man was about to attack Ralph and Berth kicked him in the stomach and the man fell back but he woke up again ,as if nothing happened he charged on them again Ralph saw a iron rod on the floor he took the rod and pierced it through the man's body he removed it again and hit him on the face and the man didn't stand again three of them ran away from man as long as he was down. They ran to the end of the corridor and stopped they sat on the floor trying to catch their breath, still horror struck. While they were trying to adjust to the situation suddenly an indistinct screams came it was from the tennis court, where all girls were sleeping Ralph stood up ' oh ,no Alice , Akshara come on guys let's go' and 'sneha' .They hurried to the tennis court as they were going near screaming was growing more and more they were outside the court they opened the door hesitatingly there as they opened the door slowly they witnessed a sight of horror girls were running all around here and there they were running away from same kind of creatures that they saw earlier many girls were bitten badly some were struggling for their life and some were running a girl suddenly shouted ' Ralph, Berth , Laksh help ! ' they turned towards the plea it was Alice and Akshara they were cornered by two of those things without wasting a second three of them rushed towards them Ralph kicked a man from the side and he fell while Laksh and Berth took the tennis rackets and smashed it on the other guys face they both held the girls hand and ran while running they saw that almost every girl had been bitten or killed they didn't stand a chance of saving others so they didn't stop and rushed out of the court room Ralph was thinking 'i hope sneha is fine ,damn it i should have stayed and searched for her' gritting his teeth he ran . The five of them were right outside the hall were all of the boys were sleeping they opened the door without making a noise. Everything, was silent it was way too silent Ralph turned the lights on he was struck with horror and gulped down his throat and sweat all over his face the room was filled those things and some of the own students were turned into those as well . Everyone was so shocked they couldn't move an inch and didn't say a word there was blood over those things were going to charge on them when Akshara and Alice pulled the three of them out and locked the door , they were banging the door ' the door won't hold long , let's go ' said Alice 'yes' said Ralph in low tone and they headed towards the parking lot where they had their bikes and could run away they ran as fast as they could and finally reached the entrance of the school . They rushed towards their bikes and rode on it when Ralph was about to start the engine a girl shouted everyone turned to the entrance of the door on seeing this Ralph smiled and a relief spread across his face he immediately ran towards her it was their classmate Sneha she was running out of the entrance behind her there were two of those creatures she was running as fast she could when she tripped and fell down the steps and she tried to get up but it was too late those things were right in front of her they were moving towards her when suddenly those creatures were attacked it was Ralph he had a metal rod in his hand and he smashed it on one of their face he fell down when the other came upon him he jumped and kicked it on the chest and the fell as well . Wasting, no more time he held Sneha hand and tried to run but she couldn't stand her leg was injured so he picked her up in bridal style and ran to his bike he settled her on the back of his bike and started the engine they went out of the school gate in full speed.

chapter - 6

Ralph and the others were driving, they all were still in shock with the recent experience they had they were still in the highway and were heading to the city. ' guys , i think i know the reason for all of this ' said Laksh ' what is it?' asked Berth ' It is the disease that spread in china , first I thought it was all made up but now, I believe it there was news that people who were infected would die but after death they would still move become monstrous and tried to eat others or in simple words you can tell that they would turn into what we say as zombies!' it was really hard for anyone to believe it because zombies always were in games, stories and totally fictional but after the whole school incident they had to believe it.' But, I thought you said only a few cases were seen in India yet and had not spread much ' said Berth ' yeah even I thought the same but maybe it got out of hand and they couldn't control it after it is not an easy thing to stop people from eating each other alive' they all finally reached the city it was about 3 .30 am and it was still dark they slowly drove in and it was unusually too dark and silent ' guys turn off the headlights everyone now!' shouted Ralph ' If those zombies are in the city as well we would put on attention ' they went on ' guys we all will head back home Berth take Alice and be together call me after going home same goes for you Laksh and Akshara ' Sneha came asked ' umm , what about me ? ' in crackling voice ' did you really think we would live you alone ? don't worry I will take you home safely and will be with till you meet your parents' he conveyed her with a smile ' thanks..' . 'Ok fine then it's decided let's go , be in touch everyone' .

chapter - 7

Ralph and Sneha were going on his bike they were going to Ralph house first as it was closer then hers they as they were on their way 'thanks for saving my life back

then even though you knew you could have died you saved me I owe you '

' no sweat couldn't save anyone else had a chance of saving how could I leave you there to die if wouldn't have saved you I would have regretted it my whole life and you are my friend so please don't say thanks ' she smiled and hugged him from back ' so you still have a crush on me? '

' how in the world did you know?' he laughed

' I have my sources '

' Akshara told you right,that idiot she can't keep a word in her stomach'

' yeah'

' well everyone is not as lucky as I am who gets to sit behind her crush on his bike and hug him like this, and dance '

' you don't waste a breath do you, but no one is left now ' he said in a low voice 'yeah' and she started weeping holding him tightly

' my best friends were killed in front of my eyes and I couldn't do a thing to save them I ran away like a coward while you guys didn't leave each other and saved yourselves by having each other's back you guys are true friends for sure'

' don't worry we are there for you we will protect, you are my responsibility from now on'

'thanks a lot '

'no thanks between friends, right?'

'right' she said smiling and wiped her tears finally they reached Ralphs home. Shocked was as understatement as she saw his house it was Two floored beautiful bungalow she heard that he was rich but didn't expect this

'welcome to my house once we check things out here I will take you home safely, I just hope they are fine' he said in a low tone he hesitated to walk in when Sneha came and kept her hand on his shoulder ' let's go'. They walked in he was outside the front door he was about to ring the bell when he noticed that the door was open he opened the door and they went in as he slowly went in noticed that everything was messed up everything was broken and shattered into pieces his heart started pounding very fast he ran around the house ' mom, dad! where are you?' Sneha saw him running around and searching for them desperately and noticed that he was slowly breaking down with fear when he entered into the bedroom someone suddenly jumped on him and trying to bite him he struggled a lot and kicked him on the stomach he fell on the floor Ralph immediately stood up kicked him on the face again and he fell on the floor .Ralph wasn't able to see in the dark and he turned on the light ,when he saw who it was he was shocked it was a zombie and it was none other than his father he didn't move an inch and just froze his father stood up and rushed on him he was about to attack him that suddenly he fell back again it was Sneha holding a trash can she smacked the zombie on face 'Ralph snap out of it we need to run Ralph!' she shouted but none of her screaming was able to penetrate the shocked boy she stood there trying to keep the zombie away when suddenly another zombie came and attacked her and fell on her she was struggling it was Ralphs mother and tears started to come down from his eyes Sneha was struggling a lot when his father jumped on her as well 'Ralph help!' she shouted in agony when they were about to bite her Ralph kicked them and they fell he was finally in his senses he helped Sneha to get up ' stand behind !'

' but..'

' just do as I say ' he took the can and hit them hard that they fell down his father stood up again and punched him hard that he fell back they we about to jump on him when he took the knife that was near him and drove it through his heart and his father fell down . Now, his mother stood up and charged towards him he took the knife again and drove it through his mothers heart as well but she didn't stop so he kept on piercing through her heart and finally she fell down as well but they would get up again in no time , he held Sneha's hand ran out of the house .They both went off in full speed on his bike Sneha was worried about him he didn't say a word since they came out neither did he cry ' you ok Ralph?' she asked finally ' it's not every day that you get to see your parents as monster or kill them with your own hands so trying to adjust' she couldn't reply she just stayed quiet. 'Let's go to your home now ' Sneha's heart started pounding really fast with fear 'will they be ok?' Ralph couldn't reply her he himself was very confused right now and was not sure what to do 'let's just hope for the best' he said 'yeah' it was about 4 am it was still dark. Sneha's house was not very far from his only about only about 15 minutes they reached there in no time it was an apartment 'which floor?'

' first floor'

'let's go' she hesitated to go Ralph noticed her fear he held her hand and went in she felt a little bit relieved but still was worried they climbed up the stairs cautiously Sneha grasped his hand with fear they moved on and finally were at the entrance of her house she pressed the many times but no one opened it then they noticed that the door was open ' oh no!' she said at the verge of tears they slowly went into the house just like in Ralphs house everything was scattered and it was all messed up they slowly went into the dining room and were stunned two people a man and a women were eating a human alive Sneha almost shouted but Ralph closed her mouth immediately . They hid there and stalled them when both of them turned around Sneha was shocked it was her mom and dad they turned into zombies , with the look on her face Ralph figured out they were her mom and dad she was in tears and didn't say a word he dragged her out as quietly as he could in order to stay out of trouble finally they reached his bike he made her sit on the bike and they finally made it out. They were on the move they both were silent Sneha was crying openly holding Ralph as tightly for as she could and let everything out finally breaking the silence 'what will we do now? Where are we going?' she asked choking

' I will call the others and check they are fine or not , if fine we will go to their house else we have to get out of this city and find a safe place looking at the situation I don't think so!' saying it lowly he drove fast 'mom dad i'm sorry , i couldn't save you i will always love you guys please watch over me and guide me to protect my friends' he thought with determination.

chapter - 8

Ralph finally stopped the bike near a park it was about 5a.m in the morning and they noticed that New Delhi was deserted and everything was total mess all the shops were looted and destroyed they didn't notice in the dark but everything was visible now all the houses were deserted it was totally a ghost town now. Ralph took out his phone ' thank god network is there yet' he called Berth 'Berth, is everything all right? ... oh I see the same here, yeah even hers too , hmm.. yeah ok , I am at the park tell Laksh as well , ok be careful ' with a really sad face he sat down on a bench 'what happened?'

' the same happened with others too all are gone !' Sneha came and sat beside him ' Ralph you are the toughest among us you must stay strong everyone depends on you , don't worry if you stumble I will be there for you ' she said with a smile Ralph thought ' how could she be so strong she just lost her parents even I didn't overcome it yet I guess girls are strong after all' he said ' thanks Sneha ' they were talking on like that when someone called them out ' Raplh!' it was berth and the others as well . They both rushed toward them all of them were really down with a dull face he could see the tear marks on Akshara and Alice face they didn't say a word he walked to them and just hugged both of them ' Don't worry, I will protect you with my life '

Akshara said ' mom and dad are gone! I can't even imagine the fact of something happening to you don't say that I know you will protect us but it won't be of any use if it costs your life you must always stay with us' he smiled ' I will always be with you don't worry, I promise!' they both smiled and hugged him harder. They all sat on the bench Berth asked ' so what are we going to do now?' Ralph said ' First we must gather resources food, fuel and a car too bikes are not safe I think we must get out of the city too with this population we don't know how many have turned and what is the situation it's not safe here !'

' yeah but where will we go?' Ralph thought for sometime' I am not sure about this but we have a beach house near Surat there is a lot of stock piled up there it's near the sea and far from the populated area it should be safe to but it's way too far '

' It will be perfect far from the populated area meaning totally safe and near the sea it is perfect ' said Laksh ' what do you think guys' asked Berth ' I am fine until it is safe plus we don't have any other place to go to ' said Alice everyone agreed to the idea.' Ok fine then decided we will do to Surat but first we need to gather our stuff we can't just go on like that it will be a long journey Alice and Berth you both will go and search for a car bikes won't be safe anymore you guys can go to my home get our car sorry I am asking you but I don't want to go there anymore '

'It's fine Ralph we will go and get it' said Berth 'Laksh and Akshara you both will gather food and water go to the supermarket we won't need money everything is trashed so don't worry about that ,while me and Sneha will go and get tents , maps I don't know how long the phones will work and I know a gun shop will get some guns to we will need it, ok with everyone?'

'yeah!' said everyone. 'you guys be careful all right!, now it is about 8 a.m we will meet here only at 3p.m ' said Ralph ' you too take care' said Alice . They went off Berth and Alice were on their way to Ralphs house ' I never saw Ralph so vulnerable ' said Alice worryingly ' yeah, he is the toughest among us both mentally and physically, but still he lost his mom and dad what do you expect and we don't even know what happened there at his house '

'yeah, you are right, still I always see him like my big brother and I can't see him like this whatever it takes I will get him out of this phase '

' yeah about that, I think you should leave it to Sneha this time' he said with a smile ' really you think so to , I thought the same to '

' I hope everything works out perfectly between them we need someone to depend at a time like this '

'yeah, you are right' she said with a cheerful smile finally they reached Ralphs house. We are here ' be careful, keys must be inside which means aunty and uncle will be there to let's go don't let your guard down '

'ok!' Berth took a iron rod that was nearby and went in they both went together totally alert when they entered the dining room they say blood spilled all over as they went in the bedroom they were shocked it was Ralphs mom and dad they were on the floor covered with blood but still moving a little' oh my god , I can't believe he did this' said Alice

'he must have done it to protect Sneha'

'yeah you are right now I know why he was so shattered stabbing your own mom and dad oh my god we can't even think what he must have gone through !'

' yeah you are right get the keys let's get out of here I can't stand this anymore' said Alice .

With Akshara and Laksh they were heading towards the supermarket to gather food and water they were on their bike Akshara suddenly hugged him tightly 'what happened?'

'I am going to miss mom and dad and this city ' she said crying 'me too, I will protect you no matter what happens and remember now these guys are our family we must protect each other always'

'I still can't believe that we all were having a normal life till last night now we are running for our lives ,I still feel like mom will wake me up and shout at me for being late to school ' Laksh didn't reply and just gave a sad smile. Finally, they reached the supermarket and went inside it was all messed up the whole store was looted but there was plenty enough for them they took a trolley and started gathering stuff while they were going two guys came and took out knives ' what do you want?, there is plenty enough for everyone , you know' one of the the bigger guys came forward and said ' no we want her' he said pointing towards Akshara 'get lost , you bastard!' said Laksh and started walking one of the men held his hand tightly ' I won't leave that girl ' Laksh held his hand and kicked him in the groin he screamed with pain and fell down the other one charged Laksh took the knife of the other guy and stabbed him in the leg he fell down as well holding his leg ' don't you dare mess with her this time I am leaving you but next time you won't be alive ' Akshara never saw him so serious she smiled at him in a proud way and they both went off .' How the hell are we supposed to take all of this stuff ' said Akshara 'huhh!, let' call Berth and tell him to come here and pick us up'. Soon Berth came and pick them up it was an jeep wrangler unlimited the fact that Ralph was rich always came in handy to them after that they went to the park where Ralph and Sneha were waiting and picked them up they had a lot of stuff two tents, guns maps and everything that was needed for a long trip now they were ready to go.

Chapter - 9

They were in the Chor bazar of Delhi under normal circumstances it would have a lot of traffic and filled with criminals and people but now it was deserted they slowly went through the streets they had to reach the highway which was about one hour from their current location they decided that they would drive till evening 5 p.m. only and stop after that as it would be dangerous later on .They went through the streets Ralph bought each of them a handgun and enough bullets they had it in their hands they were silent and tensed because the streets were small and who knows what will jump out at them from those small streets among them only Ralph knew how to use a gun because his dad was a shooting champion and so his dad had passed his knowledge to him as well despite Ralphs ten minutes tutorial it was tough for everyone to even hold a gun. Laksh noticed that Ralph was thinking something ' what are you thinking Ralph?'

'I was thinking that we didn't encounter even one zombie in the day light, I think they come out only at night '

' yeah, now that you mentioned it could be true even we didn't notice any of the zombies till now since morning' .

' I am not sure if this theory is right or wrong maybe they can't come out in the day light' said Ralph

'yeah, maybe you are right' said Laksh they were now almost at the outskirts of the city where it was about 6p.m and it was getting dark they decided to stop they were going looking around for a safe place spend the night Alice said 'how about that hotel '

'no, a hotel will be too big for us to keep an eye out and we won't realize when we might get cornered ' said Ralph

' Ralph how about that coffee shop ?'

' yeah I guess that would be fine it has two floors it is perfect we can park the car at the back exit if we have to run ok let's go'

they parked the car at back of the coffee shop ' Berth come with me Laksh you stay we will check it out and call you guys in'

they both went into the shop with their guns Ralph sighed Berth to check this floor and he will check the second floor Ralph went to the second floor grasping his gun tightly he checked the floor thoroughly and went down Berth said ok to. Then they called others in they decided that two of them will keep an eye out through the window on second floor changing turns and others will sleep in the first floor so that it would be easy for them to make an exit in danger since it was not completely dark yet they ate their food as they were in a coffee shop a lot of snacks were there so they didn't use their source , after eating they talked for some time while they were talking Ralph stood up ' what happened Ralph?' asked Laksh ' nothing I am going up will keep an eye out '

' it is not dark yet take rest for sometime don't push yourself so much' said Akshara

' it is fine I just need some time alone, you guys take rest ' saying that he went up everyone was silent seeing Ralph like this a guy so cheerful, strong , laughing and independent had change so much so silent ,lonely and cold Alice said ' I am worried about him will he be alright Berth?'

' let's just leave him alone for now it will be better this way '

' yeah I guess so ' they ate their food and sat there about one hour had passed Ralph didn't come down Akshara was worried she was about to go up that Laksh stopped her ' but Laksh I am worried I can't sit here like this someone must go up'

'yeah I know that that is why I am stopping you let Sneha go ' he said

' me?'

' you were there with him all this time so it is obvious that no one will be able to understand him like you do now'

' yeah you are right Laksh' said Akshara agreeing with him. So Sneha went she was tensed that will she able to do it or not but she had to in order for their survival if Ralph stays depressed like this it would put everyone's life in danger she kept herself together and went up Ralph was sitting near the window she went to him he didn't notice her when she went up close she saw that he was crying tears were freely flowing she kept her hand on his shoulder ' Raplh!' he turned towards her his expression didn't flinch even a little bit he was just staring at her into her eyes Sneha could clearly see in his eyes that used to blue full of depth now completely void and filled with sorrow that he was completely broken she couldn't hold herself back seeing him so broke she close to him and hugged him tightly Ralph didn't hesitate this time and hugged her back and cried out ' just let it all come out Ralph else it will destroy you from inside just let it all out' he cried in agony sobbingly ' why we have to go through this , I always wanted to be together with you guys I always wished for it but not like this why did this has to happen Sneha why , what is our fault ?, you know the moment I stabbed my parents my life ended there for me it was all over for me I am just a walking dead body now '

'no you must live not just your body but by your soul we need you Ralph we won't make it without you and you need us we are here for you we are your family you must come out of this cry just cry and bring it all out !' he just sat there hugging her and thinking of what she said but he was in no position to talk anymore he just sat there and kept crying ... everyone was moved to see him like that they could hear him in the ground floor they never saw him like that crying and so broken everyone of them cried in the past in front of him taking their problems to him but he never cried like this before. Ralph never realized when he dozed off on Sneha's laps she didn't disturb him and let him sleep like that seeing him in that situation made her feel like crying but at the same time when she saw him sleeping like that made her fall in love with him again she had a crush on him but she never realized that she has totally fallen for him she reached his head and tousled his hair. While she staring at him like that Berth and Laksh came up and grinned at them Berth said ' how is he?'

' he will be fine ' she said smiling ' you both look cute together ' said Laksh , Sneha blushed and smiled ' me and Laksh will keep an eye out now you guys take some rest ' they both lifted Ralph laid him on the ground floor with Alice, Akshara 'wow this is the first time this happened ' said Laksh ' what?' asked Sneha 'you see he is always so conscious that even if someone is near him while he is sleeping he wakes up but now we brought him down and he didn't even flinch ' said Berth . They both went up to keep an eye out while others were resting downstairs Sneha went near him lifted his head and laid on her laps to make him more comfortable ' my my look at you both 'said Alice . Akshara brought a blanket and laid it on him ' my brother is sleeping like a baby ' she said with a smile on her face and they all slept.

chapter-10

It was about 3a.m in the morning Ralph woke up when he opened his eyes he froze seeing that he was sleeping on Sneha's laps she was sleeping peacefully it was dark but he could see her face in the moonlight for the first time he stared at her and thought that she was pretty beautiful he slowly woke up without making a sound he took his blanket and covered her he saw her face and grinned he saw that Alice and Akshara were sleeping nearby as well then he remembered about last night and what had Sneha said remembering that he swore to himself to protect them at all cost ' thank you Sneha ' he said and kissed her on forehead went upstairs. Laksh and Berth were talking ' our hero is up finally ' said Laksh ' What's up ? cry baby' said Berth 'oh shut up Berth!' and the three of them started laughing ' just kidding you fine now buddy?' asked Berth ' yeah, never felt better'

' good ' said Laksh ' anything unusual ' asked Ralph ' no not that much there are two of them near that shop ahead but they didn't notice us , it is weird though' said Berth

'why?'

' I mean there was only one of them earlier and then another joined and they are standing there ever since as if though they are waiting'

' ohh , that is weird'

' what should we do Ralph?'

'let's wait and watch for now'

'ok' and they waited there . 'So what do you think about Sneha you both really seem to have a thing' Ralph blushed a little bit 'well she is a really nice girl , I never imagined I would cry in front of her like that but it didn't feel weird at all , you know!'

' ohh nicee' said Laksh teasingly ' well let's see how it turns out' said Ralph ' so you like her after all finally our hero found her girl ' said Laksh Ralph smiled which showed his interest towards her. ' Hey Laksh ,give me those binoculars '

'here take it' he saw out and had a tensed look ' what is it Ralph?' asked Laksh

' shit !, we let our guard down they are not just near the shop there three of them near that stationary shop on our left and four more on our right as well'

' what!'

' look! ' he gave him the binoculars to see 'oh shit! you are right'

' but that is weird for some brainless zombies '

' we don't have the time to think about it we need to get out of here now' said Ralph when they were about to head down Akshara shouted ' ahhh!' they rushed down to see what happened and they were shocked there were three zombies that came from the exit Berth took his gun out but Ralph stopped him ' no don't we will put on too much attention because of that noise open that bag ' Akshara gave them the bag and he opened it there were three swords (machete) ' wow you sure came prepared bro !'

' yeah , I figured that if guns won't work then cutting them will work for sure' three of them charged towards them and zombies attacked them too but because of the swords they didn't stand a chance and were cut down ' Let's go hurry up guys ' said Laksh while they were about to go that many more came from the front door 'oh shit!, three of you go and get the car ready we will stop them go ' said Ralph there were about fifteen of them they had no choice they out their guns and started shooting them but it was useless they wouldn't go down one of the bullets hit their head and it fell down 'guys aim for the head ' said Laksh and they started shooting at the head they fell down one by one when they thought it was over they stood up again and started charging towards them they ran towards the back door and closed it ' this won't hold for much long ' and they started banging on the door suddenly car came Alice was on the wheel they swung into the car and went off in full speed three of them were panting for breath. 'Bloody hell that was a close one ' said Laksh 'yeah, way to close for comfort' said Berth ' so where are we going now?'asked Alice ' well in order to go to Surat first we must go to Jaipur '

' ok then let's go wohooo' and they headed to Jaipur in full speed.

chapter-11

The gang headed to Jaipur after mere escape from their last hideout, Berth and Laksh woke up they had fallen asleep because of their insufficient sleep last night both Alice and Akshara kissed Berth and laksh and said 'good morning!'

' good morning ' they replied Ralph was driving with Sneha sitting beside him 'so where are we?' asked Berth

'we just crossed a small village named Gurugram next we will stop in Jaipur ' said Ralph

' oh, why stop ?' asked Laksh

'we need to fill the tank, and I think everyone needs a change of clothing we have been in these clothes for two days, need to fresh up' said Ralph

' yeah you are right, I am stinking ' said Laksh. They went on their way the city was not to far it was about 12p.m alice and Akshara passed on some snacks to everyone and kept the mood fresh everyone was bucked up because of the past two days that they didn't have time to ease up they played music and munched on snacks soon they reached the city. They entered the city just like they had expected it was also ruined but it was not in that bad shape they could see a few people roaming here and there was small group passed by there were three boys holding rods and two other girls all were scared and later they saw a small family Ralph noticed that there were two kids a boy and a girl about 5 to 6 years crying their mother was trying to calm them but they wouldn't he suddenly stopped and asked Alice to give some food he stepped out their father came forward with a rod ' don't worry , I am not going to harm you' the father lowered the rod he moved towards the kids ' you guys hungry?' they nodded Ralph gave the food to them ' here you go eat this , there is enough for you two as well ' he said seeing towards the adults 'thank you!' the kids said he kept his hand on their head and said ' no problem kiddo' and smiled the father said ' thanks a lot they were hungry since yesterday' the mother asked smilingly 'why did you bother ?'

' well , in times like these we should help out each other and support each however we can then only we can survive, next time if you see someone in trouble and you are in a position to help please proceed and tell them the same thing as well' Ralph said smilingly and went to the car the kids waved their hands towards him saying ' bye!' he said his bye as well and started off again 'Wow, I am impressed!' said Sneha 'thank you, I am glad that you are' said Ralph

' yeah yeah nice try buddy don't worry she is not going anywhere you can flirt back while you are driving lets go' said Berth

'shut up Berth!' and they started laughing both Ralph and Sneha blushed. ' hey, look there is a mall up ahead, how about getting some new clothes everyone ' said Ralph everyone shouted ' yes let's go!' they parked their car a little far away from the mall and hid it and walked to the mall' they went into the mall it was not that much of a big mall but was enough for them to put on some new clothes. They went inside the mall and searched for cloth shops ' hey guys pantaloons , shopper stop and other shop are in the third floor let's go' said Berth they went up to the third floor when they were about to enter the shop that someone kicked Laksh and he fell down ' who the hell was that shouted Ralph and helped him get up a few men appeared from the shop about six of them seemed like local thugs' what's the big idea' said Berth angrily one of the men came and said ' who gave you the permission to enter the mall ' why the hell should we take a permission is this mall your dads? tough guy' said Ralph 'it doesn't matter whose it is but we live here now and no one is allowed to take anything without our permission'

' what if we do?'

' you got some big mouth kid let me close that trap of your ' said another of the larger men moved towards Ralph with a knife and was about to attack him wasting no more time Ralph took out his gun and shot the thug in the leg he moaned with pain and fell down seeing that others roared in anger and charged towards them ' you guys get back ' Berth said to the girls they moved back and three of them faced off the thugs Ralph gave the gun to Berth and punched a thug in the face and kicked the other in the groin while berth shot the other two in leg and Laksh took care of the last guy left soon all the thugs were laying on the ground with pain. ' At a time like this you must help people all the way you cannot gang up and scare people ' said Ralph the thugs ran away and the gang carried on with their shopping they went in and took new clothes boys changed into jeans and hoodie while the girls wore jeans and crop top when Ralph saw Sneha in her new clothes he said 'cute' slowly but Berth and Laksh both were in the earshot and said ' yeah we know girls you like always look cute in those tops ' said Laksh and laughed ' whatever' said Ralph and went off to see other clothes . while the girls were looking at clothes Sneha said to Akshara ' look at Ralph he is looking so good in that hoodie 'she laughed and said ' yeah of course he is '

' but not as good as Berth, ok!' said Alice and three of them started giggling. They packed some clothes and they went to the entrance of the mall ' you guys wait here I will get the car ' said Ralph and headed towards the car when he was about to open the door someone hit him on the head from behind with a rod and he fell down his head spinning with pain when he opened his eyes they were the same thugs from the mall when he tried to get up him legs went numb they all beat him severely with rods all over until he was about to pass out he heard his friends screaming and shouting in rage he could see the thugs running and Laksh , Berth chasing the firing on them eventually they ran off he saw Sneha crying and taking his head on her laps and passed out. Ralph finally woke up he was lying on a bed in a building he looked around he could see Sneha sitting beside him was sleeping with her head near his legs pained his right hand was wrapped with bandage and so was his head Sneha woke up and hugged him ' thank goodness you are ok I was so worried ' and she began to weep tears were flowing freely on his shoulder he extended his hand and hugged her back ' i am fine don't worry it's ok ' and caressed her hair softly . ' Ralph !'shouted Alice and Akshara they came running and hugged him as well ' you were down for almost 5 hours thank god your injuries aren't serious ' said Alice. While they were talking Berth Laksh came in talking to a person it was the same man whom he had helped on the road with food he looked confusingly at Sneha ' he is a doctor when we were carrying you on he came and treated you '

' thanks a lot sir 'said Ralph

' you helped us when we needed now it is my turn to return the favor ' he said with a smile. ' So is anything serious?' asked Berth ' no not at all just minor injuries you can take him whenever you want' said doctor ' thanks a lot doctor' said Laksh . ' so where are we?' asked Ralph 'just a small building medical shop was close by so we thought it would be to bring you here' said Akshara he nodded

' well you take rest we will be staying here tonight we can start tomorrow morning ' said Berth

' did you secure the building' asked Ralph

' yeah it is safe ' said Laksh

'you just take rest don't worry about all of it we will keep an eye out Sneha you stay with him here you guys come we it will be dark soon I will tell you from where you have to keep guard ' said Berth.

chapter -12

Everyone went outside leaving them in the room Sneha stood up and went to the table she cut an apple and fed him. 'I am glad that you are alright I was so worried you know!' she said in a choking voice

' hey it is ok, I am fine this is nothing' he said holding her hand she was mad at him he could see it in her eyes ' you idiot why did you go alone you think you are the super cool guy who can do anything all by himself?'

' ehh?' 'looks like i'm in truoble who knew she could scold like that"

' what are you murmuring about? what were you thinking going all by yourself from next time onwards I will go with always don't you dare go alone , I am watching you!' she said in angry voice. Ralph was staring at her and didn't have a word to say he reddened a little bit and smiled'

' you think this is funny ?' still in a angry tone he smiled at her he took her hand made her sit beside him

' um what happened Ralph?' in a nervous tone he placed his hand on her shoulder and made her take his support on his shoulder ' you were talking just like my mom , I can see her in you ', she didn't get a thing to reply him but all of her frustration was gone she smiled thinking that how important has everyone become to each other in a short time a few teenagers came together struggling for their lives after losing their loved ones she realized that these guys had become her family in such a short time . 'Promise me Sneha you will always be on my side like this scolding me and taking care of me like this promise me!'

' I promise you Ralph !' she said in a soft voice

' I want to tell you something ' said Sneha in a little low tone

' yeah, what is it?'

'um um how should I put it I...I.. I l...love you Ralph!' she said finally trying to control herself Ralph stayed silent for some time she got scared 'I am sorry if I hurted you or if you don't like me it is totally fine and...' but she was stopped when she felt a peck on her lips she stared at him 'I love you too' he said with a warm smile.

They cuddled for a bit 'well you guys are getting comfy ' said Berth with others behind him Sneha moved away suddenly blushing with her face totally red ' umm it is nothing ' Ralph said looking with his face totally red too Alice smacked him on his head from back ' berth you are making them feel awkward just stop it ' said Alice getting angry at him and giving a sly smile 'okk chill out !' said Berth . 'so, what's up guys any problem ' asked Ralph

' it is 8p.m genius don't you want to have dinner ' said Akshara ' ohh yeah I forgot ' he said rubbing his head ' yeah how will you ' said Laksh with a cheeky smile pointing towards Sneha ' yeah yeah that is enough guys no more messing with them' said Akshara with a mad face. ' Ok then let's eat guy's ' said Berth they all sat around and they started eating they had their dinner cheerfully talking to each other and having a little fun they could have which was important at a time like this which made them feel more humanly and feel about their age but they couldn't continue with it was already dark and they had to be on their guard. Soon they completed their supper and went to their positions to guard even in his condition Ralph guided everyone on how to guard and where to properly no matter what condition he was in it didn't matter to him when it came to the safety of his friends he himself insisted to guard as well but everyone forced him to stay put leaving him no choice he agreed to them.

Soon all of them were stationed in the position that Ralph had assigned them to there was one floor in the building Ralph and Sneha were in the center room and in the other room the doctor and his family while the others were at the corner of the house on each side to keep an eye out from all possible direction. Unknown to them Ralph secretly snuck out of his bed after Sneha was asleep beside him and sneaked on everyone one's position to make sure if everything was fine to his shock everyone was hardly able to control their sleep or slept he saw that even Berth fell asleep after trying to control his sleep he signed heavily on seeing them asleep and smiled

'well so much for don't worry, well it's ok I will watch out you guys are already pass your limits' he said smiling and walked up to the

Terrace ...

After taking his gun and sat on the wall of the terrace leaning on the pillar with his hoodie on watched over the entrance to make sure it was safe he kept his senses sharp and alert to make sure no enters the door unknown to anyone except his parents he had a disorder due to which he could stay awake for days if he wanted to and an few hours of sleep would be enough after that to make up for it almost like he could control his sleep though it was a disorder Ralph would use it to his advantage always he would always stay awake for a week at night and studied , physical exercise by sneaking out of home in the early morning after studying till morning 3 a.m or studied about programming which was one of his hobbies and would sleep for the whole Sunday to make up for the week although he wouldn't do it frequently as he knew even though his body won't show symptoms but it was tired and needed rest.

Ralph was watching over from the terrace with his gun in his hand it had been about 5 hours of watch and time was about 4 a.m when he heard a noise of the door he turned around to see while clutching his gun tightly ready to shoot it was Sneha he signed in relief and put lowed his gun

' I knew you would be here after seeing that everyone fell asleep you couldn't bring yourself to wake them and decided to watch yourself even in your condition, idiot!' she said a little angrily

' well you know me' he said and turned around she came and sat beside holding his hand and turned her face to him she noticed that there was not even a slight look of exhaustion or drowsiness in his eyes but were fixed looking out everywhere

'since how long have you been here?'

' umm I guess about 5 hours' she was shocked on what he said 5 hours and not even a hint of exhaustion his face she thought in her mind

' how could stay awake like that for so long without being tired?' he smiled at her and moved his hand towards her hair which was falling on her face an moved it

' you can call it a disorder or more of a habit , I can stay up for a week without sleeping and only a few hours of sleep can make up for it' she was shocked on hearing that she just kept staring at him like that "bloody hell !" she said Ralph smirked "language Sneha" putting a hand over her shoulder and she gracefully leaned on his shoulder both looking at the moon enjoying its beauty suddenly Sneha leaned forward and kissed Ralph he suddenly moved away blushing heavily " a-are you sure I mean we just came into the relationship... " before he could say anything he was stopped by another kiss she moved away a little from his face she moved towards his ear and whispered " you know if you had make the first move in the room you could have got a lot more than my kiss then and there only because you hold my heart already since you didn't now you have to wait patiently for anything else other than my kiss until I say so" listening to all of this Ralph face had turned like a tomato blushing heavily for the first time in his life he was nervous and didn't have a word to reply many girls flirted with him in the past and he always brushed them off but this was way above his league ' um...um I-I do-nt 'said stammering but was cut off by her when she moved close to his face suddenly he could feel the her warm breath on his face ' you are so cute when you are nervous and shy I think for the first time I am seeing you so nervous ' she said seductively and kissed him lightly on the cheek but this time something unexpected happened he gave her a cheeky devil smile Ralph was not goanna hold back and lose to her he wrapped his arm around her waist tightly and pulled her closer and kissed her passionately this time they did that for almost a few minutes and stopped to let each other breath and panted hardly this time Sneha was blushing heavily Ralph smirked he came closer to her ears and whispered "guess finally caught you of your guard I think you forgot who I am they didn't call me the most confident guy in the school simply you see there is a reason for it someone can rarely make me blush with that kind of attitude you might be way above my league in flirting but I can outmatch it because my confidence level is way too much " this sent shivers down her spine in her mind 'Oh my god his attitude I was so sure that he would be taken off by my flirting side so high still he managed to beat me with his attitude and confidence no wonder girls used to crazy on him in the school , he is the perfect boyfriend material ever and the hottest to make out with might be his first kiss but it felt really good can't wait for the other things...' she blushed at her own thoughts for the first time she felt a little perverted in her life she gazed her eyes down feeling defeated, suddenly it started raining Sneha was going to drag him in but he stood up suddenly and pulled he close until their bodies touched each other she was about to say something suddenly he placed his arm around her waist and started dancing ' I know you loved our dance back then and wanted to continue , it is such a lovely climate let's enjoy it' he said with a smile she smiled back and placed her hand around his neck synced her steps with his they enjoyed it for about half an hour ' I love you' she said with her head leaning on his neck he placed his chin on her head ' I love you too' they enjoyed there company until they were interrupted by a shrieking screech.

' Bloody hell!' is all Ralph could say but he didn't let the shock take over him he turned to Sneha ' go wake up the others we need to get the hell out of here' she nodded and ran down the door while Ralph sighed thinking about a plan he suddenly got an idea ' I can't believe that I am doing this , oh god please help me' he said looking down he noticed that there was building close by he stepped back and ran towards the edge and jumped on to the other roof unknowing that Alice just came up and saw that not trying to raise her voice much she shouted a little ' what the hell do you think you are doing Ralph' in horror Ralph turned and said ' you guys get out of here while I am distracting them don't worry , I am on the roof they can't get me when I am done I will come back you guys be ready with the car ' there was no response from her when he was about to jump he heard ' you are so dead Ralph when you get back I will break every bone in your body then you will think a thousand times before being such a reckless idiot ' she said he knew he was in trouble for pulling out such a stunt ' oh man I am so dead ' he thought paled a little bit and jumped on to another terrace when he kept on jumping he finally stopped and took out his gun and shot one of the beings because of the loud sound all of them ran towards the building he was on when they were close enough he jumped back towards where he came from 'that was easy luckily the roofs were so close or else I would have been dead ' he thought and headed back thinking what would Alice and Akshara do to him a shiver went down his spine as sweet as they could when it was about him he could fight anyone without being scared but when they both would get angry no one was safe from their wrath his face went pale when he finally reached to his roof he ran down the stairs ' I hope everyone is alright' thinking he paced up while he was going down he heard a scream ' somebody help! 'it was the doctors daughter without wasting a second he ran to the room from where the scream came he was shocked at the sight doctor his wife and his son were dead covered in blood the only one left was the little girl the biter moved towards the girl who was in corner shivering and crying closing her eyes he immediately noticed a pan nearby he took it and hit the biter on its head several times until its skull was crushed he threw the pan aside and moved towards the girl when he was about to touch her she moved back a little still shivering and tears in her eyes ' please don't kill me pleaseee' she cried in agony Ralph felt sad that she was scared that she couldn't recognize him he smiled warmly ' don't worry sweetheart I won't you will be safe with me trust me I am your big bro remember' he slowly extended his hand towards her she flinched a little he put his hand on her cheek and cleaned the tears and patted her head lovingly ' your big bro will protect you trust me sweetheart don't cry I will take care of you' the girl cried and jumped on him hugging him and crying in agony he could feel the tears on his shoulder he patted her back gently ' don't worry from now on you are my responsibility I will take care of you' she finally moved relived him from the hug he wiped her tears and turned back kneeling down ' hop on I will carry you' she hesitated first ' don't worry trust me' he smiled she finally hopped he gave the little girl a piggy ride and ran towards his friends' damn it one of them must have barged in from the other door while I tried to distract them if only I would have been a little quick her family would have been saved no matter what she is my responsibility from now on I will protect her with my life' thinking he ran towards the car. When he finally reaches the ground floor he sees that a mob of zombies were at the building from where he had shot the gun suddenly he felt a hard clutch on his shoulder then he saw it was the girl she was shivering with fright closing her eyes and holding him tightly and some tears were slipping down her cheek he felt bad looking at the little girl who had to see all of this at her age ' don't worry , I am here right just close your eyes and hold on tight to me until we reach my friends and then we will be safe ' she nodded and did as he told her ' poor girl not able to talk out of fear' he thought and sprinted towards the car he knew where it was Laksh told him that they had parked it at the corner of the street . It took about ten minutes when he was about to reach the car about four biters came out of nowhere and 'damn it to think we were so close' he thought he signed and turned his head to the girl who still closed her eyes he went near stranded car and placed her there' stay here I will be right back ' when he was about to go he felt a clutch on his hoodie's end the little girl was holding it tightly looking at him intensely in his eyes her eyes were in tears ' please come back safely, you are the only one left to me... big bro' he smiled warmly on being mentioned big bro he bent down and placed his hand on her head ' don't worry little sister , no one will lay a hand on you while I am alive , I will come back to you' he said and went he picked a rod and charged at them one of it tried to jump on him but he quickly moved aside and it fell he thrashed the rod on its head the other three charger at him as well he kicked the one that was trying bite his hand while punching the other suddenly the other one charged at him he tripped over the other body and fell back not having enough time to react he couldn't move but suddenly the biter fell as well he was Berth behind the biter he slashed the biter led using his knife ' well what will you do without me ' Ralph smiled Berth extended his hand and he gladly took it and stood up ' thanks Berth' he turned to see that Akshara was already holding the little girl he smiled and turned when he was punched in the gut he groaned with pain only to see it was Alice ' you bastard how can you do something dangerous like that what do you think you are ?' she said on the verge of tears 'I...I am' until he could he finish he was embraced in a hug by her ' don't you dare do something like that ever again promise me! ' she was crying on his shoulder he returned the hug ' I promise ' finally she relieved him from the hug 'oh don't you dare think this is over Sneha is with Laksh in the car and is crying like hell you are in big trouble' she said smirking evilly ' oh damn it I am so dead ' he smacked his face and groaned while the other laughed. After a little they finally reached the car Ralph noticed Sneha who seemed to be royally mad at him and he turned pale finally after gathering some courage he went to her ' hi' before he realized he was on the ground holding his head and hell of a pain in stomach ' bloody hell that hurt!' holding his stomach' of course it was meant to next time when you think about doing something stupid like think about this still you managed to do it the pain will be somewhere else' she shot back he turned pale and sweated a little understanding where her next target would be he nodded vigorously the others were standing there shocked and staring at him when Ralph noticed 'what?' he asked a little curious and irritated Laksh finally spoke up ' they are shocked to see the boy with whom no one dared to mess up in the school who didn't fear anyone is sweating with fear because his girlfriend is mad at him ' Ralph face turned red he was rather blushing or was embarrassed no one understood while the others burst into laughing While Sneha was quiet still blushing he stood up 'shut up you guys or you want me to show why no one dared to mess with me in the school 'he said a little angrily ' yeah sure and we will ask Sneha to give you another or kick where she mentioned earlier' Berth shot back Ralph face was totally red with embarrassment he went into the car murmuring about being troublesome soon they went into the car Ralph asked the little girl to come sit with him Sneha understood what he was doing and sat with others and they started off the little girl freed up a little but was still holding onto Ralph tightly with fear ' so what is your name sweetie' he finally asked she turned his head towards him he was smiling warmly and had his hand on her head she finally felt safe and replied ' m..m...Meera' she said stuttering a little rather out o fear 'hey Meera I am Ralph' he said and introduced others as well ' thank you for saving me' she said Ralph patted her head ' how can I leave my little sister alone ' she smiled at this and held onto him tightly she was rather feeling safe with him and Ralph felt protective for her he always felt a desire for little sister as he didn't have siblings .Meera turned her head towards the front seat and noticed Berth and Alice were kissing and said ' ewwww what are they doing ' she asked pointing towards them everyone turned their heads towards them and burst into laughing they broke apart and turned their heads in opposite directions with embarrassment ' I am proud of you ' said Ralph and patted her head she didn't understand and tilted her head a little confused ' don't be so happy my boy you just came into relationship I will take my sweet revenge for what you did to us when we were new ' Berth said smiling menacingly ' oh don't forget about what you did to us ' Akshara said 'oh crap I totally forgot about my pranks when they just became couple and how I teased them while they were having some quality time i was so confident about myself of not coming into a relationship that I played with them shit!' was all he could think about now 'Ralph what did you do ?' Sneha asked raising an eyebrow Ralph sweated and raised his hands' nothing... nothing at all just some pranks' he said smiling nervously while others were giving him an evil smirk 'damn' he thought and so their conversation continues and they travelled on it was about at 9 they stopper and had their breakfast after that they continued on their journey .

chapter-14

It was about 4 p.m in the evening and the group was on a highway when Meera suddenly said while looking out ' hey, look more cars are behind us' she said happily everyone turned back to see about two jeeps first they thought they were normal survivors like them travelling but when they came close into the view they noticed that they heavily armed and were chasing them suddenly the back window shattered and all of them ducked 'shit!, they are shooting at us everyone keep your head down Sneha hold Meera down Berth go in full speed while I will shoot at them and try to shake them off Laksh give me a hand ' Ralph said in commanding tone when he was like that there was no room for argument all of them did what they were told all of them crouched down into their seats while Sneha held Meera closely to her and moved to a corner in the car to safety while Ralph and Laksh were shooting at them finally Ralph shot at one of their car tires and it crashed when they tried to shoot at them their car violently jerked off and skidded Berth barely managed to control it from crashing ' what happened?' asked Laksh ' I guess the tier is punctured maybe they shot ' Berth said in painful tone moving back from the steering slowly ' BERTH!' Alice shouted loudly everyone turned to see there was blood on his forehead and face before he could say anything he passed out Alice immediately moved towards him tending his wound while the bandits caught up to them and stopped the car a little behind them there were about five of them each holding a pistol they came out of their car and moved towards them suddenly they heard a loud sound and one of them fell on the road yelling in pain holding his leg they turned their head towards them to see it was Ralph holding his gun pointed to them they ran behind the car ' get out of the car you guys and hide behind it hurry up' they immediately came out of the car while Laksh and he were at the opposite side of the car shooting at them the bandits kept on shooting at them and Laksh constantly ducked and shot at them finally he properly aimed at one of them and shot him in the neck he turned towards the other and shot him in the chest as well while he was about to shoot again he felt a piercing pain in his left hand bleeding and the bullet didn't hit him but merely touched him and went off he fell down with pain ' LAKSH!' Akshara shouted and moved towards him with Sneha behind her they both dragged him to the back of the car ' shit there are still two more this won't be easy i need to do something quickly or else we are done for' he turned towards the other and saw them Meera was holding onto Sneha tightly crying Alice was bandaging Berth and Akshara was applying pressure on Laksh wounds to stop the bleeding he saw towards Sneha she looked at him into his eyes Ralph gave a smirk and winked at her she immediately understood he was going to do something dangerous again ' no don't do it ' she shouted and everyone saw her and them to Ralph but it was too late he jumped out in the plain view and kneeled with one leg aiming his gun he shot at one the bandits directly into his stomach but before the bandit fell he shot him in the leg Ralph felt the pain upon the pain of his previous wound as well ignoring the fierce pain he shot the other as well but in the process he was shot as well barely missing his waist the bulled touched him and went off he fell down ' aaaarrrgggghhh' he shouted on top of his throat and fell before he could have fallen Sneha caught him ad rested his into her laps she was in tears ' you idiot you did it again I told you don't pull out stunts fool' she said crying Ralph patted her cheek softly cleaning her tears ' when it come to all of your safety I will do these things a hundred more times without hesitation' Sneha was crying hard a buried her face into his chest mean while Meera came running as well worried about her surrogate big brother. Berth finally came to consciousness he held his head ' damn it ' giving him a massive headache he saw that he was in Alice lap who was crying vigorously with her head turned somewhere else ' what happened why are you crying ?' she looked at him with tears in her eyes and eyes puffed ' R...Ra...Ralph' his eyes widened he immediately stood up and ran towards where he saw Sneha and Meera when he finally came his eyes widened as he saw Ralph covered in blood Sneha was trying to clean his wounds but her hands were shaking so much that she couldn't do it properly he placed his hand on hers 'let me do it ' without protesting she gave the cloth to him he immediately started to clean his wounds when he cleaned it totally ' shit!' others turned to him Sneha asked 'what happened?'

' first I thought bandaging the wounds would be enough but this is serious I have to close his wound immediately ' everyone knew about Berth passion towards being a doctor he always studied about the medical treatment in his free time

' can you do it?' Alice asked Berth flinched a little and started thinking meanwhile Akshara and Laksh came by as well and stood near ' how is your wound ?' Alice asked Laksh holding his arm and assessing it ' don't worry just a small cut Akshara bandaged it will be fine ' he said Alice sighned in relief ' what about Ralph is he alright?' Akshara asked sitting kneeling beside him and holding his hand ' it is serious Berth is thinking about how to close his wound '

' I can do it guys get me a knife and something to heat it I have to cauterize it ' Alice immediately went into the car and bought a knife ' but we don't have anything to heat it up she said ' Laksh immediately ran towards the bandits and started checking their pockets after searching two of them he finally found a lighter and came back handing it to Berth 'Bro this is going to sting a lot , sorry! Alice hold Meera back and cover her eyes she might get disturbed at the sight Laksh come here and hold his right hand and Aksahra keep holding his left ' wasting no time they did immediately as they were told Berth has heated the knife meanwhile he sighed and placed the hot knife on his the wound Akshara and Alice closed their eyes not being able to look at their brother in such a condition . Ralph shouted at the top of lungs ear piercing screech ' aaaarrghhhhh' and held Akshara and Laksh hand tightly Sneha held hid head while he was shaking ' hold him tight almost done' he said pressed the knife a little more removing it after a few seconds Ralph was panting heavily and was in full consciousness he gave Berth a death glare and said ' fuck you !'

' what don't give him that look he is not the one who pulled out the stunt it is your fault now shut your trap and rest' Sneha fumed in anger and gave him a more deathly glare he immediately kept quiet Berth smirked ' what your leg is still left this is not over yet' Ralph face turned pale ' what!' he shouted Berth burst out laughing ' look at your face just kidding will put a bandage that is more than enough' he said while laughing other laughed as well while he recieved a smack on the head ' oww not the head '

' don't make play with my little brother ' Alice said cracking her knuckles and giving a evil look

' troublesome' he said inspecting his head bruise she immediately glared at him ' did you say something?' he knew if he would say one more thing he would be in trouble the thought of it caused him to sweat he raised his hand in defense ' no nothing at all' not satisfied by the answer ' good for you' she said and went to Ralph. Meera came running and hugged Ralph 'I am so glad you are alive please don't leave me like that again I can't live without you big bro' she said as she started crying in his shoulder he returned the embrace and patted her head ' don't worry I will always be there by your side 'she cried in his arms for a few minutes when she didn't move he turned his head to see she was asleep of exhaustion Akshara moved forward and picked the girl in her arms as she slept peacefully ' you know as much as I would like try not ruin the moment but , I hate sleeping on the road mind helping me ?' he said Sneha retorted 'pull out another stunt like that and you will be sleeping on road for an whole month' as Alice and she came forward and helped him get up leaning on both of them he reached the car and sat in it Sneha sat beside him and other settled in Akshara was driving and they started off after about two hours ' look there such a beautiful grassland I think we should camp there what do you think Ralph ' he turned around to ask and saw that he was sleeping on Sneha shoulder and smiled Alice finally stopped and turned to see what Berth was looking at she turned around and saw couldn't help but smile. They decided to camp there they all got off the car and started to set up the tent while Sneha and Ralph were in the car Sneha couldn't stop herself from staring at him he was looking cute to her she kissed his forehead and finally he woke up she kept her hand on his cheek and started caressing 'wake up sleepy head' he smiled at her and put his head on her shoulder again he didn't know why but around her he felt relaxed he felt like a kid who wanted love and support they just stayed like that for a few minutes when Laksh called them for dinner Meera was sleeping in the back seat Ralph moved the seat and tried to wake her up but she was so sleepy unconsciously she lifter her hands as if wanting him to hug her but he understood what she wanted he lifted her up and in and she was still little sleepy her head on his shoulder ' can you lift her let me help you' Sneha asked concerned he smiled ' nah I want to lift her it will be fine don't worry ' they walked towards the other who were sitting around a campfire there was still some light so it was ok to put it up they sat around it in circle and distributed food among themselves Meera was still sleepy and sitting on his lap he fed her they all were talking and trying to ease the tension and relax from previous incident that could have almost killed them. Soon they all got ready to sleep all the couples shared a each tent Meera was sleeping with Sneha and Ralph.

chapter -15

They all slept soon enough whereas Berth couldn't sleep at all Alice was sleeping peacefully beside him snuggling into his chest but he wanted fresh air he slowly sneaked out of the tent making sure to not to wake her up he went out and laid down on the grass and stared at the sky it was beautiful the sky was clear and filled with stars which couldn't be seen in the city due to pollution no one knew except Alice that he had taken major blow on the night there parents died, he kept himself together when he found that he had new family if it wasn't for them he would have killed himself and today he almost lost his best friend and couldn't help him he clenched his fist tightly , suddenly he felt grasp on his shoulder it was Laksh he smiled at him and sat beside him ' what's up ? still thinking about recent incident'

' how did you ...' before he could complete his sentence Laksh cut him off ' I know you since childhood of course I can tell what you are thinking just by looking at your face ' Berth turned and started gazing the sky ' I don't know if you felt it or not but Ralph is taking a major blow every time we are in danger he always takes the major damage when I was tending to his wounds his previous wounds were still fresh today it was serious it was lucky I somehow was able to treat him , but there is a limit to a body if he keeps being reckless like this he will get himself killed' he said with a worried look on his face ' I know what you mean , I think he feels responsible for us and thinks only he must take the burden and not let us help him yeah I know he is a tough guy but we are all just teenagers he must understand that he can't do it alone ' Laksh said Berth nodded agreeing ' yeah we must make sure he doesn't takes it all on himself if he doesn't understand that then I will beat the shit out of him to make him understand ' Laksh chuckled ' you both are right ' they both almost jumped at the sudden new familiar tone it was Ralph standing there with hands in his pockets and bandages still wrapped around his bodies ' I am sorry , you both are right I felt like it was my duty to protect you guys but after what happened today if I would have taken your help it wouldn't have come to this , today all of us would have been almost killed if I wouldn't have act solo ' they both smiled at him ' first I felt it would be fine even if I would get killed and you guys will be safe , but after seeing how everyone reacted thinking that I am dead , it gave me shivers down my spine especially them ' he said pointing towards the girls in the tent ' I know you both will be able to pull it of somehow but when i saw them like that I felt horrible and almost felt like crying, Sneha love of my life crying for me like that , Meera I hardly met her a few days ago she is the closest to me like a sister , Akshara and Alice my childhood friends they both are like my two princesses and seeing the horror on their face for me , I feared for myself of losing them or what would have happened if I would have died ' Laksh stood up and went to him putting a hand on his shoulder 'we are glad that you understood our point of view as well this is not only your fight we are in this together if we will die it will be together as well so don't burden yourself ' Ralph smiled at him and so did Berth . They sat there and talked for almost an hour it had been long time since they talked sure they were always together but the boys talk was always special a few of the things you can share only with them Laksh asked him ' so Ralph how does it fell being in love finally after being so confident that you were happy being single only do you feel any difference ?' Ralph smiled and blushed dumbly ' well it feels great a person loving you completely, trusting you , you guys always used to say how great it is to fall in love and all , I used to say you guys are more than enough but when I fell for her I understood what is it ' he said ' you do realize that you are grinning like an idiot right' said Berth they both burst into laughing while Ralph whined about they both being idiots ' told you bro it feels awesome , but we are happy for you ' Laksh said ' so how far did you guys go apart from cuddling ' Berth asked with a perverted grin Ralph was blushing furiously while Laksh was laughing hard ' wow wow we didn't go that far idiot we just came into relationship ' he said blushing even more now ' chill out tomatoe boy' Laksh said Ralph put his hand around his shoulder and smacked his head ' ouch damn it!' he said Ralph chuckled so did Berth. They sat there for hours talking finally Ralph stood up seeing that it was already 1a.m he told that everyone must get some rest now and all of them went into their lovers tent and slept peacefully.

It was about 7a.m in the morning Meera slowly opened her eyes and rubbed it sheepishly when she was in her consciousness she felt something on her two warm hands on her both sides protectively around her she saw Ralph and Sneha still sleeping on her sides ' mom, dad, brother' she thought in her mind and smiled when she tried to get up slowly she noticed that Sneha had started to wake up as well she woke up and smiled at her ' good morning, sweetheart ' Meera gave her a heart full smile 'good morning ' Sneha said and woke up Meera went out of the tent . Sneha saw Ralph sleeping peacefully beside her she moved closer to her and kissed him on cheek he groggily woke up rubbing his eyes and saw Sneha staring at him and smiling ' good morning' she said he quickly grabbed her and rolled side wards and now he was on top of Sneha ' that was my best good morning ever' he said smiling and gave her peck on her lips and went out of the tent Sneha was still staring lying in the tent her brain trying to process about what had just happened she moved her hands on her lips and thought ' mmmmm, tastes sweet , damn why does he always leaves me shocked like this I will win next time for sure' suddenly having more perverted thoughts she shook her head furiously blushing she sighed and went out of the tent. Everyone had woken up soon they had their breakfast and packed up after cleaning up everything they started off on their journey again.

They were on their way to the their next destination Ajmer it was one of the beautiful cities in normal circumstances they would have loved to visit there but now it was not a time after about three hours of journey they finally reached the city . To say they were shocked would be an understatement they city was way more messed up then Jaipur , it was on the brink of destruction . 'damn guys this is the worst ' said Laksh others could only stare ' horrible' said Akshara by covering her mouth they stopped near a building and were inspecting the things around 'I don't think any one must have survived' said Berth .Ralph suddenly went stiff 'If there are no survivors here that means' his eyes went wide on realization they were literally standing in the pit of death ' damn it' he cursed others turned around 'what happened Ralph?' Alice asked 'think about if there are no survivors what do you think must have happened to them ?' they thought for moment ' that means every person here is a zombie and we are literally standing in their nest' said Laksh in realization everyone eyes went wide in realization ' then let's get out of here what are we waiting for ?' asked Akshara ' we can't even if we start now we don't know the routes here and the place is such wreck that it will take almost two days two figure out the route and get out of here we can't even turn around, this is the only known route ' said Ralph there was deep silence ' I think rather than wasting time here we must find a safe place to hide if we start now we will be able to barricade a place' Berth said , having no other choice they agreed and started searching for safe place. 'hey, Ralph how about that library over there?' asked Sneha 'hmm, yeah I think that will be fine we might get a map as well ' he turned the car towards the library and parked it nearby Ralph and Laksh went into the library to check whether it's safe or not after being satisfies enough they called the others in. It was one floored building with only one entrance in case of emergency there was a window which they could use to escape it was about 2a.m they ate their lunch after and decided that boys would sleep now as there is not much danger in sunlight and girls would take the guard so that boys could at night with proper rest. Soon it was about 8 p.m boys woke up they had their dinner as soon as possible as they didn't want to let their guard down at night and the girls went to sleep .The boys took their position it was about 10p.m ' i will go and check on the girls once' Ralph said others just nodded he went to see that Alice , Akshara and Sneha were sleeping together in a corner but he couldn't see Meera there he turned to see that she was sitting near a window staring out he slowly went near not wanting to startle her when he went near her he could hear her sniffing, crying she was staring at a locket in which there was a family picture of her he went near her and said' you know they wouldn't like it seeing you crying from above there ' she turned around her cheeks was covered with tears she ran towards him he knelt down and she clomped him crying on his shoulder he softly caressed her hair 'shhhh' and soothed her in a soft voice she stayed like that for a few minutes after she stopped crying he lifted her up he sat near the window placing the little girl on his lap she clutched on his hoodie tightly ' you ok sweetheart?' she turned towards him ' i ..i miss mommy , daddy, and brother ' she said sadly hearing this he felt a sting of pain in his heart he himself was barely able to get out of the depression after his parents death she was just a little girl no one should go through what she had gone through her life at her age ' I know how it feels sweetie even I lost them but think about it they gave their life so that you could survive even though they are not here right now but they will always watch over you from up there and they would like to see smile on their sweethearts face not tears' he said smiling warmly she smiled as well but not totally he started tickling her she started laughing now it was a heart full laughter he could see it on her face ' Remember you have a new family now I know now it is hard to get over your past but you must move on and enjoy what you have now 'she smiled at him he patted her head she moved towards and kissed him on the cheek ' thanks big bro ' she said and stayed on his lap for some time like that and dozed off he carried her laid her near the other girls placing a blanket on her he kissed her forehead, he didn't realize that Sneha had watched the whole ordeal and smiled 'you have heart of a gold Ralph , I have no doubt on my choice'.

chapter-17

Ralph went to other two after making Meera asleep it was about 12p.m and they were totally on their guard they could already hear loud growls they were inhuman it was making them really nervous because it was a lot more terrific than their previous encounters ,'holy shit those growls are monstrous' said laksh' seriously they are way more terrific than the previous ones 'replied berth , Ralph was nervous if they would be surrounded it would be really tough to get out this time . They peeked through the window and saw that there were about 40 to 50 of them heading towards the library ' start shooting guys they know we are here it is useless to hide ' shouted Ralph they started shooting soon the girls woke up because of the shooting they were getting closer by second and their efforts were going to vain ' if i could distract them towards me others could escape' thought Ralph he put the gun in his back and tried to jump from the window but before he could someone grabbed his hand he turned around and felt a stinging pain oh his cheek it was Sneha she had slapped him and was on verge of tears 'what the fuck were you trying do to be the hero again using yourself as a distraction so we could escape huhh?' she asked he put his head down and stared towards the floor soon he found himself slammed on the wall picked by the collar of his shirt it was Berth ' you who do you think you are what the fuck did you say when we talked that night you promised us and now you are doing the same damn thing again huh' he was very angry they all were staring at him girls were crying and boys were angry and horde of zombies were heading towards them ' you don't have to do everything yourself Ralph 'said Alice and hugged him 'yeah as much as you want to protect us and can't see us get hurt we feel the same for you we are in this together we will go down together if we have to' said Akshara and hugged him to he saw them in their eyes filled with warmth and determination he smiled and nodded ' I would love to let you guys continue with mushy crap but we got zombies to kill ' shouted Laksh, was shooting at them they were about to barricade the door but it was forced open by them and they started coming in all the boys took their machetes and jumped into action and started slicing them but they were outnumbered Laksh tripped back a zombie jumped on him he struggled to keep himself from being bitten it was about to bite him there was gun shot and it fell down it Akshara who had shot it 'stay away from by boyfriend ' even Alice and Sneha had started shooting but they were just too many ' get back you guys ' shouted Ralph and they were cornered to a wall Sneha was holding onto Meera who was crying and Alice and Berth were holding onto each other so were Laksh and Akshara they had no chance of escaping Ralph was still slicing them and trying to keep them away they had lost their hope Ralph was tripped by them and two of them jumped on him Berth and Laksh immediately tried to stop them and he was struggling to keep their mouth away from him and then suddenly a gunshot was heard from outside and all the zombies turned towards them he immediately took advantage of it and pushed them aside and moved away from them Sneha and Meera immediately held him from both sides and more gunshots were heard from out soon one by one the zombies were shot down a man about 6.4 feet tall came in they couldn't see him properly in the dark when the moonlight fell on him there stood a man with a gun wearing the Indian army uniform .'Let's go kids move on we need to hurry up' he said with authority not wasting anytime Ralph picked Meera on his back and they started running out there were three more men almost as tall as him they guided them to a hotel .

chapter-18

'you are some brave kids holding against so many of them all by yourselves ,I am captain Ram the in charge here they are my teammates , Shiv, Shankar and Lakshman ' he said holding out his hand Ralph shaked the hands' i am Ralph sir, these are my friends Sneha , Berth , Alice , Laksh , Akshara and the little girl here is Meera thank you for saving our lives' he replied politely , ' so what were you kids doing here ' he asked everyone's face turned a little solemn ' we are all school friends sir, all of our parents were killed currently we are heading to my beach house in Surat which is a safe house ' replied Ralph ' ohh that makes sense ,well don't worry we will help you to get out of here ' Captain Ram replied smiling ' thank you sir that would be really kind of you but what about you , all of you can come with us as well right?' he asked 'no kid we have our duty to do ' to which Ralph agreed this time Berth asked ' so is there a word from the government sir?'

'yes from what we have heard prime minister managed to make it out safely but president had fallen and currently all the powerful leaders have come together trying to find a solution for this pandemic'

' i see so there is a little hope left'

' yes it seems so ' they stood there in silence for some time ' ok kids I am sure you are all tired luckily this is a good hotel go take whatever room you want and freshen up ' said Major Ram. Soon they all freshened up Ralph , Sneha ,Meera had taken a room Akshara and Laksh had taken one , Alice and Berth did the same currently Ralph was sitting in other room he had taken a nice long bath Sneha and Meera were freshening up so he was waiting in other room suddenly the door opened it was Alice , Akshara ' hey what brings you here guys' he asked ' what we can't come to our baby brother without a reason now' Alice replied with smirk ' ohh come on you are only a few months older' he replied with pout on which both the girls laughed ' now remove your shirt' said Akshara he raised an eyebrow ' what you finally decided to ditch Laksh ' to which he was bonked on the head ' ouch' 'that is what you get for your smart mouth idiot, we came to check your wounds also for a little brother and sisters bonding time and I know your back hurts because you fell so shut up and remove the damn thing ' shouted Akshara a little irritated ' ok jeez no need to get snappy' he removed his shirt both the girls gasped there was big scar because of the bullet near his upper abdomen and his back had a big gash mark on his back both had tears in their eyes they pushed him on the bed and applied ointment on his back when done they also put a bandage on his bullet wound he wore his shirt and leaned on the bed side suddenly Alice came put her head on his lap and Akshara came an put her head on his shoulder ' hey what happened to you both ' he asked playing with Alice hair and putting a comforting hand on Akshara shoulder and make her more comfortable ' I don't know just let us be like this for some time' said Akshara ' it's just so much had happened recently we never get to spend some lone time with you so we thought we will stay with you here tonight' he smiled ' ok sure ' they just sat like that for sometimes silently Alice suddenly turned towards his chest tucked his shirt corner and was on verge of tears ' hey why are you crying' he asked put a hand on her head patting it ' It's just we came so close to losing you so many times I almost thought we lost you forever ' she said crying 'you are such an idiot you know that taking all of it on you always ready to get yourself killed for us what do you think we will go through if something happened to you ' this time it was Akshara who was crying burying her head in his shoulder he felt bad for hurting them he had always loved and adored both of them like his own sisters and could never see them crying or hurt and now he was the reason they were crying like this 'I ..I am sorry you two ' he said sadly ' you are not alone in this we all are together in this why the hell you always try play the hero why can't you let us support you ' said Akshara

' it's not like that you two' before he could complete Alice shouted on him ' don't give us that crap it is like that you are the most injured among all of us how long do you think your body can handle huhh? can you even tell me when was the last you slept properly can you ? just look at your eyes they are so tired your insomnia is totally killing you even you won't try to take proper rest '

' that is why we both came here today we will stay with you whole night make sure that you sleep properly and take good rest this is not an option ' said Akshara he knew there was no room for argument he signed ' fine boss your wish is my command ' they both laughed lightly the three of them laid down on bed with Alice on his left and Akshara on right they both held onto his hands not leaving at all he signed and said ' you know that you could leave my hands right' they both grinned and Alice said 'nope tonight you are all ours baby brother and don't worry about Sneha we told her she said she will sleep with Meera ' she teased he groaned at that making them laugh ' so how is it going between you two ' asked Akshara ' well we are taking it slow but pretty good we are good'

' so have you guys been you know' asked Alice ' oh come on Alice you gotta be kidding me' and both girls started laughing ' ohh so our baby brother hasn't turned into a man yet ' said Akshara 'ohh please neither did Berth and Laksh' he said with a cheeky grin and both the girls started coughing awkwardly ' don't tell me they did' he asked with shocked expression the girls face turned like a tomato and they both said ' no ' in unison he started laughing and the girls pouted ' ok you both that is enough let's go to sleep we have to wake up tomorrow he said 'yeah' they both said ' goodnight you two' he said 'goodnight baby bro' they both said and kissed him on both sides of his cheeks on which he blushed and they both laughed 'aww you embarrassed by your big sisters 'said Akshara he covered his face with blanket and hid his face the girl went near him and pulled off the blanket and slept to.

chapter-19

It was about 9a.m everyone had woken up and were getting ready they had decided today they would restock their supplies Ralph ,Laksh and Shiv decided to go out as he was aware of the where they could refill the stocks .Currently , Ralph and Laksh were in a street where few people were there and few shops were selling goods' wow never thought there were any survivors left here ' said Laksh in awe 'yeah a few people managed to survive and were able to find good hideout to stay safe at night' replied Shiv

'I see' said Laksh after walking for a few minutes they reached a shop that had food , weapons there was a fat man sitting at the counter smiling ' hello sir how can I help with you ' he asked politely ' well we would like to have some packed food and ammunition for these guns ' he said showing Ralph gun ' ahh I see , you got a nice one here ' he said ' thank you sir' replies Ralph

Soon after they had everything they were walking towards their ride Ralph was thinking something he turned his head towards Shiv and asked 'since we are done can you show me around the city, I want to see the layout normally I could have done it myself but so many buildings are destroyed it's confusing'

'sure, we have enough time left that won't be a problem but we must reach the base by 5.p.m'

'that is fine with me, thank you' and soon they were moving through the city Ralph had picked up a pocketbook and a pen and other few things on the way and was taking down notes when others asked what it was about he said they will know soon enough they roamed around for hours and returned to their base by 5.p. soon they reached they started making preparations for night they barricaded the doors and loaded up their ammunition and finally at 8.p.m had their dinner. Soon after the dinner everyone took their positions and Ralph was with captain Ram 'so you think there are soldiers like you out there?' he asked 'yes there are we were able to contact a few through radio jamming' he replies 'I see why don't you ask them to come here?' 'we did but it's not that easy they have civilians in their city and are struggling' replied major Ram 'how many do you think are there in this city?' asked Ralph 'I would say nearly hundred'replied the major
